Chapter 4:

Sunlight streamed through the moth eaten curtains, casting light to the millions of dust particles floating through the room, bright morning light laid across the faces of the two teenage boys waking and quickly remindng them of the first cons about drinking. The hangover. Harry opened his eyes and quickly shut them again, moaning in pain while pressing the palms of his hands against his temples,

"son of a bitch, whyyyy!" Ron felt like his stomach was rolling and his head felt like it might explode.

"Oh my god, Voldemort won't get the change to kill me, this headache might do the job for him." Harry attempted to shove his head under his pillow to try to block out the atrocious brightness when he felt his pillow glide up and out of his fingers. He stared at his hands confused and turned to look at Ron who also had a look of shock and confusion on his face as the pillow that was under his head a second ago, was no longer under his head.

"You should see the looks on your faces! Hangover getting to ya?"

Harry looked at the door and there stood Sirius with both pillows in his hand and Remus standing behind him with an amused expression on his face.

"What the hell padfoot, give that back, my head is killing me."

"yeah Sirius bloody hell." Sirius just kept hold of their pillows, big smile still sat on his face.

"Follow me, we'll take care of that hangover." He turned and walked out the door and downstairs, not giving either boy a chance to respond. Remus still had that same amused look on his face and shook his head, he turned and waved his hand,

"come on lets go kids." Ron slowly got out of bed and followed Harry into the hallway where they ran into Ginny, Hermione, Fred, and George, who looked as bad as Harry and Ron felt. The group trudged slowly to the dining room where the adults, Sirius, Remus, Molly, Arthur, and Tonks sat around the table on one side, on the other side sat 6 glasses of what looked like red sludge, and 6 empty chairs.

"Sit down kids and drink up."

Chimed Molly from the other end of the table. One by one they sat down at an empty chair and picked up the glass,

"what-,"

"don't ask, just drink," Tonks interrupted Hermione.

The girls looked at eachother and scrunched their noses in disgust before Ginny picked up her glass, plugged her nose, and chugged. Hermione quickly followed suit. The boys, not to be made to look like wimps, grabbed their glasses and did the same.

Immediately Harry felt better, his head was no longer throbbing, he didn't feel like he had to puke, nothing.

"Bloody hell-."

"Amazing isn't it?" Sirius looked at the kids fondly, "James and I created it after a crazy night of partying went wrong."

"What's in it Sirius?" Harry was intrigued, to create a potion like this? By yourself? That takes a lot of knowledge and talent. Sirius shook his head,

"one day maybe I'll show you." He winked at Harry,

"until now, it will remain a secret."

Harry wanted to keep bugging Sirius about it but Mrs. Weasley stood up

"who's hungry?"

With a flick of her wand bowls of scrambled eggs, pancakes, potatoes, beans, and toast, floated through the air and landed on the table, with plates and silver wear following behind and landing in front of each person. Once again Harry was reminded about how much he loved magic. Everyone dug in and the table was silent for a few minutes before Remus spoke,

"So kids, how about you tell us about your first few years, we know the basic gist of it but we want to know the details."

"Ooohh that sounds fun! We only know the gist of it too, Dumbledore didn't tell us specifics." Mrs. Weasley was only excited to hear more about her kids lives when they were away from her.

Harry looked at Ron and Hermione nervously, they broke a lot of rules, and Sirius and Remus was definitely what he would classify as "over protective". Before Harry could speak the fire in the kitchen roared to life, and out stepped Dumbledore and Kingsley.

"Kingsley, Professor. What are you guys doing here?"

Sirius had an inkling they wanted him to go to the ministry to get everything cleared up.

"Well Sirius there are a few things. First we need to go to the ministry, get paperwork filled out-" Sirius interrupted Dumbledore, "including the paperwork for custody of Harry?" Sirius was very firm on this, Harry would be removed from the Dursleys, "Now Sirius we talked-."

"No."

The ferocity that came from that one word was incredible, this was one of those rare times where you could almost see the wolf coming out of Remus.

"Harry will be removed from the Dursleys, Dumbledore, with or without your permission."

