WARNING! It's sad, and there's no Gaberine here.

...

Maybe. Maybe, one day.

You would be able escape the path they've made for you.

Maybe. Maybe, one day.

You would appoach your hidden part of yourself.

Maybe. Maybe, one day.

You'd go and ask them for the life they've taken away from you.

Maybe. Maybe, one day.

Knowing you would keep on living, so that I can live onto loving you.

After a sastifying interrogation with the Internal Affairs, an exhausted and worn out Catherine left the station witrh big steps and rushed outside and order to get into her rental car. After her own car had been held at the crime scene for evidence, she had rented another similar dark mustang. She unlocked up the door and opened up as she slid down onto the driver seat and slammed shut, before she could decide to whenever she had to leave or not. She took a deep breath and ran her hand through her hair bangs and closed up her eyes. Deep breaths, Cat. Deep was tough and hard, but Cat managed to keep things smooth and clear and especially if it was for Vincent. Despite the last moment they've shared together and onto which it didn't went very much alright. But he had made his choice and decided to go through his own way and that was without her.

And despite her giving him a last warning. Tell him or maybe yelled up at him that he could still walk away and save himself. Save them both. Us. She begged him, hardly. But he didn't chose them both as far as he went for the thirst of kill and kill an human being. Her own father, who was at the close range to get himself arrested and arccording to Gabe's plan here, after the bomb maker had ended up dead because of an unstable female beast. Thanks to Tori. They've decided to go with plan B.

Trying to blackmail Reynolds on their own and exposing Vincent's own friend's body and the very same one who had had his neck twisted when he had tried to kill her back at her reunion party. Zack. Which it had worked up but had left Cat to do the worst thing she thought had never would have had done. To shot an uncontrolling and enraging fully beastly, Vincent in order to stop him from killing Reynolds. She had no other choices, but to do it. This man whom she had known recently, had been nothing but a different man. A monster under another monster's own control here, but if there was one thing that had shattered Catherine, it was the look that Vincent had gave her back when the shot had been taken off and the way he held his injured side and looked back at her, shocked and horrified.

And the very next morning, she'd get interrogated by the Internal Affairs for an annual specification and to clearify the meaning behind Reynolds's arrest. Which had been easy to conclude and to specify all the mess, but to hide out all beast excistence and away from exposure and lying up to a recordering camera made her feel outrageous, guilty even. What if someone found out what had happened to Vincent, if he ever was trapped by the authorities? They'll found out that he had been shot by someone if he ever was brought to sociality.

It could get up to her ass, if she ever was found out that she had lied to a camera and especially from an agent that had been into the Federal Bureau Invastigation. She could go to jail, for lying. And Vincent would be in trouble even. If the man ever cared about her fate, any longer. Like, he would ever have by now.

As if he had cared enough for her before he went onto an uncontrolling beast and where he held Reynolds at a clutchering point and was at this close to kill him, she did it. She fired and shot him without any hesitation. She begged him to step back and gave him a choice. Save him. Save us both.

But didn't he listened? Oh. No. Vincent may never be able to forget or even forgive her for taking action and almost had killed him, that night. And from the way he had looked up at her with the shocked expression onto his face when she had commited the unthincapable. By destroying their couple and everything they've built on, together. He must hate her by now.

But could she ever be able to hate him as well? And especially after she nearly had killed him? No. Her mind wanted to, but her heart just couldn't. She couldn't be able to hate him forever. Oh God, she felt her heart wanted to buckle up in through her throat, and give up as a coward. Just like she may never have. Might even. Oh God. Could she even be capable of ever thinking it? Oh God. She lowered her forehead onto the wheel in despair. Oh man. She was already thinking of the unthinkapable of ever and the only that came in; it was the way he may never be able to forgive her, hate her even. Which it shattered her heart onto pieces. But she had no other choices, or he made her choose this decision which came along into some consecquences of their own destroyed relationship which she fought hard to keep on going. A love that had been burning for a while until it faded away. It had vanished completely and left her broken.

Get a grip, Cat. She didn't ran away for nothing here. She took a deep sigh and rose up her head as she tried to get ahold of her car keys, with frustration and insered the right one into the engire with her fingers still shaking. Keeping tears away from falling as she slowly backed away from the parking and went through the street. Damn, it hurted badly and yet she still wanted to cry for the man who had tested her patience and love. However, she felt like she had wasted tears for nothing. He made his choice, Cat. Gotta have to deal with it, girl. Enough is enough. Move forward. Pretty much like her own rental car had been doing.

But the pain was still visible and had been too much too bare and especially from last night, after she had the courage to brought up her father behind bars with a heavy heart and even after he promised to confess everything but without mentionning any word of any current living beasts, Reynolds had promised that he wouldn't put her up into a mess any more and that he would gladly take any punishement in order for to be out of the crucial world that he and Vanessa had made together. Spare her life from Murfield, but wouldn't it be enough to stop others from coming, and come after her and Vincent? Not so much. There might be others coming along and those who are interested into beasts, if they were others coming along the way. However, she was done and Vincent would just need to accept it. If he wanted to still be living into the hiding and away from from facing the world like an adult would have to go through. He'd needed to face the facts cause one way or another, people like Murfield would gladly catch him and kill him. Same for Tori, if she wanted to be a part of the beast life she had feared to appreciate until today. Psk, like it would even matter. She wouldn't survive a whole day even!

Vincent needed someone better by his side and not some spoild rich brat like Tori. Alex, had seemed better but since she went into hiding, she couldn't possibly step back into his life and after she was the one who had told Cat that Vincent loved her and not some ex-fiancee and even if she had been his first love, Alex had recognized that Vincent loved the brunette woman with all his heart and soul. However, things were too much different to step back now. Both of them had taken different choices and paid the price for it. While Cat chosed to stay into the light, Vincent had chosed another direction. The darkness path of the beast, probably.

And Gabe had been at her side when she lashed out her heart out and when she needed someone collapse into somebody, he had been there for her to hold on when he held back into an comforting embrace when she cried her heart out after stepping away from seeing Reynolds. After all, he wanted to made amends and help her to bring down the people that hurted them both and Vincent mostly. She wasn't sure, if she was ready to meet some other guy and date again but it had felt good to have somebody hold just for a second and even if it looked to be desparate. Gabe really had good intentions and was willing to come out and help her, at any time she wanted to ask. It almost sounded like if he was the one who might be in some unexplained attraction with her, but didn't probably showed off yet. Maybe because it was too soon, after a break-up? What about Tyler? Did it ever occured to him that she had willed to save him even if at the very end, she had sacrificed herself for him? Maybe, but all that it was in the past now. It didn't mattered anymore.

No. it didn't mattered.

Cat managed to drive all along the way to the deck from where Vincent's houseboat was being tied up to into the very daylight of the afterneath of the shooting and parked up close up to the coming down stairs. So close and so much pressure as she thought back while cut down engine and took the keys away when she took a peak to the houseboat and from where Vincent was now living into it with his other woman. An unstable female beast who pretedented and laughed off her ass when Cat thought she needed help. Oh God. Cat make a decision here. Either she could turn away or face her fear. She needed to say goodbye. To Vincent. If so then, why did she still had this weird feeling of ever feeling guilty, as if she felt like she owned him something in return?

Maybe, you because you still feel the need to protect him, and from everything, before you decide to let him go for good. She rubbed back her eyes with frustration. The last thing she needed to do it was crying. And she felt like she wasted enough tears by now and had spent the whole night wide awake outside at her rooftop with a knit grey sweater alone at the cold as a little voice through her head kept saying that Vincent would show up which he didn't. And probably, he might never show up from theirs own path they've chosen from that unforgiving night. Which it explained the situation of today. She needed to know where the two of them were standing in it, today. Or mostly, the way she was standing with him, today.

Be brave and face the day. Show must go on, girl, as Tess had often said when she had been drunk before through her enjoying drinking times from before. With a big strength, Cat unbuckled out her seat belt and pushed out the door as she slowly stepped out from the vehicle to face up the striking sun.

...

Ah, my love, I know..

I know you will come,

There, you will go crazy.

Ah, let's leave and far away from here, together.

Before we miss the train of our lifetime.

"Vincent?" The door was left open and the place was filled up with an worried and uncomforting silence as Cat pushed the door open and stepped inside of the entrance of the houseboat. Everything seemed quiet. The living room seemed to be at peace and with no clue of where Vincent might have had ran or hide away if it wasn't for the bloodstains left onto the counter with a bowl of water and she could state that the bloodstained tissues left onto the counter were not from a week ago, but from last night. It caused her to become worried, even when she shouldn't have to be. But she shivered at the sight. Oh No.

Vincent wasn't able to heal himself anymore, which meant only one thing to think about; He wouldn't nobody to ever find him alive or not. But how far could he keep on running? And even if it meant by dying? It torn up her insides into pain when she realized that the pain he might would have to go through. If he was willing to keep onto living unless it was for dying and leaving the people he cared abiout from behind. They're only getting worse, you know what you've seen. Her father's words were still at the back of her mind, hauntening her but there was still a part of her that believed that Vincent wasn't just like any other beast. He had too much of a struggling humanity that any men would want to keep for the woman they loved and close up to their hearts.

They once had loved. Catherine believed to be. So much as the bloostained tissues laid onto the counter like dying white roses from the way she had stared at them with sympathy. Dying white roses who were once loyal and faithfull. Just like she had been. Like they've been once in a forgotten lifetime.

But that was all into the past now.

She blinked back the threatening tears away as loud steps were heard from her back as she turned around to see the very last person she had expected to see and to face. Tori Windsor were standing up down onto the very last step of the staircase with the way she folded up her arms against her chest as she despised her own ennemy here. When it should have been Cat, herself to be this person and the person to be as daring enough to kick her ass away from ever stealing her beast boyfriend.

"You have a lot of nerve of coming up here.." Her voice sounded challenging as Cat gulped up hard to control herself from lashing out at the heiress who looked more like a slut with the way she was dressed up with her dark and almost invisible outfit sleeve and visible enough to see her dark bustier. If it wasn't for her red and loosely curled hair falling down onto her breasts and the way her make-up looked amazing along with her pale and ghosted features here. Even if she looked to be pissed off by the very soon and ex-girlfriend of her new boyfriend of a few days. Somebody whom she pretended to know more that Cat would have had in ten years as if she had known the price of taking and protecting a man like Vincent.

Oh No. Tori wouldn't last and the consecquences that the young heiress was gonna face were out counting and well ahead of her to be. She wouldn't have any idea of the danger coming up and to confront even. What a spoilt brat. And a boyfriend stealer, however, Cat wasn't in high school anymore. So, she had decided to come up and face with her fears instead of running away like Vincent had often been doing.

Still she wanted to smack that red haired bitch right struck into her pretty face. But she remained into control as she tried to stay calm. Even if she was irrated by her behavior and the way that Tori had manipulated her with her puppy glare features from before, she just wanted to puke down and right onto her dark and dress appearence. What a total and failed beast!

Jacob Black would have had been better instead and that without a shirt on.

"Tori, I didn't come here to fight.." She whispered back as her tone sounded irrated as much as the red haired woman made a few steps over the floor and looked up at her, knowning the fact she wored high and expensive dark heels. But it left Cat unimpressed as she stared back at the red haired woman back up.

"How could you shoot him? I've thought you loved him?" Tori's own voice sounded threatening of her own love story with Vincent. That was a question that Cat had often asked herself from the start of this disaster and the way things had turned out to be, in the other way. Cat thought she loved him but did he loved her back with the very same feelings that she had for him? She wasn't sure with the lack of his memories and even if they were slowly starting to fall back together, there was something that still kept apart. Not only there was Tori, but there was the beast. Vincent's beast who was also dangerous and tempting, but also very vulnerable when it came into another specimen and of the very same creature. Primal and exotic feelings when two beasts were entwined as one. But it wasn't the same feelings that she and Vincent had experienced. Cat had known that it was love and lately she had let it fly away.

