It appeared to be a normal day as usual at UA. There had been some buzz around the joint training lesson with students from other schools, but besides the usual gossip about the other students everyone was not expecting much. As the UA teachers gathered in the staff room to make last-minute preparations for the visiting students, the topic on everyone's mind was of course what the lesson would be about. Most of the time, Principal Nezu was very transparent about what would be included in special lessons. However, there were times when the rodent principal would keep almost everyone in the dark until the lesson began. While this lack of information did annoy some of the UA faculty, they all knew that Principal Nezu would never endanger his students. So in the end, while it was somewhat aggravating it was not a huge cause for concern.

Accompanying the UA teachers was the new UA nurse known as Miss Checkup. Miss Checkup was a tall but willowy Japanese woman with short black hair and green eyes. Almost always seen wearing a doctor's lab coat or medical scrubs, the quiet and timid woman was the replacement for Recovery Girl. The iconic Recovery Girl had retired a few years before the Midoriya triplets started school, mostly because her age had finally caught up to her. While she still had plenty of fighting spirit, it seemed that Recovery Girl's age had finally started taking a serious toll on her body. It had been a bittersweet goodbye for the longtime nurse of UA, but Recovery Girl had made sure to personally appoint her replacement so as to ensure that the school would be in good hands. Recovery Girl had also managed to imbue a limited quantity of liquid imbued with the power of her healing quirk. While the effective speed of the healing liquid was not as fast as the original quirk, it still had the same effect. Of course it was only to be used in dire situations or emergencies, since there was a limited supply.

At first glance, Miss Checkup might seem to be a generic doctor. However, underneath the timid exterior was a veteran medical professional who excelled in her craft. Miss Checkup was a trauma specialist, and in fact had spent her internship treating and caring for injured pro-heroes during the era of the Paranormal Liberation Front. Her quirk was known as "Asclepius Sight", a powerful ability that allowed Miss Checkup to instantly analyze the health and condition of any living being she looked at. Where modern medical machines and tests might take hours or even days to accurately pinpoint what might be wrong with a person's body, Miss Checkup just had to glance at someone to instantly diagnose them. However, Miss Checkup's quirk was only good for understanding what was wrong with someone, not actually healing it. So to improve her medical abilities, Miss Checkup became a master of surgery and other medical treatments. In the Japanese medical community, Miss Checkup was widely regarded as a prodigy in learning new methods of healing as well as pioneering several revolutionary techniques of her own.

"I swear Nezu does this just to keep us on our toes." Midnight grumbled loudly for everyone to hear as she double-checked the schedule. "He can be a real pain in the ass sometimes. Is all this mystery really needed just for a special lesson with other schools?"

The gunslinging teacher named Snipe chuckled as he reviewed the list of visiting students. "Nezu has his reasons. Part of me thinks he just wants to surprise us all with something."

"What I don't understand is why Miruko and I are part of this lesson." Eraserhead sighed tiredly. "We each have our first years to teach."

Eraserhead paused, clearly expecting a response. Looking over at Miruko, he noticed that the normally boisterous teacher was unusually quiet as she busied herself with looking at the itinerary.

"Miruko…" Eraserhead said suspiciously. "Do you know something?"

Flinching slightly, Rumi looked up from her clipboard and laughed nervously. "What? Me? No, of course not! I totally don't know who is going to be there!"

Eraserhead stood up from his chair and gave his nervous coworker a stern look. "Miruko, you are a terrible liar. What do you mean by who is going to be there?

Before Rumi could answer, the intercom beeped loudly.

"All assigned staff, please report to the training grounds."

"Oh! Time to get to work!" Rumi said loudly before rushing out of the staff room and away from the grumpy Eraserhead.

Eraserhead sighed in annoyance as Midnight and Snipe chuckled.

"Well I guess we're about to find out." Snipe drawled as he ambled after Miruko. "Don't worry 'bout it Eraserhead."

