Argh..Please, just change the channel or else I'll puke here..What's with these stupid not so interesting films, lately?

Vincent just kept on snapping the button onto the remote control as he changed every channel while taking a whole mouthing onto his giant subway sandwich. Turkey and avocado and spicy ranch sauce as he lounged onto the couch and with his feet onto the table and stared up at the TV.

There he was alone on his own with the TV after his buddy J.T. called to say he was gonna be late with work that held him to the university. Yup. He swallowed up a big piece of his sandwich as he kept on switching the chanels as he groaned. Nothing better with the Yankees as his favorite team kept on failing up. Oh Boy. Horrifying romantic movies along the way. Soap operas that were probably never ending. Yuck..Boring horror movies that would probably end up into a B movies section.

Very low movies section..Burgh..

Not to mention these uncalled Scary Movies saga thing. Stupid and sketchy films like these in order to make more profit, along and again and again. Argh..Many years ago, he wouldn't have minded if he had been forced to watch these goddamn and awful sketches with his ex-fiancee Alex and without having the feeling to puke out his stomatch. However, it wasn't quite much possible anymore. Mostly and every night, he'll have to spent every night alone and trapped up into a warehouse, in order to not be caught by anyone else. And yet, he felt trapped, didn't mattered if he lived with J.T.. He still felt alone and with no one else to communicate other than his best friend. Ever since he had come back from war, he had known he had changed and for the worst. And not to mention what had occurred over there at the field. And where he ended up escapping the authorities from getting killed while others soldiers ended up perished and burned up dead because whom they have had become and because of these experiments. They had died because of it. They died because they volunteered themselves to these experiments whom were supposed to kept them protected. Which they did not. But much damage. Men and women of honor had died. Not by severing their country but they were shut down from orders that had been ordered from high people, and because they had gotten out of control.

It made him become the monster he'd always feared to be. So much that he couldn't even look up to the mirror anymore. So ashamed of himself. Something uncontrolling was growning up inside of him and yet no antidote could fix a problem that had no solution. At all. Vincent took a risk but falsing up his death to the states and to everyone who had known him, his own family and fiancee. Which had hurted him to do so. So that nobody would start to look up for him. Not even his own ennemies had known where he lived, unless they didn't bought up his selfless act by dying in service in Afghanistan.

But only J.T. had known that he'd been alive after a very longtime and came up with a plan once he had told him the truth about the events in Afghanistan, and decided far away from every living city and kept themselves locked up into an abandonned warehouse, for almost a year now. Not quite the living house he had pictured, but it was better than to be haunted by organisation called Murfield, at least. He was now at some quiet place and yet, he felt like it was about to suffocate him alive. He had a huge TV with boring chanels. Video games. Good food even if they were junk food and alcohol that he couldn't take because of his beast's own dangerous nature. Doing a couple pushups and heavy exercise like he had done this morning. Or more like every morning and and every night.

And not to mention, he often took a walk outside, at the very late of the night. Around midnight even. Not like he was afraid to turn onto a pumpkin or into a mouse. He wasn't. But many danger sensations had often come out night and even before midnight. If he had to be an guardian angel to an stranger whose might be in danger, Vincent would gladly take it for once. At least, doing some good as long he stood hiding into the dark.

"Argh..Damn.."He growled up in disgust as he changed up the channel and to which had ended up to be an paranormal and teen-drama show called Roswell. To his own horror and disgust. It was a show about an half human guy who turned out to be an alien had saved a woman while an sudden attack had penetrated into the restaurant she worked. She got saved with his own power as blood onto her chest disappeared and made her heart start beating up again..And from that moment, they had never let go from each other, it somehow did ripped Vincent's heart out. He just felt it in it as it was pounding heavily like it just wanted to burst out of his ribcage. Saddened, but also angrily. He had known, he needed to let Alex go and let her mourn her loss over him, so that she could move on. Along with the rest of his family. Damn. His mom might never be the same anymore and might not able to go through another loss after losing a husband and two sons. So imagine with a third son also being dead..He shut his eyes tight at that thought. Love. What useless thing to wish for and yet also tempting.

He needed love. He wanted to love and to be loved once back again. Vincent had known it was impossible with his new life into hiding and with J.T. protecting him from exposure. But he had the right to be a dreamer, no?

However, if Vincent wanted someone else into his life, she'll have to accept him for who he is today. Beast or human, it wouldn't matter as long she could love them both. As if any woman would be able to love him without any disgust and even to look up to his scarred face even.

Damn. Keller get a life. He opened up his eyes and sighed back to the coming scene he had gotten bored up with.

Vincent shook his head as he took a large sip from his soda and made a grimace when he saw the two main characters kissing each other as they shared their very first kiss. Romantic thingy. Which made him want to throw up. Oh God. Get a room..He switched up the chanel once again until he noticed the hour through the TV. He gulped hard at the sight of it when his eyes went of clock and two hours before J.T. could come back from home. Oh God. He hadn't noticed that even he wasted time by making a mess with food onto the couch and by watching some garbage on TV, time had certainly had gone so fast.

Two hours. Man and before J.T. could come back from work. And he needed to be quick. He dropped his half eaten sandwich and soda onto the table and brought his legs back down onto the floor and stood up from the couch as he swipped the food crumbs out of his pants. And noticed how his grey shirt had been left onto a mess. Juicy mess. Thanks to the sandwich and to the porn watching he caught himself watching by accident and switched up fast until he ended up into the sport section. With relief. He left the TV open with the same sound just in case his friend would show up fast and dragged himself away onto his room to change clothes, get a shower and probably be on his way out of the building.

...

"Come on, Cat! Stop flirting up with the costumer and help me up a bit, here!"

"Thought, you were taking care of everything here?"

"That was before I've found you giggling over the football guys over at table seven!" The young woman with the nickname Cat bursted out into a laugh back up through the air and over her curious side which made a few guys and mostly the famous table seven where a few college kids, mostly the football guys were also laughing up along with her. She was just doing her job by serving up beer and other alcholic liquors, like every night at the very busy bar. The Salty Dawg Saloon. She'd been working to pay off her university fees and for her law studies and hoping to get her own degree before stepping up to the Bar. Hopefully to become successful like her father. And even if both of her parents paid her studies, Cat had also wanted to do her own share.