No. It was Vincent whom had let it flown away from his hands while he still had the chance to step back when he didn't.

"I did." She had responsed back with a frown and as her eyes shifted up and up over at Tori's head to see another shadowy figure walking back down onto the stairs. Which it left her heart shattered once she had seen his tired and sweating features coming down along the way.

Vincent. Oh God. He looked like had spent the entire night and fully awake. And coming up from the bloodstains tissues left onto the counter, Cat could tell that he was getting worse. His gunshot wound was getting way more worse than it expected to be. And she had done this to him. Well, he didn't give you much of a choice, hadn't he?

"You shouldn't be out of bed, Vincent.."

"I'm okay.." He groaned back as much when he tried to sound assuring to the red haired woman but his features weren't. And then he looked back at her, and from what Catherine had seen, she had seen his features turning back into a silent form of frustration mixed up with sadness and pain coming through his brown eyes before they went back to Tori's piercing green eyes."Umm, listen do you mind leaving us alone, for a second?" Goddamn. He really looked pissed here and Cat wasn't sure if it was against Tori or herself. Mostly at his own actions. Maybe. As if he ever had regretted of choosing a path that led them to do this. Get things over between them. The red haired woman just shrugged back her shoulders at him and turned her head back at her as a warning and left off to walk up onto the stairs, by leaving them alone.

Things were already hard for Cat to try on keeping a brave onto her face as much she wanted Vincent to believe, but she could guess that he wasn't much convinced when he walked over and tried to find a better composure onto the counter, with a hand onto it. Like he held his own life onto it. Damn, right. He didn't looked alright.

"I just came here to make sure, you were okay." Which he wasn't from what she could see. His stare was avoiding her view as if he wanted her to be invisible.

"I'm fine.."He replied back with a groan that he couldn't hold up back. He didn't looked fine. Although he didn't looked like much to Cat's own eyes here. Who was he trying to convice up here? Definally not her.

"You don't look fine.." She shook back her head as she tried to not roll her eyes up here, much to his delight which she didn't wanted to give him, in any other way. Or nor Vincent wanted to as his eyes lifted up back to her.

"I'm not really, your problem, anymore. Am I?" He reminded back now as he almost had pushed the blame to her herself and only to her own as if she was blamed to. She stared up at him with a pelicular look as if he was serious by pushing the blame onto her. Her eyes glowed up with frustration and tears, although she managed to blink them back and walk pass to his way. Until she she changed up her mind as anger went through her head. After all, she also had the right to express her anger, not only Vincent had that damn right to do it or so.

"Don't blame me for this..I'm much as guilty like you are!" The words slipped out of her mouth, angrily but in much of control, when she whirled around to tell him the piece of her mind as much as he wanted as well.

"Why not?" It was Vincent's turn to turn around as much he had reminded her who had put him into this mess. Herself and only her as if she had ruined his chances to eleminate his number one ennemy. "You're the one who pulled out the trigger, if I have to remind you.." He added back, tiredly but with anger back at her face when she tried to explain herself once again. That was just it. He had hit a nerve here.

"I've warned you. I did gave you a choice-" She defended herself with the perfect answer coming up from last night when Vincent had cut her off before she could finish herself off.

"No, you did choose him over me-"

"No, I've chosed right over wrong!" That's what she had always believed and should have had in the first place. Damn, her eyes were burning here. Burning with tears. All that because of him! Which Vincent was keeping on defending himself again.

"Your father tried to killed me!" He lashed out angrily and right back to her face as his other hand held back to his injured side that was hiding up behind his black t-shirt. Tough as he looked to be, he didn't looked much stronger as he tried to handle the pain which he was probably failing up by now. And Cat could see it right here as she fought back.

"I couldn't let you kill him-"

"So, that's why; you chosed to shot me, instead?" Did she had the choice? Last time when he had killed an human being and even if it was to save somebody's life, it was back when Evan had got himself kidnapped by a frat boy who had been suspected of killing one of his classmates before, and Vincent, who wasn't able to control the side effects from the previous serum that had been injected with by her own mother, had killed him and had traumatized Evan ever since and brought him to his ennemies until he had been wronged and sacrificed himself for saving them both. Poor Evan, he didn't deserved such of a fate like that and especially when she should have been honest with him from the start. And Vincent, even if he may not remember this part, he would have had understood her of not letting himself falling away with his beast killing and especially when it meant by trying to kill a human being. Just like he had felt guilt when he had killed a such young boy, a year ago.

She had prevented him from having to deal with the same fate just like before and that was how he was thanking her? No. Remember Cat, Vincent may not have all his memories back but he had been under Tori's bad influence. Which it might become bad unless Vincent will be able to stop her from messing up with his mind and even if it might be without her like before. Cat had saved him from committing the irreparable and from losing his humanity if he ever wanted to keep onto having one. What would have had happened if he had killed Reynolds? Would have had tried to think about the other soldiers that had been killed before, from his own hand? Like Zach or even Sebastian? Not only him, had been under Murfield's trap, but so many others as well. Others that may never have the chance to express themselves, anyways.

"Well?" Vincent had interrupted her thinking as she had gotten startled by his shouting and pleading voice. She blinked up as she tried so hard to keep from not crying here.

"Vincent, is everything ok? Down there?" Tori's confused voice tone was heard from upstairs much as Cat wanted to spit out a curse here. Damn, that lousy bitch had been overhearing their private conversation and with the way her hearing had been ever since she had started to use her beast powers everywhere here. And since she cared about Vincent's well being, it was sure enough that she won't probably leave him alone and especially under the hands of his shooter and of his girlfriend. Well, soon ex-girlfriend. But the two of them didn't paid any attention to the red haired woman as Cat had also wanted to explode up when Vincent waited up for an reply.

"You've really thought I wanted to?" No, she didn't, but what else she could have had done to spare him from becoming a monster? And includding when he had been under the missy- beast and bad influence? And a very bad one, to spell out the truth.

"Look, Vincent. I've told you that I couldn't be the only one fighting for us and I've meant that.." As if he ever was listening to any of her excuses. Which made her want to hesitate if she wanted to pity him or not."You know, I really didn't wanted to end up this way, but I guess it has.."

"Looks, like it." He admitted back for an simple answer much as his features expressed pain all over."You still don't have to cover for me, anymore.." It was clear to this program. He didn't wanted her around now that they've both decided to break things away for now on. Much to her disbelief, Catherine just stood up there with her angry eyes as they've were about to glow up with unshed tears for a long lost moment and whirle around to open up the door so Vincent wouldn't see her burst out into tears, once again. Stop wasting up on tears for him! Stop the tears, Cat! You deserve better than that!

"Just one thing, here." He had called her back before she left the room as she held the door open as her tearfull expression turned back to him. His eyes still full of pain and betrayal even, but he still demanded to know if he ever was worth it to her in a way."Did I ever mattered to you, even for one thought, though?" Did it ever occured? As if he demanded her to know if she still had cared for him, would she had stopped herself from shooting him? She sure have had before, but until everything went completely down. Cat nodded back by helding up the door handle tight and tried to hold back from letting the angry tears fall as her broke to this declaration.

"You did. But that was a longtime ago.." She replied back and had released a deep long defeating sigh hopping she wouldn't let any other upsetting words coming out from her mouth as she added up this."A lifetime even."Because I loved you and cared for you enough to save your sorry ass. He may not remember it and might never as well. Better end things the way they are now before she could run back and hug him. And because the temptation was strong enough for her to do it. Cat pulled the door widen open and left away before she could even hear him, and even if it was for the last time.

Be strong, Cat. You're way more tougher than this and you know better than to burst down onto tears for a guy who can't even appreciate the efforts you've made for him. She made big steps as she walked away from the houseboat as she kept thinking out loud until she walked up to her car. Blinking up away the tears away from her sight and even if they wanted to fall all over and even if she had felt her own heart wanting to burst out into pieces. But she had to come over to end up things with Vincent which she had done, but somehow she felt this weird thing inside of her heart wouldn't just leave her alone.

Ah, my love, I know..

I know you will come,

There, you will go crazy.

Ah, let's leave and far away from here, together.

Before we miss the train of our lifetime.

But why? Why, that uncomfortable feeling wouldn't leave her alone? Why? Because, you still love him, you idiot. That's why..Cat unlocked up her door and slid down onto the driver seat, slammed the door shut and enpowered the engine while cursing out loud Vincent's name through the shutted windows when she backed away from the spot.

...

Back at the station where everyday looked like the same and filled up with work, Cat sniffed back through her nose as she made her way back to her desk, bravely as she ran her fingers through her hair. And even through a few fellow officers wondered what the hell had happened with her. And includding the way she had attracted the attentions of two others detectives. Ciccotelli and Romano. The guys who had been nothing but noisy up with her a couple weeks ago when they had to deal up with her cases while she was too much focusing onto Vincent's missing whereabouts. Too much.

And with the way she had put them into much trouble, lately. But that was over. She was going to take full responsability now like any other grown woman of her own age.

"You're sure, you're okay? Chandler?" One of them had asked back, and mostly Ciccotelli. who stepped over to her side, concerned. As if it ever had mattered guy whose own father had been into hiding away because he was an retired mobster and had been left unheard for a longtime after he had heard that Ciccotelli was his own biologichical son. In order for Ciccotelli to feel safe and so he wouldn't be tracked down and especially when his own partner and friend Romano who worked into organized mob cases. It would be better.

"Yeah. I'm alright, Dante. I'm okay. Hard night, that's all.." She slipped out his first name by accident. A name to which any devil would gladly take, but this guy who had once had been into the very same police academy as much like she had been with Tess was just a nice guy. Well as long you don't step into his feet, the total opposite of his own partner.

"You look like you've cried.." Had blurted out Nick Romano as he walked over to his partner and folded up his arms against his hard chest."Heard, you've had arrested your father, last night. Must've not been easy to go through it." Oh No. It sure it wasn't. Cat had sighed and whirled back around to face the duo here. Ciccottelli looked tall and built enough through his grey t-shirt and his dark pants and with short and messy dark hair and unshaved beard of three days but not much like Romano who looked like a giant hunk. But much clean off than his partner looked to be. His dark strawberry short hair was combed back to the back of his head and black seemed like it suited him. But in a meaner way than Ciccottelli looked to be. Much as Cat took a look at the unlikely duo. Quite like a dèjà vu thing if she could compared them to the team that she and Tess looked to be.

"No. It wasn't.." She pursed up her lips while she tried to hold on into her irritation felings. Not much when it came to arrest her father, but what her actions lead things to a worse spot.

"Good thing you haven't gotten yourself shot by him.." Cat gave Nick an startled look as much when Dante elbowed him back to cover up his snickering over the female detective. He didn't found it funny as much as his partner made it sound it like.

"Not funny, Nick..That thing is too personal to bare, though."

"What? I've thought it would lighten things up..And after the mess her own father made her go through, from last night." Romano had defended himself back.

"Still not funny, Nick." Ciccotelli had followed back and turned back to Cat."Who ever had messed up with you, I can still kick that guy's ass. Just tell me when, and I'll do it." He was serious to his words which it almost made her smile. How sweet, she almost had admitted to herself. For three almost three months, Ciccotelli had been nothing but a pain to the ass, until today. Maybe because he felt bad from the way he had acted towards her and how it must have had been hard for her to arrest her father not having the other way around, instead. Cause, not only she hadn't gotten herself shot back from her father, but had done the unrepearable, though.

Losing Vincent. When he was about to go into an uncontrollable and blinded rage as he wanted to kill off her father. And Ciccottelli might not stand a chance against him, though.

