Gwen's eyes glow pink. She has a premonition. "Guys, I think Ben's dead."
Kevin says bluntly, "we know, Gwen. Hey, Thanos is still on the loose. We need to stop what we're doing and fight Thanos."
John Wick flies in on a public airplane he's mounting and struts towards the remains of the flooded orphanage where Gwen's crew assists the children. He opens the door and screams, "children, hop on this plane, I'll take you to safety." Gwen creates a staircase connecting the ruined building to the airplane, and Kevin grabs some drowned bodies and carries them onto the airplane, where emergency paramedics try to revive them. After the last of the children board the plane, John mans the pilot's seat. Gwen holds Perry on her lap. She feels another premonition coming.
Gwen mutters, "hey, Perry. You feel confused, aimless, without purpose…" She pets Perry's head. He cackles. Gwen looks out the window. The sun's shining, for now. She sighs, knowing this is just a warning sign. She looks through the window and stares at the abandoned orphanage and shutters at the sight of a purple vortex forming before her eyes. She runs up the crowded airplane and barges into the pilot's deck and calmly warns John, "Houston, we have a problem."
John guarantees, "We'll outfly that big purple titan, as long as he doesn't grow big and we keep incognito, then we should be safe," though Gwen doesn't buy that narrative. Gwen runs back to the mains and spots Kevin. She dashes to him, gives him a rushed hug, and with tears in her eyes she confesses, "Kevin, I saw Thanos. And… he has Ben's ultimatrix... It's not safe to-"
The crunching sounds of torn metal scatters into everyone's ears like an aimless lead spread, and commotion occurs among the remaining population of orphans. Tears, screams, and anxiety splatter the soundscape just as a WayBig Thanos' face peeps in between the two chunks of the ship. Kevin immediately morphs his right hand into a metallic hammer and swings it onto Thanos, but the hammer snaps off him. Kevin screams in immense pain, and Gwen creates platforms to suspend orphans mid-air- all to no avail. The mad titan smashes all the platforms, killing bucketloads of orphans. John and Perry jump out of the plane donning parachutes, abandoning the teens.
With both plane parts in hand, the gigantic Thanos smashes both teens in a clean swipe, crushing them miles underground. Deep in the newly formed-cave system, Gwen, lying on the floor with Kevin, attempts to hold the plane pieces in the air. Gwen, with tears in her eyes, looks at Kevin.
Kevin looks back at her with a cold demeanor. Gwen chokes up as she hears vibrations echo through the plane and into the dank depths. She stares intently at Kevin and takes a few more deep breaths.
Kevin breaks the silence, "look, I know Ben's gone, but it doesn't mean we're hopeless."
Gwen mutters, "Kevin, he has the ultimatrix, and two infinity gauntlets. There's only one way to defeat a man with that much strength… I must shed my body…" She gulps as the plane pieces move sporadically before she quickly suppresses them again. Gwen stares perpendicular to Kevin and channels her powers to pierce a hole through stone. She gestures with her shaken hand, directing Kevin to move into the hole. Her body slowly combusts, emitting pink light. Kevin runs to the hole as Gwen allows the plane pieces to slam into her. She flies up to Thanos, burning her human body in the process, and takes all the condensed life force and blasts it towards the Kaiju-sized Thanos, delivering a death blow.
She wakes up on a blank plane of nothingness and looks around, though her only company is the miniscule tapping of her own soft footsteps. A moment of clarity. Yet, this fourth dimension feels unfamiliar to her. Meanwhile in the third dimension, Thanos absorbs the blast and redirects it through Gwen's tear in spacetime, stabbing her fourth dimensional consciousness. Her consciousness fractures, thus beginning a slow, final death. A final premonition glues the remains of her neural network together: nobody here can save her, nor respond appropriately to this threat.
Underground, Kevin peeps up through the makeshift ravine. Thanos is nowhere to be seen. He retreats back to his corner. His mutilated hand is still taking its time reforming, so he turns his feet into reinforced metallic spikes. Aggressively he stomps on the stone floor, mining it into bits. With Ben, Gwen, and Paradox dead, all his closest friends- the ones grounding him to the surface- are no longer there to stop him from controlling his newfound bloodlust. So he keeps stomping on the earth, digging deeper, and deeper, and deeper.
