Ginny's POV
Uh, Harry hadn't sent a letter for my response yet, and I thought he'd have something by now. I'll have to do it myself. I knew that the Wizard doctor would be in surgery for a few hours, and that the nurses thought I was asleep. I created a replica of me, conjured up a temporary prosthetic, and got out of bed. I placed the replica so it looked like I was in a deep sleep. I put on the prosthetic and tried to take a few steps.
The pain was excruciating, but I couldn't let Malfoy hurt anymore of my family. I slowly walked out of the room, limping a lot. I made sure nobody was looking, closed my door, and Apparated to Malfoy's house. I found him talking with his wife and son.
"Petrificus Totalus," I whispered and aimed my wand at his wife and Scorpius. He turned around, and jumped off of his seat.
"Weasley! What's you doing here?! And how do you know where my house is?"
"Perks of having an Auror husband, and just so you know, it's Potter, not Weasley,"
"You think I give a damn what I call you? No, I don't! Tell me, what're you doing here!"
"What did you do to my son?"
"What do you mean?"
"Don't act all innocent! I know you gave him something that caused the doctors to think he has epilepsy when he doesn't!"
"Potter, or Weasley, I really don't care what I call you anyway. I didn't do anything! All I did was give him some food!"
"Liar! Stupefy!" I casted the Knock-back jinx at him, and he was forced back, like a giant hand was pushing him back.
"Sectusempra!" The last thing I saw was a jet of purple light and a pool of scarlet liquid, before a wave of pain came over me and I fell unconscious.
Draco's POV
Ginny then fell on the floor, her wand getting thrown and I heard a snap. It took me a moment before I realized what I did. Shaking with fear, I knelt down beside her, "Oh no, what've I done!? I can't let her die!" There were large pools of blood forming around her, staining her clothes with scarlet liquid.
I then remembered when Harry had cast that on me. I remember Snape had said some sort of spell, but I couldn't remember it! I racked my brain for a few minutes, and then remembered it.
"Vulnera Sanentur," Some of the wounds looked like they were clearing up, but it not by much, "Vulnera Sanentur, Vulnera Sanentur," More of the blood cleared up. There were still large wounds on her face, so I said it again, "Vulnera Sanentur!" Most of the cuts on her face cleared up, and the bleeding stopped. I noticed that there was still a lot of blood flowing, so I examined her legs. There were tiny cuts, but they weren't causing any blood. I ran my hands through my now sweaty and messy blond hair, then knowing where the blood was coming from.
"Her chest and stomach," I whispered. I really didn't want to have to do this, but it was either this, or she dies, and Harry kills me. Tears forming in my eyes from immense fear, I lifted her onto my lap, and slowly removed her shirt. There were the biggest wounds. The largest one I knew would scar, but was in a curious shape.
"A lightning bolt. She and Harry are meant for each other," Even though fear started to overtake me, I kept my focus on my goal, "Vulnera Sanentur," It cleared up a bit.
I then heard a moan, and looked over at Ginny's face. She was starting to gain re-consciousness, but I couldn't risk having her awake. I slowly put her back on the floor, and ran to the kitchen, where we kept our potions. I jumbled through, looking for a Sleeping Draught.
"Astoria, why did you re-arrange the cabinet?! Terrible timing!" Astoria normally re-arranged the cabinet a few times a month, but this was not the best time to have done so. After a few minutes, I finally found the Potion, tossed it up in the air, and caught it with a swipe.
"Wait, Draco, why are you trying to act cool right now? There is a life on the line for Merlin's sake!" I shook my head at foolishness. I rushed back to the room, where Ginny was and forced the Potion down her throat. She coughed, but at once went back to sleep. She was losing a lot of blood, so I act to act fast.
"Vulnera Sanentur. Come'on Ginny, please hang on! Vulnera Sanentur! Vulnera Sanentur!" The blood cleared up, but her face was ghost-white. She needed blood, to she'd die of loss of blood. I ran back to the kitchen to find a Blood-Replenishing Potion. I ignored my urge for coolness this time, grabbed the Potion, and forced most of it through her throat. Her face slowly turned back to its original colour, and I cleared up the rest of the blood.