"Hurry up, Cat!"

"Okay, boss!"She called up back to the dark blond haired woman who picked up the empty beer pitch and walked back away as the dark haired woman turned her head back to the boys with a sneaky smile as she liked to please any men here. Not like she was interested in any."Call me up, if you need anything else.." She bounced back away from the table and walked up to the busy bar where the other bartender was struggling over there to fulfill another round two other beers while she tried not to drop the pitch from her hold as Cat went up behind to help her up.

It was quite a busy night. Tonight at the bar and many women and mostly men went up at this very late to have fun and drink up their emotions and sorrows. Not like it wasn't right any way. It was such an odd job for a nineteen year old woman like Cat. Smart and beautiful women like her shouldn't be working up here. A very cute dark haired woman like her who had braids and circle earings boucing up and whore a simple pink t-shirt and blue jeans that made her look a total innocent and sexy teenager, it was a total temptation to many men who had an uncontrolling and undealt hormones here. Loud enough that you could not even hear yourself talk.

"Damn it! Watch it, Cat!" The dark haired woman tried to drag out two other pitches from down from the bar counter as she accidentely pushed the other woman with the curly blond hair and into dark clothes. An accident, but who was counting it?

"Sorry. You're too stressed.."

"Stressed? Looks whose talking! If you weren't gossiping up with the seniors over there, we wouldn't be into this mess!" Stress and always stress when a number of people kept on coming in and shouting up. Cat was as much stressed as the other bartender was. She pursed up her lips as she tried to fillfil the pitches and kept on running back and fourth.

"Calm down, Lila!" As always, the other cute bartender Lila was the one who had stress over onto her shoulders as if she had to deal with all problems around the place. It was already eleven thirty and the world didn't seemed like it had stopped at all. The bar was filling up without any stopping. The play billards pools were full up with bears and ciggarettes and heavily drinkings shots as like for vodka and tequila shots everywhere. All tables were filled and includding the bar as men demanded to have had their drinks ready. It was just another night for the bar as Cat witnessed through her work time here along with a very stressed Lila here.

"You hang up with the pitches here, I'll go fillfil up the others at the tables and billards!" She set up two fill up pitches of beer onto the table by one shaky hand and with the other as well. Four of them were ready to get served up and to Lila's delight as the blond haired woman sighed up into relief as she turned her head back to see her partner taking control over the other side of the bar.

"Sure thing..And don't let me catch you up with flirting up with the cutest guy here, okay?" She managed to lift up a smirk onto her features as she peaked up to see Cat taking a rounding tray and got two bottles of beers from the down fridge.

"Haha! Sure thing!" And she moved out of the bar counter as she managed to fill up all other costumers's orders while Lila dragged out the filled up pitches to the other section and onto the bar. Taking orders, bringing up drinks and bottles to everybody and by making up the smile she could get if she wanted to have a good tip and even if she was the best at it. She still felt like she needed to do more and be the best she could be as ever.

If it was what it took for a professional lawyer to be, than so be it. Her father had told her that she had what took to become a great lawyer, true. But it always took more than words to make it come true. It needs some determination and some very hard work in order to come up and achieve up the dreams you always wanted to purse. If it meants to have a great career like being a lawyer. Books would be waiting for her as long would be for a couple of sleepless nights to come.

Which her mother had gotten worried about. She was worried that her eldest daughter wouldn't get much sleep if it meant to sleep in class at back in the morning..Cat hoped to go away after her shift is done and that Lila would close up at last, and before three o clock of the morning.

"There you go guys. Have fun!" She gave another group of old men their drinks before she moved away and fast. She winced back up as she wipped off the sweat of her brow. No. She didn't planned to finish off her days as a wasted bartender or to become a doctor like her mother. Both of them looked hard to live up with. With her mom always held up at the hospital for late shifts, while her father kept their two daughters at home and with Heather who was still in high school and had gone through a little tiny rebellion thing in order for their mother to show up and make her care about her other members of the family, it did made Cat feel a little guilty in a way. Sometimes, she often wondered if her mom had an affair which had held her up late to the hospital's late shifts.

Don't be ridiculous, Cat..She cursed herself over that stupid thought. She was old enough to understand that her mother had hard shifts to fill up for other colleagues, but it didn't meant that Vanessa Chandler had an affair. Nope. Heather would just need to grow up a bit. That's all. School and rebellion were a part of being a teenager and knowing their mother well enough, she would be in no position to do that..Or whatsoever. Just three hours, Cat. You can still do it..

She was lost up into her thoughts as she walked away from another table when she heard the door open up and whirled around to see who else had stepped inside, and felt her heart skipping up a bit and in all of sudden. Her long braids slapped down onto her shoulders as much as her heart was beating. Much like it was beating for a secret crush that she didn't know until now.

A tall and shouldered broad man with a dark and with short uncut hair which locks fell down in front of his eyes went in the club. He wore an dark and old used coat that covered up his dark shirt and dark old-fashioned jeans with his used up boots. Almost like an homeless man, but quite an attractive one to look at. He didn't had any bad smell even. The man looked around the place as if he had tried to memorized the last time he had been up here into a bar. From how he looked like it seemed to be to an very intriguing Cat who followed his movements as if she watched him closely.

He had a very long and thin scar to his left side of his face that was covering up one of his dimples. And Cat could swear that if she managed to make him crack up a smile to his face, he would look even ten times better and more happier. But not everybody had a chance to live up a good life and sometimes, they even become bad despite the help they've been giving to. And yet, her heart was beating up like mad here. Like it was on fire. Get a grip Cat. You've meet and dated other guys before. This one wouldn't be better even! If it was true, then how come she hadn't moved away, already?

