We watched as All Might stood amongst the rising smoke, glaring at the villains. Hand Man stood there, shaking, panting, and scratching at his neck. Kurogiri, Portal Man, stood behind him not showing any evidence of worry.
"What's wrong? Not attacking me? Didn't you say you were going to clear this level earlier?" The pro Hero taunted. He cast his eyes downward before challenging the villain, "Well, come and get me if you dare."
Hand Man almost growled out in anger. His body shaking in anger. He didn't say anything, however, only continuing to shake.
"Man this is… intense," I agreed with the boy beside me, feeling the tension in the air.
"As I expected," Todoroki agreed. "There's no reason for us to fight now. He'll handle this."
"Yeah, and I'm starting to regret not taking your advice." I hissed in pain, shaking from both the cold and exhaustion. I quickly looked to All Might, feeling selfish for wanting to leave, but tried to convince myself otherwise. I mean even if All Might was losing his powers, he was clearly doing okay. I nodded my head and continued on. "Besides, if he's here, that means our other teachers should be on their way."
Kirishima nodded and turned toward Kuku, who was now standing closer to All Might. "Common Midoryia," He said, "We should regroup with the other guys. The last thing we want to do is get taken hostage or get in his way." I nodded quickly and felt a shudder run down my back at the idea of being taken hostage.
I surveyed the scene one more time, watching as Kuku stood still. His body was rigid, staring at All Might and the exchange between the villains. My eyes drifted to All Might, studying his movements. With the cloud of smoke, I could barely see below his torso, but I felt my body pale at what I could see. Exhaustion, I wouldn't be so sure if I didn't see the way his body seemed to be shaking similar to the way mine did. Granted, my eyes could just be vibrating.
"What?" All Might said. "Are you scared?" his taunt seemed to have the intended effect when Hand Man jumped back. Once again, the villain began to scratch at his neck, before he spoke.
"If only Nomu was here," he said, still scratching at his neck. "He'd rush you right now and pound you into the ground without giving it a second thought." I rolled my eyes at this villain's childish words, never have I ever met a villain that acted so much like a 5-year-old in my life.
"Tomura Shigaraki!" the villain beside him reprimanded. I was shocked that the calm demeanor of the portal villain was broken as he yelled the name of his colleague. "Please, do not fret. Look at him. He has definitely weakened. Nomu's attacks were successful. He's on his own. The children appear to be frozen in fear." I scoffed at that, I was not afraid of this man-baby and his portable sidekick, especially with the four very capable boys standing beside me. The only reason we hadn't attacked, was that we knew All Might was up to something, which I'm now starting to reconsider, and because I can't move without limping. I shook my head in anger and let out a sigh but otherwise, I didn't speak.
For once
I'm starting to dislike our conversations.
"And, look, our underlings are recovering." Kurogiri said, I looked around and instantly sobered. He was right, the knocked out villains started to grumble, some of them even beginning to stand up. I tapped on Katuski's arm and gestured to the rising villains with a nod. His eyes flashed with alarm, but quickly the emotion replaced with determination and excitement. " We likely still have a few minutes before their reinforcements arrive. If you and I work together we can do this, we haven't missed our chance to kill All Might."
"Yeah, yeah you're right." Shigaraki said, ceasing his scratching. "This is it, we have no choice. We have to do it now. I mean, the big end boss is right here." I growled at his words but felt helpless. I was completely useless, knowing full well that I was having a hard time keeping my body upright, let alone fighting.
My breath felt shaky but I watched when Todoroki, Kirishima, and Bokugo all turned around, facing the rising "underlings". All three going rigid for the fight.
"I think All Might can hold his own for those two main guys." My red-haired friend said, activating his quirk. "Let's make sure these guys don't hurt anybody else."
"Will you be joining us?" Todoroki asked Kuku, and while he stood there the Ice Hero's eyes started scanning over my injuries. I tried to shake off the exhaustion, readying myself for the unwanted fight but his words stopped me. "Stay behind us and use as little energy as you can." he commanded and I couldn't help but sigh in relief. I wouldn't help unless it was necessary.
The ice hero then turned to Kuku, who continued to stare at All Might. I couldn't help but get worried again, and if it was any indication of the constant slip ups, then Kuku seemed to know way more than he was letting on. And if it was related to what I had heard earlier today, which I suspected, then he might have a very good reason to do so.
"Midoryia, are you coming?" I didn't know what to think anymore. Clearly my friend was worried, and probably had a reason to be, but I didn't want him to hurt himself if his suspicions were incorrect and resulted in being a hindrance to All Might instead. Secretly, though, I hoped that Kuku would help All Might, even if the pro didn't need it. I knew that he had always been selfless when we were little, and I can honestly admit that his attitude towards life and the people around him impacted my choices. If it weren't for him I'm not so sure I'd even be as dedicated as I am now.
However, now that I think about it, Izuku injured his arm when he tried using his quirk, was that normal? Did it happen every time? I sighed deeply, confused as to what the correct choice of actions would be.
