I think Zane should have talked to Cole in S5 about suddenly no longer being human- or, believing you're human, at least. About getting to sleep at night when it's too quiet, whether because you're without the beat of your heart or without the ticking of decades-old irreplaceable gears. Zane, knowing it isn't the same, trying to help anyway, because Cole helped him through it.
