"Mother, do we have to go?" Nathan asked. Selina's business trip was over, so they were going to leave the next day. But Nathan didn't want to go back. He wanted to stay a little bit longer. Not because of the jewels in Jump City. He wanted to stay to be close to his brother. Right now they were packing their bags, since they had to leave early.
Selina sighed as she turned to her son. "Nathan we have to go back."
Nathan nodded sadly as he went to the living room and sat on the couch.
Selina went and sat next to him.
She placed a hand on his shoulder. "If it makes you feel any better, we'll be coming back a week after Thanksgiving. And it's only a few months away."
Nathan had a small smile on his face. "I guess." Selina hugged Nathan and got up. "Come on, let's finish packing. The sooner we finish the sooner you can see Damian at the cafe.
Nathan nodded and went to finish packing.
The day after the whole carnival incident Nathan and Damian had been texting each other often. And they both agreed to meet up at a cafe near Nathan and Selinas temporarily apartment every Saturday.
After they finished packing Nathan put some dark blue ripped jeans, a black long sleeve shirt with the words 'Weird is cool' in white, some dark grey converse, and his black and grey cap.
"Do you want me to drive you there?" Selina asked as she gave him 20. "No thanks, I like walking." He said as he put the money in his pocket.
"So you and your mother are returning a week after Thanksgiving?" Damian asked as he drank some of his water. Nathan nodded as he took a bite of his blueberry muffin. Something both Damian and Nathan had in common was that they both loved blueberry muffins. "Disappointed that we won't be able to come here on Saturdays, but it's a good thing that we still can text each other." Nathan nodded in agreement.
He then pointed at Damians leg. Damian rolled his eyes. "For the hundredth time my leg is fine. I just had an accident but I'm better now. So if you asked me one more time I will dislocate your leg." He replied with a smirk. Nathan gulped in fear, knowing his brother could easily do that.
After they finished at the cafe they went to the library.
Nathan was reading the first Harry Potter book while Damian was reading the fifth one.
Both of them were on a small couch. So they were a bit squished but they didn't mind.
After 10 minutes of reading Damian felt something on his shoulder. He looked to see Nathan had fallen asleep. Damian had noticed that sometimes Nathan looked tired, like if he was up the whole night. Damian wanted to take Nathan's cap, to see what he looked like. He was about to but something inside him told him that it was probably a bad idea, so he went back to reading. He let Nathan rest and use his shoulder as a pillow.
After 30 minutes of reading he decided to wake Nathan up so they could walk in the park.
Damian shook Nathan to wake him up. Nathan stirred a bit but didn't wake up. So he tried again but a bit harder. Nathan rubbed his eyes and sat up.
They put the books back and went to the park.
They sat on a bench while Damian told Nathan about his brothers.
"Do you have any siblings?" Damian asked. Nathan shook his head. "Do you want any siblings?" Nathan nodded.
Damian scoffed. "You should be lucky that you're an only child. I swear, everyday I get a headache because of them."
Nathan shrugged. "Well, at least you're not alone." Nathan mouthed.
Damian looked at him then looked away.
"I suppose you're right."
"Well, here we are." Damian said as both him and Nathan stopped at the apartment. "So, text me when you've made it to Gotham."
Nathan nodded and hugged Damian.
Damian tensed for a second and slowly, and I mean slowly, hugged back.
The hug lasted a few seconds as they pulled apart.
Nathan saw that Damian was blushing in embarrassment. "Sorry." He mouthed. "It's fine." Damian replied as he left.
While walking back to the tower, Damian couldn't stop thinking about the hug. Usually when someone hugs him he would push them away. He wasn't sure why he didn't or why he felt safe.
Damian shook the thought out and continued to walk back to the tower.
Once he got there he went to the computer room and started typing.
Damian remembers Nathan texting him when his birthday was, which surprised Damian that they had the same birthday, August 9th.
So he looked to see if there was any car crashes for months after Nathan was born, in Gotham.
There were five car crashes, two of them had fatalities.
But the weird thing was, there were no children in those cars.
Damian thought about this new information he founded.
'Perhaps his parents died a different way. Perhaps Selina doesn't want Nathan to know.'
He was about to look further before he heard. "What are you doing?" Terra asked.
Damian quickly deleted his search and turned the computer off. "That is none of your concern Terra." Damian said as he began to walk away. "Were you looking at information about your friend, what was his name again." Damian glared at Terra.
"Its Nathan, now leave me be." He turned and went to his room.
Nate:'I hate planes.'
Nathan texted Damian.
The sun was starting to set once him and Selina returned back to Gotham, with all the jewels they stole. It didn't take long for them to get back to their penthouse and to unpack.
Dami:'It's not scary to be on a plane Nathan. I don't know what you're so worried about.'
Nate:'Not scary? NOT SCARY!! You're flying a hundred feet in the air over a huge ocean and you're telling me 'it's not scary'.
Dami:'Technically, planes are between 30,000 and 42,000 feet in the air.'
Nathan rolled his eyes.
Nate:'I'm not surprised that you know that.'
Dami:'Of courseI do. What do you take me for, an imbecile?'
Nate:'...I can't tell if you're being serious or joking.'
Dami:'Maybe both.'
Nate:'-_-'
Dami:What?'
Nate:'Nothing. Just wondering if I'm friends with a adult who's trapped in a 13 year old's body.'
Dami:'You can believe me when I say that you're not the first person to tell me that.'
Nate:'Why am I not surprised.'
"Nathan! Dinners ready!" Selina called.
Nate:'Gotta go my mother's calling me. Text you later.'
Dami:'Alright, bye.'
Nate:Bye.'
_
Damian didn't know where he was. He looked around, he was in a room that was completely grey and there was nothing in the cold room. Then he heard footsteps coming towards the door. He tried to move but he couldn't.
The door opened and a little boy was thrown in the room, he wasn't moving.
Damian tried to move to the boy but couldn't, he looked like he was 4 years old. He couldn't see the boys face since his back was facing him.
After a few minutes the little boy started to wake up. Once the boy was awake he curled up in a ball and started to cry. Damian didn't know why but he felt a urge to hug the little boy and tell him that everything was going to be ok.
Then the little boy spoke. "What did I do? What did I do to deserve this? " The little boys voice sound like Damians when he was his age, which shocked Damian.
The little boy stopped crying and rubbed his eyes.
Damian stared at the boy and was very surprised to see that the little boy looked exactly like him but younger and with blue eyes.
"Why me?"
Damian shot up from his bed, gasping. He looked at the time on his clock. It was 3:41.
He sighed and laid back down. Trying to forget that dream. But something told him that it wasn't a dream.
(I looked up when Damians birthday wasand it said August 9th.)
