Disclaimer: I own Hiroko that's about it.
Introductions
I was late. Lilly had a last-minute call into the office this morning, Which meant I had to get to class on foot.
I had entered through the main gate, seeing a girl my age running up as well. I followed the signs to my class and realized the girl was going to the same place.
"Hey, you're in 1.A too?" I asked, grabbing her attention. She turned to me and smiled before nodding.
"Oh, yes, are you my classmate?" She asked I nodded my head while observing her, She was about my height and build, but where I was more toned she had thicker curves. She had shoulder-length brown hair, big eyes, and a bright smile. Altogether she was adorable.
Before I could properly answer, her attention was caught elsewhere. To a certain messy haired boy. I smiled brightly, happy to see he had made it.
"Hey, I recognize that messed-up hair." She beamed, gaining the attention of Kuku and the boy who yelled at us from the exam. "Falling boy."
I stifled a laugh at the name she called him. Blocking out most of what she was saying. Izuku's face got increasingly red the more she talked to him. If I hadn't been so excited and proud that he had made it I would have started my matchmaking plans but...
"IM SO PROUD OF YOU," I exclaimed, throwing my arms around him. "I knew you could make it."
"Hiroko, too tight.." he gasped from under me, I let him go but took his shoulders keeping him in front of me.
"Ooo, I can't help it, my Kuku, getting into U.A. and didn't need a quirk. Who said it couldn't happen?" I was absolutely ecstatic, he had been working for so long just to get where he was standing, and it felt good just watching from the sidelines.
"um, he has a quirk." The yelling boy said, I squinted at him and looked back to Izuku.
"No, no I don't think he does." I claimed back. Entirely confused, either this guy knows something I don't know, or he's just as confused as I am.
"if you're just going to be wasting time then you can pack up your stuff and leave." a voice called behind us. All of us slowly turned around to find a dude in a yellow sleeping bag.
"Welcome to U.As hero course." he continued on, bringing a squeeze to his mouth.
What the heck is that thing?
"It took 8 seconds for all of you too shut up- that's not gonna work." it continued on, slowly rising to be above my head. (which wasn't much by the way) "Time is precious, rational students would understand that."
The sleeping bag slowly slid off the man, leaving behind tried eyes and messy hair. His grey scarf wrapped multiple times around his shoulders, with yellow goggles hanging from his neck.
"Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa, your teacher."
Our class collectivity gasped. This was going to be a rough year.
Mr. Aizawa started pulling out athletic clothes and ordering us to put them on.
"Kuku, do you know him?" I asked, bringing myself closer to him. All the while our class was practically running toward the locker room. Izuku shook his head but started mumbling about which Pro hero he could be. I snickered at his old habit but continued on.
"What a quirk easement test?" The entire class said at the same time. Restating what our teacher had just told us. The outside training courts had were just behind the building. Line son the ground indicated that they had a more specific purpose than just practice.
"But what about the orientation." The girl from earlier called from beside me. "We're going to miss it."
"If you really want to make the big leagues you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies." The teacher shot back. "Here at U.A., we aren't tethered to tradition. That means I get to run my class however way I see fit."
"You've been taking standardized tests you're whole lives, but you haven't been able to use your quirks." He showed the test we would be taking on his phone, he turned to a familiar spiky head boy. He was hot, no doubt, especially with that jawline
"Bokugo you scored the most points in the entrance exam. What was your farthest softball throw in junior high?" Oh so he was the number one, that's very impressive. But if I remember correctly he didn't have any hero points.
"67 meters. I think." He answered, his voice slightly raspy, which again was ho- ok Hiroko stop drooling.
"Ok now try it with your quirk, anything goes, just stay in the circle," Aizawa spoke, almost board. The boy walked toward the circle, stretching as he did so.
"That's Kacchan," Kuku said, whispering loud enough for me to here. I quickly turned around almost breaking my neck. My eyes were wide at the thought.
"Huh," I asked, praying I didn't here right.
"That's Katsuki Bakugo, Kacchan." He said again clarifying. I stared in horror as I watched the spiky-haired boy blast the ball far into the sky. How the two managed to be on different levels of power but ending in the same school astounded me.
