And the first chapter. Hope you like it and I would be very happy to get some more readers for my stories. :)
Please don't be shy and share your thoughts with me. I am not biting you ;)

And I hope the translation is okay.
This story is a pain in the a** to translate; I can tell ya!

I am glad that you liked the Prologe :D
The fun for these two begins soon :D
And I still wonder how this started, that Venom loves these two chickens so much.
And that he can still eat the others ugh. I love chickens myself and thus I don't eat them. I just can't.
Same goes for turkeys and ducks too...and geese...well, the same goes for ALL birds XD.
And yes, Woody Harrelson is so perfect for the role as Cletus Kasady. You should check out Zombieland. He was so great in there :D
They really should have put a Twinkie Joke into Venom 2. I would have died laughing, I swear XD.
And I really, really hope he will return in future Venom movies, because Cletus Kasady simply can't die XD
Thank you :3. I really wanted to get Dan involved in this story, for IF I read some Venom fics, then I don't see him often in those stories.

As always: I would appreciate feedback in the form of a comment very much.
Not only is feedback very motivating, but it also shows me that my story gets read and is not ignored.
If I get the feeling my story gets ignored, I won't update it, for I see no reason to do so then.
So please don't be shy and share your thoughts with me. I won't bite you. I am open for ideas, but
can't promise you to write them. I would only try to add them, if I like them and if they fit into the story.

Chapter 1

The next few days seemed to fly by really fast and Eddie actually managed to get a week off from work. Since he hardly ever got sick and always did everything that was asked of him and wrote good articles, his boss even offered him a few extra days if he needed them. He should just call him and the matter would be settled.

But Eddie only stayed with this one week. He had never vacationed at the countryside before, as he only knew life in the big city. So it was completely new territory for him. And not only for him, but also for his extraterrestrial friend who, like him, had only gotten to know life in the hustle and bustle of a big city like San Francisco.

Sure, they'd driven out of San Francisco here and there, but mostly just for a short time. He couldn't compare that to what they were planning now and for which Eddie was packing his things, because the journey was supposed to start tomorrow.

Anne wanted to drop by that evening and give them the keys to the house, since Dan had had to help out at the hospital again and couldn't manage it himself. Besides, he still didn't seem very comfortable when he was alone with Eddie and Venom...

"Well, I think we've got everything packed. Or rather, I've got it all packed, because I don't think you've been wearing clothes lately," Eddie remarked with a grin at his not-so-normal friend, who was sticking out of his shoulder like a big alien-snake and floated right next to him and helping him pack the last of his clothes into the suitcase that was lying on Eddie's bed.

"Not really, because I'm not like you humans when it comes to walking around the world naked."

The words were followed by a wide grin from Venom and an eye roll from Eddie, who grumbled and closed the suitcase and zipped it up.

"I don't say anything about that, V."

"Which is also better for you. You won't be able to counter anyway."

"Of course I would be able to. But today I don't feel like it."

"What a stupid excuse."

"Stop with the teasing and tell me what else I have to get for you. Unlike here, I can't just go to the nearest supermarket at the countryside and get you meat or your beloved chocolate. We need a supply for the days we live at Dan's country house."

"Let's go to Mrs. C. Surely she still has a box full of chocolate left over. Or maybe two of them?

Another big grin and Eddie just shook his head in resignation.

"No wonder I'm broke all the time. Because of you eating machine, I can't save any money to go on a reasonable vacation."

"Now you're exaggerating it, Eddie. Mrs. C always gives us a special discount on the chocolate, because we protect her and you know it too. Last time we even got them for free."

Yes, and Eddie still shuddered when he thought back to how they got free chocolate that day. And all because that idiot had to come into the supermarket with his gun at that exact moment...

"Well, in my opinion, it was perfect timing."

"You think it's always perfect timing when we run into an asshole somewhere."

"I can only agree with that."

"I'm really giving up on you..."