"What makes you think, it must have been a guy that made me cry? I can still handle my fights, you know?" She spoke up like a big girl here, but the dark haired male detective wasn't much convinced at all.

"Well, from the looks of it; my gut tells me that it must have been a guy that must have had made you cry and these tears, they don't look like they've been coming from last night.."Had admitted Ciccotelli back. However, Cat just shook her head and waved back off her hands as a sign of surrunder. He was strong to that fact, but she didn't wanted him to be sure of his own words. No. It was her fight and only her would have to deal with the pain of losing Vincent. She didn't wanted nobody to feel pity over her. And even if she did cried on her way up to work, after she had left Vincent's houseboat. Which it did happen.

"Don't worry, I'm okay. I just need to stay focus onto work. That's all." She tried to convince herself with work that she'll might be able to get finished and pay back the lack of effort that she hadn't made up before. "You guys have any work?"

"Nope, not me.." Romano was the first to reply as much when his partner had also agreed back when he shrugged off his shoulders, as a sign of defeat.

"It's been quiet, lately and especially after Reynolds's arrest. And Joe's drama, here.." Ciccotelli had added back with a tired sigh as he massaged the back of his neck.

"And speak of the other woman, here she comes.." Nick had whispered bck as the three of them whirled around to see Tess stepped out from the bathroom and walked out directely onto their direction. Tess had her own delimenas when it came to her own heartfelt sensations and even after she went on into loving her own married boss, a few colleagues of the precinct still hadn't respected her even from that moment. And a good think that Joe hadn't got the guts to humiliate her when he had been fired by the big bosses from the law. Unless, they had transfired him onto another precinct to help him out to get over the traumatic moment of losing his little brother who had gotten himself killed by a beast that Cat had sworned to protect until today. And failed. Just like Tess failed Joe or more like he had failed her to love her.

Oh Boy, Tess looked way worse just like Cat had been, but hadn't lived up an horrible heartbreak. But had to put on a dead beast fella into the back of the car of the very much suspected man. In order to put an end to the blackmailing of Gabe's doing from last night. And to whom the car had been left away when Cat had tracked Reynolds away and leaded up into a collision after an enraged and filled beastly Vincent had jumped up onto the front of Cat's car and startled her with fear. Which costed up the accident.

"Hey.."

"Hey..Got any good coffee, here?" Tess had followed back, tiredly as she reached up to her desk and gave an bad eye stare to the boys here. Which they've took as a sign for them to leave them alone. Figuring out that both girls needed to be alone here as Cat stared up at them with a long look before she turned back to Tess for an explanation which Tess had added. "Did you slept good, last night?"

"Do I look like I've slept alright. To you?" Cat pointed back at her bloodshoot eyes as if they've made their own little mark her and through her cheeks. Ciccottelli was right in one thing. She sure had cried on the way up from her destination to the station here. And these tears had come along from a man who had to bare an such complicated path from now on and on his own. She did cried while she drove herself up from Vincent until she came accross to here. Tess just winced back at the invisible picture just to think that her friend and partner had cried like a thounsand of tears here. It made her feel worse.

"It went that bad?"

"It went quiet but nicely. We both needed to say what needed to be said." Cat breathed out for a short answer with a firm smile. A smile that possibly reach out to her face."It's over with Vincent.." She had specified back onto a clear term as her friend made a weird frown trying to find any way of sharing any sympathy towards her even, if she hadn't anything good to say about Vincent's new behavior and the way he had been acting up ever since, Cat and the rest of the gang had found him. He did a number to Cat's emotional status and physical state.

"Damn, I'm sorry to hear that.." She tried to clearify even if she hadn't any sympathy towards her bestie's now ex onto the list now and Cat had known about it when she tried to defend herself as Tess leaned over to her desk and tried to focus onto the pile of papers here.

"Yeah. I know that. But it had to happen. It couldn't go on onto that way, anyways. He chosed that path, I've chosed mine even if I had told him to move away which he hadn't. So, here I am today. Single and free of beasts-"

"You're sure about that point? You don't look like it, even when you're trying to convince yourself, here..Did I ever mentioned you that you were such a bad liar, before?" Tess pointed back as she looked down to the piles of unfocused cases onto her desk as Cat blurted out.

"Hey, what? No I'm not!" Cat had almost blushed out at this realization which almost made her want to chuckle for a second but came back to the real subject. "Which is why I want to focus onto work. My ow-Police work, I mean. Real procedural work and the one I used to focus on, before I lost control.." She went out as an excuse."And it'll be better if we stop use up the beast word, for the meantime. It'll help for me to move on, even better.."

"You're sure, you'll be able to forget that word and fast?" But Tess wasn't much convinced as Cat tried so hard to look like it. But wasn't she? Who was she trying to convince others, or herself?

"Yes-I mean, not as fast and it'll probably take some time and especially what had happened last night, I'll-"

"It just happen, okay? Give yourself some time-.."

"I don't want time! I want to move on as fast as I can!" But despite her friend's calming words, Cat just exploded by cutting her off when she had straightened up her back and took a weird but startled look back at her friend who looked almost like an impatient kid who wanted candy at some candy store. Which surprised Tess who had never seen Cat bursting out her anger out for anything that was less important unless it was deep personal, like getting an heartbroken and torn up break-up.

Welcome to the club, dummy.

"Calm down..I believe you." She rose up her hands and mentionned Cat to calm down. As the petite woman put a hand over to her chest and tried to calm down her accerlerating heartbeat and taking a few deep breaths. Good thing, nobody looked around them.I'll definally need some ice-cream craving once I go home! Calm my nerves over watching an old movie. Like; Sex and the city girl, with Wood and Curtis..Unless something else but anything with romance. ARGH!

"Look, Tess. I know I haven't been much around lately and been around with Vincent after he had gotten kidnapped-"

"Well, way before to that point. Before he got snatched away.." Good point.

"Well, I do mean it and I'm done with Vincent. I want to move foreword. However, my feelings can't go away as fast, it'll surely would take some time, but.." Cat tried to remain calm as she shook her head as her friend kept on listening."But I've done everything I could..I know that.." To save him as I've always had.

"Okay." Tess shrugged back with an unconvinced smirk and handled her an file. "Wanna work? Got some for ya.." About damn time. She'll be able to focus on other things than Vincent or even thinking about for a while from what Cat had rejoiced herself with as she whirled around and started to follow Tess who was also walking up to the counter where coffee was already made. Even if it still was disgusting to drink or even thinking of how long it had been there.

"I guess, it's a little scary but also fun and kinda of exciting now that I no longer have to play around with chasing beasts and now that I have more free time and without Vincent, but I.." She stopped her tracks in second as much when Tess whirled around with a snicker. Way to go, Cat. She may have a loud mouth and especially when she tried to convince herself of the other way of moving foreword and away from the man who had saved her life almost eleven years ago and had known that she couldn't possibly erase all these memories away from her mind, though even if it meant to be in one night.

"I had known that there was a 'But' coming along.."

"No. It's not what you think. It's just, there's something that's holding me back. Maybe guilt?" Was guilt the part of the mess and from the way she tried move on but just couldn't? Like the fact she was still worried about the way she left things with Vincent? Cat had to recognize that he wasn't feeling very well when she walked onto the houseboat. He did looked like hell. Not only about the betrayal over her decision, but also the gunshot which made things harder for him to get over with. And knowing with the way she left him afterso many years on trying to track him down."I kinda feel guilty or something.."

"Guilty? Like what? That you've shoudn't have shot him? The reverse thing had happened to Ciccottelli, when he had been undercover onto tracking a tricky mobster, a couple years ago. You know?" Even if that fact had been true from many years ago, Cat had known that Ciccottelli had forgiven his father a longtime ago and remained in good terms with him. However, he did warned him that if he ever found out that he was going back into trouble, he wouldn't hesitate to arrest him in any way just like Nick would have to do so. He got away lucky with the Internal Affairs, but the agent that had interrogated him about the shooting hadn't been Special FBI Agent, Hendricks back then, and then the case was finally settled away and long forgotten. However, it might not be that easy for Cat to get away from.

"No, it's not..I don't know what it is.." She didn't know what it messed up with her and yet she felt like she owned something to Vincent. Maybe because she hurted him and left him when he needed her? No. He's a big boy. He'll handle his own problems on his own if Tori doesn't make it way worse for him to bare. However, there was still a part of her that wanted to rush back up to him and to make sure he was okay.

Even if he wasn't, emotionally.

"Like I said, it just happened. You gotta give some time to resolve all over your feelings and especially with Vincent." Tess had smiled back to her confused smile. "Why don't you think I've stayed away from a guy and especially, after Joe left off. Gotta think of yourself first after you've spent too much onto giving for others. You end up hurt, at the end." Which she did. She may looked tough and had a heart of a warrior, but still there was a part that wanted to burst and scream. Scream like mad as if she had been the one who was left off with the pieces here and not Vincent. Did she felt bad for him? Of course, she were. Cat shook her head.

"Well, at least. What Vincent had said something that was quite true. Told me that I don't have to cover up for him anymore.." Even if you can't stop that in one day, although, kitty. It wasn't gonna be easy, anyways. And especially when Gabe's proffessional voice was heard behind her back, which had startled her as she whirled around to see him standing next to another man. A man with a gold and strinked grey short hair with glasses hanging on and a grey suit with both hands into his pockets as he gave her defiant stare. The same man who had interrogated her before this morning.

Special FBI Agent Hendricks.

And he didn't looked much happy to begin with or even to see her, at all. Oh no.

"Detective Chandler, Speacial FBI Agent Hendricks would like to share a few words with you.." Hendricks still wanted to talk with her? And about what? Thought that everything had been cleared off, both her and Reynolds had stated everything they had known from the events of last night, unless something was wrong..Which it made Cat feel a little off.

"Is something wrong?" And from some strange and despite how much Gabe wanted to stay into his precautious state, he really and almost looked angry when he had avoided her stare as he looked back at the agent here who stood cold even if his words sounded a little rushed here.

Something was off.

"Maybe. A couple things had just came out here. I just wanna to make sure your story was as straight as it still might be, if you know what I mean?" The FBI Agent looked a bit snob. Damn right. Something was off. Hadn't he learned something that she hadn't known? Unless..If it had to do anything with the scene crime, if the forensic team had found something something else that she or Reynolds had stated back.

"Let's do this one more time into the interrogation room, shall we?" Hendricks was quick to hios words as he left her off and went back to the room from where everything had started from the morning. Cat felt herself shivering much as she and Gabe were both staring at him back, complexed.

"What's going on?"

"I don't know. Something tells me that your story was and had been convincing until it wasn't any longer, although. Something else must have happen to make Hendricks change his mind about your statement." Gabe had tried to say back much as his words seemed to sound uncertain as well as she was. Unless, they did found something else and from the way that Cat gave a quick thought she'd rememembered of how Vincent had looked like when he had joined her back when she walked up to the houseboat back and the way he looked like he was hiding pain away from her sight. Not only, he was betrayed by her own actions but he did looked awfull when he tried to not hold on onto his injured side and the very one that she took aim at and shot him, without any hesitation. Oh God. What if the bullet that had shot Vincent went through and out, onto the street?

"Think, he had found something else?" The female detective had looked back at him with a horrified sight here. To think that a bullet had been lying around the street and that could possibly match her own gun and with the one she took a shot with, might be considered as a evidence that could possibly put herself and Vincent under jeapordy and mostly Vincent. Which she couldn't take or shake him off from her feelings, in faster than she expected.

"Must be..We better figure that out.." Gabe looked back at her with a sigh. Even if he did tried to assure her. His eyes wanted to give her that statement even if he wanted to lie to them."Don't worry, I'm not letting you go all alone in that room. I'll make sure to know where Hendricks is getting with all of this.."

