She nearly fell to the floor but was prevented by Jane putting his arms around her waist in alarm. He'd asked her twice to go home but damn the stubbornness in this woman. She just wouldn't admit that she was unwell. Even to him, even while they were in a relationship.

Jane waits a full twenty-five minutes, by the count of his car dashboard clock, before he hits dial. It goes unanswered the first time, the second. "May I come in?" he says the moment Lisbon picks up on the third try. [Or: a series of CBI-era oneshots.]
