Ginny's POV
I jumped up right after I read the letter, then panicked. James put a hand on my shoulder, guiding me back to a sitting position, "Ginny, calm down,"
"My kids are in danger!"
"Go be with your kids. We can continue this later," Hermione, Harry and I Apparated to the Burrow, where I found Bill with my kids in the living room.
"What happened, Bill?"
"I hate to say this, but there are two problems. I found out the second one right after I sent the owl,"
"Tell me now, William!"
"Sit down first,"
"Ok, I'm sitting. What happened,"
"Firstly, Lily and Albus are complaining that they feel sick, and I've checked their temperatures, but they don't appear to be sick. Any idea of what it is?"
"I'll watch them for a bit and see what happens. What was the other problem?"
"James is missing. He said he was tired, so he went to my room and fell asleep. After a while, I noticed that he was asleep a long time. He normally went to bed around 10 o'clock, so I knew that this would be a nap. I went to check on him, but he wasn't there,"
"Was there are note? Anything?"
"Sorry, Ginny," I faced Lily and Albus, "Kids? What hurts?"
"Tummy,"
"Go have some sleep. See if that helps," They left the room, and I faced Bill again, "What time did James head to your room?"
" 'Bout 8:30,"
"I have to go. I think I may know where he is. Harry, I need you as well,"
"Will you at least tell me-"
"Harry, just shut up for a moment, will you?"
"Ok, ok, geez," We headed to Hogsmeade, where I hoped to see him there. It was still open, so I stopped everyone and asked them, "Have you seen my child? He's 11 years old, and looks like my husband, Harry?" I got the same response every time, "No, sorry. Hope you find him," I started to think that I would never find him, "Harry?"
"What's wrong, honey?"
"What if we never find him?"
"We will. He's in the Hogsmeade somewhere, we just have to figure out that somewhere. I promise that we'll find him,"
"But what if we don't?"
"If think we're not going to find him, then we won't. If you think we'll find him, we will. It's all about positivity,"
"You're right, Harry. Let's check Hogshead," I went inside of it, where I saw a dark haired kid. I couldn't see any other details, as it was dark, but whispered, "James? Is that you?" The little boy turned around, saw us, and ran over to me, "Mom!"
"Oh my God, James! Harry, we found him!"
"I'm so happy to see you, Mum!"
"So am I, but I have one question, and I want you to answer truthfully,"
"Alright,"
"Why did you leave when Uncle Bill was in charge and I left?"
"I'd never been in Hogsmeade, and I wanted to see it. I don't want to come back, though,"
"How come?"
"There were these two black figures, and I got scared,"
"It's OK, James. I think I know what it was, but I need to talk with Dad first, Ok?" He nodded. We went back home, where I told him to read a book in his room. I went over to Harry and said, "Harry? Do you think that they were Dementors?"
"I think that they were. The thing is, why would they be at Hogsmeade?"
"I don't know. I'm going to confirm with James. Are the other kids in bed?"
"Yeah, but their stomachs still hurt. Bill put them to bed here, and went back to his house,"
"OK. I will check on them in the morning," I left, and went up to James's room, "James?" He put down his book, and I sat on his bed with him "I know you probably don't want to talk about this, but I need to know. What did the black figures look like?"
"I-I don't exactly know. They wore black cloaks, and one of them got really close to me,"
"What then happened?"
"I started to hear screaming of a woman, about your age, Mum. It didn't sound like you, though. It felt like I'd never have a happy moment in my life,"
"Anything else?"
"The thing got super close to me, and it put its jaw around me. I felt myself being sucked out, but then someone saved me,"
"Who?"
"I don't know. They said something, and a big silver thing can from their wand. The thing was scared of it, I think, because it went away,"
"Do you know what the thing was?"
"No,"
"It's called a Dementor. They live on emotion, and they can suck a soul out of a person. It's called a Dementor's Kiss. You were very lucky. You were about to get the Kiss, but that someone had produced a Patronus,"
"A what?"
"A Patronus. It is like a big animal or shield that will protect you from the Dementor's. The person would have to think of the happiest thing they can remember, and say 'Expecto Patronum' for it to work,"
"Can you do it?"
"Yes. It was first a horse, but after I married Dad, it turned into a doe. His Patronus is a stag,"
"When did you learn?"
"I was fourteen when I learned, and Dad was thirteen. Dad actually taught me how to do it,"
"Can he teach me?"
"One day,"
"I just want to be able to protect myself if the Dementor ever comes again,"
"I know. If you stay in the house, and don't run off, then you won't have to deal with them,"
"Thanks Mum,"
"For what?"
"For making me feel safe,"
"I always try to make you feel safe, and physically safe,"
