Edit 7/9/22: Let's hope this chapter is better!

It's been 3 weeks since I uploaded the last chapter. I got kinda busy (again) and lost my motivation a few times. I was going to wait until tomorrow to work on this chapter, but since my father asked me to print something out for him I changed my mind. I really hope this chapter will be ok.

After stopping at another Toad House, Mario and Luigi continued on their way to Ludwig's fortress. More Koopa Troopas and Goombas tried to stop them, but they were quickly defeated. Mario didn't jump out of the way in time and was hit by one of the Koopa Troopas. Luigi jumped on the Koopa's head and kicked the shell away. Mario thanked his brother and ate a Mushroom. The two continued walking through Cloud World.

"Look! We're almost there!" Luigi said as he pointed to the building away from them.

"Alright! Let's get going." Mario replied. As they got closer to the fortress, more minions ran towards them. Mario and Luigi both grabbed fire flowers and threw fire balls at them. They continued throwing fire balls and jumping on the enemies until each one was stopped. A few minutes later they made it to the fortress and went inside.

The brothers began dodging Bullet Bills and Banzai Bills. Luigi was hit by a Bullet Bill and turned small. Mario reached inside of his pocket and threw a Propeller Mushroom to Luigi. Luigi grabbed it and transformed into his propeller suit.

"Thanks Mario." Luigi said. Mario then took out another Propeller Mushroom and also wore his propeller suit. Luigi then grabbed Mario and launched them both into the air. They landed on another platform and stomped on a few Goombas and Koopa Troopas. They flew into the air onto more platforms and collected more coins and power ups.

More Banzai Bills and Bullet Bills began flying towards them. Mario and Luigi jumped on them and flew onto the other platforms. They almost got hit by one of the Banzai Bills, but quickly got out of the way. They were getting closer to the door and continued fighting the minions they ran into. They grabbed more coins as they finally made it to the top of the fortress. Mario opened the door and went inside, Luigi following close behind him.

The Bros made it into the room and were surprised to see Jasmine with Ludwig.

"Jasmine!" Luigi exclaimed.

"We thought you were with Bowser and the princesses." Mario said.

"I was but-"

"Can we get this over with already?" Ludwig said, cutting her off.

"Ugh, I guess I'll explain later." Jasmine replied as she rolled her eyes. Ludwig took out his wand and began to shoot indigo energy blasts at the brothers. Mario and Luigi did their best to dodge them as the energy blasts followed them as they moved. As they were dodging the energy blasts, Ludwig jumped into the air and began to flutter jump.

"He can flutter jump?!" The three exclaimed. Mario and Luigi watched the Koopaling as he was still in the air. When Ludwig landed on the ground, Luigi moved out of the way and Mario jumped on his head. Ludwig retreated into his shell and began to spin around the room. Mario and Luigi dodged him as he got closer to them.

Ludwig got out of his shell and shot more energy blasts with his wand. He then flutter jumped in the air again. Ludwig landed on the ground and was getting ready to shoot more energy blasts at them. Before he could, Mario and Luigi, still wearing their propeller suits, spun into the air. Luigi was hovering over Ludwig and landed on his head, making him retreat into his shell. Ludwig spun around the room again and ended up hitting Mario, making him lose his propeller suit.

Ludwig shot more energy blasts at the bros, but they dodged them. They watched as Ludwig flutter jumped into the air one more time and hovered over Mario. Mario moved out of the way and jumped on Ludwig's head, finally defeating him.

"Alright! You guys did it!" Jasmine cheered. As Jasmine stood up and began to run towards them, Ludwig shook his head, got up, and grabbed her.

"Hey! Let me go!" Jasmine screamed. Ludwig ignored her and left the fortress with Jasmine in his arms before Luigi and Mario could stop him.

"We were so close!" Luigi said.

"He must be taking her to his castle now." Mario replied. He took out two 1-UP Mushrooms and handed one to Luigi.

"Let's get going." Luigi said as he finished eating the mushroom. Mario nodded and the two left the fortress.