The kids looked between Dumbledore and, Remus and Sirius, the three adults were staring each other down until Dumbledore gave a resigned sigh,

"I do not see this as being the best course of action for the boy, but I can see I will not win here."

He looked between his two former students,

"We will get the paperwork to transfer custody of Harry to you-"

"Both of us" Sirius interrupted again. Remus looked at him in shock,

"Its what they would want Moony, and fuck what everyone else will say. Both of us Dumbledore."

Dumbledore nodded his head,

"of course, get custody for both of you, then we need to go to Gringotts to get your vaults situated and your property taken care of. We should go now if you're ready."

Harry did an internal happy dance, thank Merlin, saved by Dumbledore.

"Lets bring the kids, they can be in diagon alley while I finish up, I know its to early for school shopping-." Sirius was in planning mode.

"Actually I have everyone's school lists with me."

Dumbledore fished envelopes out of his robes and handed one to Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Fred, and George. Everyone opened their letters, Harry was reading when a sharp squeal sounded from his left. He looked and Hermione was holding a pin with the letter 'P' on it, as in 'P' for Prefect.

"I can't believe I'm Prefect!"

She turned to Dumbledore, "Thank you Professor, I'll do the best I can, who is the other prefect for Gryffindor?"

"Me." Everyone turned to see a gob smacked Ron holding the same badge as Hermione, even Harry was a little confused.

"You?"

Hermione was the most shocked of all, Ron's face reddened in embarrassment at her comment,

"Sorry I didn't mean that the way it sounded. I just didn't expect you to be Prefect, you never wanted it." Hermione corrected quickly, she didn't want to damage what they had barely started. Her and Rond didn't talk about it but there was something there, they were always holding hands, or he had his arm around her back holding her waist.

"I didn't think I did either. Thank you Professor."

Dumbledore nodded his head and Mrs. Weasley's silence had ended.

"Oh Ronnie! I can't believe it! That's everyone in the family!" Fred and George looked affronted,

"What are we-"

"-chopped liver?"

Mrs. Weasley looked at the two,

"Oh you know what I mean. This calls for celebration! I say roast chicken, potatoes, and veggies for dinner, and for dessert Ron's favorite, Treacle Tart."
Harry didn't think it was possible but Ron's face got even redder,

"thanks mom you don't have-"

"Nonsense, you deserve it! When we go to Diagon Alley we will get you new robes and possibly an owl!"

"Speaking of Diagon Alley, we should leave so we get there today so I can finish all the paperwork." Mrs. Weasley brightened, "Yes right, kids go upstairs and get ready, be back down here in 30 minutes."

All the kids ran upstairs to get ready, Ginny stopped Harry on the landing before their rooms.

"Doing alright Harry?" Harry shouldn't have been shocked, Ginny seemed to realize any time he wasn't doing well, even if she noticed he didn't want to talk about it.

"I'm fine."

Ginny glared,

"Alright, alright, I don't know, I feel…jealous I guess. And I shouldn't and it's not their fault but-"

"-You feel left out." Ginny finished.

Harry blushed, "I know its stupid-"

"No not really, I mean you guys have been doing almost EVERYTHING together since you were 11."

"Yeah, I'm glad they could do it together though."

Ginny leaned in and gave him a hug, and he squeezed back, he could stay her forever, Ginny turned and kissed his cheek next to the corner of his lips.

"Better go get ready."

Ginny smiled at him and turned to her room, Harry felt frozen to the spot,

"Mate you coming? Lets go we gotta get ready!" Harry was jolted out of his day dream.

"What? Yeah I'm coming." Harry got ready, then he and Ron went downstairs to meet everyone.
Everyone but Fred and George were waiting by the fire. They all stood around and talked a minute while waiting for the twins, a few minutes later they came down.

"All right everyone, we are fluing into the Leaky Cauldron, and that's all you have to say, got it."

Mrs. Weasley looked at Harry specifically which made the kids laugh.

"Is there a story to this look?" Sirius laughed.

"Yeah, I'll tell you later." Harry mumbled,

"I'll go first." Harry volunteered, he stepped into the fire and took a handful of flue powder. He took a deep breath, and calmly and clearly…hopefully…he said

"Leaky Cauldron." He felt a warming sensation and his vision went black.
