Disclaimer: I own Hiroko, that's about it.

It's been 8 years since my mom died. 8 years since I left Japan. 8 years since I started training to be a hero. And 8 years since I've seen Izuku, or as I like to call him, Kuku.

"If you're done staring out the window like a weirdo maybe you can talk to me." My sister Lilly mocked. I rolled my eyes but smiled at her. She was 22 now, with her brown hair reaching her shoulders, and blue eyes as beautiful as ever.

"I'm not being weird I'm thinking," I responded, giving her a pointed look. She smirked and tried to raise her eyebrow. She couldn't.

"Wow, that's a first." She said, I rolled my eyes again but cracked a smile. "So what are you thinking about?"

"Mom," I said, it still hurt when we talked about her, but it was kinda nice to talk her. It gave the respect she deserved. "Just wondering if she'd want me to be a hero."

"Are you kidding," Lilly said, "that's all she talked about" I laughed at that, mom was an amazing hero. She and dad were both in the top 20 so when she found out I wanted to be one too she was so happy. It's why I continued to work for it after she died.

"Yeah, um, thanks for letting me live with you," I said, trying to not think so hard about mom. Lilly glanced at me, knowing what I was doing, but chose to ignore it.

"Yeah, no problem, just make it into U.A. Then you'll be making it up to me." I laughed, yeah, all of my dreams kind of revolved around making it into U.A. which was a very difficult school to get into.

"Oh, you know I'm going to make it, the wannabe's got nothing on me," I said confidently, earning a laugh from my sister.

"Whatever movie or book character you're getting this attitude from, knock it off." I knew she was just playing, so was I. I knew that I was good at heroing, but everyone deserved to try. I wasn't that egotistical, who in their right mind would be?

"It's from a TV show ok, and the guy was hot, I couldn't I just not think about him." I smiled back to Lilly who rolled her eyes again.

"Jeez, I'm surprised you still don't have a boyfriend, oh wait." She pauses for dramatic effect, "it's probably because you'd be too busy drooling than to actually talk to them."

I scoffed but knew she was right. I had a habit of finding the cutest boys, and only slightly stocking them. To be fair I had always been training, so I didn't have enough time to actually get to know them, so looking from afar was my best option.

"You used to be boy crazy when you were younger, but I didn't think it could get even worse," Lilly continued on "but apparently you've been falling in love with fictional characters, how, how?" I gasped, she obviously hadn't been watching the right shows.

"I can't believe you could say such a thing, anime boys are better than real ones. Same goes for book boys too." I proclaimed, seriously, I needed to educate her. She only gave me a disbelieving look before turning back toward the road.

"Soooo, you getting married anytime yet?" I asked, Lilly swerved at the thought and just barley missed another car.

"No more talking, look at your phone or something." She said, I only smirked again but brought out my phone and headphones, turning on the new show I was watching.

It took twenty more minutes to get to the old apartment. We had gotten the rent cheap due to knowing the landlord so well, and the fact mom and Dad had been so loved, many where sad to see them go.

"Well, dad says he's going to be shipping the smaller packages soon, but the furniture should be inside," Lilly said, gaining my attention. When she found the keys and finally opened the door I felt like I was going to cry.

Like earlier, I started remembering great memories of this place. The bedtime stories told about mom and dad, by mom and dad. The odd food combinations coming from different cultures. Living with Lilly for most of the time.

Even if I loved my parents, a hero was a demanding job. I knew that, even when I was little, I never held it against them. But it was hard, they always looked tired, but I knew they where happy. It just took a lot for them to show it.

So I cherished their smiles, that's probably why I really want to be a hero. To make people smile; to keep them safe.

"Dang, it smells the same as it used to." Lilly said from behind me, I sniffed the air, and sure enough, it smelled like chary blossoms, and noodles. And odd combination but a comforting one nonetheless.

"Yeah, that's really weird, it's been 8 years." I said back to her.

"Alright girly, you got stuff to unpack and I got pizza to order." Lilly said, then putting her hand in the middle "ready, break."

"When did you become such a weirdo?" I asked giggling at my older sister.

"eh, maybe you rubbing off on me." she said, then grabbed her phone ready to make the call.

Using my oh so helpful quirk I was able to unpack the bed and set up my closet in an hour. Apparently, my big sister had forgotten what pizza place was closest so the 30-minute wait took a good two hours. So Lilly and I decided we could just unpack.

When the doorbell finally rang Lilly and I both shot up to answer the door. Ready to feed our growling stomachs.

We open the door and low and behold a hot guy and some hot pizza awaited us. And the light blush on my sister's cheeks told me she agreed. "Daito" his nametag read, had a light sprinkling of red as well, Oh yes, this could work.

"Oh thank goodness you are here, " I said grabbing his arm and pulling him inside, he seemed slightly freaked out but continued to put on a brave face.