Eraserhead grumbled as he followed Snipe and Midnight out the door with Miss Checkup close behind. "I have a bad feeling about this."

The special training session was going to take place in one of UA's expansive training areas. A meticulously constructed facade of empty buildings and streets designed to mimic a generic urban environment. Along with UA, the two other schools taking part in the special lesson were Shiketsu High School and Ketsubutsu Academy High School. Each visiting school had two teachers and twenty students, with both second and third year students from various hero classes making up the student groups. The UA group had the same number of students, but more teachers. The supervising UA teachers consisted of Snipe, Midnight, Miruko, and Eraserhead. Each student was wearing the training outfit they normally wore during practical hero lessons.

Some standard metal benches had been erected in a generic soccer field, with each school getting its own seating so as to differentiate the three schools. Along with the visiting students, three observers from the Hero Commission were in attendance as well. Dressed in generic black suits and armed with electronic tablets, the three observers stood off to the side and only conversed with each other in short exchanges. Of course, the students (and some of the teachers) were intrigued as to why Hero Commission observers were in attendance. Many students were speculating that the joint training lesson might be a secret evaluation test that could improve their chances of getting into prestigious hero internships.

Standing near the UA students, Rumi quietly sighed with dread. As soon as Izuku showed up it was almost guaranteed that the UA teachers were going to have something to say about it.

There were no secrets between Rumi and Izuku anymore, so of course Izuku had informed his wife of the situation shortly after his phone call with Nezu. While Rumi supported her soulmate's decision wholeheartedly, it did not change the fact that there would certainly be some tension between her and the other teachers after this event.

Shaking her head to dispel the gloomy thoughts, Rumi focused on doing her job and supervising the students. After a few minutes of idle chatter, the crowd fell silent as Principal Nezu emerged from a nearby building and walked over to stand in front of the assembled students and teachers.

"Welcome everyone!" Principal Nezu said cheerily as he adjusted his tailor-made suit. "I am glad to see everyone is doing well and ready to learn! Today is a very special day, for not only do we have the opportunity to learn with students from other schools, we also have a special guest speaker!"

There was a wave of excited murmurs from the assembled students, and Rumi's enhanced hearing could pick out speculations as to who the guest speaker might be.

"However, we have one thing to address before we begin." Nezu said clearly. "As you may have noticed, we have observers from the Hero Commission here with us as well. I can tell some of you ambitious students are hoping that this lesson will be an opportunity to gain favor with the commission, but that is not the case. They are simply here to ensure that your teachers are educating and training you to the best of your abilities. So do not try to impress them. Your focus should solely be on learning and improving yourself today!"

As Nezu finished his speech, a sedan with tinted windows pulled up behind him and came to a stop.

With a somewhat sinister grin on his face, Nezu gestured to the car behind him. "Now, please welcome the guest speaker of the day! Mr. Midoriya!"

As the students clapped politely, Izuku emerged from the car and walked over to stand next to Principal Nezu.

Rumi could already feel Eraserhead's glare burning into the back of her skull, but simply ignored it and clapped politely as the rest of the UA teachers whispered to each other.

Dressed in combat boots, tan cargo pants, and a green t-shirt, Izuku looked very normal to anyone who did not know him. Standing next to Principal Nezu in a parade-rest stance, Izuku nodded politely to everyone.

"Welcome Mr. Midoriya!" Nezu said enthusiastically after the round of applause ended. "Why don't you introduce yourself to those of us here who might not know you."

Clearing his throat, Izuku stepped forward. "Thank you Principal Nezu." There was a moment of silence before Izuku continued. "Hello everyone, my name is Izuku Midoriya. There might be some of you here that know me, but I am assuming that most of the students do not. First off, there are two things that I will address right away. The first is that I am Miruko's husband."

Immediately there was a gasp from the assembled students and Rumi could feel everyone's gaze turn to her.

Izuku then continued. "The second thing is that I am quirkless."