Cat blinked up twice twice as she watched the man moving away and pull over a chair as he sat down in front of the rounding table. He wringgled up his fingers together as he looked up around, still as if he looked lost here which made her took a decision here. Cat turned around to look up at the bar counter where Lila was finally managing on calming down and worked up at her best now and on her own as the rush had finally decided to quiet down here which made her smile as old buggers had finally decided to leave the bar. Lila didn't needed another problem, so Cat decided to take matters to her own hands and it was by making up a step.

Closer to the mysterious guy's table whose stare was looking back at the wall next to him. As if he was examining it.

"Hey there.." Cat managed to crack up a little comforting smile as she spoke out loud enough to the man and for the very same one when he swung back his attention to her, startled up a little bit coming out from his hazel eyes. He had strong features and great dimples as a long scarred scar was traced onto his left side of his face. A short stubble was slowly covering up his hard jaw and these lips.. And that long hair God. That man. Cat felt like that gorgeous man came out from the fantasy and romantic historical books she have had read as a teen back at school.

"Sorry. I didn't meant to startle you, but you looked like you were a bit lost in a way when you came here.."She explained back as she waved her hand up to him with the other held her tray with a nervous but gulity smile onto a corner of her face. Cat waited for him to answer as if it was for a longtime until he snapped out of his thoughts and rubbed his eyes as Cat took as a sign of an early fatigue thing. Poor guy.

"Sorry."He managed to croake up in a answer and ran back his fingers to comb down his hair from behind. He had a deep voice through loud crowd here which made her shoulders shiver."It's just been a while since I've been into a bar. Brings a lot of memories, you know?" So long? How long?

"Been a heavy drinker?"

"Nope. Nothing like that."He sighed out as he shook up his head."It's just the work. Sometimes I felt like I've almost forgot how to be surrounded by other people.." Work? That dude had must been doing long and boring shifts or so. Doctor or a cop? Cat couldn't point out a answer for that.

"Like pushing away a drink when friends can offer you one?"

"In a way..But also used to be the designed driver who brings the drunkies back home as well.."Ahh. A responsible one here. Cat nodded back in understatement.

"Oh. Okay. I get that feeling a lot over here. As you can see, you are surrounded by drunken people here.." She followed up with a silly teasing up joke as it made him chuckle. A nervous but soft chuckle coming out from his chest and from what Cat expected to be a very hard and sculptured chest as she took a secret peak down to his midsection which was hidden by his shirt and coat. She shook her head as the long braids went around fast by changing up the subject before he realized or thought that she might be a pervert.Don't be a pervert, Cat!

"Anyways. What can I get you? What's your poison?"

"Usually, I'm onto bourbon, but since I've stopped drinking from a longtime ago and because of work. Might be just a soft drink. Coke." Okay. The guy was playing nice here.

"Alright. You watch your hangovers very clear unlike some other kids over here. That's good."She felt her smile reaching up to her face when she saw him cracking up another chuckle once again. Great. She was being a funny girl here. A funny girl with long braids and glossy lip gloss onto her lips and he found her funny. Hopefully not too dumb to think about one. Damn it. Cat. When was the last time you've dated a guy? A very longtime ago. Yeah.

"I'll be right back.."

...

"So, how's it going here? Not too stress up?" Cat hurried back by countering up the from bar while an very much relaxed blond haired woman poured and fixed another drink to another costumer, feeling a little ashamed for having lashing out at the dark haired woman here who pulled open the refrigerator's door open.

"It's getting quiet. Thank God. Thought I was about to lash out here.."Lila looked back at her friend who took out a Coke can and plunked up open."Sorry. If I lashed out, at you, Cat..It's the stress.."She apolegized back up through the loud music and scoring billards tables from the left side of the bar. But Cat just shook her head by making up a weird face.

"Nah. It's okay.."She poured up the liquid drink down onto a glass of ice cold cubes and put up a tiny perfection to it. A piece of lemon onto the hanging corner of the cold drink and went back down to get a bag of chocolate bretzels. And under the dark blond haired woman's suspicious green eye.

"Um. Cat, what are you doing?"

"Getting a bag of chocolate bretzels out and pour them onto a bowl.."Duh. What else it looked like?

"I can see that, but why?" Lila had questionned back when Cat rose up back to her height and shrugged off her shoulders as she kept doing her magic."A guy decided to stay sober.."

"You're kidding!" The blond haired woman sounded interested and astounished through her voice tone.

"I'm not.."She defended herself as she ripped the bag open and threw the bretzels onto the bowl. "The guy is at the last table and nearly close up to the exit. Looks a bit lonely here.."She mentionned back without looking at the man sitting all alone over and near the exit doors. Not to mention a little bit depressed.

"Creepy.." She could feel the bartender looking back up the looney sitting man over there with a face sign of disgust. Better not judge strangers before you get to know them first. Not too much, but just enough to sense if they were good or not.

"Don't call him, 'Creepy'. He's not that bad. He looks nice.."Cat had defended the mysterious guy over the other bartender.

"You think that all bad guys deserve a second chance.." Who said he was a bad guy? Cat wasn't so sure about that point. "I may do..But only for those who are willing to take it when it's coming to them.." She put the bowl onto the tray along with the drink, looking confident about her own work.

"Yeah, right..But who's paying for the bretzels? What am I gonna tell Bridget when she'll found out that someone took her bretzels?" Lila had followed back with a little shivering sound that came out of her mouth when she pronounced another woman's name almost as if it was gonna kill her in a way. But not for Cat. Cause she didn't looked impressed by it. In fact, she did liked a new challenge for once into her very balanced life. Better embrace it before it slips out from your hands, soon or later.

"You worry too much! Let me handle it!"

"Cat!" But the dark haired woman hadn't listened to anything else as she took her tray bounced away from the bar by walking up to the table where the mysterious man sat and to his surprise she brought a little too much to think of an simple drink. But Cat felt like she was doing him a nice thing, at least to make him disappear his melancoly and for maybe, one night only..

No, one night stands if it that meant the real answer to her own heartbeat.

"What's this?" She felt him stare at her when put the drink and the bowl of chocolate bretzels onto his table and rose back away.

