"Mother are you done yet?" Nathan asked Selina, outside her room. It had been 1 week since their first heist, they did it again 4 days ago. And to there luck, they managed to escape before the Titans got there. So Selina decided to take Nathan to the carnival for the first time. Once Selina finished brushing her hair she opened her door to see her son standing there tapping his foot impatiently.
"Didn't I teach you how to be patient." Nathan rolled his eyes. "You taught me how to be patient during heists you never said anything about being patient all the time." Nathan smirked as Selina rolled her eyes.
"So are we walking or are we driving." "We're driving, I still need to buy you a cap." Selina said as she grabbed her keys and wallet. She glanced at her son, seeing his worried expression. "What if, he's there?" He said in a worried tone. Selina couldn't help chuckled a bit. "Nathan, I may not know much about about your brother, but I can tell that he's not the type to go to carnivals. So you have nothing to worry about." "Yeah you got a point, I mean the only way I think if he would go to a carnival is if someone dragged him there. So the chances of him being there are very low."
Selina smiled, "Exactly, so there's no need to worry. Honestly, what's the worst that could happen. "
"Why are we here again?" Damian asked. Kori and Dick both decided to take the Titans to the carnival again, especially after the incident with Catwoman and Catboy. It was mainly to try and calm Damian down, they've both noticed how Damian was becoming addicted to finding out who Catboy was. "Because we all could use a break. So we're here for some fun." Dick said.
"So that's why you hid Damian's sword?" Jaime asked, earning a glare from Damian. "That is one of the reasons, the other is because we all need some time to relax and have fun." Kori said.
"Well I have been wanting a rematch, unless you're to scared Damian?" Damian glared at Garfield and said. "I'm not afraid of anything, Garfield. If you wish to lose again, then so be it." "Well before you two start this "dancing tournament" we are going to have fun with the other contractions." Kori said, as she got out of the car.
The first thing they did was ride a roller coaster, then they played balloon and dart, which Damian won, then they went to the fairest-wheel. Garfield sat with Jamie, Kori with Rachel, and Damian was with Dick.
"So do you enjoy being apart of the Titans?" Dick asked. "If there is something you wish to say to me then say it." Damian said still looking at the city. "Okay, well Kori and I have been talking and, we think you should take a break from finding out who Catboy is." And just like Dick and Kori predicted Damian was not happy about that. "Why?! I'm close to finding out who he is, and when I find out who he is I'll know who Catwoman is!!" "Damian you barely get any sleep, you barely eat, and you're not training as much as you usually do! *Sigh* Look I understand, I want to find out who they are too, and I'm not asking you to stop. I'm just asking for you to take a break from this."
Damian looked backed at the city. "I'll take a break when they're behind bars." Dick sighed, knowing that arguing with Damian wasn't going to get anywhere.
"So are you having fun Nathan?" Selina asked her son. They had been at the carnival for almost an hour, and now they were eating. Selina was eating a hotdog with ketchup and mustard with some fries and a Sprite to drink. While Nathan just had some fries and a Vanilla milkshake. "Yeah this is so much fun, thanks for taking me here mother." "Your welcome." Everything was going great, that is until Selina saw something that made her blood go cold.
Selina quickly moved Nathan's cap to cover his eyes more. "Uhh Mother, what are you doing." Selina didn't need to answer. "Do mind if I sit here." Damian asked. Nathan felt his blood go completely cold. "Yes go ahead." Selina said, keeping her voice calm. Damian sat next to Nathan, who kept himself calm, and glanced at him. "The sun is not out, I see no purpose on you wearing that cap." Selina covered Nathan's ear. "When Nathan was about 4 months, him and his parents were in a car crash. His parents didn't make it, he barely survived. There was damage to his upper spine, causing him to go mute. And he wears that cap because he has some scars to cover the upper part of his face, he doesn't like it when other people see them."
Selina uncovered Nathan's ear. "I'm going to the bathroom, I'll be right back." She kissed the top of his head and left.
Nathan and Damian sat in silence.
An idea suddenly popped in Nathan's head. He moved his fries and milkshake between him and Damian. He grabbed a straw from his pocket and put it in his milkshake.
"I'm not hungry." A few seconds after Damian said that his stomach growled a bit. Damian blushed in embarrassment as Nathan grabbed one of his fries and handed it to Damian. He looked at the fry then looked at Nathan, he couldn't see Nathan's eyes but he could see Nathan's small smile. Something about his smile made Damian feel like he's known him all his life, like he could trust him.
Nathan felt happy when his brother took the fry and drank some of the milkshake. "First time?" Damian asked. Nathan nodded, knowing his brother was talking about him being here at the carnival. "Favorite ride." Nathan pointed at the fairest-wheel.
"Hmm, understandable the fairest-wheel is the most quietest place especially when you're at the top. Well, it depends if you sitting next to someone who is loud. But aside from that, you get a pleasant view of the city." Nathan nodded in agreement.
"I supposed it's rude of me to not introduce myself." Damian put his hand out. "Damian, Damian Wayne." Nathan took his hand and shook it.
"Hey little d, come on we're- Oh, who's your friend here?" Dick asked. "Dick this is Nathan, Nathan this is Dick, one of my older brothers." Nathan made a 'what the heck' look. "It's not my real name, my real name is Richard Grayson." Dick put his hand out. "It's nice to meet you." Nathan took his hand and shook it. "Ya know, if you want Nathan you and who ever you're here with, can hang with us for a bit. Only if you and your parents want to." "I think that's a great idea." Selina said as she approached the table.
