Ella had watched as Thor left to speak to Nick Fury about Jane Foster. He had asked her if she would be fine and she had told him not to panic. He had left her in the room, still perched on the bench as she waited to go and speak to Loki once more. Her mind went back to her brother, seeing him in that cage as she wondered how she could save him. Could he be saved? Would it be possible? Biting down on her lip, Ella moved to her feet and began to wander down the corridors.

However, she didn't get far. She came past the lab where Tony and Bruce had been working and heard voices yelling at each other. Rolling her eyes, she looked into the room and saw her brother part of the argument. She considered going in and asking what was going on, but decided against it. Whatever they were arguing about was not her issue. She moved towards the prison, the guards letting her in after seeing her approaching.

"You are back."

Loki's voice was cold and harsh as he stood in the middle of the cage. Ella moved closer to him, hands behind her back as she shrugged.

"I guess so," she said. "I hear you had another visitor."

"I did," Loki said, beginning to walk around on the spot. "She tried to appeal to my better nature. It was rather hypocritical of her considering I know the amount of spilled blood on her hands."

"I do not care about her," Ella said with a firm shake of her head. "What I want to know is where you think this will end?"

Loki chuckled and stood still, looking to her as he arched his brow. "With me ruling."

Ella rolled her eyes. "I may not be like you, Loki, but I learned a few things when I was studying on Asgard. The people of Earth have suffered under tyrants in the past…some of them still do. If you think that they will willingly roll over and let you rule then you are even more foolish than I had initially thought."

It took a moment before Loki arched his brow, stepping closer to the glass of the cage. "They bend the knee or they die."

"Then a lot of them will choose death," Ella responded. "And who will you rule over then?"

Loki stood in front of his sister. He looked her in the eye, wondering what he should say to her, but instead he chose to remain mute. He kept his gaze fixed on her as she let hers remain on him. She cocked her head to the side before she noticed Loki's smile grow wide. He nodded once and then Ella was violently pushed from her feet. Moving towards the glass, she remained upright with her hands pressed against the glass.

Looking over her shoulder, Ella saw three men in dark suits rush into the room. She began to move towards them as they hit buttons on the control panel, but before she could move any further, a hand wrapped around her upper arm, stopping her from going any further. Peering over her shoulder, Ella saw that Loki had been freed from the cage by the men.

"No!"

Ella heard Thor's voice roar and he rushed towards Loki. Ella watched on as Loki was tackled by Thor, but instead of knocking him over, Thor ran through Loki as if he were not there. He had used his magic to shift into a hologram and Thor had fallen for it. He was now locked in the cage in Loki's place.

"Will you ever not fall for that?"

Ella tried to move off to the control panel to free Thor, but Loki had grabbed her by the arm, hauling her back to him as she tried to push him from her. Ella tried to remember seeing her brother's fight as she moved a foot towards Loki's knee, kicking at him. He seemed to wince, his grip loosening on her as she took advantage of it and pushed at his chest.

Rushing towards the control panel, Ella moved with haste, looking for the right button, but Loki was just as quick. In an instant he had both of her wrists in his grip and was tugging them behind her back, hauling her upright until her back was flush with his chest.

"You are becoming quite the pain, Ella," Loki snarled into her ear.

"So what now?" Thor's voice boomed from the cage as he shrugged. "You cannot escape this, Loki."

"Perhaps not," Loki said. "However, you also cannot escape this, oh, Odinson."

"What is that supposed to mean?" Ella demanded from her brother as Loki looked to the control panel and Thor moved with haste, slamming his hammer against the glass.

It did nothing to break the glass, instead the cage rattled and everyone looked at it cautiously. Stepping away from the glass, Thor kept his gaze on Loki as Ella tried to worm herself free from his grip, failing miserably.

"The humans think that we are immortal as Gods," Loki spoke. "I believe it would be good for us to test that theory."

As soon as he had spoken those words, the floor beneath the cage opened up and a gust of wind swept into the room. Ella suddenly understood what it was Loki intended to do and she moved even more violently then, pushing herself backwards but failing to move Loki. Lifting her leg up, she moved with haste, kicking behind her, aiming for any contact she could get. Her foot made contact with his shin and she kicked again, repeatedly using as much strength as she could muster. Loki grunted out in pain as Ella wormed her way free and turned to face him, her hand making contact with his cheek as she slapped him, hot tears falling down her face as she looked at him.

She slapped him again, struggling to care whether she hurt him. His face turned to the side and Ella looked to the control panels and went to press a button, but she was too late. Loki had already hit the necessary control and Ella heard Thor roar in fear and anger. Ella moved around, looking behind to see the cage falling from the ship.

