Chapter 5

Miguel didn't know what to think. Robby had just asked to join Cobra Kai. The more he thought about it the more it made sense. With Robby in Cobra Kai, they would dominate the Valley, and Miyagi Do would have no chance of defeating them.

"Alright yeah, we'll let you join, but you have to start at the beginning and work your way up just like the rest of us. You also have to earn our trust because as of right now, none of us really know you." Miguel told him. He hoped Robby got the message. Miguel didn't trust Robby but he didn't want to alienate him either. The other boy was a fierce fighter.

"I'm fine with that. This will be a lot better than the whining that goes on at Miyagi Do. All they ever do is complain about the exercises that Larusso puts them through." He told them. To Miguel who only ever heard his Sensei tell them to stop acting like a bunch of Pussies and do the drills it sounded like he made the right choice in dojos.

"Well now that that's settled let's get you a beer and you can join us in the party," Miguel said as he thrust the beer that Tory handed him into Robby's hand. "Initiation is simple, chug three beers. You do that and we'll let you stay." Miguel was bluffing, of course, he just wanted to see what Robby would do. Robby took the open beer from his hand and looked around. Miguel was shocked when he started to chug it.

Robby

Robby wasn't sure what to do, but he chugged the beer anyway. The stuff was disgusting. He had never tried the stuff before, not wanting to go down the same path his parents did. Both needed some major rehab, even if his dad looked like he wasn't sauced as much since he started the dojo.

"So are you going to hand me the next one or not? I thought this was a party." He said looking around at the Cobra Kai students. Miguel, Tory, and Aiesha were looking at him amused, while Hawk and the rest looked mistrustful. He couldn't blame them since just yesterday he had been an adamant Miyagi Do who disliked anything Cobra Kai.

"Look, I know you guys don't trust me right now but I would like to earn that trust. Please give me the chance to prove to you guys that I can be one of you." He directed the plea to Miguel as the boy was Cobra Kai's first student and the leader. Hawk had claimed second in command even though Aiesha had been there longer.

Miguel was quiet for a few moments. I felt like sweating as I waited for him to say something about my explosion. He just stared at me before he finally nodded and told Hawk to hand me another one. I downed the second and third beers, after that the rest of the Cobras started to warm up from ice cold to somewhat chilly. The party lasted for another couple of hours before people started to head home until it was just Miguel, a very drunk Tory, and myself. I wasn't sure where I was gonna spend the night so I settled on helping Miguel take Tory back to his place and maybe going to see my dad. I guess if I want to be in Cobra Kai I was going to have to talk to him. After we got Tory into Miguel's room and he tucked her in, we then walked outside and talked a bit. I found out the reason he was so close to my dad. Johnny had helped him when Sam's now ex-boyfriend Kyler and his buddies were pushing him around. I now understood and I wasn't upset anymore like I was before. Miguel is actually pretty cool and I hope we can be friends.

I decided I was going to go talk to my dad, so Miguel and I walked to my dad's place and knocked on the door. I heard swearing from inside and the door flew open. My dad stopped short when he saw me.

"Robby, what are you doing here?" My dad just stared at me with a look of disbelief on his face. I didn't answer at first. I was surprised that he didn't look like he had a hangover.

"Dad, can we talk? I have some things I need to say and something happened tonight that you need to know about." He nodded and stepped aside to let us in. Miguel was silent the whole time. I was shocked that my dad didn't even acknowledge him.

"So what happened? What are you guys doing here this late? Is everything alright?" He asked. He looked worried and that was a look I had never seen on him before.

"We're ok Sensei. You know how I told you there was a party at Hawk's ex-girlfriend's house? Well, Sam LaRusso got very drunk and went outside. I saw her leave and got up to make sure she was alright. She started propositioning me, wanting to get back together. Then she kissed me. I shoved her away and told her that I was with Tory and that wasn't changing. She got upset and started talking crap about Tory. I told her to stop but she kept going and I finally lost my temper and I punched her. She still didn't stop and even hit me. A fight broke out between us and then both the dojos got involved. The point is that I went too far in my fight with Sam and Daddy LaRusso will either be calling the police or coming over here to demand answers." Miguel finished the story. I noticed he didn't say anything about the fight he and I had or that I had nearly drowned him in the pool.

"When I took Sam home Mr.LaRusso was furious. He was ranting about his daughter's injuries and calling the police. He and Mrs.LaRusso had gone to talk outside and I confronted Sam. She admitted to being the one to start the argument and instigate the fight." Dad didn't say a word during the entire explanation. He was about to say something when someone started banging on the front door. He got up and opened the door and on the other side was Mr.LaRusso.

Johnny POV

"LaRusso! What are you doing banging on my door this late at night?"I demanded. After what Robby and Miguel had told me I had lost all respect for this man and his daughter. It seems growing up with money makes people spoiled brats.

"You're student beat my daughter and you expect me not to come and demand answers?" He looked around and saw Miguel and Robby in the kitchen. He rounded on Miguel "What were you thinking? What, hitting my daughter once wasn't enough you had to go and beat her too? What the hell is wrong with you? You're lucky I haven't called the cops yet." He finished. I stepped in front of him blocking him from approaching the boys.

"Maybe you should calm down and listen to his side of the story before you go accusing people of things LaRusso." I told him, "Miguel, go ahead and tell him what you guys told me." I motioned for Miguel to start and he retold the story again. I could see the disbelief on LaRusso's face as the story was told. I could tell that he didn't believe a word of it. I saw Robby with his phone out and I was curious what he was doing.

"Daniel LaRusso, you need to come home now so that we can talk. Johnny if we could get together to discuss what happened tonight?" Larusso's wife didn't sound happy so I quickly agreed and started to lead him to the door so he could leave when he turned and asked Robby why he was here.

"I'm sorry Mr.Larusso but after I found out what happened tonight I knew I couldn't stay with you guys any longer." Robby looked sorry

"We can all meet tomorrow to discuss tonight Larusso, for now, please leave." I told him. After he left I sent Miguel home and set Robby up on the couch for the night. I laid in bed thinking about everything I heard and it only reinforced my thoughts about the Larusso family. Minus the wife and possibly the son the rest were lacking in common sense and respect for others. I was finally able to fall asleep thinking about what tomorrow would bring.