Well that certainly got just as much, if not more, attention than the first statement.

After waiting for the chatter to die down, Izuku continued his introduction. "As far as my experience goes, I was a lieutenant in the JSDF as well as a member of Japan's special forces. After leaving the armed forces I joined the Ministry of Defense and spent several years working there as a field agent." Izuku paused for a second before continuing. "Now I understand that many of you are skeptical about me, which is understandable. So instead of trying to convince you myself I decided to have some friends of mine lend some credence to my claims."

Right on cue, Iida and Yaoyorozu emerged from the sedan dressed in their hero outfits. Immediately there was a wave of audible excitement from the assembled students as Iida and Yaoyorozu went to stand next to Izuku.

"I am sure almost all of you know who my friends are." Izuku said with a smile. "But I will introduce them formally. These two are Ingenium and Creati, two of Japan's top-rated pro heroes."

Shaking hands with Iida and Yaoyorozu, Izuku gestured to the starstruck students. "Thanks for being here you two. Could you back me up and prove I am not here just for a publicity stunt?"

Iida nodded with a wide smile. "Of course Mr. Midoriya!" Turning to face the students, Iida immediately began speaking loudly. "Mr. Midoriya here is the real deal everyone! He personally trained me back when I was a student here at UA, and was instrumental in exposing a villainous plot that nearly crippled the Ministry of Defense! I look up to him as the epitome of strength in the face of adversity, and you will not find anyone better to teach you how to become stronger!"

Nodding in agreement, Yaoyorozu stepped forward and spoke with the clear voice of someone used to speaking to crowds. "I wholeheartedly agree with Ingenium. In fact, Mr. Midoriya had a hand in training not just the two of us, but a number of my former classmates as well. Pro-heroes you are probably familiar with like Red Riot, Pinky, Uravity, Chargebolt, and Earphone Jack. We all respect Mr. Midoriya to the highest degree, and one could attribute his mentorship to the success we have had as heroes."

There was another round of applause, and Rumi could easily see a slight blush on Izuku's face after hearing the testimonies of the two pro-heroes.

Suddenly, Eraserhead stepped forward and walked over to Principal Nezu.

Under the gaze of many curious eyes, Eraserhead spoke flatly to the grinning principal in front of him. "Sir, with all due respect I have to ask why you brought him back again?"

"Because he is a great source of experience that would benefit everyone here." Nezu said calmly. "Do not worry Aizawa, I promise it won't be as bad as last time…probably…"

Obviously not satisfied with the vague answer, but clearly not willing to argue in front of a crowd, Eraserhead huffed angrily and walked back to his original spot. Rumi rolled her eyes as Midnight and Snipe whispered to each other. While Eraserhead acted like a hardass with his students, all the other UA teachers knew he was secretly protective of those he taught. To be fair, the last training session Izuku led at UA was a bit traumatic to say the least, but it ended up working out in the end.

As Izuku began setting up for a presentation, Rumi was broken out of her musing by a quiet voice from behind her.

"Umm…Miruko?" Miss Checkup said shyly. "Does Eraserhead not like your husband? I have never really seen him that concerned about a guest speaker before."

Sighing in resignation, Rumi shrugged. "It's a little complicated, but the short answer is that Eraserhead might respect Izuku professionally, but he has a bit of a grudge against him."

"Why?" Miss Checkup said curiously as she brushed a strand of black hair off her white lab coat.

Before Rumi could speak, Midnight had snuck up behind her and spoken first.

"Because the last time he was here he beat the absolute shit out of the students he sparred with." Midnight said bluntly. "Sent all but one of them to the infirmary, and the last one he verbally abused so badly we thought she was going to drop out of school."

Miss Checkup's eyes widened in horror and looked at Rumi expectantly as if to verify that Midnight was not exaggerating.

"Well when you put it like that it sounds kinda bad." Rumi said defensively.

Midnight sighed. "Miruko I get that he is your husband now, but you seriously can't deny that he was pretty brutal."