"I know this is totally unexpected but, we need someone to help move this couch, and I know a strong man like yourself could easily do so." I better my eyes and slightly pouted, many people couldn't say no to this face.

"W-well I guess I could help, you are my last delivery." Daito stuttered. He gave the pizza to my sister, who was now pretty red and bent down next to the couch. A purple glow surrounded the grey cushions and Daito lifted the sofa with ease.

I truly hadn't expected him to do it by himself, but when he moved it to my indicated location I was astounded.

"That was amazing, I honestly meant help but that was wonderful." I praised, he blushed but nodded his head. I elbowed my sister who was still in shock, either from bringing him in or his strength. Though many people had quirks, none really had physical strength all that much anymore.

"y-yes thank you." she said and looked away. Must I do everything myself? Ok fine.

"So, do you have a girlfriend?" I inquired bringing an even bigger blush to his face. But he shook his head no.

"Hiroko you can't just ask stuff like that." Lilly turned to me puffing her cheeks in anger or embarrassment. Either way, she was red.

"I'm so sorry Daito, may I call you that, my sister is very ill-mannered, " she bowed in the process. I just rolled my eyes, it had been years since bowing was considered proper etiquette. I would definitely have to relearn, speaking I was only 6 when I left.

N-no it's okay, I'm just suppressed such a young girl would be interested in me." He said, I giggled at his response and pointed my head to the side. Indicating I wasn't the one I was asking for.

"W-well we don't want to keep you from your evening any longer." Lilly grabbed her yen and placed it in his hand. "Thank you for your help."

She thought she was going to win this, how naïve. I quickly wrote down her number and called out to the pizza guy, bending down to "pick something up"

"Oh wait, you dropped this" I exclaimed, giving him the paper and winking. Giving another toss of my head towards my sister.

When he closed the door and tall shadow appeared above my head.

"What did you DO!"

A week had passed, bringing the hero exam. I was nervous, I didn't have a backup plan, and this school was about being the best of the best. I had to fight the best to be the best, and it sounded exhausting. But being a hero was no feat, so of course, it was going to take hard work.

"You have everything you need?" Lilly asked worriedly as she brought me to the school, she decided if I made it into U.A. she could get the accounting job just two streets away, making dropping me off in the morning relatively easy.

"Yes, older sister who is getting on my nerves I have everything I need," I replied back, she only grimaced at me but didn't take it to heart. I hopped out of the car, taking in the school.

A big sign read "entrance exam". I kept practicing Japanese just so when I came back I could actually in sweat and what many people where talking about but I knew I was rusty. But Japanese was way easier than English, so many rules.

I looked up just in time to see a messy green hair fellow get stopped from tripping. He honestly looked familiar but I couldn't quite place him.

When the girl that seems to make him float put him down, he just stood there.

"Hey, are you ok?" I asked, wondering if the girl's quirk had effected him. However, when he faced me I instantly recognized him. "Kuku?" I exclaimed

He looked confused at first, but recognition was easy to read as his eyes opened wide.

"Hiroko?" Kuku asked, I nodded my head quickly and threw my arms around him. I couldn't believe it, my old best friend was right in front of me.

"W-What are you doing here?" he stuttered I was about to tell him when I remembered how late we where.

"No time, come on we have the test today." I said. He nodded his head and followed after me. We got our cards and quickly took our seats in the auditorium.

Kuku sat next to a spikey-hair boy, who I couldn't really see over Midoriya's large hair. They seemed to know each other but didn't say anything.

Ten minutes later the auditorium was full and soon enough lights started illuminating the stage. With none other than Present Mic screaming out to us.

However after a mumble from his other friend he was quiet.

"After I drop the mic here you'll head to your specified battle center, sounds good?" There was silence after Mic's announcements.

"I'm in center C," I added after Kuku turned back from the spiky dude.

"Yeah, I'm in B." He said I scrunched my nose to express my annoyance.

"What's spiky in?" I asked, Kuku looked confused at first, but when I pointed behind him he stifled a laugh.

"You mean Kacchan?" He asked, my eyes widened at the name. Kacchan the big bully who basically harassed the poor kid?

"Kacchan?" I asked, "as in big bully from second-grade Kacchan or.." Izuku only nodded his head. He didn't look like he hated him, perhaps this Kacchan grew out of that phase. but I'm sure Izuku Midoriya couldn't hate anything, so maybe nothing's changed.

"H-he's better l, I mean sometimes h-he gets mad but he doesn't hurt me anymore." Kuku, stuttered, indicating that he wasn't telling the whole truth. Even if we only knew each other for a year or two, he still was my best friend. And his ticks were easy to read.

"If I see him do anything to you I'll kill him." I threatened, both of us knowing that I wouldn't actually. I was usually level-headed, but everyone had passion behind anger, I was no exception.