...

Now what? Catherine couldn't believe what she was hearing. Sank down onto the interrogation room along with Gabe at her side. She felt weary and annoyed. She had already explained everything she had known and tried to look as much convincing as she looked to be towards Hendricks who was at the front and away from the table looking exhausted and irritated as he explained once again for the third time. And speciafically, when he had accused her of hiding a third person from the shooting, though. Which means Vincent would get himself in trouble if his identity was found around. Including hers and mostly, she would end up to be in jail if she was ever found out to have had lied to an federal agent here. Which it was unfair. Includding Gabe as well, if anybody had known about his presence to the crime scene and especially through the whole setting up on getting Reynolds blackmailed and arrested, he'll probably get himself disbarred.

"Like I said, there was nobody else around when I've had arrested Agent Robert Reynolds." Cat tried to state back again by being patient over and over again.

"How, about after the crash?" Hendricks had asked up as he sat down but closely to her and into the front so he could stare her right to her face while he had her under record with his phone that laid onto the table as another agent, a woman closely watched them talk from a far much as Gabe stood to Cat's left side. Much like a lawyer would have had.

"No."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Detective, I feel compelled to remind you, that you are under oath, here."

"I'm sorry, are you accusing her or something?" Gabe had blurted out which the FBI Agent tried to stay formal even if he felt like bursting out here..

"I'm just asking questions. It's nothing illegal, Lowan."

"Pardon me, I thought, it was just a simple statement. Pro forma inquiry. I mean."

"It was, but now it is an investigation." Oh Crap. They did have had found something else. Cat kept looking up at him with a fixed and calculating stare. She braced herself for the worst to come.

"Wait a minute here. Like what?" She shrugged back her shoulders when Hendricks turned his attention right back to her face. When he faced her with the reason of his sudden coming back.

"Because, you're not telling me the truth." That hit a nerve from what she could understand as she furrowed her eyebrows. "That's what, detective. Pretty much like your colleague, Detective Dante Ciccottelli when he did fooled the past agent who had interrogated him, years ago after he was shot. And rumors had told it was by his own father, until all charges were dropped.." Hendricks had stated back as he had done his own research from the other cop."But I do have you under my watch, and it'll be pretty hard to get you away from these facts.-"

"And now, you're accusing her of doing the same thing? Based onto that?" Gabe had interrupted off before the agent could have gotten away with his words.

"Most on other thing?" Hendricks bend over to the table to reach up an plastic bag with a bullet. Stained up with blood and sealed up onto the evidence bag as Cat was looking up at it, trying to not flinch it at the scary exposure. Crap! She did forgot something important here. Like getting the evidence erased but since she had been too emotional to focus onto it, she had easily forgotten about that detail. Important detail."This bullet was found at the scene and the very same one that matches up, a standard-issue, N.Y.P.D 9 mm." Oh Crap. Her own service gun from the forces."And since it has blood on it, it also indicates that someone was shot at the scene. Other than you and your father had stated that there was nobody else but the two of you there, back at that night." He had a point to this fact and if she ever was found to be lying, it might be worse than ever and mostly for Vincent if the authorities would ever come up to him, it's gonna be over for him to walk away as she would not be there to help him out, now.

"Care to amend your statement, Detective Chandler?" The female detective just stared up at him, hard. When the flashing images of the events from last night went through her mind with Vincent getting shot and the way he looked back at her, so shocked and betrayed at her own sudden actions. He couldn't have had thought that she would have to be this capable of ever doing that to him.

Betraying their relationship for good.

...

As much as Catherine was struggling to keep her version well maintened, Gabe couldn't help but to notice that a few colleagues were snooping the scene through the half closed curtains. Some people like Romano, Ciccottelli and even Tess were trying to figure out whatever the hell was going on behind the show here. Curious on how the show as going to end but aware of it. At least, there were a few people that still cared about Cat's questioning status over and might not get the better of it. Cause, unlike Ciccottelli, Cat may not be that lucky to get out of the man's terrifying roar, and by Vincent speaking.

But the entire law, itself. Think, Gabriel, think! If this kept on going on for more, Hendricks would found out about something else as well and it might be Vincent's walking dead steps. Cause if this bullet is a match, it's going be a third world war right here and now.

A sudden smacking sound along with a "Ow!" sound from the outside was heard as Gabe took a tired look back at the window with a startled up glance before he managed to form up a frown. He could see from the window that Romano was rubbing up the back of his head with his hand as Ciccottelli was scolding him up and with Tess who had decided to slowly back off away from the bickering as she responded onto her phone. He wanted to help out Catherine and especially after she had saved his life in order to save Vincent's first from Murfield, only to realize that she had been up to a stranger than the nman she had fell for and had shot him through the gut in order to prevent him from killing and doing a mistake that he might would have to carry on for the rest of his life. His own humanity. Just like she managed to spare mine from losing it. Gabe had been there for her, when she had broke down after realizing that no only she had arrested her father but had lost Vincent for maybe forever.

And now her efforts and love for Vincent would gladly put her into hell now. Now, that her efforts would certainly cost up her life while her ex would certainly fly away from her now. If I still was a beast, I would have had paid Vincent an unforgettable visit that he wouldn't certainly ever forget anytime soon. Like twisting up his neck, after the pain he had cost and made her, endure. That's for sure. But a quick death wish was just too easy to do or so. But he'll come up with a plan, for sure when his attention went back to the interrogation between the female detective and and the impatient agent and certainly, Hendricks was tired of going around once more as the two were arguing here and Cat didn't hold herself back up and not even for a second.

"You do have to know how hard it had been for me to come up and arrest my father.."

"And the father who you admit have had collusion with. You're both trying to cover up for whoever got shot that day." The federal agent had enough of it, already. He was fuming onto it and desperately when he hated being lied up to the face. However, Cat tried to stay onto the original facts and didn't quite cared if he had been offended, either. She tried to be very careful onto her words as they were being recorded here.

"I don't know what you're talking about.." She shook her head, denying all that. All his words away from her will. Against her will. Which Hendricks gladly wanted and even if it was for the fourth time, as Gabe clearly had thought back in silence.

"I don't believe you-" The federal agent had almost raised up his voice into frustration here when Cat didn't gave a damn to it, anyways.

"And I don't care, any of it.." Cat made herself perfectly clear as Gabe could understand any of it as the two noisy birds outside the room were whispering to themselves. He could see them from a far.

"Think, that's she's gonna lawyer herself up? It's getting intense in there.." Romano had spoke up close to his partner who shrugged back as his glance had never left off the screen.

"Dunno about that. From what I've remembered, the agent that had me under a ground for a while had suddenly took off. He probably decided he was wasting his time over me.." Seriously? It sounded so easy to hear them bickering, that it almost made the A.D.A jump out into action here. He had heard enough.

"Asked and answered. She gave you her own statement twice." He decided to step back for now as if it was needed when he whirled around and almost held her behind as if she needed back-up from him. A shield, even. "Why are you harrassing her?"

"Cause my job is to make sure that anybody here is telling the truth, and she is not!"

"You don't know that!"

"The hell I don't!" Hendricks scoffed back to Gabe's defensive answer and throw back down the evidence bag he held onto the table. He wasn't buying to any of this and with this bullet under his hold. Cat's career might as well be finished and all that because she wanted to save Vincent from doing the irreparable.

"Now, let's make no mistake here, detective. I'm giving the chance to walk away and save your career, who is on the line here. You better tell me the truth, or else you wouldn't be as lucky as your colleague had been over the years. Now, speak up.." But Catherine tried to hold back up her tongue with difficulty as much when her eyes tried to not blink up to the agent, and Gabe was certain that she wanted to explode out Vincent's name, but didn't had the guts to do it. It would be like a total betrayal over her loyalty to him. His own as well.

"Who else was there? Who are you protecting?" Hendricks demanded back with rush which it almost made Cat shiver through her lower back much as Gabe was watching her back."Who are you hiding here?" She blinked up to this answer like Vincent's painfull eyes came through her mind as he told her before she had left him.."You still don't have to cover for me, anymore.." He replied back again. Telling her to give up on him which she wasn't able. She did owned him in a certain way and from the years he had watched and protected her from a distance and Cat wasn't the one who would want to expose him into danger. She couldn't do that to him. And especially, when they've decided to take different paths, now.

She just couldn't.

"Nobody." Her tone was firm and threatening as if she wanted to burst out the only one name that made her going through an undying turmoil. But Gabe could tell that she flinched up a bit through her eyelashes and gulped through her throat. A part of her wanted to scream Vincent Keller's name out loud here. But held herself back from having the guts to do it. A part of her was still in love with him and no matter how she tried to deny it, it'll take time to erease these strong feelings and himself wouldn't be able to make her forget about Vincent Keller, any other way. She couldn't do that to him, any other way and it didn't mattered that she was to cover or not for him, she had known it just wouldn't be fair for him.

Maybe. Maybe, one day.

You would be able escape the path they've made for you.

And somehow, Gabe envied Vincent for the love he couldn't recognize and the very one that Cat still kept for him. And it made the ex-male beast frustrated even. Cat didn't dserved to get hurt from him, but had deserved better. Somehow, Reynolds was right in one point, she deserved a real and normal life which it was by stay away from beasts. And away from Vincent, from the entire start. Crap, Gabe. You're falling in love with her now. Damn it. He closed his eyes and sighed, hoping he'll calm himself down. He didn't wanted to make a scene here, and especially sparing the humiliation when he opened up his eyes.

"Alright then." Hendricks had concluded after he waited for one last answer from Catherine in order to walk away by stating that there might have been someone else into the crime scene, but had kept her story straight. For almost the fourth time, again.

"I will need your firearm and I will need your shield. You gave me no other choice as I've warned you before." He had told her back, briefly."And it's an order, detective." Catherine stood silent as she turned around to look up at Gabe who had only shook up his head, by gestering up and taking Hendricks's own order. In the most quiet way, though. She sat up onto her full height and released out her working up gun and her sheild much to her displeasure. Which the agent only shook his head off as he grabbed her gun and handled over to the agent behind him.

"Have Ballastics examine this for a match. Top priority." And followed back to the female detective with a nod and a smirk onto his face that Cat would have wanted to turned off."You are suspended till the results will come out and don't leave the country as you're it." Hendricks had warned her off to her frustrated face which made him feel so satisfied.

...

Damn you! Vincent! Damn you! It would have been better if I'd have had him killed, instead! No. Cat wouldn't have woundn't that to happen, but did he gave her much of a choice? Hell no. And there she was storming off of the room along with Gabe behind her back as he tried to stay quiet even if she like he wanted to unleashed out and from the way Speacial FBI, Agent Hendricks made her go through. And from the way she've had chosed to lie in order to protect Vincent and to still keep him under the radar.

Even if he had told her that she didn't needed to cover for him, anymore now. That it wasn't her responsibility for her to protect him.

"Cat, calm down.."

"Calm down? Don't tell me to stay quiet.." She nearly had lashed out."You've heard him what he had said? I'm suspended. That's just great. So much for my moving on. What am I gonna do?"

"Look, you don't have a choice-" Gabe stopped his tracks as he looked back around, lowering up his voice to make sure that nobody were listening to them here, and especially two cops's whose noses weren't supposed to be looking back at them, from the interrogation room. He had noticed that both Romano and Ciccottelli had vanished off and went back to theirs desks, looking like they've had done nothing wrong here. As if nothing had happened when they were focused onto theirs computers.

"You gotta stick to your story.." He reminded her back when she felt like doing something worse here when she turned around to face him.