Rumi crossed her arms and huffed in annoyance. "Fine, yes he was kinda…heavy handed. But at the time he was working through a lot of stuff. He has mellowed out a lot since then. This time won't be as bad…I think…"

Miss Checkup looked a little pale, then Eraserhead decided to add his opinion.

"Miruko you do understand why I am concerned right?" Eraserhead said flatly. "Your husband operates on a completely different mindset than normal people, hell even most pro-heroes would be scared of him. We are here to teach and to guide our students without putting them in serious danger. End of story."

Rumi frowned and crossed her arms as she replied to Eraserhead. "Aizawa, I get where you are coming from, but do you seriously hear what you are saying? I remember the day I lost my arm, and I specifically remember first year interns from UA going up against Gigantomachia, Nomus, and murderous villains. How is that not considered serious danger?! A bunch of pro-heroes fucking died that day, and you had your students right there on the battlefield with them! So dont fucking talk to me like my husband is a monster because of his training methods. I would rather have a student learn a painful lesson here than get killed out in the field."

Standing her ground, Rumi continued to stare down Eraserhead until Snipe stepped between them.

"Alright cool it you two." Snipe said in a friendly but firm voice. "We ain't here to bring up the past. Focus on your duties as educators right now, you can argue later."

Forcing herself to take a calming breath, Rumi nodded. She liked to think she was less hot headed than she used to be, but whenever someone started talking badly about Izuku it never failed to get her blood boiling.

"Right, my bad." Rumi grunted before turning away from Eraserhead and back to the presentation.

With a large holographic projector behind him, Izuku began his presentation.

"Alright let's get started." Izuku said in a commanding tone. "While I am not a pro-hero myself, I have plenty of combat experience from my time as a soldier. One of the biggest problems I see in the newest generation of pro-heroes is the lack of understanding and caution around firearms."

The holoprojector clicked and a rotating image of a generic handgun appeared behind Izuku as he continued his lecture.

"Why do you think most firearms are banned in Japan?" Izuku asked rhetorically. "It is because even the smallest gun has the capacity to cause serious injury and death to almost anyone. Even after quirks became commonplace in our world, the majority of deaths worldwide are caused by guns. A gun has a singular purpose, and it will never have any other use. When a gun is used, it will do harm to something or someone. Guns can make even the weakest person a threat, especially if the person wielding the gun knows how to use it."

Izuku paused for a second before continuing with a deadly serious look on his face. "That is why it pisses me off when I see pro-heroes take guns lightly. Sure, depending on your quirk, bullets might not even hurt you, but that is not the problem."

The image behind Izuku changed, showing a cartoon caped figure posing triumphantly, but behind the caped figure were bodies of innocent bystanders filled with bullet holes.

"The problem is the complete disregard for everyone else around them." Izuku growled. "Bullets do not care what stops them, whether that be a brick wall, or the guts of a civilian. Just the other week I saw a news clip of a pro-hero stopping a bank robbery. The pro-hero marched right through the front door of the bank and used a forcefield to block all the bullets the robbers shot at him. He had no clue that many of those bullets ricocheted off his shield and were sent flying off somewhere else. Luckily because he was inside nobody got hit, but if he had been outside when he deflected those bullets any one of them could have ricocheted and hit an innocent bystander."

There was a short pause before Izuku continued. "What I am trying to say is that the biggest problem is ignorance." Izuku concluded. "Many pro-heroes these days simply do not bother to learn how guns work, and as a result there is a greater chance for tragedy to happen."

Rumi nodded in agreement. She used to be exactly as Izuku described, until she learned the hard way. Shortly after she had made her debut as a pro-hero, Rumi had come across a mugging in progress and intervened. In the process of taking down the handgun-wielding mugger, the gun had gone off. At first Rumi paid no attention to it, but after knocking out the mugger her ears picked up the sound of pained screams from across the street. Running over, Rumi then saw a woman laying on the ground in a pool of her own blood. Long story short, the bystander survived, but the bullet had pierced her spine and severed her spinal cord.

