Lisbon is a struggling writer, her last few novels have all been unsuccessful and she is becoming increasingly concerned that her latest one will be too. That is until a certain man comes into her life who not only inspires her to write her greatest work yet, but he also teaches her about herself. But who is this seemingly mysterious stranger and what secret is he hiding? Jisbon.

Inventive, I know. But, it is exactly what it says it is - that is, no more than 100 words of pure Mentalist goodness, right from the start. Obviously she wanted to be with him – she wouldn't have gotten off of the plane otherwise. But what did that even mean? Are they just together all of the sudden? Is Jane her…boyfriend? Lisbon couldn't help but feel that that title was all wrong. But where do we go from here?

To him, she is the most lovely when she wakes him up in the morning, nicely at first then kicking him in the leg when he refuses. To her, he is the most charming when he enters the bathroom while she showers and gives her a mug of coffee. He calls it multitasking. Those little things look like promises, like forever, like happiness. Doesn't everyone deserve that?

They're both broken, and she can still see the cracks when they're held up to the light, but maybe it's the mixing of pieces and the sharing of scars that will make them whole again. They're not running anymore. He loves her. She loves him. And it might not be perfect, but nothing ever is, and it's a very good place to start. During/post 6.22, "Blue Bird".

"The heart monitor carried the steady beat of a cacophonous hospital symphony. Like the skeleton of a musical piece the sections were slowly stripped away, jangling tools and monotone hums faded, exposing the bass: the beat of her heart." Lisbon moved to DC with Pike but a car crash sends her to the hospital. Jane rushes over and tries to find the courage to tell her how he feels.

Spoilers for End of season 6: Jane and Lisbon's new relationship is put through the wringer when Thomas Volker reveals that a new Blake Association led by Red John's son is working for their own revenge, the only solution is to let Volker go undercover but he has his own agenda and it involves some terrible things for Lisbon.