"Right. Sticking up to my story might help on saving Vincent, but not much for me." Cat had also lowered up her voice."And that bullet is gonna match and maybe Vincent as well, if he gets caught faster than we both expected to-"

"This is where you're wrong." Gabe had corrected her." It might match up to your gun, but not to a body. They're not gonna match and link up the blood to a person whose been dead for almost ten years, Cat."

"Once, Vincent's fingerprints were at some crime scene and through the data here, a year ago.." Cat recalled back another time when both hers and Vincent's paths had crossed for the first time. And lucky for them, they got away for it and she made sure that he stayed safe, but after Joe's bother's own death. It wasn't much likedly. And even with Joe being transfired away, Cat had been afraid that someone smart around here would re-open up the case to get back at Vincent if it is Darius's death, it would linked him to that mess.

"It might not this time. He's too much different from before, Cat. His DNA changed. Nobody would be able to after him." Gabe had followed back with his tone as assuring as he could manage.

"Alright, but how does it help me?" Vincent might get away if he managed to stay alive, but not much for her. And with Hendricks watching over the case, it'll be hard to stay calm with the fear of getting herself into jail, if her statement ended up to be false but with her firearm snatched away and under ballistics's checking.

"They can't prosecute you, if they don't have a victim. And with Vincent staying away from any sight it'll be better." That was true, but it wasn't much to convince Cat as she started to step away from the crowded station along with Gabe leading up to the hallway.

"But they're still gonna know that I've shot somebody. Even if I get off, technicality, they'll know that I had lied. I can't believe that I'm stuck up with by protecting Vincent, even after we've broken up." And personally, it might get him into deeper trouble if prosecutions kept on pushing on until they could find him.

"Maybe, you won't have to..If they don't have the bullet." Gabe had came up with this line which made Cat wonder, and starting to ask herself where he was going up with this. Unless, he had an idea behind his head.

"What are you trying to say, here?" And when it clicked up to her head, she had stopped him as she stood up by blocking up his way."No. No. Whatever, you're thinking. Just drop it now. I won't dragging you down with me on this. I won't let you."

"You won't let me?" A smile was beggining to form up at the corner of his face. "Just try and stop me." He looked too certain here much to her worry."Look, Catherine, I didn't just set out to save Vincent, but to save you too. And I know that I hadn't done that in the very good way, obviously. But I'm going to. Whether you like it or not. It is my decision."

"What do you ever get out of it?" What was he trying to prove?

"Redemption, and possibly, a few drinks hopefully.." He answered back. And maybe more but a man could always dream of and Cat was sure of it. He wanted to make amends to the trouble he had caused her before while she had been protecting Vincent and now that she was completely alone, he wanted her to know that he was gonna take care of things and even if it meant by stealing evidence to help her out. Which she had strongly disagreed towards him as she heard Tess's loud footsteps stepping back with an irritated face look.

"Guess who used their one phone call to call me? J.T. just got busted at Hudston Union Hospital, and you know for what? Stealing blood."

"That far? What made him do that?" Gabe looked perplexed as Tess sighed back with defeat.

"Desparate move, I'd say. He tried to get in as quiet as he could but security footage caught him to the act. Both meds and blood into his hold."

"Looks like Vincent is way more worse than he led on to be.." Cat had figured out. If a bullet had been found, it meant that it went out from the back. It was an entry and exit wonder Vincent looked almost feverish this morning and horribly bad than she had expected. And as he had been a doctor before, he thought he could take it and treat the wound on his own. Great. That idiot might even die because of his stupid choices. Don't blame him for hiding Cat, he's a beast and if he's ever being exposed, more people are gonna be looking out for him. Murfield or not, it might be.

"Keep me tracked while I check down to see Vincent.." She called back and walked away in a rush without hearing Gabe's calling out for her. If I don't kick his ass first, yeah. He better not die because of this, if he does, Cat woudn't hesitate to shot some sense into him, again.

...

Maybe. Maybe, one day.

You would appoach your hidden part of yourself.

Catherine had straight away walked up to the Gentleman's Guild, after she drove herself back to the houseboat and to found it empty and close up with the door left open wide. Great. He had tried to walk away once again. Until, Vincent had walked out onto a different way which it lead up to his other place and the first one who he had once shared with J.T.

And to her thankfull thoughts, she managed to find him over there. Still worse and in pain. Pissed off like he had been this morning.

However, he was sweating up hard as he held himself back up from behind the bar counter as he drank some water and to state that he was alone here and without any surveillance. Not even Tori was around here. Talking about real privancy without having an uncontrolled female and spoild brat around, like Cat pursed her lips together and even if she wanted to bit them in order to control her anger.

"J.T.'s not here."

"I know. He's in jail." She saw his glance staring right back at her, still pissed and irritated when she did explained back."He got busted at the hospital for stealing blood and meds."

"God. You've gotta get him out of here.."

"We are." She replied back. Not so sure of how Tess would get J.T. out from jail if he was brought up, already or not. But she was more worried about Vincent's worsering state and to say that he wasn't looking any good, at all. Her eyes shifted back to him, unable but to let herself worry about his condition."We're all covering up for you, Vincent. Question is; what are you doing to save yourself?"

"I thought we've had that conversation. Techinally, I'm not your problem anymore.." He made it clear to this point as she kept moving up to him when he wanted to step back from her.

"Just because what you did doesn't mean that I don't care about you anymore." That was a point. However a strong feeling wouldn't be able to vanish away with two snapping fingers. It might take forever for her to erase it."That just doesn't go away. I don't know. It might never." Catherine had concluded that. Was she doomed to never be able to forget him?

"Okay. I know that you don't wanna go to the hospital-" Damn right. He didn't wanted to go. When he finally moved away from the bar counter by grabbing up the desinfectant bottle with him and stepped away from her speech.

"All, right forget it. You don't seem to understand the situation, here. You seem to forget that I'm a dead guy through papers, remember?"

"Say that, again?"

"Say, what again? You should know. Especially you, of all people.." Vincent snickered back as he stopped right here as he opened up the bottle and poured the liquid onto the towel as Cat tried to explain to him. Calmly as she could.

"Okay. They're not gonna trace up your blood to DNA or to any past crime. Nobody needs to know that you're a beast."

"No, but they'll run my prints, they'll found out that I'm Vincent Keller.." What was the problem to that? He had been to the hospital before, such when he was tracking down the hunted arsonist and meet his nerphew Aaron. After so many years, into the run. Or maybe, it was just personality crisis that he'd been having up to deal with. And especially when she wasn't around to help him out onto who he was anymore. A man or a beast? He didn't looked so sure who he was at this moment and the name Vincent Keller had almost sounded like a stranger to him as he sounded and desparately, confused now. Despite his frustration.

"So?"

"So, I don't know who that is anymore.." He reminded her back almost desperately and sat down onto J.T.'s favorite chair with a grunt. "Catherine, there's been a target on my back for years or maybe even more, okay? You expect me to shine a light on it all of a sudden? And let the whole world take a shot on me? Yeah, right. No thanks." He pushed the towel to his side and groaned back with a wince.

"Murfield's gone and my father's in jail. No one else is going after you now.." She did specify that, but Vincent shook his head in defeat. Who else could go after him, now?

"You don't know that.." No. She didn't. But what else could she say back?

"Yeah, you're right. I just don't know or can't expect anything else to jump at any elsewhat.." She admitted back again when she was running out of ideas."But would you rather die here or take a risk out there?"

"It's a risk either way, all right? Not for you, anymore, but for me it is. I am the one who suffers the consecquences here. Nobody else. And especially when this whole thing blows up to my face." Well at least, he was right about that. Cause the old Vincent would have had certainly had taken all resbonsibility over his own actions. Not even her or anybody else but him. But she was willing to make him remember that he wasn't just standing on his own. She was also a risk to go through and especially when she had been caught up lying to an federal agent on record and even if Gabe believed he could make miracles, it just wouldn't last long enough. And to watch Vincent bleeding out of his blood wasn't making things easier either and giving himself up from living. It just wasn't fair to the people who still cared about him just like she still does here.

And even if she could still try to deny it. As long her heartbeat was stready and functionning, she couldn't lie herself to it.

"So, that's it, you're just letting yourself die? Everything I've done for you, or everything we've done for each other just ends?" All the sacrifices she've made up for him were not as much worth as they've were to be? After all, it was because of her that he was still alive and not caught up by his own makers. Unlike before. Therefore she should be the one to whom, he should be gratefull and delighted back to still have her around to secure him in hard times. Even if she felt like he wanted to push her out with anger and disgust.

He should thank her for still be able to safe his own life. His own ass. Even if she didn't really wanted to. But it was a feeling that just couldn't go away.

"What did we do all that for? No future, seriously? You can't use fear for an excuse to risk on your life. And since I can't keep onto saving you, you need to start on saving yourself or else they might gonna find you. Dead or alive, Vincent." She had explained when he blinked up at that matter. He could not always be able to run away or else someone else would find him out, dead or alive. And if so, whose gonna be able to protect J.T. or Tori? Catherine had always known how to protect herself and even if it mean for a couple years, his past could always track her down. If a smart person was willing to dig that far and to connect her to him.

"And like I've said; even if we've had broken up, it won't be that easy to erase all the feelings that I had and still care about you as well. If you say that you're willing to take care of all responsibilities that you once had..I'm willing too." She declared back when he snickered back at that remark. Good. The thought that he could still laugh made her think that he could get safe care after all. If he didn't backed away from medical help.

"That's why you've decided to show up here and without your gun or your.." His words stopped in realization as Cat felt his eyes travel to her midsection but only to realize that she wasn't wearing her badge anymore, and proudly as she used to be before she had found him onto the wanted warehouse. She avoided his look as she looked away and closed up her eyes. Hoping that she wasn't letting any stupid tears fall."Sheild." Vincent looked back up at her, concerned and startled when his eyes looked back at her own tired one when she managed to open them up and to look back up at him.

He looked worried for her as if the man she used to love once had never left her for before.

"What happened, Catherine? What did you do?" He asked as he tried to straighten himself from the leather chair but held himself back down when his injured side reminded him that he still was in deep shit. As if he still could care about her. After the mess he had put her through. Even if he did looked concerned here and let all the anger walk away, for a second. Even if Cat wanted to unleash out all her angry out, she did not to. Let him hear out and well of all the pain he made her feel, lately.

"Nothing." She lied back with a shrug but it didn't much convinced Vincent as he held his injured side even harder and squeezed the towel to keep it from bleeding out.

"Don't lie to me. I know you've done something here. Just tell me." He urged back an answer when she rolled up her eyes and ran her fingers through her hair."Catherine-"

"What have I done? You've said?" She had cut him back and with a saddened snicker when he groaned in pain for a short answer but nodded."Like you said about you taking care of your actions. Like I've decided to take care of my own responsibilities and got caught up for it. For paying my own consequences as well. And guess what? It costed my own freedom, Vincent. For covering and lying for you. Even if you told me not to.." There was it. She had said it. Needed to make her heart scream and right in front of his stunned features. As if he had an hard time to digest it and to still think that she was risking and putting her life ontio the line and for him. A woman who was willing to keep him safe and even if it meant to sacrifice her own life and for him. Hoping it was enough to express her love for him and whatever it was left for it, if Vincent could ever think about it. Or that the thought had ever come up into him when he had been busy into kissing someone else's lips when Cat had been the one who had watched him play around with her heart. He didn't deserved her at all as much Reynolds wanted to get him away from her, Vincent couldn't step away from Catherine. He hadn't had the strenght to overcome a such strong love that she had offered him with all her heart.

And yet, he felt so overwhelming with the declaration of love and sacrifice that she had done to him, lately. He shook back his head and clutched his eyes shut, in pain but not the pain coming up from his wound. But to feel the love she was poring and screaming out for him. His heart was accerlerating and beating hard, through his ribcage.

Maybe. Maybe, one day.

You'd go and ask them for the life they've taken away from you.