I didn't get much time to think about my new found question of the day when Man-baby, I mean Shigaraki, came sprinting toward All Might. I panicked when I realized that I'd have to sit back and watch my classmates and teacher fight while I stood back.
"Consider this revenge for what you did to Nomu." He yelled, Kurogiri not far behind. The villains continued to advance, yet All Might didn't do anything, He only stood rigid. I wanted to do something but a small blast of wind had me stumbling back. I clenched my teeth at the pain striking through my ankle, but focused my attention back to the now Izuku-less area in front of me. I snapped my head up and saw the unruly green haired- boy flying through the air, high above the two villains, but dragging their attention to him.
"Get him, sweetheart," I said subconsciously.
Oh wow, that's awkward.
Shut up, I don't see you being any help.
"Woah, Midoriya." Kirishima said in awe.
Izuku began pulling his arm back before yelling out in anger, " Don't you touch All Might. You stupid villians." I glanced at Katsuki, feeling the insult was a result of his influence, before turning back to see Shigiraki's hand through the portal's villain's body, reaching his fingertips dangerously close to Kuku's face. I gasped in horror, not knowing this man's quirk made me even more scared of what might happen. He could have the power to kill by a touch, and the idea made me scream out for him.
The sound of a gunshot ripped through and covered my scream. The bullet drilled its way into Shiguraki's hand, stopping the villain's attempt. Kuku fell to the ground, somehow stopping himself from falling to the Hand-man's grasp.
"They're here." All Might proclaimed, turning his head toward the source of the gunshot. I followed his line of sight and saw our teachers standing at the entrance of the USJ. two more shots sounding off from a certain pro hero.
Staring in awe, I watched Present Mic use his quick, knocking down or disorienting the villains below him. It was almost off putting seeing the ridiculous english teacher look so much like a hero. Blasts sounded off as the pro heroes began descending down the stairs and further into the SJO.
Shguraki cursed under his breath before standing back up.
"Aw, man. The pros are here." he said, backing up into the now spread out portal man. His mist like flam portals began to spread again. "Let's go home and try this when we can-" he began turning toward his colleague, but the villain fell to the ground as three more shots hit both of his legs and remaining arm. Bullets kept firing, but the portals spread around the injured villain, shielding him from any further harm.
I didn't know what to look at as 13 used her quirk to suck kurogiri and his portals into the black whole she could harness. Heavy winds raced around us, my body falling to the force and slipping back, before strong hands gripped my elbows and my back . I looked above me to see a very angry boy and his red eyes in deep slits.
"Useless." He growled out under his breath. I didn't care enough to respond, only keeping my mind away from the fact that he was so close. And that his chest seemed to be as sturdy as a wall. Or even the fact that his hands felt so warm against my cold arms, stopping my shivering, which I hadn't even noticed during the rising commotion.
I felt a small giggle rise from my throat but I pushed that way deep down, my cheeks were already red from being this close to him, I did not need that. I put more weight back into my leg, and off of Katsuki, getting disappointed. He stepped back and his face reddened in anger. Now that he wasn't so close, I felt my body get cold again.
"- your days are numbered." Also, my brain started to function again. "All Might, symbol of peace. I will kill you." Handman's eye stared back at All Might as his body disappeared into the Kurogiri's portal, his words seeming to echo in our minds.
The winds stopped and all became surprisingly calm.
It was over.
I felt my muscles release the strain they'd been holding, feeling my body relax where I hadn't noticed it was being worked.
Soft grunts were heard and I looked to the source, Kuku layed, body shaking in pain.
"Kuksu." I mumbled out, my eyesight blurring for a second. Ignoring the small blackout, I took a step to check on him, but my body tumbled to the floor, or would have if Katusuki wasn't so close. He grabbed at my elbow again, keeping my body from hitting ground, but I hund there, almost limp in his hand. I cursed my legs for giving out from under me, my mind knowing that the danger had passed. It must have been a weird sight to see, my body hanging only from my elbow. Being supported by a clearly angry boy.
"Idiot," The boy holding me reprimanded, he yanked my arm up and brought me to my feet. "He's fine and you're just being a nuisance."
"Ooo, big word." I laughed out, feeling his eyes bore into mine. I put my head down in submission, not feeling up to fighting him. "Thanks." I looked back up to Kuku, seeing that my worry was not because he stared at his hero with wonder and excitement in his eyes. No matter how injured he looked.
McBlasty mumbled under his breath before letting me go. I hissed in pain again but stood next to him, standing myself in case I fell.
"Alls right, babes." I called out to the boys, and the teacher, in front of me, once again feeling dizzy, but instead of falling again, I grabbed what was next to me and used it as support. "This girls is drained, so I'ms going home, I see you tomorrow."
My eyes drooped as I cursed myself legs again for giving out. But this time i didn't stay awake long enough to know what happened next.
I know it's kinda short, but if I didn't pots now it might take forever. Thanks for reading and enjoy!
