I already told you that in a PM, but I will do this here too, for you are the only person who is reading this.
Thank you so, so much for that and also for showing me your sincere interest in my writing with your lovely comments :)
I appreciate this very, very much :D I wish more people who do this. They should take you as an example!
To answer your comment:
I think so too. I think V can't help it. It's in his nature as an apex predator.
I am sure Cletus will return in future movies. Carnage also died in the comics, but came back over and over again XD.
And apparently, V doesn't hate Dan anymore, when you look at the end scene in Venom 2. I think these two get along better now :3
Haha yeah, Eddie better be careful. Just imagine V would drink an energy drink. I already feel sorry for Eddie XD
And I love chocolate too (that's why I am so fat XD). I just can't help it. It says chocolate makes a human happy. Indeed it does XD.
Anne just knows best how to tame Venom XD.
As always: I would appreciate feedback in the form of a comment very much.
Not only is feedback very motivating, but it also shows me that my story gets read and is not ignored.
If I get the feeling my story gets ignored, I won't update it, for I see no reason to do so then.
So please don't be shy and share your thoughts with me. I won't bite you.
Chapter 2
Anne stayed for half an hour and explained everything to Eddie.
"And if there should be any problems, call me or Dan. You've saved our numbers in your phone, right?"
"Yes, I have. If anything happens, I'll get in touch with you."
"Good, then I wish you both a lot of fun and get in touch with us, when you have arrived."
After that, she left and Venom and Eddie were alone again.
But instead of spending the rest of the evening in front of the TV and relaxing, Eddie had shortly afterwards sat down at his laptop again and was working on one of his articles about Cletus Kasady.
Something Venom didn't approve of, because he wanted to spend time with his human friend. Well, he was spending every second of his time with him in one way or the other, but this? This was pure boredom and he also noticed how Eddie's stress level increased again, the longer he wrote this article. Besides, he didn't want to deal with that insane idiot from prison again, because just the thought of him made Eddie's heart rate skyrocket and his body released one stress hormone after another. And Venom didn't want that. No! He didn't want that at all. He wanted his host to be comfortable, to be happy and relaxed, but the only way he could be like that, was if he could finally get his hands off that laptop and take his mind off that idiot. But the way it looked, he would again spend the whole evening working until his eyes got heavy and the next morning he would wake up, completely exhausted and in a mood to match.
So there was only one thing to do: Get him off that damn laptop and get his mind off of those things before it would be too late.
But how was he supposed to do that?
Eddie seemed mesmerized by his own article, which he was typing like a soulless robot. Word after word appeared on the bright screen and with each new word typed in, his stress level increased a tiny bit more.
That wasn't good. Not good at all!
Venom had to act now if he didn't want his friend to have another sleepless night, worrying about this deranged serial killer and what else he could write about him. In addition, it was his week off from work and he shouldn't waste his vacation with further work, even if he wanted to do some preparatory work. There would be no such thing this week; Venom would make sure about that. And he decided to intervene now, since it was quite late and they were going to bed soon. But first, Eddie had to get away from his laptop, so Venom decided to use his secret weapon on him immediately.
He manifested himself out of Eddie's shoulder into his serpent form and slowly got closer and closer to him.
"Eddie~," he said in his most whiny voice.
His human friend didn't respond to him, just kept typing words into his laptop, ignoring him and Venom almost growled, but stopped himself at the last moment and came even closer. So close, that his face almost touched Eddie's, who still didn't take any notice of him.
"Eddieeeee~."
A slightly annoyed grumbling escaped Eddie's throat. But there was nothing more. His fingers continued to fly over the keyboard of his laptop and Venom was starting to get really annoyed that his human ignored him.
"Eddiiiieeeee~," he purred in his ear, much louder this time and to make it perfect, he rubbed his face against Eddie's cheek and finally got a reaction from his human. Though not the one he had hoped for, for the journalist grumbled again and raised his hand and pressed it against the side of his head, trying to push him away.
Venom smirked, as he was utterly amused as Eddie tried to push him away and failed miserably at that, for he just wasn't strong enough and Venom could sense he wasn't trying hard enough on purpose. Something Eddie would never admit out loud, because his pride just seemed too big for something like that. Venom knew that his friend enjoyed these playful moments as much as he did and so he just kept going, nudging his shoulder or cheek with his head and repeating his name over and over again and his voice became more and more plaintive. Until it became too much for Eddie and finally his fingers let go of his laptop and all his attention was on Venom, who was grinning like a Cheshire cat, since he had once again won this little duel between them.
"What is it, you nuisance? Can't you see I'm working right now?"
"Oh yeah, I can clearly see this, but you know what? Enough work for today. Oh, what am I talking about? Enough work for the rest of the week! You're on vacation, Eddie. You don't want to waste that with your article, do you?"
"Oh, come on, V. It's not much anymore. Let me do some preliminary work."
"No!"
"Why not? We have a week's vacation starting tomorrow. At least let me finish this one article tonight and then..."
"Eddie, just look at yourself. This crazy guy is stressing you so much that you can hardly sleep at night and even during the day your thoughts are almost exclusively with him. If you keep doing this, you will destroy yourself. It's really enough with your article. Come on. Stop working on it. You can do that next week when we come back home."
"It's not much anymore, V..." Eddie murmured, but he knew that he didn't stand a chance against Venom. He had to watch almost helplessly, as a small tendril came out of his wrist, which saved the document and then cheekily switched off the laptop, so that he couldn't even think about continuing to work on his article.
"Okay, okay, you won, you little nuisance..." he said and let out a chuckle, as Venom nudged his back over and over again, until he finally got up and shuffled to his sofa, where he flopped backwards and into the pillows.