Maybe. Maybe, one day.

So that I can keep on dreaming on, about the two of us.

"Catherine, I-" He tried to speak out after he managed to come up to her sight when she turned around to see him, with her tired eyes until a sudden noise or more like a door opened right back that had interrupted their conversation here. The two of them whirled around at the noise and had seen that it was actually, Tori who just had bursted in with large steps despite her five inch heels as her curly and long red hair bounced back through the air. The red haired woman looked back at them with a disgusted frown onto her face.

But, did she looked worried and pissed here which had seemed to be for the both of them that she had gotten herself back onto trouble. Once again.

"Someone else knows about beasts.." Tori had bursted out for a short answer, which it meant that somebody else has known about beasts. Much to Cat's own nightmare when an pained and frustrated Vincent turned back to look up at her. As his own looks was telling an so "Told you so." meaning.

The nightmare was far from being over.

...

"Tori, open me up! Open up the damn door!" Cat kept on slamming onto the door after the female beast had locked her up inside of the secret cave, and to where it most contained the very last secret of the late Curt Windsor's own personal keeping and from what she and Tori had drove up to the lost store antique, Chelsea Curios. Which had nothing special or prestigious to view arond unless it was well hidden away.

Until the secret cave which she got herself locked into.

"Tori, let me out!" She'd done nothing better than to yell over, again. Didn't she had ever experienced on how she'd been afraid of small spaces, once? Maybe once or twice at work, but it was such a longtime ago now. After, Tori explained that she had unleashed out to get over at the lawyers who had known about her father's beast existence and forced her to sign papers of an antique store that was unknown at her memory and to which the Windsor had never stated to before, unless he had left all details onto his own will. If anything had to happen to him, Tori would have known from the start only if any responsible lawyer of his own had presented her with his will.

Which they hadn't, at all. After all, they've threatened her to kill her when she've kept on asking questions. And beasted out before she had blurred them off away. Nice try, girl. Not only she had a few assassins after her, but they might get themselves after Vincent and herself. Cat groaned back as she kept on knocking onto the door. She decided to come over with Tori but not without Vincent who had been nothing but of an hothead when he stated that he was going after them . People like hired hunters and even at his worst state and from the way he looked to be, he wouldn't last onto a combat. Not much and to the way he wasn't getting any better when he was bleeding out which gave Cat no other choice but to shot him, again.

With J.T.'s traq gun, this time and to which he didn't gave her much choice again. Vincent was afraid to let himself be exposed and even going to a hospital, wasn't an option, but to find and attack hired assassins, it just was okay to him? Get real, big guy. He wouldn't last much. And came to the point when the two women had come face to face with the hunters, who were ready to kill them. Mostly, Catherine who came alone and without any gun or sheild which it surprised Vincent went looked up at her, with stupeficion and especially after she had told him that she had lost her freedom for lying and covering up for him, when she shouldn't have had done. But she did do it any other way. With love, even if he didn't felt over her, anymore.

And got trapped up inside of that cave after Tori had locked up with the eyescanning program, which had lead everything onto darkness. From what Cat had feared to be when she stepped back away and touched the first wall behind her, through the darkness as she kept looking up around her surroundings, blindly. Calm down, Cat. Calm down and think. The place is not as small as you think it is. And maybe not as much smaller than she thought it would have been. She've taken out her phone and put on her flashlight to be able to look around at the place and to her left aside lead up to a short hallway and up to another place. Another room which it intringued Cat's curiousity as she walked up to the hallway and turned over to see what was hidden into there. In the other room, where a long dark cloth was covering a bizarre and long and curling form and to her shocking eyes had revealed a skeleton when she'd gotten rid of it. An old and ancient skeleton.

A real skeleton through the bones and head and whose empty expressions felt like she or he had yelled out onto pure agony, for maybe the very last time when death had come up along to his way. Leaning down like it had been an animal or a beast? Catherine just stood upright when her sight onto the shocking form. And probably a beast, though. Just why the hell, it had occured to Windsor to keep such an monstrous thing into the antique store and why for? So he could study it? Wanting to know more about beasts, when he first invested into Murfield from many years ago?

Unless, he had origins from beasts and almost believed to have been one of them, a couple of centuries?

Don't be silly, Catherine. There's no such thing if beasts had excisted through ages before. No, it couldn't. She kept on watching up closer with her phone's flashing light as she moved it around and slowly when she had came accross something and under the skeleton. Where lead up to a collar. The very one who that could fit an huge pitbull's large neck. That scary enough? Just how strong that collar could have had fit onto a dog's neck or a human's own neck as well. Just how sick Windsor had been thinking? Putting himself to these experiences and knowing how it would affect Tori's life as well? If anything was connected to beasts, in anyways. If it connected to Vincent's and to her own life as well.

"Hurry, Vincent's hurt!" Cat got startled up when Tori's sudden and worried voice had interrupted her reverie. What? Vincent was in here? But how? Last time, she managed to traq him down and yet he still had come up o the rescue?

"Vincent?" Cat had asked back when she whirled around to see an startled Tori who'd just opened up the door and quickened up a nod when she urged her up to come out of the cave and leaving the hauntened skeleton alone into the cave. She walked out from the door to see an very pale Vincent who half laid down onto the floor and with Tori who walked around behind and crounched down behind him holding his back his shoulder as he breathed heavily and sorely. He was running out of time and might not make it for another night. Which it deeply worried Catherine when she looked down on him, concerned but was unable to move or to even crouch down in front of him or even telling him that everything was gonna be okay. No. She couldn't do it. It would be unfair to play or even giving flat hopes to her her heart.

No. It was over between them.

"He saved me." Tori had responsed back in a rush when she whirled around to face her as Cat could figured out. He saved her from the hired assassins that lounged around the antique store. Dead and by a beast's own killing. Vincent's, who looked like he was about to lay down onto the floor or even lose counsciouness from blood loss. Ready to fade away. To die and yet something through his expression, Vincent didn't felt like he wanted to, cause to Catherine's understanding. He seemed like he wanted to hold on onto living. Like he wanted to live, desesparetly.

But it'll have to be without her, this time. Cause she didn't wanted to put her own beating heart into risk and especially, after he did chose a different path than being with her. It was much a wasting game to put her hopes at risk because of his past promises. She needed to go away.

"What do I do?" Tori had asked as she felt like panicking over when Vincent, only just breathed out one briefly answer as he closed his eyes by holding onto the pain as he held his bleeding side.

"Call, Nine-One-One." Better get over it, already. After all, he didn't have much of a choice either way. It was either living or dying.

"I got it." Cat nodded back, firmly at him like it had been an order and dialed up the three numbers to the phone and put on onto her ear. Her eyes never left Vincent's woirsening state as he breathed deeply and ached up with a hard moan."A man's been shot. Sent an ambulance over to 521 Chambers Street. Please hurry." She hung up back, as quiet as she could when the red haired woman was on the edge on losing her nerves, here.

"What do I tell the ambulance, when it gets here?" Kiss my ass, if I care. Little bitch, Cat had almost added back for an short answer. After all, Tori was the one who stole her boyfriend away and had put him up into danger, which it almost made him do the irreparable thing from losing up his humanity. It was her own fault and would have to face the consecquences of her own actions, someday. Let this little bitch handle this on her own and without any help from her or from her dead father who may be burning deep down into hell. However, Cat didn't say any of that. She was too gracious for exploding and wasted enough anger over the man who had let her down by choosing his beast side. Instead, she tried to explain back to the worried and confused red haired woman here.

"Tell them the truth. Tell them that they've tried to kill you. Say that they've wanted to take the store." Cat had explained up and back down to Vincent who kept on watching her as he tried to recollect his breathing and sweating like crazy as if he was preparing for the worse to come. Like she was willing to expose him here. Which she couldn't have done or had the guts to do or so.

"Say Vincent saved you." Like he had done many years before when nobody had believed her, but might as well believe Tori's own story and from the way Vincent was into no condition of ever flying away soon. Like he had before, when he had left her alone into the woods. She wasn't so sure of whatever was gonna happen to him, but hopefully everything would turned out to be okay for him. Because, he had suffered enough already and deserved nothing else but peace from this time from now.

And even if it meant to be with someone else instead just like she would also take same path as well.

Ah, my love, I know..

I know you will come,

There, you will go crazy.

Ah, let's leave and far away from here, together.

Before we miss the train of our lifetime.

"Say that Vincent saved you.." She whispered back not too loud enough but she had known that Vincent had heard her from where he held on onto the living and as much he could. He mouthed and send a message, that only it meant to be for her. 'Thank you.' And he closed back his eyes when he shivered through his bones and with the fever that made him through an living hell. Just let him be okay. He suffered enough.

She watched him with a tiny and sad smile before she decided to leave the store but under the afternoon's light. The light's own path which meant to be the path of freedom. Freedom she longed to seek out and seduced to get on onto it. By moving foreword. It was sad, but she finally had managed to do it and even if it torn up her heart to leave Vincent onto the dark and uncertain of what he might choose up to be under the darkness's path.

...

"I see that someone here has dressed up herself and quite lovely, I can say.." A male voice had been heard from Catherine's own ears through the loud crowd of the bar hanging around. She peaked up at her left side when she noticed a certain A.D.A walking over through the crowd to join her up here.

"Are trying to turn yourself onto Evan? He used these nice compliments to get over my feet, before." Catherine had almost chuckled back as she took a sip of her red wine from her glass when Gabe had seated down onto the stool and right at her left side after dropped his suit coat and decided to loosen up his blue tie. Make himself feel a little comfortable. The man wasn't anything close up to the late Evan, but he had known how to please a woman.

"Who knows maybe. I used to get my own few shots before when I was popular." Gabe had smiled back and put his elbows onto the table when he signed up at the barmaid."Bourbon onto a glass and without ice, please."

"Bourbon? Since, when you've started to drink?. Mister, the A.D.A?" She had teased him back at his own manners when he shrugged off with a short chuckle as if the compliment had pleased him. She watching him looking back at her appereance from to her heel to her own hazel eyes. And from the way, she curled up her hair into loose curls and chose up her best red lipstick.

"A longtime before we've meet. And I meant when I've said you look gorgeous, you know? Purple seems to fit you, here." Gabe had kept onto complimenting her onto her attirance here, tonight even if he looked tired but so was she.

"Why, thank you.." She appreciated the nice compliment from Gabe. For this very late evening after enduring such hard day with hired hunters and federal agents who had tried to prosecute her, she definally needed a tiny break and the way she had left things with Vincent lying alone into that antique store with bleeding heavily, it did marked her up big. But she definally needed sometime alone and away. Even if it meant to change up and take warm bath before she decided to drag herself here wearing up an sleeveless and purplish V top and changed up her jeans onto a sexy dark pants that she've kept up onto her closet until now. Fixed up her hair into loose curly locks, and when she dragged herself out from home and went onto the IL Cantuccio's side of the bar to take some time to think on her own for the rest of the night.

"You're alright?" Gabe's voice had alerted her as she shook up her head and waved back her hand as she took a sip from her glass and cleared up her throat after the sip went down.

"Define 'alright'. I don't even know what am I suppose to feel-"

"He's gonna be okay.." Gabe's assuring voice had her jumped her up, startled. She turned back to him when he thanked the barmaid for the drink. "I also had a hard day, too so, I might as well take a good shot." He murmured to himself.

"What?" But Cat's attention still focused up back to the original point here when she heard him sigh in defeat.

"Vincent's gonna be alright. Everything went just fine at the sugery, but the doctor had told me that they would keep him under sedatives in order to let himself recover from the blood loss and to make sure he doesn't develop any infection for forty eight hours. But other than that he's strong to go through it." Gabe took a good swallow of his drink and winced back at the strong liquor before he exhaled and after he turned around to face her." I know it's a little scary to absorb all this, Catherine. I know. But he's gonna be okay." He pursed his lips with a firm line but it was enough for her to rassure herself and with the way she had left him before and alone at the antique store with Tori. Free as a bird but worried even.