After taking the woman to the hospital, Rumi was told the lady would never be able to walk again.

It was one of the first harsh lessons Rumi had learned at the start of her pro-hero career, and after that incident Rumi had practiced relentlessly in ways to properly disarm gun-wielding opponents.

Looking around at the assembled students, Rumi saw plenty of nervous or pale faces.

Walking over to a folding table with several gun cases on it, Izuku retrieved a blocky handgun from its padded container.

"It is one thing to tell you about something…" Izuku said authoritatively. "But real-life examples are much better at conveying lessons in my opinion."

Quickly making sure the gun was not loaded, Izuku held the pistol in one hand and a single bullet in the other. A small camera drone floated nearby that transmitted what it saw to the holoprojector. Behind Izuku, the holoprojector displayed an enlarged view of the items in Izuku's hands.

"This is one of the most widely distributed handguns in the world." Izuku said as he held out the pistol. "It is cheap, easy to conceal, and can even be made entirely out of 3D-printed parts. It shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger, and can hold anywhere from ten to thirty rounds depending on the magazine." Izuku then held up the small bullet. "It shoots nine millimeter bullets like this one. While the bullet itself may be small, by no means does it make it any less deadly."

Rumi watched as a simple helper robot came into view pushing a low cart carrying some kind of life-sized fake human body. The body was mostly made out of some kind of clear gelatin, but it also appeared to have life-like organs inside as well as many major arteries. Coming to a stop close to 15 feet away from Izuku, the robot quickly erected a metal stand then placed the gelatinous human upright so that it was standing facing Izuku. As the robot exited the area, Izuku gestured to the human replica.

"This is a test dummy typically used for testing purposes." Izuku explained to the assembled students and teachers. "It has all the organs of a standard human being along with all the major arteries. Obviously, not everyone in the world has a standard human body, but for today's lesson this is what we will be using."

As Izuku loaded the handgun, UA robots carrying large panes of bulletproof glass came to a stop in front of the audience and held the glass panes up in front of the audience.

Making sure the area was clear, Izuku took aim and fired the handgun. Several of the students flinched at the sudden gunshot, and Rumi watched as the bullet immediately buried itself in the guts of the test dummy. Making sure the handgun was safe, Izuku walked over to the dummy as the camera drone followed close behind him.

"At first glance, you might think that a gunshot wound like this is not that serious." Izuku explained as he pointed at the dummy. "However, the danger with bullets particularly is not the entry wound itself, but the damage you cannot see."

As the camera drone zoomed in, the holoprojector displayed the eerie sight of blood steadily leaking from one of the major arteries and pooling inside the dummy.

"I don't know how advanced each school's first aid training is." Izuku said as he watched the dummy bleed. "So I will just go with the basics. What you are seeing right now is major internal bleeding. The bullet has cut one of the major arteries and if this was the body of a real person they would be dead in roughly five minutes. Sometimes the injured person that is bleeding internally might not realize how much danger they are in until it is too late."

Giving a gesture to the helper robot nearby, Izuku loaded the handgun again as another gelatin test dummy was brought in. Walking back to his original spot, Izuku took aim and fired a single shot. Once again, the bullet buried itself in the dummy's guts, and the camera drone zoomed in to inspect the damage.

This time however, the bullet from the handgun had come to a stop near the stomach and there was almost no internal bleeding to be seen.

Walking over, Izuku gestured to the test dummy as he spoke. "As you can see, this time there is little internal damage. Obviously getting shot like this hurts, but as far as life-preserving functions go the important stuff is undamaged."

Making sure the handgun was unloaded once again, Izuku turned to face the audience directly. "I hope you all now understand the point I am trying to make. Guns are dangerous no matter what. Sometimes a person gets shot and they get lucky, the bullet misses any vital parts of their body and they end up with a cool scar. Other times, a person is shot and they die on the spot. If you want to be a pro-hero and be the best in the country, you should never take any chances."