"I-ok." He answered I smiled back at him.

"Sorry, I know you can handle him, even if you are quirk-less I know you can take care of yourself," I said, trying to make him feel better. I didn't need him feeling bad during the exam, he needed to believe in himself.

Izuku only looked down but nodded his head. I questioned it but a spotlight burst from above, landing on a standing student a few rows down.

I'm not sure exactly what he said, but he scolded the Pro hero in front of us, talking about how we shouldn't have to deal with improper forms. I looked down at the paper and then the screen in front of me, reading quickly to understand what I missed.

"Additionally, you two with the unkempt hair and braid," Both me and Kuku looked at each other then back to the overachiever.

"Huh." We answered

"you've been talking this entire time," he continued, "Stop that. If you can't bother to take this seriously then leave. You're distracting the rest of us."

"Sorry," Kuku answered, I just sat there with my mouth open. We weren't even that loud.

For another 10 minutes, Present Mic continued to explain the process, and soon enough Izuku and I went in Opposite ways.

"Good luck," I called running toward the bus, going to take me to section C.

For a few minutes of the exam, I used enhancements of speed and strength to take down many opponents. Though I didn't keep track of what I scored.

I was running out of time when I saw the 0 pointers. Just avoid point 0, he said, HOW. It was stories tall and could be seen from across town.

I was going to walk away when I saw a boy with bright red hair running out from its feet. He looked scratched up, but altogether he was holding up well.

His skin looked hard as a rock, probably his quirk. He looked up just as a huge shadow fell over him. It was going to crush him.

I tried to run as fast as I could wanting to pull him away from the huge "villain." I grabbed his arm and yanked him into the underside of the 0 pointer.

"Cool hair," I said, he looked astonished and slightly confused. I smiled at him when another step was taken from the metal monster.

"Uh, thanks." He said, still slightly taken back. I nodded and ran to the side of the street when I had an opening. I looked back to see if he was ok, sure enough, he had followed me.

"No problem." I was about to take off, and him the same when the alarm blared to life. "Oh, I guess we're done."

"Names Kirishima Eijiro." He said I smiled at that. I honestly thought someone with such a wild and fierce style would have a different introduction. And not to mention he was kinda cute. Definitely, someone, I would like to hang around.

"I'm Hiroko Bushida, nice to meet you," I said, extending my hand. I shook it and we continued on to the exit. "How do you think you did?"

"Not bad, but I know if I hadn't gotten trapped from underneath that 0 pointer I would have done better." He turned to me, seriousness in his eyes " you could have to."

I blushed despite myself, a cute guy just talked to me with such seriousness I couldn't help it.

"Nah, then I couldn't have been talking to you now," I said easily. Flirting became a natural defense against being flustered. He only smiled though, which was good, I didn't want to scare him off.

"Yeah, well I better get going. I'm actually pretty soar." He said, bringing his arm to rub his back. I nodded and waved as we parted way.

"Hopefully I'll see you soon," I yelled over my shoulder. I was exhausted, and the walk back to my apartment Lilly and I arranged didn't sound fun. The bus back to the main school was quiet, everyone apparently was tired.

The main entrance had the rest of the examinees. I looked for Izuku but I couldn't see him, wondering if there was another drop-off. However, I shrugged it off and continued to walk through the gates. Making my way back to my apartment to take a well-needed nap.

Two weeks of insufferable waiting kept me on edge. Until one night Lilly came home with a letter in her hand.

"ITS U.A." She exclaimed, quickly trying to open it.

"Hey," I yelled, running over to grab her arm and flip her over the couch. "Not your letter."

When I tore it open the 3D projection of All Might appeared above our heads. I gave my sister a confused look, to only have her return it.

"I am here." All might rang out "As a projection." Again it made no sense, I didn't even realize he was still in this city.

"I am not just in this city for Heroing, I am here to be a teacher for U.A." I raised my eyebrows I'm surprised, I was not expecting that. "Now Hiroko Bushida, you got 35 hero points for the practical exam. But that's not the only part of the process.

"We had a secret panel of judges watching for rescue points. Saving people even if it interferes with winning is a big part of being a hero. And you saved young Kirishima, a heroic act indeed."

A clip played showing how I saved the horned-haired boy from being trampled. The sheer determination on my face showing the world how much I truly wanted to save him.

"Which gave you another 40 rescue points." Now all night was looking at the camera, giving a perfect dramatic effect. "You earned yourself the 3rd spot, and passed."

Surprise, she passed. Ok, so Iv'e just went over this, i didn't change anything except for deleting the suffix's. I know in some of the fanfics they do that, but I- don't wanna do that, at all. Especially since i have no idea how. And i swear this was so cringe, but i think it gets better. Ok, thanks for reading. Enjoy your day.