"You know where they've put him in?"

"Last time, I've heard, he was into ICU. The doctor told me they'll keep in there to check him for the next two days and that no visitors were allowed until then. They'll put him somewhere else when he gets better." And hopefully into a private room, until he would finally come out on his own.

"So, I believe Tori didn't liked that part, uh?" Knowning the red haired woman wouldn't want to leave Vincent alone after what had happened. She would want to be the very first person to whom Vincent would wake up. Catherine was certain of it.

"Nope. And I believe that she has way more other problems to go through with. Even trying to reach up her father's real lawyers, this time." Gabe had resumed her the short story. "So, I've decided to help her up a bit."

"And who did you find?" It caught her up her attention.

"From the most expensive firm throughout Manathan, Chahal & Arora Law. Attorney, Natalia Varkolova. She usually focus up onto these money problems. I've talked to her on the phone and told me she'll come up and help out Tori with her father's will. To speak out with everything she needs to know. Which includes the antique store and to make sure if Windsor had actually wanted to sell everything."

"Good." That was another problem that might can get fixed but due to her tone, it didn't left Gabe numb as he noticed something else here. Pelicuar, maybe.

"Something tells me that you know more, than it seems. Do you know something else here?"

"Call me strange, but what if Windsor's only reason for selling was to hide or to get rid of something, pelicuar?" She suggested back as she looked down onto her drink when the ex-hauntened A.D.A demanded to know more.

"What do you mean?" And when he did, she whirled around to look up at him with a frown onto her features.

"When Tori had locked me up into the cave, I did my own little discovery and found myself along with something that I couldn't even believe it might been true, for a start."

"Just what are you trying to say, Catherine?" Gabe had cut her down in the middle when she made up a frown to his face and took out her phone from her pocket and slid it down onto the bar counter under his questionning stare.

"I've taken a few pictures and I can tell you they were pretty horrifying as you can see them." Catherine pushed her phone closer to Gabe's watching eye as he finally decided to go through the taken photos she had managed to take while she'd been trapped up onto the cave. She watched his expression changing up from intriguing onto horror as he kept shaking his head as if he couldn't believe it, at all."We might need to come up with a good story to cover up. Cause knowning J.T., he would want to study it." Catherine had stated back as she took up a sip from her glass and brought it back down.

"Oh my God.." That point. She could agreed with it as she nodded back to his expression and loss of words.

"I know. That's what I've thought as well when I've had first seen it. I just couldn't believe it. Windsor had kept it from who knows just how long, anyways. A skeleton hidden into the closet.."

"It must been a beast.." Gabe had stated back for certain as his dark eyes concentrated onto the pictures with attention as she could observed with attention.

"How can you be so sure?"

"There's no mistake to that. It was definally, a beast, Catherine and knowning how Windsor had invested into Murfield. It must had been for something personal, or else he would have gotten rid of it already. No. Wait a minute." The A.D.A. pushed back her phone to her side as he took another sip from his drink as another idea had come up to his mind. "Vincent did told us that Windsor felt threatened for a while and wanted to get rid of anything bad as he had tried to protect Tori, which he couldn't hold her from everything. I think he tried to get rid of anything that reminded him of becoming a beast. A mistake over becoming one. However, he didn't trusted the right people. Despite being surrounded by hired bodyguards."

"Afraid of getting caught.." Cat tried to understand as she ran her fingers through her hair to bring away from her eyes.

"Must be or else he must have been interested of how species creatures were made, and like you said; knowning J.T., he would want to know everything about these researches from Windsor and that includes the skeleton's discovery." Gabe admitted back.

"A beast skeleton, you said." It was real then. Windsor must have hidden a real beast skeleton which had attracked these lawyers into faking an law firm and used Tori as leverage in order to get their hands onto it. Maybe having the red haired woman beasting wasn't such a bad idea after all, even if it did brought them a lot of trouble ahead of them, though. It had intrigued them. Vincent had been right. Even with Murfield anfd her father being caught up onto justice, there might be other enemies around who might know about beasts and includding him as well from the army's experiment that had gone wrong.

"I'm sure it is and from the way it looks through the pictures. I think it must have been one and a very ancient one coming up through the bones, here." Gabe sounded surprised much like she must have been. What else could it intrigued her, ever more? She had known about beasts's own existence, however not much if it come along from a long heritage if that was ever possible to believe. But if J.T. took a little look onto it, he might know the answers and after all, he had been the one who had also studied and hidden Vincent away from many years and learnt a lot about beasts's existence than she ever had done.

"But anyways, I didn't come up here to tell you my way of thinking about beasts, but I can tell you that Hendricks would not be a problem to you, anymore.." Gabe felt her eyes looking back at him with supcision when he gulped as he tried to hide himself into his drink. And knowning how sturborn Catherine would have had been if she had heard that she was being under surveillance after someone with an higher propriety had tried to walk through her own place. It would've have had made her angry and even if another colleague tried to protected her from a certain distance. Even if Ciccottelli didn't played alone as he had brought up his playfull partner with him to keep an eye onto the federal agent who didn't looked much convinced by her own story before when she had gotten herself under caught. When he figured out that she had lied to him and gotten her suspended. Because of her loyalty towards Vincent's own private space and his own life kept under hidden, which it might change if he ever was discovered in public and if he wanted to come out foreword.

"Excuse-me?"

"Look. How can I explain this, uh.." The A.D.A. struggled with his words as he exchanged a weird look towards Cat who looked surprised but not angry. Thank God."Right after you've left, I've asked Ciccottelli to keep an eye to the agent as I stated him that knowning how sturborn Hendricks looked out to be. I didn't wanted him to do anything tricky and especially after he brought up the bullet proof to the stastion and had accused you of shooting someome we both know." He watched her eyes going huge as he had stated back that he had send a cop to watch over a federal agent, until the real results of the bullets would come out. If Cat was able to keep onto her word, then Hendricks would have to do as well. But to Gabe's surprise, Cat didn't strongly attacked or kicked him out of the place when she should've had done in the first place. Instead, she continued to listen to him.

"And?"

"Ciccottelli had told me that Hendricks had tried to come through to your place and without a warrant." Gabe had admitted back with a firm smile. While Cat tried to adjust the truth right here as she turned her attention around to her drink for a second. Oh Crap.

"Oh God." Cat looked back at the playpool billard where both stood an very focusing Ciccottelli who tried to score while Romano who watched his partner playing at the pool like a slowpoke, with an annoyed frown."But he didn't got inside, right?" But to her surprise, Gabe shook his head as he almost bursted out a chuckle when he recalled back the events that made him want to laugh.

"Don't worry about that. Hendricks had barely had got the time to come in when Nick Romano's scary and big beasts dogs started to show up and were howling up like mad and frightened Hendricks up hard so that he would keep his hands away from you for a while. You see, Ciccottelli got along with Romano and they both went along onto the plan. Well, it was mostly, Romano's plan to scare Hendricks away. Like I said, Hendricks won't bother you for the until, he'll get the bullet matched up to your gun." Well. It was the last thing they've have to think about till she was proven innocent.

"I'll be surprised if it didn't get fit up to it. No bullet can lie about it and with Vincent's blood onto it. I sure know, that I wouldn't get away from it and neither would Vincent." Catherine had sobered back up to it when Gabe had objected onto it. When he had observed her.

"You don't know that."

"Oh. I do know. And you wanna know something else?" She had added up back to him as he shook up his head, intrigued."I got invited onto Ciccottelli's Christmas party at his own home, next month." That was a surprise when an old friend had come around with his partner and asked her out to hang out if she had nothing else to do than having some delicious pasta and turkey for supper at the twenty fifth day of december along with his wife, an journalist who worked up with Beth, her high school friend, at the very same paper work,National Metro News. His own five year old boy and his very traditional but mordernized italian mother who've had raised him alone for almost thirty years and without having his mobster dad along the way. Which Cat couldn't helped but to accept it back his offer. Maybe, because she didn't wanted to stay alone at her place. Or letting her mind go insane. Unlike three months ago, when she was looking through heaven and hell to get Vincent back without even thinking about the consecquences.

Or more like Ciccottelli felt so guity onto acting from her back as he sorta of invited her into his place for christmas in order for her to not be alone or maybe recollecting amends after the mess he and his partner had made her endure three months ago. Unlike other macho detectives used to be around her and Tess, before.

"That's great. Good for you to get around other people than having to deal with beasts and hunters or from your father for a while. And with Vincent as well." Gabe had enjoyed these new news for her. It actually illumated him up to see that she would be focusing onto something else than having to deal with someone that would make her life miserable. Which she had agreed back, but was it enough to make it happen? Cannot heal a broken heart in a day. It just can't.

"It'll help me out to get out of loneliness and from having to stare out at the fire escape or at the rooftop for a while. It'll help out my heart to heal from the pain of being broken." Catherine had admitted back as Gabe understood but couldn't help but to ask this question, though.

"You think, your sister won't come back for Christmas? Even for one day, though?" Wouldn't Heather be able to come back? Even if it meant to be on Christmas Day? Catherine wasn't so sure, anyways.

"I wouldn't think so." She shook up her head. "And besides, Heather looked far too happy with this job and being in Florida for the time being. Trust me, the less she knows about Vincent and I or more about beasts, it'll be for the better. I don't want her to put her through that mess, anymore than I have to deal with. I guess it's better that she stays away from here for the meantime." And knowing Heather, she'll stick around but not as much long as she would and Cat wouldn't want her to interrupt her job over there to just come around for a short time. If her little sister was happy out there in miami, it'll be better for her to stay away from the mess that their mother had done cause Cat would know for sure that if anything else had happened to her sibbling, she wouldn't be able to survive it and even if Vincent was at fault to it, she wouldn't able to forgive him if it ever happened and now that he chosed his beast side. It'd be even worse to bare.

"I feel bad for you here. I wish I could say something back to you?" Gabe tried to say something nice when she just shook her head and took a swallow from her wine but she spit it out.

"Like getting a few drinks, like we're doing right here?" She had followed up back with a teasing wink right at him which made him blush. And made him grimace when he had realized how weird his words must have had sounded when he had been looking up onto something more than he had realized before. And to what his words made her release a small smile onto her face when he tried to hide his features away as he looked almost shy to them.

"Sorry. It wasn't my attention to make you feel uncomfortable on doing something you aren't ready to do with someone else, and especially when you have a hard time after breaking-up with Vincent."

"It might take some time for my heart to get over Vincent, even when I feel like I might never can." A lifetime even, if she could lied to herself.

"Maybe. One day. You'll be ready to move on. You didn't had it easy with Vincent, at first." Gabe had reminded her back as he took a sip from his drink. Someday. It was a such hard word to believe and to achieve, lately to Catherine.

"Just like it did happen, with Tyler?" She had asked back about his late girlfriend and the one he almost had betrayed for the fearless female detective here. She watched him giving a nod to this statement.

"Yes. In the very similiar way. I have to say." Gabe had recalled back hardened memories. His face sobered when he thought back onto the memories with the blond scientist woman and to whom he'd spend and admired her from a longtime ago, till she was gone."She had known the risks and still went on to be with me. Even if it was for the last time." Which she must have had known. Just like Catherine had accepted that her own life had completely changed right after she had seen Vincent from the moment at that warehouse and from where they felt like they've alone against the world and through everybody that had wanted to separate them. It was a sacrifice, that Catherine couldn't possibly forget and especially with whatever would be coming to her next. And mostly, for Vincent with whatever decision he would chose up the very net day or whatever, people might be able to trace him and herself back into hunting trouble, once again. Would she ever be ready to face that again? And even without having Vincent by her side? Or will her heart ever be ready to re-love somebody ever again?