Knowing there was nothing else I could do, using my strength to my advantage, I lifted her onto our couch. I put her shirt back on her, and covered her with a blanket, to keep her warm. Not knowing how much Sleeping Draught I gave her, I figured she could be out for a full 24 hours or more. The minimum time she would be asleep was about 5 hours. I looked down at my hands, and they were cold, and visibly shaking. I looked around, and saw her wand.
"No, no, this can't be!" I rushed over to where her wand was and picked it up.
"No, please don't be like this!" I examined the wand, and it was nearly snapped in half. If only Harry hadn't gotten rid of the Elder Wand, we could've fixed it!
"Damn it Harry, your modesty got in the way!"
I got a box and put the severed wand in it. I got the Floo powder from the mantel, but it was empty.
"Damn it, Astoria, you forgot to get more!" Sighing, I rushed to my room, and got my emergency Floo powder from my dresser. I went to the fireplace, and then doubled back to the living room. There, my wife and son were still immobilized, so I said the counter-incantation, and they were able to move.
"Draco! What happened!?"
"Dad? What's going on?"
"Sorry, Scorp, Tori, long story! The wife of Potter, Ginny, is on the couch. She's knocked out right now, and I'm going to get Potter, make sure she's OK, please!"
"But, Draco, what-"
"Please, Tori, I don't have time, I'm already having to explain to her husband, I'll tell you later!"
I threw a handful of powder into the fireplace and yelled, "Godric's Hollow!" I arrived in Harry's house and fell out of the fire. Harry then came running in, grabbed me by under the arms, and easily lifted me up onto my feet.
"Malfoy! What's wrong!?"
"Ginny-hurt—healed-now—sleeping,"
"Whoa, Mate, slow down!"
"Ginny, I-I-"
"Malfoy, what'd you do? What happened?"
"I, you're going to be mad at me,"
"Malfoy, it's alright. Did you accidentally curse her?"
"Sorta. She came to my house-"
"Wait, what!? Was she allowed?"
"I don't think so, now, don't interrupt, Potter. She was accusing me of giving Albus something to cause him to have a seizure, so she cast Stupefy on me. Well, you remember how I changed after my failed Auror test? My reflexes?"
"Yeah,"
"Well, with my reflexes, I got my wand, and accidentally cursed her. I-I, Harry, I used Snape's spell! I'm so sorry!" I fell to my knees.
"Wait, Sectusempra?"
"Yes, I'm so sorry! It'll never happen again!"
"It's OK! It was an accident!"
"But, but-"
"Malfoy, stop. Now, where is she?" I looked up, and he had a serious look on his face that told me he wasn't mad.
"S-she's in my house. I had to give her a Sleeping Draught, but I don't know how long she'll be out for. At least a few hours, but it could be more than 24 hours!"
"Draco, it's alright. I'll bring her back to the hospital, explain to the doctor, and you explain you Astoria and Scorpius, deal?" I nodded. Harry got the Floo powder, and he threw it into the flames.
"After you," He smiled. I walked in and yelled, "Malfoy Manor!" I fell, again, out of my fireplace, and Astoria helped me to the second couch we had.
"Draco, will you explain now?" Scorp's in his room I nodded just as Harry arrived and sat down beside me.
"Well, you remember Professor Snape?"
"Yes,"
"Well, when he was a student in his sixth year, he wrote in a book, Advanced Potion Making. He not only found ways to make Potions better, but he invented spells as well. One of them was 'Sectusempra' a spell that cuts the target's face and chest with deep gashes. I remember Harry used it on me once, and to be honest, I'm kinda happy he did. You remember my failed Auror training and test?"
"Yes, your reflexes were never the same. Every little thing, and you have your wand out,"
"Yes, yes, I know. Well, Ginny accused me of something, and shot a Knock-back Jinx at me, and given my reflexes, I shot out my wand, and accidentally used Snape's spell on her! I remembered the Healing Spell to heal it when Harry used it on me, so I used it on Ginny to heal her. By the way, we'll also need more Potions,"
"That's fine. Is that why she's knocked out cold?"
"Yes, Tori, that's why. I gave her a Sleeping Draught, but I don't know how much was left in the bottle. Anyway, Harry needs to take her back to the hospital,"
Harry's POV
I threw Floo Powder into the fireplace, picked up Ginny, and yelled, "London Muggle Hospital!" I knew there was a fireplace in her room, and I stepped out of it.
