Chapter 10
Jayden Riddle hideout
At the South end of Egypt lays a small village called Thebes - four days ride on horseback from the Palace. It was through the streets of that village that Jayden Riddle wandered once again.
He stared up at the grand archway above him, his heart sinking with sorrow at it's crumbling remains.
The remnant of a time long gone when this village thrived and the people within her walls prospered.
Jayden Riddle was the only survivor of the village that once thrived with women and children, that was until one day while he was walking through the village he noticed a young woman with shoulder-length hair that was red and dark green eyes that show that she has powerful aura within her and the outfit that she wore was like one outfit from the pharaoh's concubine.
Jayden had stopped a few feet from her and asked "excuse me what are you doing here and how did you find this village and who are you"
"My name is Hathor, and I have travelled a long way as I have just escaped from some slave traders who had taken me from my village and I require a place to stay for the night and as I was travelling your village was the only place I could find," Hathor said as she looked at Jayden who was standing across from her as she looked at Jayden her eyes change colour but Jayden didn't seem to notice as he had turned away from looking at her.
Jayden turned from Hathor and started walking towards how he came but stopped again and looked over his shoulder to Hathor and said "are you coming I'll show you where you can stay for a few nights" Jayden said as he walked towards his house which was in the middle of the village.
Once he was near his house, he showed Hathor the spare bedroom that he said she could have
While staying with him just until she was back on her feet.
A few weeks passed and Hathor had found a small house in the village that she had turned into her own little house but it was during those last few weeks that Jayden noticed something going on whenever Hathor was around he could sense a dark aura around Hathor and today he was going to ask her about it.
It was during the day when both Hathor and Jayden were fixing some houses up in the village trying to bring the village back to its former self where there used to be children running around women talking in groups and men hunting and building when the village was destroyed Jayden didn't only those his friends or his whole village he also lost his sisters who were only 3 years old.
Flashback
The village of Thebes was just on the edge of the valley of the kings, it was a quiet village the only sounds that could be heard are to the sounds of children laughing as they ran around playing women singing while they gathered food from trees near their houses and you could hear the men working on the fields to gather wheat and watch their flock of sheep.
Today was the day of Jayden Riddle's twin sister's birthday. The girls were identical to each other though people always said that Jayden was a twin to his sisters, as many of the village people thought all three of the children were triplets even though Jayden was 10 years older than them.Â
It was a pleasant summer's day Jayden had been up since 5 am helping in the fields with all the other boys and men, though most of the boys that went to help only played around.
It had just gone 7am, when Jayden started to make his way back to his house as he knew that his mother would be up now and getting his sisters up and today was a special day for his twin sisters as it was their third birthday and he had saved up some money to get them something each for their birthday.
Jayden had just walked into his house and found his mother as in the kitchen "morning mother are Auset and Luna awake yet I have something for them"
"Morning Jayden yes they should be up but Jayden you know we don't have the money to get them anything at least I can't and I feel so bad about it."
"Mom don't worry I used the money that I had saved up from all of my other jobs that I have been doing around the village it's something that can protect them from the darkness that is about to come to Egypt at least I hope it will protect them" Jayden said and he pulled out too beautiful necklaces one in shape of the moon and one in shape of the sun.
"Oh Jayden the girls will love them and they mean their names right" Jayden's mother asked as she took the two necklaces from her son to have a better look at them before handing them back to him so that he could place them where his sister wouldn't see them until it was time for their presents.Â
"I couldn't find anything in the village that would mean Auset's name but the moon does sand for Luna, I just wish Auset had something that would mean her but the merchant that sold me them told me they were very good for protection from evil" Jayden said as he took his gifts back from his mother and moved over to one of the high cabinets in their kitchen and hid the gifts there as he didn't want his sisters to see them just yet.
"I still have some money left over so I can take the girls out to get them some toys so that they have something to play with before bringing them back for the small party that you and the whole village have been planning" Jayden said to his mother as he made way back to his mother's side.
"I'm sure the girls will love that Jayden. Why don't you go and see what is keeping your sisters as they should be getting up right now?"
"I'm hoping that they do and I'll go see where the girls are and bring them down for breakfast," Jayden said as he made his way out of the kitchen and towards his sister's bedroom.
"Auset, Luna are both you girls awake mum has breakfast set up and then I'm going to take you out for awhile"
"Yes, Jayden we'll be down in 5 minutes" Luna called to her brother through the door.
"Okay don't take too long or your breakfast will get cold and we'll miss the chance to get out for the next few hours" Jayden said as his away from his sister's room and towards his own so that he could change out of the clothes that he was wearing.
A few minutes later the two girls were up, dressed and were just now finishing their breakfast "so Jayden where are we going" Luna asked her brother as she just finished eating her food.