"That is a bowl of chocolate bretzels, and don't tell the other bartender gal." Cat looked away for a moment and turned back to him, with her raised palm to cover up her mouth to the left corner of her face as she whispered back to him. And hopefully if she could hear him through the crowd by bending her back to him." The one with the long black pitched up haired girl and nasty eye over and far away from your back..And don't look back either.."She added up back when she caught him turning around but held himself to his own seat with a perplexed stare. Which it almost made her laugh. He looked so cute and condfused at the same time. And attracting even. Yes. Attractive. I have to admit. And even better whenever he smiled. He wasn't disgusting to look at.

"Why, she gives you the creeps?" The man looked confused back at her which she nodded back at his question.

"Gothic even..Think herself as Lucifer's girlfriend..She's a little scary.." She winced back as a face hurting matter as he whistled back."A couple of costumers don't like her as much, either. She scares them enough to make them fly away.."

"Geez.."He gulped back as he leaned back his spine to his chair, feeling a little unsure here as she shrugged off her shoulders as if that matter didn't bothered her. Which it somehow did. From deep down into her stomatch. Not Bridget, but this man made her feel many chasing butterflies deep down into her stomach.

"So, imagine if she hears that I've ended up stealing up her bretzels.." She rose herself back up as she stepped back from his table and kept the tray between her hands and right in front of herself for an armor.

"Oh Boy.."

"But I'm pretty sure, she'll get over it if I play pretty nice tonight.." She looked back away from behind as the billard table where a group of young adults looked up for help. Cat turned back to him with a cheesy smile before she turned back away."Enjoy it. Gotta go now.."

"But I don't have enough to pay for the bretzels-"He just couldn't accept her gratitude without exchanging something back to make up like amends to her which she declined his offer with a wave.

"They're on the house. Don't worry.." She released up a soft chuckle here to his floored expression."I'm Cat, by the way.." She had introduced herself back before she had a chance to leave.

"Vincent.."He managed to crack up as a dumb answer and as if he had no idea of whatever spell she had got him into. Cause he did looked like a little baffled and lost kitten here. He still looked handsome here, according to Cat.

"See you soon, Vincent.."

...

"You were pretty lucky to have had called me up, or else your dad would have killed you for forgetting to get this thing fix up. Again.."A figure with a female voice went through the standing hook of Cat's car as she looked through in by trying to bring a little touch to the unworking up wires. And in the middle of the night.

"Sorry to make you go and drag up here with me..I had no idea that the engine would have given up on me.." Standing up outside into the cold was at least the very least of the expections that Cat had thought would end up at the very end of her night shift at the bar.

"I think you may need to get a few charging wires here, but thankfully, I had just come back home when you called me up.."

"Thanks again. Mom, and sorry to make you go and drag up all the way up here.."Cat nervously chuckled back up as she shivered up through the cold air from an very late September."Weird, this is getting very cold already.." Damn. Cold enough.

"I think we better bring up the car to the garage by tomorrow morning. I think Fred had an appointement that a costumer had called up to cancel. Maybe, if I can give him a call and get him to pick up your car, he'll could have it fix it by supper.."The woman with longish dark hair and tiny glasses and who still was wearing up her blue scrubs from coming back from the hospital along with a brown coat, in the dark that was trying to fix up the car had been Cat's mother. Vanessa Chandler. Who had come up to her own daughter's rescue when Cat couldn't get her car's engine into working.

"Thanks again, Mom. That would be great.."

"So, it was a great night? You didn't get into trouble, tonight? I don't know how you deal up with it.."

"I made lots of tips, for sure. And enough to spend the rest of the night studying with books.." It was an hell of a living evening until the bar had closed its doors after costumers had left the building which left the three girls cleaning up for the mess being left by drunkies. Cat, Lila and Bridget managed to get a few things fixed and mostly after the floor was mopped of, Bridget had left the bar with her lowering share of tips along with her purse without saying a 'Goodbye' to the other girls. Cat and Lila were the last to get the best of the shares after 'Miss The Devil' had left up the stage and they've cleaned up the rest of the bar on their own.

And later right after the dark blond haired left off with an lame excuse, Cat decided she was probably the last to close the bar and ended up with her car which decided to not collaborate with her, tonight. So, she only had to do something that made her felt, a little embarrassed to do. Call. Mom.

"Becoming a lawyer just like your dad.." Her mother's voice had awakened her up from her thoughts as she shook up her head.

"Yup. And for the rest of the night-"

"Rest of the night? Come on, Cat..You need some sleep-"

"I'm okay, mom. I get enough sleep.."

"Yup. When you're not getting caught by a little bird that I've seen growning up along with you..." Vanessa rose up an eyebrow at her direction which Cat had no clue iof whatever her mother was referring about.."A little bird named Waverly, your cousin had spotted you, yawning up inside of of the library with five books and chewing loudly an egg sandwich and coffee for lunch, two days before.." At that sentence, Cat was left off into shock as much as she let her jaw drop with wide eyes open.

"That sneaky bitch-" It was all could say at the imposter who managed to gossip up right back up from her back to her mom who had come up to stop her from saying anything else bad as a horrifying curse word.

"No need for swearing, Cat.."Vanessa dropped down the tools she used and whirled around by folding up her arms against her chest with a sneaky smile onto her face through the dark."Waverly is maybe sneaky, but she is your older cousin who also happens to work her traineeship and ass off at the same hospital that I work, but is also your aunt Claire's daughter. So, imagine what I'm going through whenever I hear her babbling up about her driving you up down-"

"Can I just call her a bitch?" She spit out loud too much for her mother's own effort at not trying to laugh but to which she had done. Damn. if only she could stood up against her so-perfect cousin Waverly, Cat wouldn't feel any shame right back. Waverly may work hard enough as an ER resident at the very same hospital as her mother, but didn't have the same patience whenever Cat had to go through with any costumers at the bar with whom she tried to serve and to make them pleasure in a good way. And to keep her head onto her shoulders. Even if she felt like exploding or more like she wanted to rip off her bitch of cousin's head!

Which Cat would do with pleasure. No wonder any everyone called her Cat. Even if they say that curiousity often kills a cat, it always waited for the good moment to jump down onto his prey. Yup. A cat could do that as well.

