Chapter 9
Present-day
It has been a few years now and Roxy and her dad Shaun have had the burial for Roxy's mother Isabella and Roxy was now 16 years old and in high school the same high school that her sister was in before all that had happened during the summer that Lily had taken her to Egypt.
But she did find something very strange no one was asking where Lily was or asking how she was doing it was as if Lily was never born even the photographs that hung up in the new house only had her, her mum and her dad in then when Roxy knew that Lily had been in the photos as well when the photos had been taken.
She had wanted to ask her dad about it but she knew that he never wanted to talk about her sister again. It's been like that since she had gone missing while the three of them were in Egypt looking at the old ruins of the palace.
Roxy was just about to leave class when one of her friends stopped her it was Lucy Emmie's younger sister "Roxy have you heard anything about your sister will she come back to this school" Lucy asked quietly
"Lucy why are you asking about my sister Lily no one has asked or talked about her for about 2-3 years now why the sudden interest" Roxy said as she held the book that she was reading closer
"Roxy everyone is wondering what happened that summer when Lily took you to Egypt to find your dad just after your mum had been killed and they are also wondering why it was only you and your dad that came back I know Lily was looking for answers on why her mother left her when she was only little"
"You and everyone else wouldn't believe me if I told you or anyone what happened that year, I know Lily is still alive and I know that she is safe as its the only thing I have that keeps me sane in the house with my dad as he's taken everything off my sister down and put all her stuff in the attic it's like he doesn't want her in the house anymore and I miss her," Roxy said as she tried to keep her tears from her eyes as she looked at Lucy.
"Roxy I would believe you my sister Emmie would believe you and I'm sure your family on your mums said would believe you if you were to tell them what happened to Lily"
"No, Lucy, my mum's sister and her family must never know what happened to my sister or they will take me from dad and I will never be able to see Lily again if that happens," Roxy said with tears running down her face.
Roxy and Lucy were leaving for their next class when Roxy stopped as she went past her sister's old locker "Lucy you go on ahead I'm going to ask reception if I can have a key to my sister's old locker I want to see if I can find anything in her locker to see if there are any clues or something.
As Roxy turned and made her way back to the school office she heard a noise of something falling to the ground not far from where she was standing she was going to ignore it but changed her mind and as she made her way over to where the school lockers are she noticed something on the floor just at the edge of the school locker that she knew to be her sisters as she bent down to pick it up she gave a gasp as what she had in her hand was her sister's necklace which was a heart shape locket but that couldn't since she knew that Lily would never take off and that she had put it on while in Egypt and was still wearing while reading the old runes of the old palace in Egypt and was then taken to what she assumed was ancient Egypt so how was the necklace back here in her own time in the school at her sisters locker.
Roxy held the locket close and walked as fast as she could to the office to see if she could get a key to the locker that once was her sisters just by luck the headmistress of the school was in the office at the time "Miss Johnston, miss johnson" Roxy called as load as she could without disturbing the rest of the office staff "Mis Ross you should be in class why are you here" Miss Johnston I was going to class but I wanted to ask if there was a spare key to the locker that my sister had two years ago as I found this by it and I need to know if Lily had anything in there that she didn't bring home summer two years ago please".
