Part I - A Dimmed Light

~~~Recap~~~
~Cisco's P.O.V.~
I get a call instead of a text message from (Y/N), I pick up.
"Hello?"
"Cisco, get to the hospital now!"
~Cisco's P.O.V.~
Worry dreads my thoughts as I arrive at the hospital, seeing (Y/n) in the lobby with the receptionist. The receptionist informs us what room our friend is in. (Y/n) and I both go searching for said room, not bothering with a greeting. We reached (F/n)'s room, but the doctor stopped us from entering.
"Woah there, you can't go in there. Are you both relatives of (F/n)?" the doctor asks.
"No, but we're close friends. what's going on doctor? Is (Y/n) alright?" I respond.
The once concerned expression from the doctor was replaced with a stern expression.
"The burns were too much for the patient, her pulse was stabilized but it was very weak. She...It's uncertain if she will recover in time to give her more treatment."
I look at (Y/n) with wide eyes, this is why the sudden plea to get here so fast. The worry I had turned into rising guilt. What happened that night with Caitlin and Rodney(SP) was still freshly replaying in my mind. And now it's worse. (F/n) may not even make it. All because of the particle accelerator.
The doctor allows us to enter the room to see our friend. (Y/n)'s hand clenches, clearly not taking this news too well. (F/n), our friend, lays on the medical bed with many wires connected to all parts of her body. (Y/n) and I take a moment of silence, processing what we see. I lower my head in guilt about to speak.
"(F/n)... I'm so sorry, this was never suppose to happen. it-" I got caught off.
"Cisco, this isn't your fault, none of this is your fault." (Y/n) speaks.
"I appreciate the sympathy but what happened to (F/n) and the injured people that were there that night, are now in the hospital because of what my team and I created."
"And experiments don't always work on the first try."
"This is different (Y/n), people's lives were at stake, college experiments don't even compare to this!"
"As you've once taught us, it's a matter of trial and error. (F/n) would have said the same thing!"
I hear the sorrow in her voice and I stayed quiet. Guilt continues to eat my consciousness. (Y/n) goes to hold (F/n)'s bandaged hand, as their fingers touch, (F/n)'s body shakes!
"AH!" (Y/n) quickly retracts their hand.
"Woah, what the fuck was that?!"
(Y/n) and I take a step back, we look at each other, both our eyes-widen, hoping that we both saw the body jerk as the monitor's pace quickens and a second later, a flatline...
"Cisco...Cisco? Did (F/n) just die..." Tears start to flow from (Y/n)'s eyes in horror. "I think...I just killed (F/n)?"
Too stunned to speak, I can only feel my mind fill with shock and questions. That can't be a real thing right? How is it possible for a body to flinch outta nowhere? (Y/n) couldn't possibly have killed our dear friend (F/n)? Could it just been a coincidence? It's not like (Y/n) electrocuted (F/n)? (Y/n) isn't a wizard! Unless...
~3rd P.O.V.~
As Cisco is stuck in a train of thought, (Y/n) begins to sob, their mind is stuck in denial. Wide Eyes, (Y/n) starts to tremble in horror, looking at their hand and to their now deceased friend. The obvious was clear, (F/n)'s life ended with a touch of a finger. As if time had slowed down, (Y/n)'s breath starts to pick up, through the sobs breathing becomes difficult to do on its own. A voided feeling surges from the bottom of (Y/n)'s stomach, then coursing throughout her body and mind.
"(F/n)?... (F/n), wake up...You're awake right? heh...please (F/n) wake up!"
Heat rises from her face, swiping the flowing tears then the tip of their nose. The heat sensation doesn't stop from flowing through their face. (Y/n)'s chest hurts from the empty feeling, causing them to clutch it.
Cisco snaps out of his trance as he feels heat arising.
"(Y/n)! Your scars! You're glowing?"
Taking a look at the arm scars in front, a dim light shines through the outlines of the scars. A scared (Y/n) quickly looks at Cisco for help.
"What's going on with me?" (Y/n) calls out in confusion.
"Uhh..first thing's first. we need you to relax!"
"How can I possibly calm down?! Why am I glowing?" (Y/n) gasps. "Am I going to explode?!"
"We don't know that! Panicking won't help! I need you to trust me and breathe with me, okay?"
(Y/n) nods. Cisco manages to slow down (Y/n)'s breathing, signaling a calm state. In result, the heat sensation dies down and the light dims out. (Y/n) wraps their arms around themself for some sort of comfort, still unable to believe what was going on with their body. (Y/n) mumbles to themself.
"I'm a monster."
Cisco goes to call a doctor as soon as the glow fades. Within seconds the room is flooded and a nurse quickly takes the two visitors out. Once stepping outside in the hall, the nurse asks to wait outside.
For what felt like a lifetime, replaying the freakish moment in mind, Cisco comforts (Y/n) in their state of shock. More questions fills their mind, was it bad timing with (F/n)'s body? Or was it something else? The door opens as the doctor steps out to approach them.
"Doctor?" (Y/n) give the doctor a hopeful look. The doctor shakes his head.
"We did what we could, we couldn't make it in time, I'm... I'm sorry for your loss." With that he gives the two youngsters space and walks off to the next emergency. Cisco's tears stream down his face and hugs (Y/n).
"(F/n)'s gone, Arghh why!" (Y/n) cries out, knowing very well that a headache will end up pounding later.
Cisco lets a few soft sobs out, feeling worse than a month ago since the incident. Remembering that night, not only hurting those people and sending them to the hospital but also losing a member of his team. Cisco sniffs as he continues to comfort his sobbing friend, hoping to help at least one of them.
"Don't worry...We'll get through this." He reassures.
