Sam and Jonathan continue to hear rumors for only a few more days before the gossip dies back down and in its place is talk about the town races the next weekend. Already on top of the town news, Tony signs himself and Angela up for the three-legged race. On the day of the races, Tony gets everything loaded in the car including the kids before coming back inside to see if Mona and Angela are ready. Seeing Angela standing there eating a plate of pasta, Tony asks her if she has seen the loaf of bread he was going to take for their picnic.

"'I'm carbing up'," Angela announces as if that excuses the fact that she ate his bread. Admitting that she is slightly intimidated to be on a race with a professional athlete, Angela admits that her legs may not be the best match with his. Telling her she has great legs, Tony tells his wife they can practice their race skill as they walk out the door.

Getting to the park where all the festivities are taking place, Tony watches Jonathan and Samantha head off toward their friends before he, Angela, and Mona find a good spot to set up their picnic area. When it is time for the race to start, Tony helps Angela off the ground before they giddily get in their places.

"You ready, Angela?" Tony asks trying to get her in the mindset to win. Answering that she is, the couple races well until Angela notices her sock falling down. Bending down to fix her sock just as they are within ten feet of the finish line, Angela is surprised to find herself practically dragged along by her competetive husband. Stumbling to keep up with the new motions, the blonde trips into Tony causing him to yell in pain. Unfortunately for the Bower-Micelli household, the day is finished with a trip to the doctor.

Entering the house hours later with Tony on crutches with a sprained ankle, Angela profusely apologizes while Tony complains about Angela fixing her sock.

"'It was bunchy'," Angela defends.

"'That's okay, Dad. You'll win next year," Sam comforts her dad before heading upstairs to change. Following not far behind her, Jonathan jokes, "'If you dump my mom.'"

Dismissing the comment until later, the couple soon discuss dinner where Tony insists he'll make veal parmesan. Deciding to help out of guilt, Angela is dismayed to find that she knocks him over again in the kitchen. After another trip to the doctor, Angela again apologizes for hurting her husband as he wheels into the house with his wheelchair and two broken legs.

Guilty at being the cause of his accident, Angela insists she take care of him since he will not let her hire anyone. The first day does not go easily. Angela goes to the market and comes back to find Tony rolling inside the house covered in water. Explaining the sprinklers came on, Angela decides to tell him excitedly about her produce purchases. In the kitchen, Angela shows her husband her purchases only for him to complain about each one. She understands the peaches and tomatoes not being good enough, but is annoyed how he complains like a child about buying corn flakes without the dehydrated fruit. Sitting down, Angela asks, "'Tony, just out of curiosity, did I do anything right?'"

Annoyed when her husband tells her that she basically is doing everything wrong, Angela counts to ten once Tony leaves before calling Mona. Asking how the office is, Angela listens to her mother's report before Mona asks how Tony is.

"'He's nitpicky, insensitive, and impossible to please'," Angela complains. Once off the phone with her mother, the blonde decides to make the best out of the situation. Going into the living room, Angela begins fluffing and rearranging the pillows telling Tony she wants them to take the day as a fun day. Then, she admonishes her husband for doing too much. Taking the laundry basket, Angela immediately notices she picks up Tony's underwear to fold. Not too excited to fold the underwear, Angela begins halfheartedly folding as she remarks, "'You know, this is the first weekday we've been alone in the house together.'"

Continuing just to add to the conversation and realizing her husband is not paying attention, Angela asks with a false sincerity, "'It's uh, it's kind of nice, huh?'"

When Tony obviously shows he was oblivious to her comment, Angela questions with tight lips, "'Did I do something wrong?'"

Upset over the fact that her husband will not accept any help and criticizes her for everything, Angela tells him that he is an ingrate before storming out of the house. Hiring someone to take care of him, Angela heads to the agency to check on it. Finding a party, Angela decides to ignore it until later before asking her mother some advice.

"'Tony and I had an awful fight, I hired a practical nurse to look after him, and I still feel terrible.'"

Explaining that it is hard for Tony to accept help, Mona continues, "'Now you go back home and help him.'"

"'He acts as though he doesn't even need me.'"

"'He does'," Mona tells her before asking her daughter to leave so she can get back to her party.

Back at home, Tony meets the new nurse, Doreen, and is shocked at how inept she is.

Calling his wife's name when she enters the house, Tony states, "'I'm so happy to see you!'"

"'You are?'" Angela asks surprised after their fight that he is talking to her.

"'Yeah'," He states before apologizing for the produce.

"'And I'm sorry I'm such an underachiever in underwear'," Angela answers glad for the fight have ended where it did. When Tony starts to speak again, Angela continues to apologize until she sees a young blonde woman come in the livingroom from the kitchen. Realizing the woman is the nurse she hired, Angela introduces herself and Doreen immediately thanks Angela explaining how much of a dream Tony is to work for.

"'A dream, yes. That's our Tony'," Angela answers practically staring daggers at her husband. Realizing Tony is treating Doreen the exact opposite of her, Angela is further upset when Doreen tells him his spongebath is at five. Practically glaring at her husband she backs aways as he asks for her help.

"'Seems you have all the help you need with her'," Angela remarks as she walks toward the pillows on the couch.

"'I don't want her, I want you!'" Tony insists.