She turned to Dick and put her hand out to him. "Selina, Selina Kyle." Dick took her hand. "Richard Grayson but my friends call me Dick."
Selina turned to her son. "Would you like to stay a little longer, with your new friend." Nathan smiled and nodded.
"Oh come on! How did you beat me a second time!?" Garfield said with his arms crossed. After a few more rides Damian and Garfield had there dance off. Which of course Damian won again. "I just have more talent than you." Damian replied with a smirk.
"Well this has been a fun night but it's time for me and Nathan to go. It's getting pretty late." Nathan yawned after Selina said that. Damian didn't want to leave, not because of the rides, he wanted to stay with Nathan. "I wish to ride the fairest-wheel once more before we go our separate ways."
Before anyone could reply Damian grabbed Nathan's hand and dragged him to the fairest-wheel, while Nathan holds his cap down.
"Well, I guess one more ride on the fairest-wheel wouldn't hurt." Dick said as he and the others headed to the fairest-wheel.
Jaime sat with Garfield, Dick with Kori, Rachel with Selina, and Damian with Nathan.
"You're afraid." Rachel said to Selina as they sat down. "What are you talking about?" Selina questioned. "You're afraid that one day your going to lose him. That he'll be taken away from you, and that there'll be nothing you can do about it." Rachel placed a hand on her shoulder. "I may not know much about your son, but what I can tell from tonight is that he is a kind and gentle soul. You raised him well." Selina smiled at Rachel.
"Do you play any instruments." Damian asked. Once him and Nathan sat down in the fairest-wheel Damian started asking him some questions. Nathan nodded and made it look like he was playing the clarinet. "So you play the clarinet,impressive I would like to see that one day." Nathan smiled.
"Do you have a phone?" Damian asked as he was about to grab his phone, but Nathan stopped him and shook his head. Damian raised an eyebrow. "Why? Do you use your mother's phone?" Nathan shrugged at the first question and nodded at the second question. "Think she would mind if I put my phone number in her phone so I could talk to you more?" Nathan shook his head.
Once the ride was over they started walking to the exit while Damian took Selina's phone and put his phone number on it without anyone noticing. But people with ski masks ran in and one of the started shooting in the air, which caused people to start screaming and running.
Immediately Damian grabbed Nathan and Selina's hands and quickly took them to the parking lot.
"You guys get of here quickly!!" Damian shouted as he ran back inside. Nathan started to run after him but Selina grabbed his arm. "What are you doing!?" Nathan got out of his mother's hold and ran inside while shouting. "If something happens to him I'll never forgive myself!!"
Selina followed him to make sure he doesn't get hurt.
The fight didn't last long. The Titans had tied them up, while Nathan and Selina were watching in the shadows. They were the only people left in the carnival.
"Okay Nathan, they stopped the robbers now can we please go before they noticed us." Selina whispered, to Nathan. As they were about to leave a robber that was hiding came out with a gun, aiming at Robin. Before he could fire a large rock was thrown at him.
Both the Titans and the Cats looked in the direction of where the rock came from and saw a girl with blonde hair standing there, her hands once glowing yellow went back to normal.
"Hi, my name is Terra, and I want to join the Titans." She said.
That was the last thing he heard before his mother grabbed his arm and took him to the parking lot to their car. Nathan had one thought in mind.
'Why does that girl look familiar.'
"Alright, what's wrong? You've been quiet the whole car ride here." Selina said as she close the door. She went to the couch, were Nathan was sitting and sat next to him. "It's nothing mother, it's just that girl earlier, Terra, she looked familiar. I know I've seen her before, I just don't know where."
"What about the lab? Maybe you saw her there." "I don't think so, they kept me in one room. And the few times I left the room they knocked me out. I was lucky enough to find a way out of there. Maybe I saw her when I ended up in Gotham, before we came here for your job." Nathan sighed as he got up.
"I'm going to go to bed, night mother." "Night Nathan." When Nathan closed the door to his room Selina got up and went to her room and looked out the window. She took her phone out and looked at the calendar, it would be a month before the go back to Gotham.
"Who's that?" Terra asked as she pointed at the screen. After the whole fight in the carnival the Titans took Terra to the tower and told her that they will train her a week to see where her skills are at. Now her, Dick and Kori were in the computer room and Terra saw a picture of Catboy.
"That's Catboy, Catwoman's son. There thieves and they stole from two different jewelry stores. We've been trying to find out who they are but we've had no luck." Kori said as she looked at Terra.
"It's getting late, why don't you go get some rest for tomorrow." Terra nodded as she left.
Once she got to her room she heard. "So that's where the brats been." Deathstroke said. "So he's the experiment that you told me about?" Terra asked as she laid down on her bed. "Yes, and I need him back. Find him before the Titans find out his true identity, especially Robin. If he finds out, he'll find out about you."
"How the hell am I supposed to find out where he is and deal with the contract?" "Find a way." Deathstroke replied as he turned off the communications. Terra just rolled her eyes and went to sleep.
(In case you guys didn't know, the Titans tower is in Jump City not Gotham city. And I know this isn't how Terra met the Titans but it's for the story, same thing with Selina. In this story Selina and Bruce were friends since they were little kids, but her and her family moved before Bruce's parents were killed and she had moved back to Gotham a few weeks before she found Nathan.)
