The first thing he heard after waking up was a splattering sound and Vanessa cursing. Gregory might have actually been awake for a while, but when you're comfortable in a bed under a warm blanket, the line between awake and asleep gets blurred.

Gregory sat up and rubbed his eyes, slowly realizing two things. The first being that this was very much not a guest room, the second being that it was dark outside, almost certainly night time.

Walking into the kitchen, he was able to witness the tail end of whatever clean up Vanessa had been doing. Seeing her in hello kitty pajamas was extremely weird.

"Good you're awake! Careful not to step on the towel, I used it to clean up an egg I dropped. Glad to see our sleep cycles are equally messed up."

"What time is it?"

"It's four thirty-ish in the morning. I'm making eggs, but I have cereal if you want that instead." Gregory shook his head, "Eggs are fine." He couldn't remember the last time he had eggs.

"Great" Vanessa went back to pushing the liquid eggs around with a spatula. It looked pointless, but he never learned to cook so what does he know. He sat down on the small couch and was finally able to take a good look at the apartment. The joint living and kitchen space was…small. There wasn't even a dining table. The couch was sat across from a standing flatscreen TV and surrounded by empty were a few photos that were too far away for him to see clearly, but the apartment couldn't have looked more lonely.

"Breakfast is served!" Vanessa brought over two plates of eggs and a salt shaker.

She sprinkled a generous heap on her eggs before handing the shaker to Gregory. He put a bit on before devouring the plate of eggs. They were delicious. Whatever stirring nonsense Vanessa had done with the spatula was well worth it. The TV was turned on, displaying a news channel talking about the stock market or something. The volume was low and Gregory didn't care enough to pay attention.

"I'm sorry"
"Huh?" Gregory looked up from his plate. Vanessa was pushing around the last bit of her eggs.

"I never actually said sorry. There was a lot going on but that's not an excuse. I'm so, so sorry Gregory." He wasn't used to adults apologizing. All of his instincts screamed at him not to trust this, another plot to gain his trust only to betray him. But the sorrow in her eyes was something new.

"It's okay, you're…forgiven." God it had been a while since he said that, did he do it right?

"It's really not, but thanks. I probably owe you an explanation of what really happened."
"You were like, mind controlled right?"

"How did you know that?"

"It's like in the one movie with the robots and the evil queen? She's bad, but then she's good and sorry because the real bad guy was making her. When you talked about 'him' in the car it sounded a lot like that."

"You're more observant than I gave you credit for, kid. That's basically what happened. I

beta tested a game, this…this guy named Willaim Afton- it was weird. In the beginning it was just doing favors and I wanted to help, but then it got weirder and weirder. Making a bunny costume and getting really high quality, sharp , he told me to kill someone. I didn't want to, but he got control of me. I think it had something to do with those little things I did for him, I don't know. What I do know is that whatever you did in the Pizzaplex saved me. You got rid of him," she gives Gregory the brightest smile he's ever seen on someone so tired. A song started playing and Vanessa grabbed her phone from the kitchen island.

"Hey? Yeah I'm up. Of course I remember when I'm supposed to be there. Uh huh. Yup. See you in a bit Sam." She put the phone down and picked up the egg towel. "Alright Gregory, I've gotta head in." Grabbing a pile of clothing from the arm of the couch, she disappeared into what was probably the bathroom.

Gregory went to get his shoes from by the door. He must've been really out of it if he didn't remember taking his shoes off or getting into bed. The best decision he had ever made was figuring out how to steal these from the shop in the Pizzaplex.

Vanessa exited the bathroom wearing her night-guard uniform and paused when she saw Gregory putting his shoes on.

"Kid, you're not coming with me tonight."

"What!? Why not!?"

"It was risky enough having you hanging around yesterday, and today they're probably going to start doing calibrations and tests on the animatronics. That means they'll be turning on. I don't know how much they'll remember or what they'll think, so it's best for you to hang out here today. I've got Netflix, Hulu, and a bookshelf if you can find anything on there. You can raid the kitchen for whatever you need, just please don't use the stove." She grabbed her keys and purple coat and went for the door, but was stopped by Gregory.

"I could stay with Sammy."

"Sammy also has a job to do. I don't want to leave you here alone, believe me I don't, but we need to play it as safe as possible. What if someone recognizes you?"

"No one will recognize me!"