"Yes. You may.."Her mother snorted back up into laughter and went back into seriousness with a pointed up finger."But it stays between us, right? No bad words about your cousin whenever your aunt and I are having tea, alright?"

"Alright."

"I mean it. You need to get laid. A break even. Come back home, I don't know. Get a boyfriend-"Always the worried mother as Vanessa had been to be when Cat shook up her head.

"No thanks..I'm good without any.." Cat had always managed to put up her studies first just like her parents wanted her to focus. There's gonna be many boys coming up along the way, but she wasn't interested in any. Well, expect for the mysterious guy Vincent, at the table right near to the exit. The one with the cold Coke drink and bretzels. Cat felt like he needed them more than an very cold hearted bitch named Bridget would need them. And for a weird and strange thing, Bridget hadn't rudely asked up for where her bretzels had gone to. The guy needed something to eat or more like he looked depraved of something unexplained. And like he had said, he hadn't enough to pay the food, but had left up a good tip onto the table and while she was caught up doing and refiling re-rounds, Cat had noticed him giving her a small waving hand off and left the place right after that. With a smile. Which made him more irresistable that made her heart skip a beat. Cat just smiled at this lovely and dreamy moment.

It made her feel all sweet inside of herself as much as her heart was racing up fast like butterflies, when she had first and last seen him here. Even, if she had put a barrier against boyfriends, at the moment. But it didn't certainly stopped her to think about one. A man whom she would probably never see ever again. Damn. Vincent. He did left an important mark here.

"Okay. It's a good thing you've stopped me in a second or else I could have said something more stupid than that.." Her mother sighed back in relief and turned around to close up the car's hood back down."I get worried and later on I show up when you call up.."

"It doesn't matter..."Cat talked right back with a smile as she felt any frustration wearing off of her features. She gave a glance to her mother who whirled back around with a smile when she added this back up."You always come around whenever I need ." And always.

Suddenly a car's engine was heard as it pulled up right in front of the bar's parking lot. Which had caught off the two women's curious stares right to the car. Cat wondered what they doing at this very late of night since the bar had closed up its doors at three o clock of the morning. It was strange as much as the headlights were flashing up back at them. It was weird.

"What are these guys doing?" Cat wondered back up to her mom's ear and called up back to the dark figure inside of the car. Probably the unknown driver."Hey, we're closed!"

But no answer had come out. Just the headlights that kept on flashing to their faces which was about to blind them. It was strange.

"Hello? We're closed!" Cat called back up to the silent driver into the car. He looked a pretty tough guy as two other figures were into the car as well from what she could observe.

"We're good here!" Her mother followed up back with a wave by showning to whomever was inside of the car that they were handling the thing well enough. However, it had changed Vanessa's mood when she caught whomever was inside had decided to come out of the car. She watched the guy pushing up door without stopping the engine and slamed it right back fast and from the way his hand was reaching up inside of his pocket. It meant bad news to Vanessa who was now onto alert mood as she brought up a arm to protect Cat by putting her up behind her.

"Mom?" Cat had asked up when she meet her mother's worried stare and shaking elbow to her coat as she almost been pushed away.

"Get my car.." But Cat didn't quite understood whatever the hell was going on as she felt her mother pushing her away and shouting her to move by grabbing her own car."Get my car..Get my car! Now-"

But it was too late for Vanessa to act and push Cat away as extracting bullets went through her mother's coat multiple times as a shocked and petrified Cat watched her body fall down onto the ground from the flying and shocking bullets. Too petrified to even act up at the scene. Cat couldn't say anything else but to whimper and bend over her mom's lifeless's body, still shocked.

Oh God. Someone killed mom. Someone had killed her mom! Someone cold hearted did just-

Bang!

Cat shrieked out by shock as another unexpected bullet just fleed over her head taking her by surprise and as she managed to push up onto her feet and ran off away from the parking lot. Ran away into the woods with fear clutchering up to her racing heart. Blindly through the dark, Cat ran through the dark forest as fast as her legs could lead her up. Breathing heavily with fear. But just ran. Run away Cat or else these guys might as well finish up the rest of their killing. With no witnesses being around so they could flee away into the dark.

She still felt them running back and after her, as fast as she kept running they would also too. But Cat just kept on running as she did much as much as she ran up until her foot got caught up through a branch of tree. She fell back down to the ground as she scratched up her forehead by accident. She couldn't move so badly as much as her members were shaking and were unmoving when she turned around from her lying postion but when she had seen them. All three men raising up their gun to finish her up as they had done with her mother, she bursted up into tears feeling so lost and beg them to spare her. A kid. She was just a kid. What damage she could have done to them in order to deserve a such harsh punishement like this?

She had done nothing wrong. Nothing at all. She was just a kid. Just a child who didn't asked for anything at all. Cat acted up like this because she was scared and by being harmless to them.

"Please..Please.."She begged them when she had seen their guns raising up to her shaking form as she laid there and begged them as she cried like a child. Tears were falling up onto her cheeks as fear had taken over herself. Please spare me..Please..Oh God. Cat watched the first standing man when he was about to pull off the trigger but when he was prepared to shoot her, something along had jumped onto the scene. With a growl. Or more like someone had jumped into the scene that scarred Catherine Chandler for life.

Her widened eyes would never be able to forget what she had seen as a hidden figure through the woods jumping into the darkness and had attacked and slaughtered up the shaken and fearless men into cold blood as it roared like an animal.

An animal?

How on earth it could have be? Still shocked up, Cat brought up her hand to her mouth as she sat up here and watched the hidden creature slaughtering up alive with its claws as it ripped off the men away as they yelled in horror when the monster they've gotten themselves with was killing them up without showning any mercy as the thing groaned or more roared up like an wild animal who didn't hold up anything back when the blood kept on splashing out whenever its claws went through their flesh right through and out. In horrifying and blinding up anger through the darkness. And it didn't specifically went up against her, at all. As if it wanted to protect her from them. In a unxplained way that she couldn't even explained to herself, Cat kept on watching the monster ripping off the bad men as if it wanted to protect her from them. But why? Because the men had killed her mother? And had tried to kill her as well? If so, then he would have done it, but didn't.

