I was watching Xena the other day and thinking about when Xena and Gabrielle's relationship crossed the line from friendship into more than that. This is the result of my musings. A rather sweet story of how friendship can turn into romance. Set in season 5 after episode 2, it's mostly canon but I have taken some liberties regarding Xena and Gabrielle's previous relationships.

After the death of her lover and the Fate's prediction of the beginning of the Twilight, Ares and Xena's relationship becomes strained. How long had the two of them expected to carryon this cruel game that had been so close to friendship? The tides have shifted, things have changed. Something is coming...Will it be War between them?

What will Xena do when she is proclaimed a "rogue" Chosen by The Gods? Can she accept Ares's help, and trust him- in order to save herself? Starts during "Lost Mariner."

Screenplay format. I originally wrote and posted before the Dahak arc (grumble). This pre-supposes that a certain son of the Warrior Princess makes it to adulthood and has an incredible mark on history. It is historical fact that the first democratically elected leader in Greece was named Solon. This, therefore, is my story of that event. Enjoy.

I will eventually write more Xena/Gabrielle stories once I finish a few other works that I took down a few years ago.