"Once both of you have eaten Jayden will be taking you out into town for a short while" their mother told the two girls
A few hours after everyone had eaten, Jayden decided now was a good time to take his two little sisters out for a short time so that their mother could get the small house ready for the girl's party.
"Luna, Auset come on it's all most dinner time and you know what moms like if we're late" Jayden said as he took the hands of his sisters and hurried them home they had just entered the house when he turned back to the door as he could hear horses in the distance "mom take the girls and hide it's the guards of the Pharaoh"
"No Jayden you go hide with your sisters I'll see to the guards" Jayden's mother said as she hurried to the door but before she got there and before Jayden could hide his sisters the guards broke down the door grabbed his mother while another two grabbed his two younger sister
"Wait what you doing they're just kids let them go Jayden tried to pull the guards off his sisters but the guard that was holding them knocked him to the side where he feel and hit his head on the edge of the table knocking himself out.
Flashback End
Back at the Palace Lily, Atemu and Alex could be found in the palace gardens talking about the party that was being done by the Queen and since they were sent out there as the Queen was planning a party for her two sons.
As the three of them sat together, Alex turned to Lily and asked if she had found a way back to her time, yet Lily turned from looking out at the gardens to look at Alex
"No Alex I haven't but I'm hoping to find a way soon I'm really worried about my sister as I'm all she has apart from my dad but he is always working"
"How far have you looked for the spell anyway Lily and once you find what you are looking for what are you going to do," Atemu asked as he too looked at lily
"I'm not sure what I'm going to do once I find the spell but I know I want to wait before I returned home to my Family, I want to know more about my family that are from Egypt and as for how far I have got on looking for the spell I have got about halfway through the library but that's about it"
It was later that night when Lily was walking back to her little house in the village that she sensed something dark she quickened her steps so that she could get into her house a lot faster just as she was 5 minutes from her door a hand came out of the shadows and grabbed her by the wrist while the other hand covered her mouth to stop her from screaming.
"Lily its okay it's just me" whispered the voice so quiet it stopped Lily in her tracks "now I'm going to take my hand from your mouth so don't scream please" the voice said again before removing their hand.
"Atemu what the hell are you doing here" Lily asked as she turned so that she was looking at Prince Atemu, who she thought was in the Palace.
"I wanted to ask you something but wanted to do it away from my brother," Atemu said as he held Lily close to him and pulled her along behind her to a path that led to a hiding garden at the back of the Palace.
"Atemu, where are we going? It's late and I want to try and sleep since for the last few nights I have been up late reading and the Queen wants me to be at the palace early in the morning" Lily said as she tried to keep up with the young prince.
"Atemu will you please stop and tell me what has gotten into you, and why are we hiding what is going on?†Lily asked as she pulled her arm out of the prince's hand and turned to look at the young prince.
"Sorry Lily but you know how my mother is planning a birthday party for both myself and my brother well I was wondering if you o me the honour of being my guest at the party or at least go with me to the party"
"Atemu I would like that very much but really you could have just asked me in the morning but about your brother, and not only that I’m going to be at the party anyway as your mother has asked me to help with setting it up so I really need to go home so that I can get a little sleep since I need to be at the palace really early to help out" . Lily said as looked at her friend.
“Oh I didn't know that and as for Alex he will have betrothed there"
"I didn't know Alex was betrothed to anyone but then I haven't been here that long I'll see you in the morning Atemu as it's late and I really want to sleep right now" Lily said again before going to turn and walk away but stop turned but to Atemu and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before rushing off in the direction of her house.
Two weeks later Lily was on a seat in the palace gardens with her notebook and drawing pad sketching out some drawing of the area around her and of the people that she meet while here and humming a song that she thought was good to with what she was drawing.
When a shadow feel upon her so she looked up saw that it was the young Queen "good morning your Majesty" Lily said as she stopped humming a song that she had stuck in her head for a while now
"ah Lily just the person I was looking for I was wondering if you could help me with the boys party that is tonight"
"I would love to help by with what may I ask there's not much that I can do for the princes" Lily said as she put away her drawing items in her bag that she always carried with her.
"You may not have much to give but what I just heard now while you where humming sounded amazing and now I wondering if you would sing one of the songs tonight at the party"
"Oh, um, but I'm not that god at singing your Highness" Lily said quietly while looking a little embarrassed at having been heard humming a song that her sister loved "Oh Lily you sound amazing and that was just from your humming I would love to actually hear you sing the song that you where humming"
"Um ok" Lily said sighing before taking a sort breath
Best friends they come and go depending on your highs and your lows,
My best friend decided not to be there when I needed them the most

"Well Lily I was right you do sing beautifully and I love if you where to sing at the party tonight"
"Thank you, your highness and I would love to sing tonight do you have a song in mind for what you want me to sing or do you want me to find one" Lily asked as she looked back at the young Queen again
"You chose the song my dear and I have already told you to call me Tamara"
"Of course my Queen-Tamara."
