After Jane kills Red John, the CBI is still intact, but Jane still can't bring himself to tell Lisbon how he feels. As Christmas begins to roll around Jane can't stand the thought of spending another Christmas alone and decides to tell Lisbon how he feels by giving her the best Christmas he possibly can.

"He's still looking at her intently and she sees the exact moment the light in his eyes dims and a muted sadness takes its place. 'I'm gonna miss you,' he says after a moment, so quietly she strains to hear him. 'I just had to say that in person. You deserve that much.'" An alternate Jisbon good-bye scene post 6x08. Slight AU.
