"It's called a what?" Kankuro had no patience to read the thick document that Shikamaru had handed him. In fact Shikamaru was the person to write up all fifty pages, so there was no purpose to read it when Shikamaru could just explain it.

"It's on page 5" Temari angrily informed her brother as she snatched the packet from him, finding what he was looking for, then handed it back to him.

"How did you guys expect me to know that, if you just gave me the packet an hour ago."

"He expected you to use that hour reading instead of messing around." Temari said in Shikamaru's defense. However, she knew that Kankuro usually concentrated on his work, so him not focusing really confused her.

"It's called a train, and Konoha already has a prototype going around the village. But because Suna is our biggest ally we think it's best to try and connect those two villages first...I have to meet with someone real quick. But lord sixth is over there and wants to talk to you" Shikamaru hurried off to another part of the construction site, and already from a distance they could see Kakashi walking up to them.

"Glad that the two of you could make it" Kakashi smiled under his mask as he stood with Temari and Kankuro, overlooking the construction sight.

"Suna feels honored that you would include us in this project lord sixth." Temari slightly bowed, showing her appreciation. Kakashi chuckled because it reminded him of how formal Shikamaru is when he speaks to him.

"No need for the formalities Temari. Suna has been our closest ally and knew it was necessary to include you guys-"

"Lord Sixth" Shikamaru walked over to them, and both Temari and Kankuro noticed the man standing next to him. "Kaminarimon-San needed to speak with you"

Shikamaru walked away with Kankuro and Temari, and began showing them the construction.

"So we've-" Shikamaru began to explain but was cut off by Temari. And shinobi Temari was completely different than girlfriend Temari so her sweet side was replaced by the harsh tone that was known throughout the ninja world.

"How safe is this thing? And what improvements is it about to make for people?" She folded her arms, waiting for an answer as she looked at all the machinery and workers build the railroad.

"Before we contacted you, we built one just in Konoha and for the past few months there has never been an accident. And it's a bit faster than some of our shinobi-"

Once again Temari interrupted him and now he was getting frustrated, but he knew she was asking all these questions for the sake of Suna.

"Shouldn't it be faster than all of our Shinobi for it to be beneficial?"

"I couldn't outrun it" Shikamaru chuckled to himself, as he admitted to them.

"Shika! Did you run near that thing. You could've gotten ran over!" Temari felt like hitting him, but they were in public and she thought it would be best to let him finish his story."

"I know, I know. But as I was saying I couldn't outrun it, in fact the only people that could was Lee and Kiba. And Kiba barely outran the train. But it can be a quicker source for importing and exporting goods, So trust me Tem when I say it's an improvement for all."

"I guess you're right, but I still have my suspensions about these things-"

"And so do I" Shikamaru cut her off, with his voice being as gentle as it could just so Temari wouldn't get worked up over this. "I know your main concern is for Suna, but I wouldn't jeopardize the place you love for Konoha's sake."

Temari didn't understand, but for some reason that last statement gave her butterflies, then she began to blush and after that she just couldn't help but to stare at him. Maybe it was because he had put Suna as a priority solely to make her happy, or maybe it was the way he tried to make sure everything was okay for her. But whatever the reason was, it made her feel as if they had just started dating.

"Tema" Kankuro waved his hand in front of her face, making sure she was fine after watching her stare blankly at Shikamaru for a minute. "Are you sick?"

"No, umm" Temari could barely get her words out trying to act normal as possible. "I'm fine"

"Well your face is super red, and you're kinda just staring. I'll walk you back to the house if you're not feeling that great." Kankuro didn't know what was wrong but he seen the redness from her face quickly erase."

"I'm not sick and we have a ton of work to do, so I'm not going anywhere."

oooooooooo

"Damn I'm tired" Shikamaru walked out of the bathroom, with only a white towel wrapped around his waist. Temari had already taken a shower and was now sitting on the bed reading over the plans for tomorrow.

"We did a lot of work, the train is almost to ame-" Temari noticed how quickly he changed into his night clothes, and what she also noticed was him opening the drawer that was on his side of the bed. At first she thought nothing of it, until she heard the flick of his lighter.

"No smoking in the damn house!" Temari yelled, knowing that she probably had woken up Kankuro. But she didn't care, what she cared about was her boyfriend's health.

"But Tem, i haven't had one all day-"

"And I would like to keep it that way. You know how I feel about those damn things Shika" Temari watched as he took a deep breath and put them back in the dresser. She noticed a distressed look on his face, but it didn't just happen now. She noticed all day as they were working.

"What's wrong, and don't say nothing because somethings been off about you all day."

Shikamaru knew it was pointless to hide his feelings so he sat on the bed, facing away from her and just began to tell her.

"Do you think this relationship is really going to work out?"

"What the hell?! Are you trying to break up with me?" Temari didn't wait for him to finish explaining himself before tears began falling from her eyes. This was the only man she's ever loved, and she put all her effort into making their relationship work, so of course she was hurt.

"No Tem, I love you and the last thing I want to do is hurt you." Shikamaru finally turned towards her and noticed all the tears, he couldn't help but to embrace her and that's what he did as he grabbed her. Temari didn't object and know she was laying there on top of him with her head buried into his chest. "Today I seen how concern you were with Suna, and it only shows how important it is to you. It's your home and your family is there-"

"I keep telling you that you're the most important person in my life. My brothers will always be my family, but we're starting our own family in this house that you've made. I'll always love Suna, but I'll be able to visit whenever I want and with my brother being kazekage he's always traveling here." Temari looked into his eyes to ensure that he was listening to everything he was saying. "My life is going perfectly because you're in it...Do you understand?"

"Yea, I do." Shikamaru wiped the tears from her face before he made his grasp around her tighter, showing that he didn't plan on letting her go anytime soon.

"Good, now get some sleep I don't want to hear your complaining tomorrow." Temari gently placed her lips on his and soon she felt his frown turn into a smile.

Shikamaru just chuckled, and in two seconds he was sleep, and so was Temari.
