Halt leaves Gilan and Will home alone while he runs some errands. He left Gilan in charge, which is never a good thing to do. They stumble upon Halt's stash of Nesquik, and using his knowledge of what people in the future do, Gilan decides to experiment a bit.

What would happen if Erak and his crew went to New York? Would they ever get home again? What damage would they do while they were there?

Will returns to Araluan after his time in Skandia. He wants to rest and recuperate but life does not allow for that. A problem from his past arises and comes back to haunt him. Will he uncover the mystery or will he fail this time?

When Will gets asked to investigate a series of murders in the neighboring fief of Sandorne, he hardly expects the chaos he will find. Disappearing bodies, drunk officials, and curious little girls are only a small part of it, and the weave of a rope happens to be more important then previously believed.

Will and Halt are sent to Nihon-Ja a second time, to tie up any loose ends with Shigeru, and Shigeru insists they explore some of the Nihon-Ja culture while they're there. Namely... a bath house. Will and Horace get caught in a scary situation, and Will has to save the both of them with double knife defense. Horace faints from relief afterwards. (WARNING: This will end in character death eventually. But don't worry, it's not Will ;) )

Will, Gilan, Halt and Horace are sent out on a mission to catch four escaped fugitives from Araluen. So, the normal stuff. Everything is going smoothly... until it's not. Halt, the most enigmatic person in the whole series, is revealed to be a Hibernian Prince *gasp* and this is how I'll make it. Halt has a mallet trying to drive a wedge into his head, so it's only natural for his apprentice to unintentionally make a huge amount of noise, but of course, he cares more than enough to make it up. Set during Will's apprenticeship, slight Father/son!Halt/Will.

This story takes place after the battle of Ron-Koshi but before Will proposes to Alyss. The title will become apparent later in the story, but it will focus on all of the characters that were in "The Emperor of Nihon-Ja." This is my first fic so please review.