Once the bad men fell down onto the ground by being lifeless and with blood onto the dirty ground, Cat watched the thing turning up to her direction as she was thinking whatever it wanted to do with her but when she caught up his silent attirance staring down onto her her face. She didn't looked scared. Yes. She was petrified and struck up into fear from the events that went along but not the thing. Him. He is half man and half beast.

Cause that living thing or more like the hidden beast coming out from the shadows and from the forest, just stared down at her form like it waited for her to act up in self-defense. Which she hasn't as Cat kept on staring up at him. Her widened and shaken eyes never left his hardened and monstrious features. It looked so unreal. His eyes looked so different here.

His eyes. His eyes were almost unhuman and looked like it belonged to a monster. A beast. They glowed up through the darkness to which she was the only person to have them witnessed. Amber and angered eyes stared right back as he sneered up at her. And yet, Cat just stood there, doing nothing but to stare at them. Stare at him. He looked like a man. Still.

And he had saved her from getting killed. Which he hadn't come up to kill her but to save her from these bad men. She wasn't scared of him, at him. Just couldn't but was as shaken with the events. But not at him and from the way her heart was racing up, it wasn't by fear but only with astonishement. Cat tried to describe whomever he was through the darkness. He had a strange and familiar figure. It was weird. Somehow his height and hard strength were similiar to someone she thought had known but couldn't place up a name to it. To him. He looked familiar but she couldn't tell herself why?

The half man creature had continued to stare up at her in the most awkward but intense way for a strange minute. Probably thinking if he had to attack or devour her, but had second thoughts when he finally had decided to flee away from her sight with a roar. He left by leaving the poor strucked woman all alone into the woods as she was finally able to move and to stand up onto her feet on her own. She brought up her fingers to the tiny bleeding scratch and wondered that whatever she had seen, had looked true or not. No. Cat. You know what you have seen here. Your mind isn't playing tricks here. It did happen. A beast had come up here and had trully killed these men here. She was sure of it when she looked down onto the lifeless bodies that her savior had managed to rip and to kill them with no mercy. Who was gonna to believe her, now?

Despite, the shocking events that had occurred up and had changed her life forever. His own as well.

...

What have I done? What have I done? Vincent had thought back at the very next morning after he washed his face at the sink washroom as he gotten out from the shower. Which he had took for a second time in five hours, already. And yet, he still was shaking from the events from last night.

Bare chested and exposed up, Vincent looked up at the mirror as he released up a shaken breath out from his lungs and looked up strucked for a second. Looking strucked up by the events from last night. At the sudden realization of what mess had happened last night and to what he had done as well. Last night, he had acted by instinct. He felt that three men after someone he had known. . Dr.C, he once had called before and yet this woman hadn't survived to her wounds and especially when he felt three men coming up to her and against her. To finish her off for good as if they had wanted to silence her up from saying anything else that could threat them into exposure. Even if it meant to put him outside of the world with the mess that the army had done to him and with her getting her ass to jail for letting many soldiers getting killed because of her fault and coming up from the people she worked for.

And yet, there was another problem to it. He moaned back into this thought. It was this woman. Cat. This intelligent, beautiful, bright and funny woman. The very same one who had managed to make him crack up a smile, last night. He felt so many butterflies rushing up to his stomach when she had managed to make him smile and even steal her evil co-worker's bretzels to give him something to eat. Pretty much as if she had thought of him as a homeless man which he wasn't since he managed to pay off his drink but not as much for the bretzels. But like as she had said; they were on the house with a such playful smile.

"I'm Cat, by the way.."

"Vincent.." Oh Crap. Why the hell did he mentionned his name and out loud to the bar so that she could hear him? Maybe because, he wanted to feel normal for a change and how it felt to meet normal people once again after being trapped into an abandonned warehouse with J.T. She was such a beautiful woman. Crap. Creepy crap. What if J.T. had figured out where the hell he went last night? He'll have a heart attack! He had quite enough dealing up with his ulcers attacks and along with the classes he taught back and stayed doing long shifts at the university as a professor and biochomist researcher. J.T. did everything he could to put him at safe ease ever since he had come back from war. His best friend did everything he could and things might get even complicated if he figuted out the events from last night. But Catherine. She didn't needed to be killed, because she was just as innocent and was at the wrong place at the wrong time when Vanessa had shown up to help her out and what's worse in all this? It was that Cat was in fact 's daughter after he had heard her cried and called the dead woman. Mom.

Oh God. She was the doctor's daughter. He didn't make it up fast to save her but he managed to save her. The young woman. Save Cat. And yet, he exposed himself and his true self towards her. A stanger and by killing these men in cold blood as they were about to shoot and finish her up. Leaving no witnesses alive and to report anything else. However, Vincent had other opinions as his inner beast senses took control and made the unthinkable happening. Right in front of Cat's widened eyes when he went through the bad men's flesh and blood with his claws as the beast took over and had finished them in a gory second. But when he looked around and back up to the young woman here once he had finished on killing, he saw nothing but a woman who had stare back at him as she was stunned-no way more shocked. Not scared of him but from what had just happened and right through her eyes.

She wasn't scared of him. She wasn't.

"Hey buddy, good morning!"

Oh Damn it..Vincent had cursed back up when he grabbed up a towel and rinsed up his face when he heard the door getting pushed back onto his lock. Crap.

"Big Guy?"

"Yeah. I'm here.."

"Hope you're hungry cause I've picked up breakfast on my way up here. Sorry, I couldn't come up here last night. You know kids.."J.T.'s voice was heard from a far and with a chuckle when he stepped in."Dude, you've left the TV open.." J.T. was a tall but chubby and handsome man, into his mid thirties. Going almost bald with hair growning up to the corner of his jaw, he wore glasses and managed to shrug off his blue leathered jacket to reveal a purple sweeter and blue blouse from beneath it. But to Vincent, J.T. was the best friend and the most treasured one that any friend would want to have and to need. And yet, he felt bad for using him a bad excuse when it came to his other bad side.