"But I'm not giving up on you and now come on. Hurry up a little. Anne will be here in less than two hours and if we want to do some shopping before then, we'd better go now."

"Yeah, yeah, mom. Can I at least put some fresh clothes on?"

"If it won't take long, then yes."

Eddie rolled his eyes for what felt like the hundredth time that day, while Venom just chuckled...

Only fifteen minutes later, Eddie was standing in Mrs. Chen's small supermarket. With a basket in his hand, he slowly strolled through the aisles of shelves, gathering up the things he needed. Even if he didn't really know what he actually had to buy.

Venom peaked curiously out of the collar of his hoodie and made sure that his human friend didn't forget his beloved chocolate. He loved chocolate. Not only because of the phenethylamine it contained, which he needed to survive, but also because of the taste. Thanks to Eddie, he had already been able to try so many different varieties and he especially remembered the delicious varieties, which unfortunately were only available at Christmas time and he was already looking forward to the time when he could enjoy this chocolate again.

A low grumbling snapped him out of his sweet daydreams and he turned his full attention back to Eddie, who was still walking aimlessly through the small supermarket and seemed more and more desperate.

"I have no idea what to buy. Any ideas, V?"

"I don't have a clue about it any more than you do."

"Ouch, very sensitive..."

"Sorry, Eddie."

"It's okay."

"Maybe we should ask Mrs. C? Surely she can help us?"

"I don't know..." Eddie murmured and Venom noticed that he suddenly looked a bit embarrassed and if he had been anatomically able to do so, he would have rolled his eyes at that very moment. Eddie was just too proud to show the slightest weakness. Even when it came to making a simple purchase.

But the Klyntar wasn't in the mood for his human friend's stubbornness today, so he took control over his body without further ado, grinning to himself when Eddie let out a soft "Hey!", which he simply ignored and, against his will, led him to the counter, behind which the Chinese woman was standing and eyeing them both curiously.

"Now ask her!" Venom growled softly and satisfied he noticed the slight shuddering of his host's body, which his dark voice triggered in him.

The reporter was already opening his mouth to reply, but Mrs. Chen forestalled him by looking at him amusedly and asking him, if she could be of any help or if he wanted to keep wandering aimlessly through the supermarket, what caused Eddie's cheeks to turn red and which made Venom laugh.

He ended up walking out of the store with three fully packed shopping bags and one of them was just for Venom, as it was almost overflowing with chocolate of all kinds and variations.

The second bag was full of canned food, which Mrs. Chen had recommended him, just in case he couldn't cook fresh every day. The third and last bag was full of fruit and vegetables, which stayed fresh for a few days. There were also a few bottles with water and a six-pack of beer, which Eddie put, together with his bags, in the car, which he had to borrow from Dan, because he couldn't really pack all these things on his motorbike.

When the two friends returned home, Eddie was amazed when he glanced at the clock and was shocked to see that it was already late in the evening.

Anne would be right over to bring him the key and then the day would be over. Time has really flown by lately. At least when he did things that he enjoyed and even if he wouldn't necessarily admit it out loud, but he had enjoyed today. A lot even. All the preparations for the upcoming vacation week had been a lot of fun for him and not only that. He noticed himself how calmer he was and that he didn't waste a single thought on this crazy serial killer anymore.

Out of the corner of his eye he could see Venom, grinning to himself and Eddie only rolled his eyes slightly, but a small smile appeared on his lips as well.

The Klyntar also seemed a lot calmer than usual. And not only that. He was more relaxed, didn't bug Eddie all day about eating any people they met and he didn't bother him with any other things either. No. He had even helped him pack up the things he needed at the supermarket together with Mrs. Chen.

With every day that passed, he seemed to become a little more human.

If he would even call this "human".

Of course, Venom seemed anything but human, but in terms of speech and behavior, he became more and more like them...

