When you're in a secret ninja force and are your city's primary protectors, pulling your weight is important. Jay tries to be an asset to his team, but it's difficult when he's viewed as the scaredy-cat who cracks lame jokes. He loves his friends with all his heart, but sometimes it's hard to know if they return those feelings. Jay wouldn't blame them if they didn't.

Some mistakes are hard to let go of. After ruling with an icy grip over the Never Realm for decades, Zane wonders if it's truly possible to see things like they were before. He's told he's the same person, but what does that matter if he doesn't actually feel like that? He's not the only one who feels like they can't live up to everyone's expectations.

Several days after the defeat of the Sons of Garmadon, a dark cloud suddenly appears and Oni claims that he can help the Ninja against the ones responsible: The Oni.

There are some things that everyone knows for certain. Like how the sky is blue, or how thunder always follows lightning. Zane is a nindroid. Perfectly programmed to assess any situation at a moment's glance, he knows he can never miscalculate the odds for any particular outcome. And he knows this is something he has to do.

"Well, we don't have to worry about it then," Lloyd smiled, trying to push back the thought that there could be a group based around his father when he was being controlled by the venom of the Devourer, "it's probably just some misguided criminal who thought it looked cool."
