A/N Heyy! I hope everyone is doing alright :)
CW: Hospitals
Ray gave him time to drink his water before they started to talk.
"Ray what- what was that? What happened?"
"From what I could see it was either an anxiety attack or a trauma flashback. Maybe a mix of both. I'm not a professional therapist or psychologist so don't take this as facts. But when you do start going to therapy be sure to bring this up, okay?" Manny nodded his head.
"Okay. In better news you do have permission to see Harry and cannot fully enter the room. There are a lot of delicate machines and..." Manny tuned the rest of the miniature monologue out. He could see Harry and Robin.
"Can I see them now?" Ray looked slightly startled.
"Manny, you probably need a little while to rest."
"I need to see them. Please."
"... Alright. I'll tell their nurses that we're on our way."
Manny found out the hard way that his legs were not used to walking. He managed to take a few steps before collapsing into Ray's arms. Because of this, he was being wheeled down the hospital hallways in a foldable wheelchair. Movies always show hospitals as cold dreary places; but this hospital was the complete opposite of that.
Murals of animals and sick kids decorated the walls and they passed by what looked to be an activity room, where kids were coloring and watching a movie.
Even when they left the children's wing the hospital still had an element of life to it. The white walls were balanced out with earthy tones in the furniture are posters advertising good hygiene.
Ray made light conversation as they passed through the building, talking about the other nurses and which vending machines had the best snacks, (apparently the one near the entrance to the maternity ward had the best food, but the kids wing had the best drinks.) trying to distract Manny from what had just happened.
Soon, Ray stopped the wheelchair in front of a room, 3122, and peeked their head in.
"Thanks Andrew!" They turned back around and faced Manny. "Alright, you ready?"
"Yes." It sounded like a mere whisper to Manny, but somehow Ray heard it. They opened the door wide enough for the wheelchair to fit through.
It took Manny a moment to fully take in the view. There were two hospital beds inside the room with lots of machines surrounding them. A small brown couch was pushed against a wall, and in the beds lay Harry and Robin.
It still felt like a dream, like it wasn't real. Manny gestured for Ray to bring him closer to them. He got closer, and closer, and closer, until he was at Robin's bedside. With shaking hands Manny reached out and clasped Robin's hand.
They're real.
He's here.
Alive.
Manny clutched the hand tighter and started sobbing.