A knock on his door snapped him out of his daydreams and when he opened it, his ex-girlfriend's smiling face greeted him.

A wave of excitement went through his body, clearly coming from his symbiote, who was always happy like a little human child when Anne visited them both.

And only Anne!

Apparently he wasn't a fan of Dan at all and Eddie could well imagine that Venom had wished to eat Dan more than once when they were alone with him.

How good that he always managed to tame the monster inside of him...

But today there was not the slightest trace of this monster to be seen.

On the contrary...

As soon as the apartment door closed, hiding him from the prying eyes of the neighbors, Venom came out and greeted Anne just as boisterously as a puppy would have, which only made Eddie roll his eyes again, albeit quite amused, as he was watching Anne and how she was trying to gently push the clingy alien away from her, so she could take off her jacket first.

"Calm down, man," Eddie said, laughing as he decided to intervene and with a sharp tug, managed to pull Venom away from Anne, who grumbled softly but didn't struggle further, as he seemed to realize that he had reacted a bit too over-excited. But he couldn't help it. He liked Anne as much as Eddie liked her. But he decided to calm down a bit and instead of "attacking" Anne again, he preferred to wrap himself around Eddie's shoulders and watching what was happening with a curious twinkle in his eyes. Which got even stronger when Anne pulled something out of her pocket and held it out to him.

"Just a little gift for you, Venom," she said as she held out the bar of chocolate to him with a wink. The Klyntar's eyes were now sparkling like those of a small child again, as he carefully took the chocolate from Anne's hand with a thin tendril and immediately began chewing on it, after freeing it from the wrapper. With a low, comforting purr, he expressed his thanks, before he devoted himself entirely to the chocolate and ignored the two humans.

"Wow, you really are the only person who manages to shut him up for a moment," Eddie remarked with a slight grin, as he took Anne's jacket and hung it in his small coat rack by his door, before he hugged her in greeting.

"You're welcome," the young lawyer replied with a mischievous wink.

"Would you like some coffee?"

"That's kind of you, Eddie, but I can't stay long. I have a case report to finish tonight. I just wanted to drop you the keys and this."

She held out an envelope to the reporter, who eyed it curiously, as he took it from her.

"What is that?"

"The results of your medical examination."

"And what came out of it? You know I don't understand Dan's doctor's jargon."

"You're all right."

"I've been saying that over and over again, but does anyone here listen to me? No, of course not..." Venom grumbled quietly from Eddie's shoulder before he bit another piece of chocolate out of the bar and let it melt on his tongue with relish.

"You know that Dan still doesn't trust you."

A growl was the only response Eddie got.

"And that's exactly why he doesn't trust you."

"I don't care. As long as you trust me, everything is fine," he purred, and he purposely pressed himself against Eddie's cheek; like a damn giant interstellar cat!

Anne watched the whole thing with a playful eye roll of her own, as she handed Eddie the keys to the house along with a list of things they should watch out for when they were there.

The first things on the list, what a surprise, were the chickens.

Eddie wasn't very fond of them. Venom, on the other hand, seemed curious and couldn't wait to meet them, since he had never seen chickens before.

"There really isn't much to do. Just make sure the coop is clean and the chickens always have fresh food and water, as the neighbor won't be around these days."

"What? I thought she would take care of the chickens?"

"She does, but Dan called her yesterday and told her that she doesn't have to go to the chickens for the week since you two are "babysitting" them."

The teasing grin didn't escape Eddie and he had to restrain himself not to growl himself and inwardly he cursed Dan for this decision, because that was pure intention!

"Now don't be so grumpy. I'm still there too and the two of us can do this together."

"That's the right attitude. You should learn from your symbiote."

"Okay, okay, fine. I give up. You two win. I will do it. I mean, I don't have any other choice anyway..."

"And you'll have fun doing it. Doctor's orders!"

Grumbling, he ran both hands over his face, as he sighed in resignation.

Why had he only given his approval for this trip?