Only now did he seem to notice how exhausted he actually was. He was so exhausted that he just let Venom do the work for him. His eyes closed briefly and he felt his extraterrestrial friend pull his shoes off his feet. He hadn't even noticed that he was still in his street clothes. Or that his back was already hurting, because he had been sitting in front of his laptop for so long. Or that his stomach was rumbling, because he had even forgotten to eat...
A startled squeak escaped his throat, as Venom threw something onto his chest and when he opened his eyes, he saw his sleeping clothes lying on top of him.
"How about you change into something more comfortable and then order us something nice to eat? Then the two of us have a cozy evening in front of the TV, before we leave tomorrow. Well, how does that sound?
Even if Eddie had wanted to, he could never have said no to that, because this plan just sounded too tempting. And Venom was a master of persuasion, which this slimy bastard knew all too well, because he just grinned broadly, when Eddie closed his eyes again and could only utter a soft "All right..." as two tentacles began to massage his shoulders…
An hour later, two large boxes of pizza lay on Eddie's living room table and the journalist was just about to put a DVD into his player.
"What kind of movie is that?" the Klyntar wanted to know curiously, sticking out of Eddie's right shoulder like a giant snake and examining the DVD case from all sides.
The young man grinned, as he turned around and sat back on the sofa, then pressed play on his remote.
"A movie with mean Aliens. You will definitely like this one."
Venom looked at him and then at the TV skeptically, but he decided to just go for it, because after all it had been his idea to end the rest of the evening in front of the TV and in the end, he didn't care at all for what movie they were watching, as long as his human friend was fine and not wasting his thoughts on that maniac serial killer. So he didn't say anything, just grabbed another slice of his pizza and fixed his eyes intently on the TV.
Eddie had chosen the movie "Cloverfield". A found footage horror movie. Something Venom didn't know and Eddie couldn't stop grinning, as Venom couldn't stop pestering him with questions, apparently believing the movie was real. That's why he loved found footage movies so much. You always had the impression that these were real experiences that those people had filmed and even he had to admit that this was one of the most authentic alien horror movies he knew. Even if the camera work was pretty bad in some scenes. But that was intentional.
"We've never seen such a weird looking creature before, Eddie. What is that? Where is it from? Why is it so huge?"
"Oh man, V. You're killing me. It's just a movie. None of this is real," the reporter laughed.
"But it does look so real? And they film it themselves, don't they? So it has to be real."
"It's all just computer effects. The aliens are not real. But it looks damn real, I have to agree with you. That's why I love these movies so much."
There was a brief silence between the two friends, which was only broken by the sound of the TV, as in the movie some soldiers were firing machine guns and rockets at the huge and loudly roaring monster that was destroying the city.
"Is this how you humans imagine Aliens?"
"Some do. There are many different variants of it. We haven't even seen all the alien movies out there. But I like this one the best. Even if the camerawork sometimes makes you nauseous."
"Well, I think you could have filmed that better than them."
"For real?"
"Sure."
A wide grin suddenly spread across Venom's face, as he remembered something.
"Hey, Eddie?"
"Hm?"
"How about we make a movie like this ourselves?"
"What?"
"You understood me."
"A horror movie? Oh please. All you have to do is look into the mirror..."
A low, menacing growl answered him and a tentacle pocked him not very gently into the ribs.
"Watch what you say, Eddie. Otherwise I'll eat you!"
"Oh, of course you would do that."
"Don't challenge me, or this was the shortest alien horror movie of your life!"
"Oh yeah, I'm getting sooooo scared now~."
Now Eddie had to grin too and provocatively he took his smartphone off the table, switched on the camera app, pressed play and pointed it at his extraterrestrial friend, who was still growling softly at him.
"You know, if I'm supposed to make a movie like this, then this one starts right in the middle, because there's no previous story about you."
"You should have filmed everything from the start when we met. Like those guys on TV."
"Oh, sorry that I didn't do that, V, but I've been too busy trying not to piss my pants in front of you."
The grin was instantly back on Venom's face and he got so close to his human's face that Eddie had to resist the urge to back away from him.
"Am I that scary?"
"You were scary. Now you're just one hell of a pain in the ass."
"Be careful what you say…"
"Or what? Will the big, bad alien parasite eat me then?"
And it was at that moment, that Eddie knew he had gone too far when he saw Venom narrow his eyes at him. A small tendril, that had unnoticed manifested itself from Eddie's leg, clicked pause on the DVD remote control. The film stopped and stillness descended on the small apartment, broken only by Venom's growling, as he manifested himself from his serpent form into his humanoid form, not very gently pushing his host onto the sofa and grabbing his wrists, which he pressed onto the armrest next to his head. Another small tendril grabbed the phone and pointed it at his face to film him.
"To answer your question: Yes!"
The reporter couldn't even protest, when his shirt was ripped off his stomach and a too-high-pitched squeak came from his mouth, as Venom buried his face into his now bare belly, growling and gently nibbling his skin with his teeth or cheekily tickling him with his tongue or blowing ticklish raspberries into his skin.
And all the while, Eddie squirmed and laughed and squealed under the mean tickle attack and at the same time trying to hide his face in the crook of his arm, while he swore one thing to himself in that very moment:
He would try to keep his big mouth in check from now on...
Author's note:
Me and my best friend had this idea, how cool it would have been if the first Venom movie woud have been filmed as a found footage version. Would have make this all even creepier in our eyes. That is how this chapter was born and I can tell you: Venom will be having a lot of fun with this idea too, much to Eddie's chagrin XD.
