Fallon is a seventeen year old with a little sister. They are on the run after their village is raided by bandits. They run into two men in funny looking cloaks that remind her of an old man she once knew. Suspicious, they reluctantly agree to eat. Shortly after, a discovery is made. Don't trust the summary. It sucks. Story is better than it sounds. Rated T for a bit a violence.

Halt, younger and (not really much) kinder, finds a stranger badly wounded on his doorstep. She's shrouded in mystery, covered in dirt and blood, and possibly ruder than Halt himself. The next day, she's gone. How will he react seeing her again, thirteen years later? What's more, she remembers nothing of him or the Ranger Corps. AU for the whole story. Spoilers. When I read books, I tend to develop the characters (extensively) in my head. So, here is what I think Halt O'Carrick looks like. Minor spoilers for all books.

Captain Murray, hidden behind his past controls Gilan to perform a dreadful task which leads to Gilan leaving Arluan with a mark on his back and alone. He struggles mentally and physically. Each boy thinks the other likes the princess, and it bothers them greatly. With a gentle push from Evanlyn, Will and Horace soon find that they like each other rather than the princess.