"No!" Ella roared, moving to the edge of the walkway where the cage should have been. Peering down, she saw it hurtling towards the ground, her eyes closed as she held onto the railing, her body slipping towards the floor as her knees caved in on her.

"You mourn for him."

Ella said nothing as she heard Loki speak to her. But Ella had nothing to say to him. She couldn't say anything. She couldn't even look at him. There would be no way that she was going to stop him from leaving the prison. He had men there and he had all that he needed. Well, perhaps not all that he needed. Thinking to the tesseract, Ella knew that Loki could not get his sceptre back. She couldn't sit there and sob for Thor. He would want her to stop Loki. He would want her to help.

Moving to her feet and wiping her eyes with the back of her hands, she stormed towards the door, not looking at Loki. He grabbed hold of her wrist as she passed him by, stopping her from moving.

"You mourn him," he repeated to her.

Ella finally looked to him, glowering. "Just as I mourned you," she said. "Just as I still do."

"Ella-"

"-Get away from me," Ella interrupted him. "Just get away from me."

Loki didn't know what possessed him, but for the first time in a while he did as she had asked. He dropped her wrist from his grip and watched her walk away, storming from the prison. His eyes remained settled on her as she left, his mind still wondering what he had done to his little sister.

Ella was focused on rushing back towards the lab, hoping that she would be able to find the sceptre. Pushing her way down the corridors, she noticed the sight of Steve at the end of one of the corridors. He was locked in battle with one of, she presumed, Loki's minions. Ella saw Steve knock him to the ground, but he hadn't noticed the other man behind him. Ella moved with haste, knowing that she could sneak up on him. She did so slowly, moving until she was right behind his shoulder. Tapping him on the shoulder, she saw him startle as he turned to look at her and she moved quickly, her fingers clenching into a fist as she punched him on the jaw, hearing the snap of bone as he clung to his jaw and shrieked. She moved quickly then, kicking him between the legs before she noted Steve grab him by the neck and slam him against the wall, rendering him unconscious.

"Nice punch."

Ella nodded, holding onto her fist as it stung slightly. "First time I've done that."

"Well you made pretty easy work of him."

"Humans are pretty weak compared to us," she shrugged at him. "Anyway, we need to get the sceptre."

"Why?"

"Loki needs it for the tesseract…I think," Ella said. "And he's escaped."

"How?" Steve asked as he ran with her down the corridor and towards the lab.

"He has people under his mind control who helped him," Ella said. "I…I tried to stop him, but Thor…"

Ella gulped and Steve wondered what she was trying to say. She said nothing more and he wondered if she was alright. He could clearly see that something was wrong and he suspected it had something to do with Thor. Had Loki harmed him? Could he hurt his own brother?

"It's gone."

Steve spoke those words as soon as they came to the lab. Ella shook her head.

"How?" she demanded. "Who…Loki didn't have it…"

"But he might do now."

Ella nodded her head and moved with haste, spinning on her heel and heading back in the direction of the prison. She moved quicker than she ever had done before, her feet hitting the floor at speed. She didn't even make it to the prison, instead she found Loki wandering down the corridors, flanked with his posse and the sceptre in his hands.

Ella slowed her movements as he finally noticed her stood in front of him. He held his hand up and the men following him also stood still as his sister remained a distance from him.

"Give me the sceptre," Ella demanded from him.

"Do you think that will happen?" Loki wondered back from her.

"I never thought you would let Thor fall to his death, but you have done," Ella said and Loki almost felt a pang in his chest at the sight of Ella. She was halfway between anger and sorrow and Loki was the cause of it. He was the cause of her suffering after promising that he would always protect her.

"Do you think the fall will have killed him?" Loki enquired of her.

"I do not know!" Ella roared. "All I know is that you did that to him. What did we do to you, Loki? What did we ever do that was so horrible?"

"Ella-"

"-Do not," she held her hand up to silence him. "Do not even think to make excuses up for your behaviour. Just give me the sceptre and stop this."

"No can do, sweet sister."

"Oh, I am your sister again now?"

"You know how I feel, Ella," Loki whispered, daring to step closer towards her and she looked away from him, closing her eyes for a brief moment before looking to the floor. Loki took hold of her chin softly, forcing her to look him in the eye. "Just come with me."

"Where to?" Ella enquired of him.

"To rule."

Ella let her lips quirk for a second in disbelief, but she shook her head and pushed him from her. But Loki was quick. He grabbed hold of her by the arm tightly and began walking forwards. Ella looked up to him, wriggling around in his fingers.

"What are you doing?" she demanded of him.

"This carrier is going down," Loki spoke. "I do not think you want to be on it when it crashes, do you?"

Ella huffed loudly, but eventually stopped fighting. She knew that she was better staying by Loki's side where she could keep an eye on him. At least then she could try to stop him when she found out what his final plan truly was.