It had been a few days since Lily and Queen Tamara had spoken about her singing at the party for the two princes. But Lily was still not sure on what song to sing even though the party was in another three days.
Lily was in her room of her house in where she was going through her drawing journal and looking at her drawings that she had done of her sister and her dad along with drawings that she had done of the two princes and the surrounding area of Egypt.
As she was looking at her drawings she noticed that she had some words written down of a song that she found familiar to her and she decided to try and sing some of it to herself while she made her way up to the Palace.
"I had the strangest dream last night
About another space and time
A kingdom a child
It's so familiar"
As she sung those words quietly to herself she wasn't sure if they would be any good for the party so she thought of the other words that she saw while looking in the journal which sounded a little better than the other song.

But once again the song didn't feel right so she found the last one that she had written in her drawing journal as it was on the same page as a drawing that she had done of her sister at a very young age and she knew that this was the song that she would like to sing the night of the party decision made she finished making her way towards the Palace.
When Lily got to the Palace the Queen was standing at the steps waiting for her at Lily just who I was looking come there is something I would like to speak to you about if you would follow me"
"Of course but, may I asked what it is that you would like to talk about with me" Lily asked as she made her way up the steps of the palace and stood next to the Queen "I am wanting to talk to you about moving into the Palace but only if you are whiling to do that" the queen asked as she looked at Lily.
"May I have some time to think abut it" Lily replied to the Queen as he both of them made their way into the palace and towards the Queen's office.
When they had reached the office of the Queen Lily had thought about what the Queen had asked about moving into the Palace she wasn't really sure if she should or not and she said as much to the Queen but also said that she do on a trail bases as well to see how she feels while living in the palace.
It was now the night of the party for the two Princes and Lily had settled into living in the Palace but there are times that she will feel uncomfortable.
Lily was in her room getting ready for the party and getting to learn her words for the song that she would be singing tonight for her two friends as she was getting ready there was a knock at the door she went over answered it to see that it was Prince Atemu and his brother at the door
"hello Atemu, Alex give me two till five minutes I just have put in these earrings and then my hair but I am almost ready to go" Lily said as she made her way back into the room that she was staying in
"if you both want to head on down with your Parents I will catch up just as soon as my hair is sitting properly" Lily said just as she finished putting in the earring set that the Queen had gotten her now she just had to get her hair to sit a way that she would like for it to.
"Are you sure Lily we don't mind waiting for you" Alex replied to Lily as he look around the room
"I'm sure Alex your father can not start the party with the both of you there so go and I will be right behind you so don't worry" Lily sighed quietly as she watch both boys who she had become good friends with these last few months.
Not long after the two princes had left Lily got her hair to sit up in a bun where it would then fall in curls down her back as it would go with the dress that she had decided to wear that night which was a off the shoulder blue dress that stopped at her ankles now that she was ready she made her way to where ball was being held which was in the throne room as she got closer she noticed that the Queen was who stood outside waiting for her as the Pharaoh and the two princes where no where to be found and guested that they must have already be inside.
"good evening my Queen" Lily said quietly as she gave a short curtsey to the Queen
"Are you all set Lily" Queen Tamara questioned Lily as she gave a small curtsey back.
"As ready as I will ever be my Queen" Lily replied back to the Queen while also trying to calm her nerves before entering with the Queen. As they entered the throne room the Pharaoh stood to bring everyones focus onto him at the front of the room "Good evening everyone Would like to thank each and everyone of you came tonight as you may have noticed the Queen was not next to me tonight that is because she was with a guest who has kindly taken upon themselves as this person will be singing tonight as a special gift to the two Princes may I introduce Miss Lady Lily Roth who will be singing a song that she has chosen for tonight."
As the Pharaoh called out her name she made her way forward with the Queen next to her as both Lily and the Queen made their way towards the Pharaoh Lily could hear the whispers going on around her 'she look like the Queen' 'does the queen have a twin sister' 'why does she look like the queen' 'who is she' as the final whisper was spoken both she and the Queen had already made it to the throne and now stood next to the Pharaoh who she gave a short curtsey to before looking on ahead and waiting for the Pharaoh to step back "and now I will leave you all in Lady Lily's hands the pharaoh said as he and his wife stepped back so that Lily would have the time to take a deep breath close her eyes and start singing.

As Lily sung the last bit of the song all that she could think about was her sister who she knew loved the song that she just finished and stepped back so that she could then step down from where the throne sat and walked over to the two princes.
