I know it's been a while, but I finally have the newest chapter.
Enjoy!
Sam's life seems to be going amazingly well for her after she finds out that her dad and Angela are dating. School is easy, she gets a boyfriend of her own, and he even writes a song for her. Then, Angela tells her she wants to use the song for her next campaign which the teen happily agrees with until she finds out her boyfriend Chad is kissing another girl. Lashing out at Angela, angry at her for still using the song Chad writes for her campaign, Sam angrily claims that Angela likes her campaign more than her. Feeling awful, Angela and Tony talk over the teen's outburst both knowing it will blow over. A couple nights later, the family stands around listening to Ray Charles play the song. When he is through, Angela tells the singer that she will be unable to use the song since it is painful to Samantha. When Charles asks why, Sam explains that it is about someone she cares a lot about. Beginning to explain Sam's breakup with her boyfriend, Angela is surprised when Sam interjects.
"'No, Anglea. Not him. You'," Sam begins. Tears in her eyes, the teen officially apologizes to a woman she considers a friend. Immediately hugging Sam, Angela states, "'It's okay, it's okay. It's okay. I know you didn't really mean it.'"
"'I was just so mad at Chad'," Sam explains. Wiping the tears away, Angela tells he that she knows. Telling her to use the song, Sam is only a little surprised when Angela tells her she can go without it. Noticing a friendly verbal competition, Tony cuts them off telling Angela to use the song. Once Ray Charles leaves, Sam waits for the right moment to speak to Angela. Entering the kitchen where her dad and Angela sit at the table, Sam asks her him if she can speak to Angela alone. Watching her father leave, Sam takes his seat before apologizing once again for her outburst.
"Oh, Sweetheart, I hated doing that to you. You need to know that," Angela begins. "There was nothing I could do in the moment."
"I do, now," Sam answers. "I just got so caught up in everything going on that I didn't see how it would affect you or the company."
Taking the teen's hand in hers, Angela thanks the girl for being so kind and brave adding, "You're growing up to be a remarkable young woman, Sam. I couldn't be prouder of you."
"Really?" The teen asks enjoying the praise. Nodding, Angela parrots, "Really. Now, go to bed. You've got an exam tomorrow."
"Yes, Mom," Sam teases before heading up to bed. It is not quite the answer she expects, but even a sarcastic 'Mom' makes Angela smile just a little bit.
The rest of the year passes for the most part uneventfully until Mona joins her brother in a hotel venture. Moving, Mona suggests Tony take her apartment above the garage to have more privacy. Knowing that means that he and Angela can have privacy, Tony agrees. He and Angela do enjoy their time together, even during his house warming party, but Angela finally asks him to move back into the house after (insert time frame from the show).
Once Mona moves back the household falls back into their normal routine, albeit with Tony and Angela flirting and talk just a little bit more than usual. A fact that does not go unnoticed by Sam who hopes her dad and Angela will decide to take the relationship public sooner rather than later.
Walking in the door one night Sam is ecstatic when she hears Angela say, "'I'm just a little nervous about tonight. You know, we've never done anything like this before.'"
"'Well look, if sparks fly, that's terrific. But if they don't, at least we gave romance a chance, huh?'" Tony asks barely registering his mother in law and daughter in the room.
"'You two crazy kids',' Sam begins, "'I just want you to know you have my approval.'"
Both she and Mona have wanted the couple to take their relationship public for a few months and are a little upset when they find out Tony and Angela are talking about a blind date between his friend and her cousin. When the couple get engaged, Tony and Angela are ecstatic. When a comment Angela makes to her cousin on the wedding day causes the wedding to not take place, she immediately goes with Tony to help sort out the mishap. A few weeks later, Angela and Tony stand up again as Matron of Honor and Best Man wondering again if they made the right choice getting married first instead of dating.
"I sometimes wonder if we should have done our relationship the normal way'," Tony remarks to Angela that night as they sit in the living room sipping wine. Taking her husband's hand, Angela answers, "I don't think so. I think we did what was right for our relationship. Tony, you do know I love you, right?"
Kissing his wife, Tony answers, "I love you too."
The next few weeks become busy for the household as school starts back. With homework and actual work the family barely sees each other except at dinner. A meal Tony insists they all eat together. Within the first two weeks of the school year, Angela gets a call from Jonathan's school asking about moving her son to Middle School. Eagerly, Angela lets her son go. What she fails to realize is how much her son will be teased.
When Jonathan gets a friend who happens to not be exactly who Angela expects to hang around with. Her point is proved when she gets a call from the school about Jonathan terrorizing the school.
"'Um, could could you be a little more specific?'" Angela asks. When the principal reads out Jonathan's infractions from snapping bras to mooning a gym teacher, Angela is floored her son would do any of this. When the principal starts telling her that she may be the cause, Tony immediately jumps to defend her explaining how great a mother Angela is adding, "'In fact, if I were to have a kid right now, I'd want her to be the mother.'"
A little surprised at such a public announcement, the couple begin to remark on each other's parental ability when the principal makes them sit down again explaining that Angela may be putting too much pressure on Jonathan. Talking in the car on the way home, Angela asks, "Have I really been that hard on him? Have I ruined him?"
"You haven't ruined him, Angela. He's just growing up. Remember how I was with Sam? It's hard letting go."
"Got any advice?"
"Go with your gut," Tony answers before taking Angela's hand to show her he supports her. Once they get home, Angela and Tony sit Jonathan down to explain how things will change when Jonathan's friend stops by in normal clothes to tell him good-bye. Sad his friend is going to Military School, Jonathan shuts the door as Tony tries to cheer him up. Asking his mom if he can go back to sixth grade, Jonathan is surprised when his mom tells him to choose. Surprised there are no strings attached, Jonathan heads upstairs to clean up the mess he made of his room with his prank projects.
After dinner, Tony finishes cleaning up the kitchen to see Angela sitting in the living room.
"'What a day'," Angela announces not anticipating any of the things that have happened. Agreeing with her, Tony looks up to find Jonathan at the foot of the stairs. Surprised to see her son awake, Angela asks him what he is doing. Telling her he expects her to tell him to stay in middle school, Angela explains that she is taking a step back to let him grow up. Absorbing the information, Jonathan decides to stay in middle school. As they watch the boy head back upstairs, Tony immediately compliments his wife on how she handled the situation. Then, telling her he meant every word of what he said to her in the principal's office, Angela stunned when instead of kissing her or complimenting her Tony snaps her bra. Quick to react, Angela immediately runs up the stairs after her husband who hides in his room. Smirking, she lets him think he wins before getting ready for bed. Knocking on his bedroom door ten minutes later, Angela smiles at the payback. Opening his door, Tony is surprised to find Angela standing in front of him. Shutting the door behind her, Tony is doubly surprised when he finds what is not underneath her robe.