"Harry?"
A man looked at me with confusion, "James?"
"I'm confused. What's going on?" I put Ginny on the bed right after I vanished the replica.
"Here's the long story short. She went to Malfoy Manor, got cursed, was healed, was given a Sleeping Draught, and now she's here,"
"How long will she be asleep?"
"Uh, we don't know. Malfoy just gave her the rest of what was in the bottle, not knowing how much was left,"
"Will she be OK?"
"Yeah, she'll be fine, hopefully,"
"What do you mean?"
"She was hit with a curse that cut open her skin. She was healed, but there could lingering damage, and, we, also need to get her a new wand, now,"
"How come?"
"Well, when she was hit with the spell, her wand was thrown back, and well, it was nearly snapped in two,"
"I'm sorry,"
"No, it's alright, really," Landon then came in, looking panicked, "Harry?"
"Landon! What's wrong?"
"It's Ginny, she's gone,"
"No, she's not. Sit, I have something to explain to you,"
"Ok? What?"
"Ginny left, and went to confront Draco Lucius Malfoy about a false accusation, and she knocked him back with the Knock-Back Jinx. Draco had failed his Auror training and test, but gained excellent reflexes. So, as his brain told him to do, he cursed her with Professor Snape's invented spell, Sectusempra. That curse cuts open the face and chest with deeps wounds. There was a spell that could heal the wounds, but Ginny then started to gain consciousness, so Draco gave her a Sleeping Draught. We don't know how much was left in there. I brought here back here. Oh yeah, um, do you know anyone who can fix broken wands? Like, really broken wands?"
"As a matter of fact, I do, why?"
"Her wand, it's nearly snapped in half,"
"Here, give it to me. I'll have the wand fixer fix it and have an owl deliver it to your house. Godric's Hollow, right?"
"Yeah, how long will it take?"
"About a few days. Two weeks max, maybe?"
"Alright,"
"Now, I've got other things to do, I'll be back in a few hours, thank you," He got up, and started to walk out of the door. I remembered the prosthetic that Ginny was wearing and went to remove it. When I took it off, I saw a white cast covering her stump.
"Harry, I'm—I'm really sorry, mate,"
"She's been through so much already, she doesn't deserve to be treated like shit," My knuckles were white enough to be able to see the scars from the Blood Quill from so long ago. James must have not known this and saw it because then he said, "Harry? What's that scar from?"
"You know, Voldemort, when he killed Mum and Dad," I said without looking at him.
"I know, but I mean the one on your hand, it says something, what?"
"Dolores Umbridge. She gave me detention, and made me use a Blood Quill and write, 'I Must Not Tell Lies' it's healed over by now, it's fine,"
"So, she hurt you? Oh, I'm going to hunt her down and-"
"James, it's fine I'm OK,"
"You think I'm going to let her get away with hurting my only family!?"
"James. Let it go. Plus, what about Voldemort?"
"You killed him, didn't you?"
"Many years ago. I think there are still Death Eaters out there. I don't know, I don't go searching for them,"
"Harry-that's not what I meant-I'm sorry,"
"No, it's fine. I'm fine," The truth was, I wasn't. Why was Ginny being treated like this?
"James?"
"Harry?"
"Why did this happen to Ginny? She's saved many lives, gave three wonderful kids' lives! She's the best wife a man could ask for!" By now, I was crying.
"Harry," he took me in his arms, "I don't know, mate. I wish I knew. I really do,"
"It-it's just hard, you know?"
"I know, buddy, I know, but, look at me. She's going to be alright, so, please don't worry. Hey, I have an idea,"
"What?"
"Ginny's going to be out for a little while, right?"
"Yeah, why?"
Why don't we go into Hogsmeade?"
"But I want to be with Ginny when she wakes up!"
"Already solved that. Expecto Patronum!" A stag appeared from his wand, and it left, "There, that'll go to Landon right away. Don't worry, Muggles can't see it,"
"No, it's not that," I broke away from him, "Your Patronus is a stag?"
"Yep, same as Dad's. One of the only memories that will last forever,"
"What do you mean, one?"
"Like this," He pulled a red and yellow badge, "I'll take it you know what this is?"