"Oh that.."Vincent walked ahead out of the bathroom. With a new black shirt on, he stepped back into the living room where J.T. stood and dropped the bags and two large coffee cups onto the table. Probably from Penny's. A simple and quiet restaurant where both him and his brothers went there along with his buddy before they went all into work. And when it was also the day after when his older brother William had told to back off from being a firefighter after he almost risked his life to save his big brother and when Will told him that it would shatter their mother's heart if something reckless had happened to Vincent under his care. Even if Vincent defended himself that he saved his brother's ass and away from the blowing fire, William remained clear to his word.

"You want to save lives that's fine, but you're going back to med school. And that's final, little brother.." William had scolded him back a few months before the twin tours went off. It did somehow saved his life, but not his bad ego, anyways. Felt like he had failed something and important that it mattered to him. How bad he had missed his brothers and felt irresponsible from coming back from war after he volunteered himself into an organisation that may be go after him from now on. With theirs members being slashed to death by a beast. They would certainly go after him if they manage to find his fingerprints and might even seek revenge.

He failed on trying to protect himself and even worse, Vincent might even lose a friend like J.T. if he figured out what he had done, last night by bringing trouble to them. And to someone else as well. He closed up his eyes and rubbed his sweating forehead in frustration.

Until he had meet this woman, Cat, last night and had managed to save her. I had saved her. I saved her from getting killed. Not everything was bad. He felt bad for not being able to come up and saving her mother, but he did saved her.

And yet, she made him feel more powerful, even. More than a beast. But as a real human. Like he had a meaning to live for, finally. This woman made him want to want more of her. All of her. Not as a beast but as a man would crave for a woman. He felt once alive like he ever had before when everything he once had before was taken away from him. Until he managed to open up his eyes and realized that he hadn't in fact, lost anything else worth to him. His heart was beating up alive and only for her, from now on.

Hopefully, he'll come up and meet her once all this mess with Murfield would finally be over and to give himself a chance to explain, everything.

"Holy Crap.."J.T.'s stunned voice's tone had jerked him off his thoughts when he looked up down to his friend where he sat down onto the couch and clung up onto the remote control and going almost pale when he glanced up at the TV. And Vincent didn't need to know why he looked so strucked. Cause he already had known coming up from the reporter on TV. He avoided his attention away when the reporter's voice was heard loud enough. He shuted his eyes tight when he finally had heard it. The worse news.

"Turned out that two women were both attacked last night through three o clock of the morning. An asian middle aged woman through her fifties, ER resident from NY General Hospital, Vanessa Chandler had been shot and killed at the very first attack while another woman had managed to run away from her attackers. Which is in fact, nineteen year old bartender from the bar, The Salty Dawg Saloon and student from University Priceton, Catherine Chandler had managed to run away and escaped both of her attackers who were on the way to chase and kill her as well, last night. Chandler had also mentioned something else that sounded out of ordinary although. Even stated that she had been saved by a beast that came through from out of nowhere and slashed the three men to deah as she stated over and over that he had saved her life.."

Oh God. How could she had done that? To blown him off when he tried to so hard to not expose himself outside at the world. When he only wanted to take some fresh air, it ended up to have had become an ultimating disaster.

"I know what I've seen! I was saved by a beast!"The same female voice whom had served him last night and exclaimed out loud to the reporter who responsed back that forensic cops and the NYPD departement would probably take care over the invastigation and would indeed seek up onto the three dead men's identities and arccording to the medical examiner, it revealed that they were savadgly atracked as claws went right them and ripped them deeply. Hearts were thrown out as blood were splashed out to the ground. Which meant that not only an invastigation would be needed but also was about to seek fingerprints and DNA identification as well if it matched the three men to their killer. A monster or to an beast's own claws. But what kind of animal, would the cops seek out for? And who knows, to Vanessa Chandler's killer as well. Unless the bullets belonged to the three dead men. Oh God.. Vincent feared for the worst now.

"Cute girl. Isn't she? Big Guy?" Still adjusting up to his friend's reckless actions, J.T. tried to sound sarcastic even if he felt like he wanted tro run away from here as Vincent tried to explain.

"I can explain.." He opened up his eyes and turned his attention back to his friend, when the arguing had started to which made him wince when J.T. started to get angry, but also panicked even.

"Damn right, you need to explain!" The biochemist professor had turned off the TV and stood up to his feet. Angered and worried expressions were all over his features which made Vincent curse under his breath once he had seen him."I decided to stay over late at school by recorrecting test results and to find out that a guy who was supposed to act up dead was actually hanging around and slashed up three men that had tried to kill a kid?"

"What else could I have done? Leave her to get killed? I couldn't possibly let it go.."

"Not much if it meant to save your ass. No. I take back. Our asses.."J.T. added up back by pointing the young woman back from shut down TV."If this woman, manages to take you down. Both of us.."

"Besides, who would believe her?" But Vincent had already known the answer to this question. Cause he was sure that Catherine wouldn't suddenly back off away without a damn good reason. And even if she had been called crazy by people includding J.T.

Which she wasn't.

"The working people from the nuts's own world, maybe..But just to look up at her. Something would tell me that she wouldn't definitely never want to give up on searching on to find you-"

"I get it. Both of us. But that's not it. It's me."Vincent remarked back by pointing himself as he faced his friend. That he was in fact the problem in the very first place. "Me, J.T. that she would probably start to look on for.."

"You don't get it, Big Guy.." J.T. tried to fight back as Vincent defended himself.

"Oh, I get it.."

"I'm only saying that if Murfield finds out what had happened last night and outside at that parking lot from that bar. They'll be looking out for both of us. Her, even too.." His friend had added up back."It's gonna be everywhere into the news for a longtime.." But Vincent shook back his head as he was still denying this. Any of this.

"She's innocent. She has nothing to do with any of this.J.T." Vincent looked broken as he looked down at that thought. That maybe his own ennemies would probably go after her as well and even worse, than being his own woman being rescued from him. She was 's daughter as well. She may be in danger and that was because he only wanted to do something right. By saving her from these dark agents. Doing something that even if didn't looked normal but made him feel satisfied when he had slaughtered these men from killing an innocent woman like her. Cat. Catherine.