His eyes narrowing, Izuku gestured widely to the area around him. "If you are dodging a thousand bullets at once you need to be lucky the whole time, but only one of those bullets is needed to end your life."

Gesturing to the robots, Izuku walked back to the table of guns as the test dummies were taken away. "Alright, I am done lecturing you all. Now to move on to the fun stuff."

Pushing a fully-loaded magazine into the handgun, Izuku grinned as he turned to face the crowd of students. "As plenty of you probably know, it is easy to explain stuff with words. However, I find that lessons are easier to remember when you take a hands-on approach."

Rumi sighed silently, she already knew where Izuku was going with this.

Eyeing the students in front of him, Izuku spoke in a slightly taunting tone. "Apparently you kids are some of the best from your schools, let's put that to the test."

Immediately Eraserhead stepped forward to object, but Izuku held up a hand to stop him. "Don't worry Eraserhead, these are rubber bullets. The worst they will leave with is a bruise."

Turning to look at all the other teachers. Izuku ejected one of the bullets from the handgun and held it up for the camera drone to inspect. "These are training rounds that the military uses all the time in training scenarios. They are mostly made out of rubber and I am not going to be aiming at a student's head. If anyone does not want to participate feel free to step off to the side and observe. Getting shot by one of these bullets is painful, but not lethal in any way."

Izuku then gave a pointed look at the observers. "The purpose of this exercise is for the students to show their abilities and skills. I am in no way trying to hurt them for fun. It is a simple test in disarming a dangerous individual with a handgun. Students will participate one at a time. I will stand a medium distance away from the student and aim the gun at them. The student will have two seconds to disarm me in a non-lethal manner of their choosing. If they do not succeed I will shoot them a single time in the arm or leg with a rubber bullet. It is a simple exercise to ascertain the capabilities of the students here."

Putting on a reassuring smile, Izuku nodded to the students. "Honestly you guys have probably had more painful lessons in your hero classes. Don't worry, you will be fine."

There were a few scattered laughs from the students, and Rumi could not help but smile proudly at her husband. The difference between the teaching styles from this current lesson and the sparring session years ago was night and day, and Rumi felt confident that Izuku would leave a good impression on everyone.

As Izuku got ready, Rumi heard Midnight laugh softly.

"So far it seems Miruko was telling the truth." Midnight admitted. "This version of Izuku is way less scary than the first time. A little rough around the edges still, but at least this time he actually seems to be properly teaching."

Snipe chuckled and nodded as Eraserhead simply grunted apathetically. The scarf-wearing teacher clearly still wary of Izuku no matter how much it appeared he had changed.

Clearing his throat to get everyone's attention, Izuku examined the assembled students. "Alright, before we get started is anyone stepping aside to observe? No shame in it, I just don't want to waste time."

None of the students answered, the majority simply waiting attentively as the observers and teachers looked on.

Smiling, Izuku nodded understandingly. "Well I can't fault you guys for not having confidence. Alright then, let's get started." Pausing, Izuku looked over the assembled students before speaking again. "Okay, I know just who to start with."

Turning to face the UA students, Izuku spoke loudly with a grin on his face. "Arai! Time to show me what you can do!"

Immediately, everyone turned to look at the black-haired teenage girl who looked like a deer caught in the headlights. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Arai finally seemed to realize that Izuku was telling her to come up to the front.

Quickly making her way up to Izuku, Arai smiled nervously. "H-hey Mr. Midoriya…umm…I think I kinda am starting to get why Uravity is such a big fan of yours."

Chuckling, Izuku shrugged. "No big deal. Sorry for making you go first."

Taking a deep breath, Arai shook her head. "No problem. Kinda nervous but I wanna make a good impression."

Nodding understandingly, Izuku gestured to the open area of the field. "Dont worry about it, just show me what you can do."

