Shortly after Patrick Jane's family is murdered by the infamous Red John, he spirals into a mental breakdown that almost costs him his life. He is retrieved and taken to the Heritage Oaks Hospital and admitted into their mental health wing where he's caged within white walls and seemingly stuck in his insanity. Will he endure the journey to recovery or wallow within white walls?

Jane and Lisbon live happily married, along with their beautiful daughter, Destiny. Every part of their life seems perfect but the spark between them seems to have faded. Can Lisbon's new idea fix that?

What if The Mentalist was granted a short Season 8? Here's my take on the list of S8 episodes, with sneak peeks for the eps added in subsequent chapters. (This was great fun to write) 8.13, the Season 8 Finale is now up - White Knuckles. We all loved the season four finale... but it left out SIX adorable months of Lisbon missing Jane! I'm not making it up - you all saw! Lisbon admitted she had a rough time coping with Jane's absence! "When this is over, do you want to fall in love again?" she asks. He looks at her strangely. "Your question is flawed," he says, and doesn't expand further. Only later does it occur to her that maybe he is already in love.

Future fic. Like, way in the future.

"Hey! None of that!" he told her between kisses. "You are a gorgeous creature. Just as you always have been. You won't be this way always, love." Lisbon isn't feeling too confident being so pregnant. Jane, however, reassures her she is and always will be the most beautiful girl in the world.

"Damaged goods? Sure, you are dinged up and a dented, Jane, but you out of anyone has every right to be that way. Damaged goods is a little much. And moving on doesn't mean leaving everything in your past in a dusty corner somewhere, Jane." Her voice was as soft as cotton. "And someone would be willing to wait for you..." Based on season 3, if Grace had married Craig.

This is after Jane came back but before Marcus Pike... what happens when Jane and Lisbon are stuck in a cabin during a snow storm with no way out and no way to communicate with anyone... with hidden feelings and emotions find their way out or will they stay completely platonic as they must cuddle together to preserve body heat. Definitely AU... the cover was made by melovecastle...

This is my imagining of the final conversation between Angela and Patrick on the night of the Red John attack. And my reason for what keeps Patrick awake at night.

Jane feels more and more attracted to Lisbon so that he can t help but being jealous when a secret admirer seems to enter Lisbon s life. He decides to compete against this admirer and things get really flirtatious when from time to time he joins Teresa while she is doing her fitness workout... (JISBON fluff!/OOC at times 3)

He felt her hand gently skim over his hair and sighed, wondering if she would hold his hand if he asked. He tended to avoid touching people because it brought back to him how much he missed human connection – but in Teresa's case he would make an exception. Jane whump

"I've never seen Casablanca," she says. It is a lie. It's easier that way. Lisbon faces some truths she'd rather not, regarding Jane and Pike and all that goes along with that.

Based after S7 finale White orchids. Patrick Jane suffers severe memory loss causing him to revert to his old ways, as well as not remembering Teresa Lisbon, his current life or tragic past. Can Lisbon help him get back to himself & will he fall in love with her all over again? Or will she fall him despite his fugue state. It's an AU story. (Inspired by episode 4:10)