"You're probably labeled as a missing person, there's a chance someone saw a poster or something with your face on it."

"Bold of you to assume anyone would care enough to put up posters."

"We'll unpack that later. Kid, it's come with me today and risk never being able to go back again, or stay here for a day while I do damage control." Gregory stayed still for a few moments before slowly moving out of her way and going back to the couch.

"You better tell Freddy where I am."

"I will if I can. I should be back at three, give or take a bit for the drive. Keep the door locked, don't answer the phone blah blah blah, I'm sure you can handle yourself." She hurried out the door, lock clicking behind her.

Gregory immediately went to where Vanessa had changed. He was right, it was a bathroom. There was also a washing machine where the towel from earlier was being washed. Gregory went back to the room he had woken up in. It was obviously Vanessa's, the flowery pink sheets he hadn't noticed before were more than enough to prove that, along with the wardrobe and music posters on the wall. He didn't recognize any of the band names and moved on.

He didn't find anything new in the living room after thoroughly exploring it, but he was able to get a better look at those photos on the wall. There was one of Vanessa and Sammy hanging out with each other where they looked fresh out of high school. Another photo has Vanessa in a long blue dress hugging a woman in a white dress and a veil. That must be Wendy. The rest of the photos were much the same, Vanessa and Sammy hanging out and a formal event with Wendy and Vanessa. It was probably a wedding. Maybe. He'd never actually seen a wedding.

The last room was a crowded "bedroom". There was a bedframe sure, but most of the room was filled with sealed boxes and sewing materials. A half finished dress was draped over the back of a chair. Gregory went back to the kitchen to look for any non-perishables. He found a couple of granola bars along with a couple of dollars. Score! He put the granola bars in his pockets and tucked the money into his shoes by the door. He sat down on the couch and tried to figure out how the remote worked. Eventually, he made his way to Netflix and found a show that looked kind of cool.

Vanessa came home at four. The door unlocking made Gregory jump up from the couch and pause the TV. She came in holding a plastic bag in one hand and a bundle of cloth in the other.

"Sorry I'm late! Sammy held me up at the end and I didn't feel like cooking so I got takeout."

"How'd it go? Is Freddy fixed?" Gregory was scrambling off the couch and over to the counter where Vanessa was setting down the plastic bag.

"Calm down kid! They were running final diagnostics for him when I left." Gregory pumped his fist as Vanessa rolled her eyes and started unpacking the takeout. She had gotten Chinese food from a small place nearby; sesame chicken and fried rice for Gregory and a double serving of chow mein for herself. Dinner was spent playing catch up. Chica was apparently the least damaged, besides Freddy, and the work on her was already completed. (They had to wait to find Freddy's head to start on him.) Roxanne and Monty were almost fixed, they'd probably be done by tomorrow.

"If all goes well the Pizzaplex should go back to normal in two days. You just have to put up with me for one more day and then I can smuggle you back in."

"Alright! Freddy, can you hear me?" His eyes turned on and he surveyed the room. He was in Parts and Service with one of his favorite technicians, Lux. Of course he liked every one of the technicians, they were all wonderful.

"Loud and clear Lux!" ve smiled.

"Alright Freddy, we're doing a quick test just to make sure everything works, you remember how this goes?" He did, in fact, remember how it went. They made sure he had control over all of his limbs, that all his hatches opened and closed properly, and that his memory was intact.

"Fantastic job Fred! You're free to go back to your room or hang out with Chica. She should be in her room and you can catch up on what happened last night." That's right, he had to pretend not to know about Gregory.

"Thank you very much Lux! Have a great night!"

"You too Fred." ve grabbed vir jacket and started to pack up virs stuff. Freddy went to the door with Chica on it. A quick elevator ride later and he could hear her practicing her guitar. He knocked on the door.

"Come in!" He entered the room. Chica looked up and her eyes lit up.

"Freddy! Oh my gosh I'm so glad you're fixed!" She put her guitar down and ran over to Freddy, pulling him into a large hug.

"Chica! I'm so glad you're back to normal."

"Back to normal?"

"Oh I, uh…"

"Wait! Do you remember what happened? You have to tell me!" Chica pulled Freddy over to her couch and sat him down.

"Chica I-"

"Freddy please. We promised we wouldn't keep secrets." He remembered. Remembered how if Bonnie had just told them what he was doing he might still be here. How they might've been able to save him.

"Okay"