"We might have to move up again. Big Guy. We can't stay here, until we know for sure you'll be safe from them, once again.." Frowning, J.T. felt like talking down to a kid who only had tried to do the right thing here. Vincent felt like he had done the right thing by protecting that attractive woman and coming up from his own will. But it didn't anything better whenever it came to the other people who tried to protect him. Like J.T. tried to do as he sighed back in exhaustion.

"I know. J.T. I know."Vincent had followed back, defeated and frustrated by this matter of fact that they might even have to move out and because of his own faults.

"And you better stay away from her, if you really want her to be safe from them. From Murfield.." His friend had followed back up much as he walked away from the living room with his bag as he left the breakfast and coffee lunch onto the table as he mumblered back or the way it sounded, Vincent felt like J.T. was more talking up to himself here."I really can't believe that this is happening all over again, man.."

Vincent didn't liked the way things had procceed next because as much J.T. had admitted under his breath, they wouldn't have any other choices but to move out from here and up to another place so that Murfield wouldn't never find him. Them, mostly. And mostly that woman would proceedly go after him and realize that might won't be even worth it to after him. Since, he was legalized as a dead person and dead people don't walk around the haunted streets. He sighed up back in defeat as he collapsed down onto the couch. A tough and determinated woman like Catherine Chandler wouldn't ever give up onto finding the man who had saved her or mostly the beast as she had called up after he had saved her from these men whom had once killed her mother in cold blood.

And yet. She had exclaimed and very outloud that she had been saved by a beast. A man like him. J.T. was right. They had to move away from here and fast. But how, could he ever be strong enough to erase her from his mind? He just couldn't. Cause, Vincent was sure enough that a woman like Catherine Chandler wouldn't be so easy for him to forget and even through after nine years later, when they crossed paths once again after his fingerprints were found at some crime scene and to which the NYPD departement had been called and followed up the invastigation. And who was the lead detective into this case?

Catherine Chandler.

Only, he had remarked up back that she had grown up onto a fine and matured woman. Her beauty hadn't changed at all. She looked as beautiful as the first night he had laid eyes on her, at the bar. However, she was scarred up by the horrifying night as she had been seeking up for the murder of her mother and had got the chance to meet him up, after nine years on trying to search up for him. Until now. Vincent had figured out that nobody had believed her when she cried out that she had been saved by a wild man, stated it was just an result of her concussion and PTSD. But Chandler's daughter didn't seemed to be the kind of of woman would would proudly admit any defeat and Vincent was sure of it. When he felt her coming intio the warehouse onto her own by acting up smart, one day.

He still remembered on how wild determinated she had come up to be when she followed up the stairs from the new warehouse that he and J.T. shared and figured out who he was. It was either this, or else, he'll could get himself shot. So. He managed to come up to show her his own face which had stared back up at him, as if she had walked his path a longtime ago.

"You're him. Him.." She had replied back by when her breath had been taking away as she looked up deep into his own eyes and to when he remained silent as he looked back onto her own eyes. She had recognized him. The beast from the dark shadows and the very same one that had haunted her for many years.

Something amazing had happened when theirs eyes colided back up, and after from being away from each other for so damn long. And no matter even if he had already told her to back away for her safety since it was already too much dangerous for the both of them and after he had saved her for a second time after the so-called agents back up at the subway had tried to kill her, she stood up to him and confront him, even after he had shown up his real and monstrious face up to her frightened sight. She had stayed and covered up for him. And yet, she had come back to him, at that night when she had to show up at her father's engagement party. Looking so beautiful with that plum and short sleeveless dress with her dark long coat and the way her hair were loosenly curled and rolled down onto her slender shoulders, and from the way her eyes were smoking up with that eyematch and shadowed makekup. He was totally blown up away at the sight of her standing up onto his ground when he walked up to her height and to which he had heard her say.

"You're not a monster. I know alot of guys are out there but.." An attractive and determinated detective Catherine Chandler looked up to him as he looked back up at her, shydly. Her emerald eyes glowed with admiration and love. Love? Could it had been possible?"But you did saved my life, Vincent. And twice.." She smiled back to him, shydly even and much like she had confessed up her emotions to him, even if it wasn't it. But being the liar detector he was, Vincent felt it was the other way when he heard her heart beating up widly up against her ribcage as much as his own was accerlerating up as well.

He had known, that from this night on. He wouldn't be able to get away from her and even if people could take him away from her, he'd would do anything to stay here with her and without running or turning his back on her, at all costs. And it was by working up together and by saving each other. Cause being a beast or not, Vincent did felt the need to be saved by a woman like Catherine who would proudly give up on everything in order to protect him from any sudden danger. The same feeling went along with him through his beating up heart. When there may have had been darkness into his life before, Vincent had know felt some light that had lightened up his heart and Catherine Chandler was the reason of it. The light that was starting to burn up into his soul and from way deep down there. Maybe there was love locked up inside of his heart, after all. And Vincent was sure of it, when he looked down onto Catherine's troubled and concerned ones. Everything had changed ever since the moment they had meet. With bowl of chocolate bretzels and with a glass of a cold Coke. Along with her sweet and comforting smile that Vincent would always cherish for the rest of his life.

Cause not only, he had ended up to be in danger, but that the two of them were in danger as long they stay together. Against all odds.

...

There it is. Another oneshot with VinCat. I always had wondered what would have had happened if Vincent and Cat had meet a few hours before the attack had followed on. Knowing about how Cat had been confident and cheerfull before her mother had been murdered, she might have had cheered up Vincent way before they crossed paths as it had been in the pilot. A little from the beginning to the very end. At S1's very first episode. 'Pilot.'

Thank you beasties, from the deepest of my heart. Thanks for the support and love. And don't be shy, if you want me to write up an oneshot, I'm avalaible to achieve as long as I would also achieve on writing with my three other stories here.

See you guys, soon!
