Chapter 4: Friends or Enemies:

Jack watched his tree came into view and he noticed Katherine standing on a branch waiting for him.

"Hello Jack." she said calmly.

"Hi, what are you doing here?"

"I'm headed with you to Arendalle, at least for today my father is watching over Santoff Claussen."

"I…well here's the thing umm…" Jack stammered "I- I found people who know about magic." he muttered under his breath.

Katherine smiled at this. "Who were they?"

"I only met one of them, they said their sister has magic though. They called their sister 'the snow queen'."

Katherine nodded at this as she stared into the distance at the buildings that were barely visible through the thick leaves.

"Do you think they're one of those people?" Jack nodded.

"At least the snow queen is."

Katherine smiled in agreement as she rose to her feet tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Shall we go?"

Jack sighed and begrudgingly rose to his feet. "I really don't want you to come."

Katherine turned, fixing a look at Jack and smiled. "I'm coming" Jack sighed, rubbing his eyes before pulling the snow globe out of his pocket and throwing it against the tree.

"It'll be ok." Katherine whispered to Jack as she gave his hand a reassuring squeeze before letting go watching as the portal activated before jumping through.

Jack took a deep long breath and jumped after. Moments later he felt himself falling through the air. He gripped his staff and quickly twisted his body so he was floating instead of falling. He looked around and saw Katherine waiting for him on the ground.

"Sorry, I probably should have told you about that." Jack told her sheepishly as he landed next to her and Katherine rubbed the back of her neck and stretched, her back popping.

"Yes, that would have been best."

"You ok?"

"I'll live, yes."

Jack watched as Katherine's light gray eyes took in the castle and massive courtyard. "Wow" she laughed to herself as Jack helped her up.

"Yeah, umm welcome to the 1800s somehow.."

"What!"

"My thoughts exactly."

"Alright well shall we?" Katherine asked as she gestured toward the castle. Jack gave her a wary look but nodded. The two of them then crept quietly into the castle careful to now give themselves away in case there were any nearby children.

Katherine turned into a massive halfway and froze causing Jack to bump into her. Standing a few feet away was a woman with white-blonde hair and aqua blue eyes. She was humming softly and had a very dignified manner to her.

"I'm going to assume this is the snow queen?"

"Elsa!" Jack turned and then noticed Anna hurrying towards the other woman.

Katherine smiled at the girl before walking over to her. She moved to place her hand on her shoulder, Jack winced as her hand fased through the other woman but gave a small exhale of relief as Anna seemed to not have noticed them yet.

"She can't see us, Katherine." Jack told her softly. "But Anna." he pointed towards the ginger. "Can!"

"Alright then, ask Anna about her sister."

"What!" Jack hissed back at her.

"You heard me now go on." Katherine said beckoning Jack to the young woman. Jack glared at Katherine as he turned to the young woman and let out a deep exhale.

"Anna.." He began softly. "Umm, is this your sister?"

Anna blinked and stiffened but continued to talk to the other woman. An Idea then came to Jack as he gently ran his staff against the wall, a small layer of frost appearing at the touch.

He smiled as Anna and the other woman's conversation paused and they both turned to the wall.

"Anna what is that…" The other woman whispered in awe.

"Ummm. you gotta believe me Elsa but it's from Jack Frost." Anna stammered as she wrung her hands.

"What? That's impossible." Elsa whispered as she raised her own hands and ran a finger down the particles of ice that grew along the wall.

We're just getting started, Queeny. Jack taped the end of his staff against a nearby table and ice began to form on the table which climbed up and coated a vase filled with a bouquet of flowers.

"No, no no." the young woman then whispered to herself turning to the vase. This made Jack pause for a moment. "Please stop." she whispered as she flicked her hands a look of deep concentration on her face.

"Elsa you're not causing it I promise it's Jack." Anna said frantically as she shot a glare at Jack.