After the two took their places in the open area, Izuku spoke to Arai reassuringly.

"Like I said, just disarm me in whatever way you want." The green-haired man said calmly. "Obviously dont send me flying into a building or cut off my hand, but just do whatever you feel works best."

Arai nodded silently as she took a fighting stance. Nodding in return, Izuku chambered a round in the handgun and aimed it at Arai.

"Begin when you hear the beep." Izuku instructed. "You have two seconds to disarm me or you get shot."

Rumi watched intently as everyone went silent in anticipation. Suddenly there was a loud beep from the camera drone and Arai burst into action. Immediately clapping her hands together in front of her, Arai released a shockwave that ripped the handgun from Izuku's grasp and sent it flying. Steadying himself from the pressure of the shockwave, Izuku nodded respectfully.

"Simple and straightforward." Izuku said with the hint of a proud smile. "Good job Arai."

A happy smile breaking out on her face, Arai bowed respectfully as the audience clapped politely.

Turning to face the audience, Izuku gestured to the grinning Arai. "That was a great start to the exercise. No frills or fancy moves, just a simple and effective attack that gets the job done. As a pro-hero your priority should be getting the job done, not showing off for the crowds or cameras. Alright, who wants to go next?"

Immediately dozens of hands shot up eagerly, making Rumi and the other teachers chuckle.

As one of the helper robots retrieved the handgun, Izuku looked around at the volunteering students and chose randomly. "Okay, you there." He said as he pointed at a student. "The boy with the blue hair from Shiketsu, your turn."

As Arai walked back to her seat, the student from Shiketsu eagerly jogged up to Izuku and bowed politely.

"Nice to meet you sir!" The teenage boy said energetically.

Izuku nodded back courteously as the helper robot handed him his handgun. "Same to you. Alright get in position. Same thing as you just saw, wait for the beep to start."

Squaring off with the armed Izuku, the blue-haired boy narrowed his eyes as everyone waited for the starting signal. As soon as the camera drone beeped, the boy clenched his hands and started collecting freezing water into a ball in front of him. Right before the boy appeared to launch his attack, Izuku fired his pistol and shot the boy in the leg with a rubber bullet. Immediately falling over from the painful impact, the boy grimaced and clutched his leg as the ball of water fell to the ground harmlessly.

As soon as it was clear the boy had failed, there were a few laughs and giggles from the students. However, before Rumi could reprimand the students Izuku let loose a stern shout that sent a chill down Rumi's spine.

"BE QUIET!" Izuku roared with the authority of a veteran drill-sergeant.

Immediately the crowd went silent. Looking around Rumi could see that even some of the other teachers had been shocked speechless.

Walking over to the boy clutching his leg, Izuku helped him to his feet. It was clear to Rumi that the boy was deeply embarrassed, as he simply stared at the ground silently while trying to hide the bright red flush on his face.

Glaring at the students, Izuku spoke with a cold and vicious tone. "It is amazing how in one second you all made my opinion of you drop to rock bottom. This young man made an honest effort and you all decided to belittle him for trying his best. Shame on you. This is not the time to be acting like brainless children! You are here to learn skills that will keep you and others alive, end of story. If you are not going to take it seriously then I recommend you drop out of your hero class right now. If any of you keep that sort of attitude as a pro-hero, then the best you will ever be is a pro-piece of shit."

Most of the assembled students stayed silent, a few had incredulous looks on their faces, but for the most part it seemed Izuku's words had struck home.

Rumi watched proudly as Izuku patted the blue-haired boy on the back reassuringly.

"That was a good try." Izuku said firmly. "From what I could see your technique was solid, just a little slow. There is no shame in failing as long as you pick yourself up and try again with the intent to improve."

The boy nodded silently then limped back to his seat as Izuku scowled at the students. Immediately pointing to a blonde girl from UA, Izuku called her up to the front.

"Just because I have ties to UA doesn't mean I will go easy on you." Izuku growled. "Since it was so funny to you when that last kid failed, let's see you go next."