"You never told me he was hot." I shot back, low enough for only him to here me.
"Well, I... what?" He asked, turning to look at me, I turned to him still disbelieving.
"Why is it that the cute ones are always evil?" I exclaimed to him. however, it was loud enough to gain attention from my classmates. "Heh, sorry."
"ALL, of you need to know your maximum capability,." Mr. Aizawa said, turning around to give me a pointed look. I looked to the ground to avoid his dead like glare.
He took his phone and showed us the results. 705 it read.
"Oh wow," I said out loud, entirely impressed. even if he was a bully, I could appreciate strength.
"I wanna go," a pink girl said, her hair the color of her skin, with twisted horned coming from her head. She looked pretty cool, definitely need to make friends with her.
"That's what I'm talking about, us using our quirks as much as we want." A boy with weird-looking elbows and black hair said.
"So this looks like fun huh?" Our teacher asked calling for our attention "for the next 3 years here to become hero's, you think it's all gonna be playtime?"
"Idiots." He smiled creepily, bringing his hand block his hair, finally letting us see his whole face. "Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential, the person who has come in last will be expelled immediately."
We all gasped collectively. I worked hard for this, no way did I want to be sent home, the same goes for the rest of the people here. Especially Midoriya, even if he built up, he couldn't possibly beat certain quirks.
"You got this," I said under my breath, hoping he could hear me.
The first test was short distant running.
I was up against the girl again, and I decided it was time to stop calling her "the girl"
"Hey, I'm Hiroko Bushido, by the way." stretching as I said it.
"Ochako Uraraka." She responded, stretching as well "nice to meet you." She smiled at me, and I couldn't help but melt. She was just so cute. Especially with her remaining blush always sparkling on her cheeks.
We made our way toward the feet placements, readying ourselves. I concentrated on feeling the energy rushing towards my legs for speed and strength.
When the gunshot went off I burst toward the ending line. Earning myself a 4.49 seconds. Not bad if I say so myself.
I turned around expectantly waiting for Uraraka-San. She had gotten a 7.01, not the best, but better than average.
"Hey, your eyes where just brown, why are they purple?" Uraraka asked,
"The pigments in my eyes increase or decrease with however I use my quirk," I told her, she looked at me confusingly. It had a lot to do with scientific properties and DNA structures, which wasn't fun to explain. so I chose the easy explanation. "I have an enhancement quirk, I can improve any physical or mental attribute for a period of time, which you can see through the colors of my eyes."
"That's so cool," she gushed, "All I can do is affect gravity, but if I use it too much I throw up." Ew, but kinda cool.
"Hey, that means you could fly, at least once you stop throwing up." She giggled at my comment smiling as she walked toward another test.
I waited expectantly for Kuku, hoping to find what
When Izuku was up he was going against, spiky-haired hottie. I meant, spiky-haired bully. At the gunshot he used his blasts to propel himself forward, making his quirk useful. Kuku however started running. Which I expected.
"4.13 seconds."
"7.02 seconds."
The two times being called out by the electronic voice. I jogged over to the end line and waited for Izuku to ketch his breath. Noticing that McBlasty was just a few feet away.
"My power has more uses than everyone else's at this school." The blonde said to himself. I snorted at the thought, however gaining his attention.
"That's a bit egotistical don't you think," I said, a smile on my face, amused that someone actually thought this highly of themself.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY. YOU BRAIDED LOSER." He screamed out. Red eyes staring me down. Ah, so he's worse than what Kuku told me. Good, I like a challenge.
I smirked at him eyeing him from head to toe. He was taller than me, but who wasn't? His spiked hair adding to his fierce gaze, red eyes staring down at me.
"My names Hiroko Bushida, nice to meet you," I said, holding out my hand, knowing he wouldn't shake it.
"Katsuki Bakugo and I look forward to beating you." He said, and edge to his voice, ready for a fight.
"I look forward to the challenge," I responded back, keeping my eyes locked with his. Guys like him demanded respect, so you had to as well. We stared at each other waiting for the other to break, but only when I winked did he respond.
"Don't get in my way." He said, walking away from me.
"H-how did you do that. That's the calmest I've ever seen him." Kuku asked, coming up to me. I smiled at him and tilted my head.