"Jack stop, wait." Katherine interrupted placing a hand on Jack's shoulder.

"Let up on your control over your magic."

"Excuse me what?"

"I-I just want to see something."

Jack obeyed and mentally began to loosen his control over his magic, letting his grip on his staff loosen. The Snow Queen then flicked her wrist and the ice and frost began to slowly disappear. Jack heard the young woman give a sigh of relief as she placed a hand to her chest. Katherine placed a hand over her mouth to stifle a gasp of surprise.

"See I must have just lost control for a moment." Elsa said, staring at the wall where the frost had vanished. Anna opened her mouth but then closed it glaring at Jack.

"Did you see that?" Katherine whispered to Jack.

"uh huh."

Jack waved his hand. A small snowflake danced at the tips of his finger as he walked over to the snow queen.

He flicked his finger and the snowflake floated over to Elsa landing on the tip of her nose leaving a cloud of blue sparkles. Katherine and Jack both held their breath as the young woman blinked slowly, placed a hand to her head and then looked around.

Come on Queeny come on. Jack thought frantically. The young woman let out a small groan and looked straight at Jack with a look of deep concentration. Jack heard Katherine sigh as the young woman stared straight through them.

"What did you do to her!" Anna mouthed at them as Katherine placed a hand on Jack's shoulder before turning to go. Jack tilted his head, a puzzled look etched into his face.

Jack flicked his hand sending a snowflake at the queen once more. "Believe Queeny." he muttered as the snowflake hit her nose. After a few moments the Snow Queen then opened her eyes. A high pitched scream then echoed the hall followed but a pained grunt.

Jack clasped his hand to his face as the Snow Queen clutched her hand to her chest in fright.

"What are you doing here!" she screamed.

"I have a better question: do you always hit someone when you meet them, Hmmm?" Jack asked as he rubbed his red cheek.

"Oh I'm sorry I just wasn't expecting some creep to be staring at me all of a sudden!" She shot back.

"How about you both calm down okay?" Katherine suggested as she extended her hands to the Snow Queen and Anna.

"I tried telling you I'm sorry." Anna said as Elsa protectively held her arm in front of her ushering her away from the two spirits.

"Who are you both and how did you get in here?" she asked fearfully as she backed away.

"Please calm down, we're not here to hurt you."

"I'm actually siding with her, this doesn't look good in our favor." Jack muttered, thrusting a thumb towards Elsa as he turned to Katherine.

"We tried telling he- ohhh never mind!" Katherine muttered in exasperation before turning to Elsa looked horrified as she clutched onto Anna. "Please calm down." the brunette whispered gently, extending a hand to Elsa.

"Do, not faint." Jack commanded Elsa as she began to look flushed and rapidly suck in breaths of air. Flicking his staff a cool breeze then blew around the two sisters as Elsa breathed deeply and stared at the floor.

"This makes no sense, I must be dreaming or this is from stress or…" Elsa asked meekly, turning to Anna desperately.

"Nope." Jack muttered as Katherine shot him a warning look.

"What do you want?" Elsa then asked carefully as she glanced at the two spirits.

"The only reason I'm here is to help five people, who have experience with magic, one of which includes you, we think."

"What…"

"Your kingdom has the symbol of that flower or whatever right?" Jack asked as he tapped his staff against the wall causing the flower to appear on the wall.

"Yes." Anna nodded. "What about it?"

"Well we got a message from man in moon and we saw your flower thing in it and I was told to come here to find people who know about magic." Jack explained as he made the frost fade.

"I…many people have seen magic here." Elsa finally said.

"Like who?" Elsa narrowed her eyes in suspicion.

"I'm not telling you." she muttered. "Why would I."

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience your majesty, perhaps we can talk more later." Katherine suggested as she grabbed Jack's hand protectively.

"Yes.." Anna nodded. "That would probably be best." she continued as she began to lead Elsa down the hall.

"Let's get out of here." Jack whispered.
