The days passed in silence, without any news. But this only made me more suspicious of my sister and her plan for revenge. The truth is that I was afraid of what might happen now that she was investigating on her own and without telling anyone about her plan. Yes, the days in Slytherin passed in silence that became more and more scary every day.

Isobel was always in a kind of trance, indifferent to any living being and I could hardly see her eat. She had horrible blue dark circles, for a few days that gave her face a cadaverous look and with her eyes rolled, she truly looked like a zombie.

The days passed too quiet, too quiet among the harpies ... They did not speak to each other, everything remained in a tense atmosphere. Even some of the boys in my house had been noticing it. My sister didn't trust anyone anymore, not even Susan. She was getting unhinged by plotting something, and that something was also unhinging me.

Days after

Sunday, breakfast time

Slytherin table

I have arrived early for breakfast, but not because I did not sleep well, on the contrary, I slept great today. Not even my uneasiness about Izzie has been able to fight my accumulated fatigue.

I calmly looked at my golden toast spread with strawberry jam, about to be swallowed and digested. I had woken up in a good mood this morning, I went to bed very early last night. I no longer wanted to watch my sister destroy herself. My pumpkin juice was still waiting for the first sip, it looked especially orange this morning.

The dining room was almost silent, there were very few students awake, of course who would get up on a Sunday at eight in the morning? Well, among other students was me, who had slept too much tonight and had been tossing and turning for a long time. In the dining room there were some Hufflepuff boys having a leisurely breakfast, a Gryffindor boy and a group of girls from my house sitting near me. They planned how to spend their day off and invite some guys to go with them. I don't even remember their names well, for me they were normal and ordinary girls and I didn't need to know their names, but I recognized one who shared a room with me, the girl's name was Sarah. My juice was still waiting on the table. I was sad to drink it because it had a beautiful color today.

But then a thud broke the silence, the dining room doors slid open. We all instinctively look in the same direction. A tall girl with black hair entered the doors and she was from my house because she was coming to the table where I was. She passed quickly behind me, she walked around the table until she was with the other girls but something was wrong, her face was decomposed and her shaking hands could barely explain what she was trying to say. But the other fools hadn't even noticed, they kept talking without paying attention to her.

—Listen... Listen to me! —she said, beside herself.

Even the boy at the Gryffindor table looked up, alarmed by the scream. The fools of my companions were stunned after that demanding claim. Their backward minds did not even harbor the thousand possibilities that mine already conjectured, among them was the main one, Isobel.

—What's wrong with you, Alice? —said the one who according to my memory was Sarah.

This Alice was not my companion in the bedroom but she had seen her in Sarah's group of friends. I think Alice shared a room with my sister Isobel, Susan and Darla but they hadn't become "friends." Her face remained pale, she sat up slowly, not calm, because she looked like an articulated doll, her movements were sharp and dry, she was really shocked but, of what? At this point the other students were no longer paying attention to us, and I was more and more anxious to know what had happened.

—Something serious has happened ... something horrible. —Alice said, who was looking at Sarah but she seemed to be staring into infinity of how scared she was.

The girls looked at each other with many questions. They would think Alice had gotten up too early this morning. Suddenly one of them saw me listening to the conversation.

—Rosenberg, don't you know it's rude to listen to other people's conversations? —everyone looked at me.

I didn't know exactly who she was, but I think she was from a lower grade, and she still knew my name. The Rosenbergs were known in school for our routine fights and other displays of "affection."

—No ... Let her listen, she also deserves to know what happened and be warned. —'' Bless you Alice! '' I thought at the time.

—Advice from what Alice? You're scaring me ... —said Sarah lower.

—And you must be, you and all of us, because they have ... have… —her voice broke, she was very scared.

—What?! Say it at once! —Sarah said, losing her temper.

—Brenda Gordon was raped last night in the Forbidden Forest. They almost killed her.

All of us were shocked with wide eyes at the news from Alice. None of us knew what to say or how to start asking. My calculations had failed, it had not been Isobel, on the one hand it had been a relief but ... I was not happy at all that in exchange a girl had been raped in our school.

—Brenda? My roommate, Alice ?! I thought she was with her boyfriend last night. She told me herself! —she exclaimed in horror.

Sarah was right, I now remembered who Brenda was, she was always with Sarah and they were very good friends. Therefore she was also my roommate.

—Yes, the same. —Alice said, head down and tearful.

—Why? Who? Where is she?! —Sarah's eyes nearly popped out of her head.

—You should reassure yourself, she is ... '' fine ''. She is resting in the infirmary, Madame Pomfrey is taking care of her right now.

Sarah calmed down as best she could, but she still remained affected by the news. The two girls from lower grades were keeping quiet, the news had also affected them without knowing Brenda.

—You have to tell us everything you know Alice, now.

—That's what I've come to here Sarah. Professor Snape didn't want me to say anything but I thought that we all have the right to know what happened and to keep our backs.

—What does Snape have to do with this? —asked another girl from the group with the golden eyes.

—Shut up Grace, don't interrupt. Keep talking, Alice, please. —Sarah wanted to get to the bottom of this, just like I did.

—Well ... I was the one who found Brenda early this morning. I couldn't sleep so I got dressed and walked out of the Slytherin common room. I decided to go outside, I like to walk near the lake because I can see the sunrise clearly. But this morning as I was walking I saw something black moving in the distance near the forbidden forest. He was crawling through the grass damp from the morning dew. I did not know what to think I was paralyzed, then I thought that it could be any dangerous being and that I should take refuge. But luckily at that moment my curiosity overcame, and the closer I got, the more shape that being took until ... until ...

Alice began to sob, covering her face with her small hands. This had affected her greatly. It is not every day that you find a dying woman and she is one of your friends. Sarah got up and went to her side to hug her.

—Come on Ali quiet, she drinks some water and sit down.

—No, I'm fine, I can go on. —she said wiping the last tears —When I realized that it was a student I ran with all my strength to the castle. Although my legs weren't running enough. The first person I met was Professor McGonagall and don't hesitate to tell her. Well, she told me to notify the principal and Madame Pomfrey while she went to help the student, I told her that it was Brenda. And what happened next were too many things at once, the transfer of the body, the horrified teachers, and me crying. After a while thanks to the potions that Madame Pomfrey gave her, Brenda woke up. And she told us what happened to her. It was horrible.

Last night on the way to the dungeons they assaulted Brenda and she says that she lost consciousness of her, when she woke up she was in the middle of the forbidden forest, around her there were three hooded boys who beat her and ... raped her. Witnessing her testimony was horrible, her face is full of purplish bruises and she is very weak. She says that they said nonsense things and that they asked her many strange things.

Alice was suddenly quiet, she didn't want to keep talking. The girls didn't know what to say either, but I had to go looking for answers. And I knew exactly where to go ...