"Because I'm adorable," I answered,
"Huh?" I laughed at his response, his eyes had gotten big and looked so confused. I turned to Bakugou who was walking toward the next physical test.
"I'm just kidding, guys like him demand respect, so if you give it to them without cowering they don't focus on you." I answered, but then I turned back to him and smirked: "too bad I want his attention."
"America changed your Hiroko-Chan." He said, still taken back by my response. I laughed loudly at the thought. Remembering all the times where I hadn't said what I really wanted out loud. All I had done was to say what was on my mind.
"C'mon Kuku, we have more tests to take."
I had been getting relatively good scores on each test. However, I noticed Midoriya was scoring low, at this rate he was the one going home.
It was his turn for the softball throw if he didn't pull through he was –going to be expelled. I couldn't amp up hist strength unless I was touching him, and I don't see how that would go unnoticed.
He looked ready and threw the ball. The voice saying a 42. Significantly lower than many of us. Kuku looked confused, he had been hoping for something farther, so was I. But Aizawas hair and scarf rose from his body, creating a dangerous atmosphere.
"I erased your quirk."
Huhhhh. What quirk? There's nothing to erase.
"The judges for this exam were not rational enough. Someone like you should never be allowed to enroll at this school." Mr. Aizawa said, hair still standing. For a kid without a quirk, I'm sure someone like Izuku sure surprised the judges. If he could work toward it he could easily take out many villains, the judges just saw his potential.
"Wait you did what to my..." Kuku started, "Ah, those goggles, I know you, you can look at someone and cancel out their powers. The erasure hero, Eraser Head." Who came up with that name? Seriously who thought that was the best option.
"Eraser? Who's that?"
"Oh, I've heard of him."
"I think he works on the down-low."
"Your not ready, you don't have control over your power." Eraser Head continued, were you planning to break your bones again, counting on someone else to save your useless body?."
"Hey!" I screamed before I could stop myself. "Izuku works just as hard as everyone else here, and sure he doesn't have a quirk, but that doesn't mean he can't be a hero."
My classmates around me gasped just as I realized what I had done. I had just yelled at the teacher that threatened to expel someone for not being the strongest in the class. So why did I have to go head to head with him? Next time, THINK before you act Hiroko.
"Maybe before you start shouting your foolhardy speeches, you get your facts straight, Ms. Bushida," Aizawa said, not taking his eyes off Izuku. Huh?
Before I could speak again, The Erasure Hero used his scarf to grapple Kuku and bring him closer.
What did he mean to get my facts straight? Maybe Aizawa wasn't denying that he could be a hero. Maybe Kuku didn't work as hard as I thought. No, he had been excepted into this school. Less than 2% got in, that was no small feat.
After a moment Aizawa let him go. Saying one last thing before letting Izuku try again. Kuku looked as determined as ever. I smiled, ready for him to show the world the fight in him, I just couldn't wait till he could prove them all wrong.
"I wonder if our teacher gave him some advice." Glasses said, asking no one in particular.
"He probably told him to start packing." Explosion boy said. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his response,
"Always so negative are we?" I teased. He growled in response.
"I'm not the one defending the quirkless loser." He replied I turned to him, facing him completely.
"That quirkless "loser" is going to be a better hero than you, especially with that attitude," I said completely serious. "But your cute so you might be popular with the girl's." Smirking as I turned around.
"SAY THAT TO MY FACE. ILL KILL YOU." I only ignored the spazzing boy behind me. Making him even more mad. But before he could get an attack, which was certainly coming, Kuku threw his ball.
Air shooting out from underneath it, bringing up some of the ground as it soared toward the sky. Speed and pure power being showcased from the boy who had none.
All our jaws dropped, especially those who knew who he used to be. So that what Mr. Aizawa meant, he had a quirk, he wasn't quirkless. But how?
Izuku turned toward the class, looking straight at our teacher. One who had previously doubted him.
"You see." He said, "I'm still standing." He was gripping his arm which led to the most broken looking finger I had ever seen. Such power, but from where. I couldn't give him that, even if I was using my quirk on him.
Izuku Midoriya I don't know what's going on, but I do know, you have a quirk.
Thanks for reading, have a nice day.