"'You do?'" Angela asks as she sits on the arm of the couch as Tony explains everything Doreen does wrong. Laughing at her husband, Angela goes in to tell Doreen she can leave but not before the couple encourages the nurse to continue working and that she will find something else. Once Doreen leaves, Angela turns to her husband after she shuts the door stating, "I think we need to establish some ground rules."

Knowing she is right, Tony answers, "Alright."

The couple spends the next hour figuring out how to make their time together go smoother each trying to compromise. Then, Tony asks what she wants for dinner. Shrugging, Angela answers, "Oh, nothing fancy. Spaghetti? Lasagna? Why don't I help you?"

"Actually, Angela, I was wondering if you could set me up in your office to sleep? I don't feel like scooting up those stairs again."

Nodding, Angela tells him she will set him up on the sofa in her office adding, "Did you need me to give you a sponge bath too?"

Smiling, Tony answers, "I wouldn't say no."

A week later, Angela is in the kitchen finishing making Tony a sandwich when he comes in from cleaning the living room. Showing him she got the correct produces from the market, Angela watches happily as her husband approves of her choices before handing Tony his sandwich. Over the last week, the couple has been trying to adhere to the other's wishes that are outlined in the list they made up. Tony tells her to follow him into the living room. Taking the sandwich from his wife, Tony lets her wheel him into the other room and is happy with how happy she is that he rearranged the pillows how she had them before.

"You know, Tony?" Angela begins that night during a commercial during Murder She Wrote, "I think this week has been good for us. I think it's made us really grow as a couple."

Taking his wife's hand, Tony answers, "I think so, too. We really got to learn about the other one."

"And ourselves," Angela adds explaining, "We really compliment each other well."

"Makes me extra glad I married you," Tony admits before leaning over to kiss his wife. Coming downstairs just as the adults kiss, Jonathan rolls his eyes stating, "Get a room!"

Breaking apart, Angela looks at Tony before asking Jonathan to come sit with them. Shaking his head, the eleven year old answers, "I'm good."

"Now, Jonathan. You're mom and I want to talk to you about a comment you made when I broke my leg."

Confused, Jonathan does as he is told before asking what he said.

"It's about you saying if I dumped your mom," Tony remarks as Angela asks, "Are you still not okay with us being together."

Jonathan simply stares at the couple a moment before looking at his hands. Putting the television on mute, Tony adds, "We're not mad at you, Bud. We're just wondering what you're thinking."

After another moment, Jonathan explains, "It's not that I don't want you two to be together. I do. It's just weird seeing you two so gross together."

With a small laugh, Angela remarks, "You're going to feel this way about someone one day too."

"Yeah, but you're my mom. And, I don't know," Jonathan shrugs. Angela nods looking at Tony to silently ask not to push the issue.

When Angela goes to bed later that night, she is surprised to hear a knock on her bedroom door. Telling the person to come in, Angela is surprised to find her son at the door.

"Are you okay, Sweetheart?" She asks. Nodding, Jonathan tells her, "I wanted to talk to you about Tony."

Curious, Angela sits on her bed motioning for her son to sit beside her. She waits for him to start. Finally, Jonathan begins, "I really like Tony. He's basically like my dad, but I just want to make sure you like him."

"Oh, Sweetheart. I do. I promise."

"Good. Um, you guys aren't going to fight like you and Dad are you?"

Angela's stomach practically drops at her son's admission. She has no idea how much her and Michael's relationship may have affected him.

"Oh, Jonathan. Sweetheart. I can't promise you that Tony and I won't fight, but I do promise you that I will try my hardest to make sure mine and Tony's relationship won't be like mine and your father's."

Nodding, Jonathan answers, "Okay."

Watching her son head to the door, Angela calls out just before he turns the handle, "I love you, Jonathan."

"I love you too, Mom."

The day Tony gets his casts off, Tony and Angela make sure the kids are occupied before they leave.

"Bye Dad!" Sam tells him as he and Angela leave the house.

"Bye, Sam! Be nice to you're- to Jonathan," Tony answers hoping his daughter does not realize he almost calls Jonathan her brother. Smiling her partially fake smile, Sam answers, "I will."

Tony and Angela are gone for all of an hour when Jonathan comes down stairs asking if she will hang out with him. Pointing to her homework, Sam answers, "Kind of busy."

"Do you care if I watch TV? I think Danger Mouse is on."

"Danger Mouse?" Sam asks, her eyebrows raised. "Aren't you a little old for that?"

Not wanting to prove Sam right, Jonathan decides to go upstairs instead. Just as he makes it to the stairs, the phone rings. When Sam answers, she immediately starts talking to Marci allowing Jonathan to grab the remote and turn on the television.

"You're such a dweeb! Can't you see I'm on the phone?" Sam asks. Rolling his eyes, Jonathan answers, "Go in the kitchen."

With a huff, Sam does what Jonathan suggests. An hour later, Sam comes back in the room telling Jonathan she wants the living room back. Rolling his eyes, Jonathan answers, "Yeah. I got better stuff to do anyway."

Heading to Mona's Jonathan decides to watch her TV. Getting hungry half an hour later and knowing his grandma has no food in her apartment, Jonathan goes into the kitchen to look for a snack. Finding an apple, he takes a bite before heading into the living room before asking about Tony getting his cast off. Just as Sam has to listen to the eleven year old theoretically cut Tony's leg off, Angela walks through the door with a new and improved Tony behind her.
