Janette, the Outcast
By Breanna Bridgette
(Bree Bri)
There once was a child named Janette. She was an outcast among the other children. They would make fun of her and call her names. But, one day Janette got so angry at the other kids, she just started yelling at them in another language never spoken before. And all the children that had made fun of her, turned into stone statues. Janette was so frightened, and afraid of what she had done, so she left Gondor and went to live in a cave close to the Shire. Janette grew up in the cave, eating wild animals and plants. Anyone and everything (Ents and other creatures) who crossed her path turned into statues. She hated everything, and everyone she didn't care if you were the nicest person in the world, if you crossed her path she would turn you into a statue. Over the years there had been well over 200 statues acquired next to the cave, most of them hobbits, from Hobbiton. Janette was becoming meaner and older by the day, she didn't trust anybody. Janet did become happy once in a while when a young hobbit named Frodo was around. He appreciated nature, and he loved the serene feeling he got when he was in the forest around all those statues. But, Janette did not like when Frodo's friends, Sam, Merry, and Pippin would come with him. They were always to far away for her to turn them into stone, so she had to live with it. But, one day, Merry and Pippin came into the woods alone, and got close enough to Janet for her to turn them into stone. She never had a chance. "Hey, Pip?" Merry said "Yeah Merry?" Pippin answered "Did you ever heard that myth about that girl that came to live in this cave?" Merry asked "Yeah, it would be very interesting to meet her, if she was real." Pippin answered "Yeah, I wish she was real." Merry said "Me too." Pippin said "I AM REAL, WHAT OF IT?" Janette yelled through the bushes. "Oh My God, she is real." Pippin yelled while running to hide behing Merry. "Can we see your face?" Merry asked "Yes, I guess you may." Janette answered as she came out from inside the cave. As she came out Merry and Pippin got ready to aim their rocks. "Ready, Aim." Merry said as Janette fully came out of the cave. "FIRE!!" Merry yelled as he and Pippin pelted rocks at Janette killing her. "FINALLY!" Pippin said "Yeah, now no more of our friends will be turned into stones by that horrid thing." Merry said "Hey, wanna go get something to eat?" Pippin asked "Sure! Pip?" Merry said "Yeah Merry?" Pippin said "Wanna keep 1 or 2 of these statues to put in the front of our houses, maybe we can give Frodo 1?" Merry asked "Sure, but you have to help me carry them back to the shire." Pippin said "Alright!" Merry answered