"Is that-"
"Yep, Dad's Quidditch Captain badge. Here," He put the badge in my hand, and said, "And now, it's for you, as well as this letter," He thrusted a piece of parchment in my hands, and I read it out loud.
"Dear Harry James Potter,
I am writing this knowing that Voldemort will eventually come to Godric's Hollow and kill us. In case you survive, I sent a Patronus to your brother, saying to give this to you when he feels is right. I'm sure you already know that I was a Gryffindor Seeker in my time at Hogwarts. I don't know if you know this, but I was also made Quidditch Captain. I was allowed to keep the badge, for my effort as Captain, but I didn't want it. I want to believe that you will eventually become Quidditch Captain. I really hope you did, following in your father's footsteps. If not, please don't disappoint me by failing examinations for school. There are so many things I want to tell you, but for another time. Here, your mother wants to write now.
'Harry, Honey, I hope you're alright, please be! I can't stand to have my son dead! When you inherit your father's badge, please put it to good use! Don't go about, showing it all about and being reckless, like your father did! One more thing, even if we are dead by the time you read this, I want you to know that we never really have gone. We're right here, in your heart. I love you so much, Harry, thank you for the life we were able to see'
You see, Harry, we never were gone. I know it may sound ridiculous, but, please, believe you ever defeat Voldemort, I'm so proud of you! You are a hero, Hero Potter, no matter what. I only have one request that I wish for you to fulfil. Get married to a wonderful woman, and start a family. I want to be a grandpa. This is my final request for if we die. Thank you, Mr. Harry James Potter.
Love, Lily Potter and James Potter, your Mum and Dad," My voice broke at the last line.
"Harry, buddy, that was beautiful!"
"You haven't read it?"
"Nope. Private property. And an order from Dad," He laughed, "Like Dad said, I've kept that badge safe for almost forty years, put it to good use. Please," I nodded, "It's my only keepsake of Dad. Now, let me take you up on that Hogsmeade offer!"
"I swear, you are a replica of Dad. I'm gonna take you to the Three Broomsticks, and get you a Butter-beer. My treat," I gave Ginny a quick kiss on the forehead, and the James and I Apparated to the Three Broomsticks. James went right up to Rosemerta and dragged me with him.
"Rosemerta, m'dear!"
"James! I didn't think you'd come by!"
"Just had to treat my little brother to a nice bottle of Butter-Beer,"
"You've got a brother? Who?" James pointed to me, "That's him right there. No, this is not a prank,"
"Wait, now that I come to think of it, you never told me your last name,"
"Well, then, let me introduce myself properly.
"My name is James Fleamont Potter. Named after my late father, James, and late grandfather, Fleamont Potter. I have a younger brother named Harry James Potter, also named after Fleamont and Dad,"
"Wow, I never would have guessed that Harry Potter had a brother! Well, here're your drinks. No charge," She added as James pulled out his money pouch. James didn't listen, and slapped a rather large bag full of coins onto the counter, "No charge, James. You've been too nice,"
"You've been letting me off charge quite a few times lately,"
"That was 3 times. I didn't want you to pay it back,"
"Fine, then I say it's a tip," Rosemerta counted the coins in the bag, and said, "James. This is approximately 100 Galleons. I can't accept that, take it back," She pushed the bags toward James, but instead, he pushed it back.
"No, I want you to keep it. I've noticed that you've been talking about wanting a new Café, so you're going to get a new Café, whether you like it or not,"
"Wow, I don't know what to say!"
"Oh, and the Café's actually already bought, just buy some more ingredients, and make more Butter-Beer. That's my only request," James left the counter, again dragging me, leaving Rosemerta with a very shocked and happy expression.
James sat me down, and pushed a dusty bottle towards me. I popped the cap, and took a deep sip.
"Harry? Has something been bothering you? You've seemed a little quieter since we left the Muggle hospital,"
"Just thinking,"
"About what?"
"18 years ago, when me, Ron and Hermione went to fight Voldemort,"
"Tell you what, right after this, we can go visit them,"
"No, actually, I want you to meet my kids, nieces and nephews,"
"That works for me. I mean, I don't have a job, so, I have a lot of free time,"
"Thought so. Alright," I took another drink of Butter-Beer.
"Guess the children'll have a surprise!"
"I'll bet,"
Please reveiw!