The girl's eyes widened fearfully as she slowly stood up. Rumi watched as she looked over at the UA teachers pleadingly, but was only met with shrugs or apathetic stares. Slowly walking up to Izuku, the girl came to a stop in front of him.

"I'm sorr-" The girl started to say, but was cut off by an irate Izuku.

"Don't apologize to me." Izuku interjected coldly. "If you meant it you would apologize to the kid you laughed at. You are just scared of me. I expect you to do better than him since you seem to think this is easy to do."

Nodding meekly, the girl walked over to the open area as Izuku took his spot.

"Same rules. Wait for the beep." Izuku said bluntly as he aimed his pistol.

The tense silence was then broken by the mechanical beep from the drone. Quickly the girl rushed forward as she conjured some sort of glowing staff from thin air and swung it at the gun in Izuku's hand. Right as the staff was about to connect with the gun, Izuku simply sidestepped the blow and shot the girl in the knee. The girl's leg immediately buckled, sending her falling to the ground with a soft thump.

Sighing disappointedly, Izuku looked down at the sniffling girl.

"Mediocre." The green-haired man said coldly.

Looking over at the assembled students, Izuku was met with either averted eyes or silence.

"Like I said." Izuku said firmly as he gently helped the girl to her feet. "If you make fun of someone for trying their best, you are no better than a bully. End of story."

As the girl stood silently with tears in her eyes, Izuku tapped her shoulder.

"Hey." He said gently. "Would you please look me in the eye?"

Slowly the girl turned her head to look at him, clearly bracing herself for another verbal beatdown.

Izuku pointed to the staff on the ground that was slowly fading away. "Be careful about closing the distance with an armed opponent, just because you can hit them doesn't make them any less dangerous. With a staff like that your best bet is to use the reach it gives you to your advantage. Also you don't always have to go straight for the gun. For example, you could sweep the legs then knock the gun away as they fall. Food for thought."

The girl quickly went back to looking at the ground, not giving any response to Izuku's words.

Izuku sighed and simply shrugged. "Alright, off you go."

As the girl limped back to her seat, Izuku looked at the rest of the students. "Alright let's continue. As long as you all take this seriously we won't have any problems. Who wants to go next?"

-A/N-

Sorry for the slow updates everyone. It feels like it was only a few months ago that I started writing these stories, but it has already been a couple years. I will be honest, having to balance my adult responsibilities like my job, education, bills, and free time has really cut down on my writing time. On top of that even when I do have the time to write, some days I am simply so worn out or overwhelmed that I just cant muster the willpower to write. However, none of that changes the fact that I want to give you guys a good story to enjoy. If I pushed myself I definitely could get these chapters out faster, but the quality would most likely decrease. I will make one thing clear, I hate leaving things unfinished. I know we all have experienced getting deeply invested in a fic on this site, only to find out that the author abandoned it halfway through. It frankly sucks, especially when you see a note from the author saying some like "on hiatus" which we all know means abandoned. If I ever abandon story, I just delete it. It has happened a few times already, and people sometimes ask about those deleted stories. But I don't want to give people false hope by leaving the stories up and giving a lame excuse like "I might finish it later" or something like that.

Sorry for the rambling btw.

In short, I am committed to finishing this story. Life is Simple, Love is Not (the prequel to this story) was popular beyond my wildest expectations and I deeply appreciate all the positive reviews and constructive criticism it got. Of course there will always be trolls and mean reviews, but that is what any internet writer should expect so I don't really mind. Some days when I am feeling shitty about myself, I go back and read the kind words you guys left for me. It might not seem like much, but considering I used to be in a place where offing myself was a tempting choice, writing stories for faceless strangers on the internet was what kept me going.

Alright, enough of the sob story. To everyone still reading this, I appreciate you all and I hope I will be around for a long time to keep writing stories.

Sincerely,

TheSandwichGhost
