~~~Recap~~~
As the friends ordered and enjoyed their brunch over the conversation. (Y/n) kept contemplating on whether to take the advice and move on or stay silent. In the end, walking back home, the (h/c) haired adult made up their mind to at least try. There's a saying that actions say more than just plain words.
~~~Time Skip Morning of the event~~~
-(Y/n) Point of View-
"(Y/n)! Hurry up, we gotta take our asses to the yoga class!" (F/n) shouts from our living room.
I groan in laziness as I get up from the desk in my room. After being a broke college student for so long and a part-timer at a night bar, I had managed to work around a painfully strict budget unless I wanted to drop out of school and hit the corner side. So why was I taking yoga classes in the first place? For my mental and emotional health...Yeah, right. there's only one person who convinced me of getting out and that's (F/n). I love them to death for being there for me and us dragging each other out of university years but (F/n)'s way of getting a benefit out of everything, are concerning on their own. They always find a way of getting even the smallest clue out of everything, which is why they would fit perfectly as a forensic scientist.
I change my outfit for the class and grab my mat as I sling my backpack over my shoulder, fixing it on my way out to (F/n).
"Alright, alright, I'm ready, let's go!"
And with that we make our way to the yoga studio.
*One Yoga session Later*
"I still don't get how flexible you are, my body aches everywhere!" (F/n) exclaims, massaging their neck as we walk out.
"I would say I told you to not give up on it, but silence would be a better answer here," I grin as they pout.
"Anyways, once again remember we are leaving 5pm later today. It's not the best to go alone lately, too many assaults"
"Yeah, I even got the night off so you won't have to go home alone, Nick has been a pain to get in contact with."
"Awesome, this time you won't fall out on me. Your boss depends on you too much, it's like he doesn't have other workers to help him out"
"Don't remind me, I feel tired out just hearing drunken people asking for the female bartenders to serve them. But I'm glad he did start hiring more workers."
"Why don't you look for a different job then?" (F/n) suggests.
"Because~ this b*tch got a degree in comp sci and is aiming for the big leagues. I started applying for internships in major companies that are in need of someone to fix their software systems." I give (F/n) a big smile and pointing to myself with my thumb.
"So I am going to assume you will be quitting your current job some time after that?"
"Hopefully...heh" (F/n) shakes their head as I rub my neck nervously.
-3rd P.O.V.-
A new report plays on the television of the roommate's living room. The increase of assaults in central city have affected the night side of small businesses. It warned citizens to take extra caution and suggest being in a group when going out tonight. Once (F/n) was finished getting ready, the roommates head out together to S.T.A.R. Labs.
The Sunset turned to dark as the two friends merged within the spectators and the press who were listening to the announcer who welcomes Harrison Wells. The well-known man begins his speech thanking the public for supporting their project, the Particle Accelerator.
-(Y/n) POV-
The Harrison Wells in person, my eyes gleamed in excitement, it's not everyday that this nerd sees a famous scientist. (F/n) nudges my shoulder and whispers to me "See, this is worth coming". I nod in agreement with eyes wide open and we continue to listen. After a few minutes in, (F/n) gets a text that makes them smile. With a quick tap to my shoulder, they say.
"Hey, follow me real quick." I raise my eyebrow confusion, following them through the heavy crowd.
I search for (F/n) after getting out of the crowd of people. (F/n) is with Cisco. Oh shit, (F/n) is with Cisco! I start to get anxious, I breathe in and out as I approach them. It's been so long since I seen him. I need to be normal. Yeah, act like I normally do! Wait, what is normal?!
"(Y/n), you finally caught up. And I would've thought you made a run for it. Guess who made a special appearance! The one and one! Ya Boy! Cisco! Told you it wouldn't be a dramatic reunion." They stretch their arms open vertically and point to Cisco Ramon.
"Hello Stranger! Long time no see, " He gives us a warm smile, "How have you been?"
My anxiety goes away as opens his arms offering a hug. I smile and take his offer.
"It's been too long, I thought my mentor had forgotten about his pupils" I relax in his arms and feel (F/n) join in the hug.
Cisco chuckles, and the conversation takes off as if nothing awkward ever happened. The nostalgia hits, bringing the atmosphere into a pleasant one. Cisco had explained to me that awkward incident from that time was resolved after he asked the rest of my group members of what happened. After hearing the full story, Cisco understood why I had reacted the way I did. Putting an introvert in the spotlight against their will is a petty move done by the female upperclassman just to get a small moment of attention. In the end, I had nothing to worry about, I felt my cheeks slightly heat up from being retold of my nature back then. (F/n) scolded Cisco for losing contact with them, but it just turned out that he worked non-stop for this project. We all laughed it off and filled each other in on our new lives. Unfortunately due to reality being a bitch, our reunion became short-lived, a phone suddenly rings in my pocket. I take it out and see the caller ID.
"Damn it, hey I'll be right back, gotta take this call " I reassure them. They both nod at me as I quickly walk outside the building, bumping into a couple. I apologize to the brown haired, brown eyed female and her brown haired, blue-eyed boyfriend, I would assume. Taking a few more steps out, I clear my throat and answer the phone.
"(Y/n) Speaking."
"Oh thank god, you picked up. Doll, I need you to come in tonight. It's a full house tonight and training the newbies are taking too much time." It's my boss, Nick.
"Nick, I'm off tonight, have you asked Sebas? Or Emily?" Slight eyebrow rises as if he were to see my expressions.
"They're here too, it's just a hectic night. I hate to do this to you since you don't often take shifts off but I really need your help, I'll even give you a bonus for your troubles." Nick pleads.
I sigh in defeat, the rent has been rising for our apartment and (F/n) have been looking into new neighborhoods to move into.
"Okay, Okay, I get it, I'll be there soon. Just know that once the rush hour passes, I'm leaving, no excuses."
"Thank you Doll, See y-" A breaking noise interrupted his sentence mid-way, "Sebastian! Can you check up on the newbie in the back!... Sorry (Y/n), See you soon." He hangs up and I hang my head down low.
"Fuck, how am I going to explain this to (F/n)" I grit my teeth in annoyance.
I walk back into the building and search for my friends still talking with each other and enjoying their time. I explain the call to both of them. Cisco surprised that I work at a night bar as a part-timer, makes a joke about going to hang out there after the event for good old time sake. However, (F/n) doesn't take the new too well since I would be breaking our agreement to go home together. Cisco offered to walk her home after the event ended. I apologize for having to leave before the main event can start, luckily Cisco offers to take her home, they oblige. After exchanging good byes and hugs, I head out the building once more. So much for taking the day off.
The night sky covered Central city leaving the stars and moon to shine brightly, I hope that the walk to work calms my irritation or else, I'll break a bastards' wrist. I breathe through my nose and exhale through my mouth, sending a small puff of white that disappears in the air. It must have gotten colder in the recent nights.
*Crack*
Shit...