"Gabe?"

"Umm?"

"Think, that I would ever get better?" Her voice tone had almost broke as she spoke back to him or more like to herself when she looked down onto her half empty more like her heart would ever get better after losing the very first man who had made her feel alive and worthwhile. Strong enough to wake up each morning and walk onto life. He may now be gone from her life, now.

To whom she'll be able to look for?

"I don't know about that and I wish I could be the first person to find the right words to help you out. But I'm not the one to decide for you, Catherine. It's only on your terms." Gabe had no other better answer than that and wished he had known better to help her out. But couldn't."It's only for you to decide whenever you'll be ready to decide onto moving on." Would she ever be able to move on and especially with the state of how she'd had left Vincent alone and without any help. She looked up back at the very first man whom she could trust ever since he've had tricked her with his beast manners and come up with the first question that she was dying to ask and hopefully if he won't make fun of it.

"Gabe, would you be able to do something for me?" It was a risk, but anyways she went along with the question.

"It depends." He looked down onto his drink and decided to take another sip, until she decided to go through it with her gut.

"Can I go and to see Vincent, at the hospital?" She blurted out out of nowhere and to which it made Gabe choked up down his sip. He gave himself a few punches to his chest and coughed out hoping to still be able to catch up with his breath.

"You what?"

"I know it's crazy, about what I've asked here. But you've talked about how it's gonna be onto my terms of being able to move on from Vincent. So, I'm asking you if I can see him." Damn, she couldn't believed out the words had easily come up from her mouth. It sounded so easily amazingly and as if she hadn't never walked up away from Vincent, at all.

"When?" He asked back or more like his face looked like she was out of her mind here.

"I don't know. As soon as possible.." Catherine took another sip from her glass and pushed back to the barmaid as she demanded a refill and turned to see Gabe astounished."Tomorrow. Maybe." However Gabe shook his head, still looking disbelieved. More, like he was still surprised when he blinked twice back his eyes.

"But you're not a cop for the meantime and Vincent can't have any visitors until he's been cleared off any risk here. Doctors, wouldn't allow me to let you visit him and Tori would probably get mad if she catches you slidding off there before she'll get access.." But Cat waved back through her word.

"I know that. But I wouldn't be able to move on if I don't get to see him for the last time and to make sure if he's okay. That's all I want." She begged back to the A.D.A. as he tried not to sweat up here. Not sure if it was from the bourbon drink or the way she'd made him feel uncomfortable here.

"You can tell the doctors that a female detective went along with the procedure when hospitals sent a report when someone is shot to the cops. Or, I-I-I can be the cop who might help the officers onto it or tell them that I work for you. Any explaination would do, Gabe. Please?" Oops. Cat hadn't been able to catch with her words at this point. She almost did forgot that she had been suspended by a federal agent for lying under record and from being suspected of ever hiding an an very important evidence away which made her realize how serious Vincent's had been and was at fatal as he tried to hide himself away. And somehow, he ended up realizing that she was taking big risks for protecting him even if they've just broken up away. Still, he had known that she wasn't willing onto letting fade or die away from any second.

"You're still under checking, Cat..I have to remind you here.." Which Gabe had remind her back again. And of course, nurses would want to ask her about an important identification and cameras wouldn't certain lie to it. The bullet match would certainly come up into a day or two, but Cat wanted to make sure if Vincent was alright and then she'll come foreword if she wanted to remain silent or not. And even if Hendricks had tried to burst into her appartement or not.

"Come on.." She wasn't going backward from her word as Gabe took it as a sign when he furrowed his eyebrows into a serious expression. He had known how strongly she had and still had feelings over the beast man which he couldn't help but to ask.

"It really means a lot to you. Doesn't it?" His eyes darkened up through her pleading hazel ones.

"It does. I just need to make sure that Vincent is doing okay, and I'll go onto my own way for good." She admitted back being almost certain. She might not be one hundred percent sure, but it was a risk to take either way. Making sure that Vincent would be okay and not only for herself but for J.T. as well. Tess had texted her back when she drove back home to change that she was gonna stay with J.T. for the night until tomorrow morning. Not because she felt like she needed to tto watch over him but to make sure, that he wouldn't do anything else stupid. Like stealing a bone marrow, if Vincent needed a new one and especially when his friend wouldn't be ever ready to forgive her for what she had done to Vincent's sake like shooting him. She'd feel like she was not only losing an boyfriend, but a friend as well and a precious bond they've had formed up during the mission of rescuing Vincent back for three months.

"I'll try, but I can't promise anything." Gabe looked away as he sighed back with defeat as much he didn't wanted to make it happen. It seemed harder for him to keep onto the lying part. Hard even to keep onto going. He made a frowning face as he scratched his dark and unrolling up hair."I can come up with a plan like convincing Vincent's doctor onto letting you inside the ICU, for a short time and maybe be able to push Tori away with her father's real lawyer. So, it'll give you a few minutes for you to see Vincent. But I'm not sure if it's gonna work, Catherine. There might be cameras everywhere around. Think you'll be able to go through that?"

"I'll be quiet and quick." She had assured him when she received back her new filled up glass back onto her front. Her glance hadn't never left Gabe's."I wouldn't want to put you to any more trouble than I've had done, before." Which it made him chuckle through his breath as Gabe locked his eyes towards hers as he pushed his half empty drink back to the barmaid.

"What trouble? You hadn't caused any trouble when I had meet you, Catherine. But if it means that'll probably help you to get over Vincent. Then, I'll do it and without any hesitation, although. You can count onto that." Damn, that guy never stayed angry for too long. He wanted to make sure she'll get whatever it makes happy. And they say that men may get angry and violent, but they usually forget for some short time and demand to be forgiven. However, it was a total different way for women. When a woman gets angry, it can last up enough for a very longtime which Cat might never be able to forgive, Vincent mostly.

And if she never finds the strength to it, then she prayed to God to help her through that process to let her be able to forgive Vincent and maybe herself as well.

...

And Gabe had kept onto his word from first thing on the early morning, when he and a tall dark haired woman with a sillouette of an ancient ballerina that wored a dark taillor suit as she held onto a suitcase with a warm smile. Natalia Varkolova had managed to take care of Tori when the red haired female beast had been hesitant to move away from the waiting room of the hospital that she waited up from last night just to see him while Cat had been sharing a few red wine glasses with Gabe. What a total ex and bitched girlfriend she'd turned out to be. But she needed comfort and help and friends. And if she had stayed at home, she would have done nothing better than to stare at the fire escape or at standing at the rooftop at such cold air like it had been yesterday.

Good thing, an great and old partner like Ciccottelli had asked her to come at his place at Christmas Day, so it'll probably change her ideas for a while and stopping to think about loneliness that might eat her hard, one day. And because of a man. A beast man which it held her heart so hard as it had been for today even. Would she be able to get over Vincent, even if it meant to be on one day? She wasn't so sure.

Cat stood up on the corner as she watched the dark haired woman leaving with the red haired woman exiting up into another place as Gabe came accross to an passing ER resident and spoke out briefly. Which she would have wanted to know more about their discussion as they both were talking and as Gabe pointed back her direction where two officers in uniform were coming along to his way as they were to stand at his side when the doctor finally made a nod move with his head, irritated and seemed to be defeated up, before he turned around and walked away.

Cat jumped out at the sudden sound and vibrating of her phone and which she took it out fronm her leathered coat and to check up that she had texting mail. She sweeped out to se who was it over and realized that Gabe had texted her in a few seconds. "I told the doctor that you were my assistant and needed so he'll let you in through the ICU, while I'll be making up the shooting report under my hold. Doc, had only gave me five minutes and for you to see Vincent. So make it quick before Tori shows up again..Fifth floor that Vincent is put in under the John Doe name. I don't think you'll miss it." Catherine managed to sigh back in relief and texted back to Gabe as she thanked him for the effort he had made up. Even if it meant for work only, Cat needed to see Vincent one last time before she'll be able to move on and say goodbye. Wouldn't she be able to get over him? Maybe never.

She looked up to see Gabe giving her a nod and headed up for the elevator.

...

Ah, my love, I know..

I know you will come,

Catherine breathed deep through her nostrils when she watched him slept onto his bed through the window and when she felt her own eyes starting to burn with tears. Vincent looked like he was sleeping and looked at peace despite being hooked up onto a few wires here and one that included his own heartbeat being watched under surveillance and monitored closely. Much as his chest rose up deeply and slowly underneath his hospital gown. Gabe had told her that the doctors might kept him under sedatives for the next forty eight hours, until he'd show no signs of infections or even worse that she could ever wonder. He's gonna be alright.

However, she wanted to make sure that he was doing perfectly alright before making other choices coming up for her future to be and that might be without Vincent. Wouldn't she ever stop onto loving him? She wasn't so sure. Cat managed to make a few steps inside of Vincent's room and breathed deeply as she watched him sleep through the heart monitor machine sound from the background. She watched him breathe as normal as he shown and as peaceful as he looked like. If so, than why did she had a such hard time of letting him go? Maybe, because you still love him, dummy. That's why. And these feelings can't just go away in a day.

It just couldn't. Oh God. Please. Help her. Please help me.. She blinked up and turned her head over behind her back, hopefully nobody were around. Not a nurse or a doctor would show up and shoo her out. She turned back to Vincent's sleeping and quiet form as she grabbed his unmoving hand which rested up down onto his side and down onto her front which she sat down onto the left stool at his right side and looked over at his rested features.

There, you will go crazy.

Ah, let's leave and far away from here, together.

Before we miss the train of our lifetime.

"My normal is..It's when I'm with you..Even if it won't be with you, anymore.." Catherine breathed back the words she held on hard and coming up from her heart. Those words when she first had confessed her love to him when he wanted to run away after killing Joe's brother and the way they'exchanged their first kiss which had been such a bittersweet moment for them both. She brought up his hand close up to her cheek and leaned as he held her, for one wishing second to be. Damn, these stupid tears. Stop from falling. Just stop as she clutchered them up shut.

"You may not remember this, Vincent, but you were the very first person who made me feel normal and loved for who I am today and that's something that I would never be able to forget. I'll never be able to forget the love that we've both shared even if you don't believe it anymore, but to which I would always will." She blinked back up her vision when she fought herself hard to not let herself cry and not in front of him. No. Even if she wanted to. She needed to be strong enough to move on and to let him be happy with whatever desicion or partner he'll chose up next to be or to deal with.

"My only instinct is always gonna be to protect you and love you even.." His words had hauntened her back from deep down of her mind when they've celebrated their anniversary together under on her rooftop and filled up by guilding lights. It was the best anniversary ever to remember to which she'll always want to treasure it, forever. It made her release a such saddening smile through that memory as she slowly approached to Vincent's lying form and leaned down onto his heating up forehead to drop a single and last kiss.

A last goodbye kiss.

"I wish for you the best and hopefully, you'll be happy without me being around.." She spoke out throught to his ear and leaned her forehead onto his own."I love you, Vincent. I'll never be able to forget that. Ever." She brought up her free hand to his cheek as her fingers were carressing up his cheek and to where her tears had finally started to fall over. That was it. It is a goodbye. She gave him one last kiss before she pushed her back away when her eyes were flickering by trying to stop the tears.

She couldn't stay very long over here to watch him sleep, but she did whispered something that deep down from her heart ached to say. Her eyes clutchered up shut and tight as she ran her fingers through her hair bangs.

"Goodbye, Vincent." And turned away by reaching up to the exit and as fast as her legs could have done or she might as well suffer from another wreching up period to come and wouldn't be able to leave him alone or wouldn't ever be able to move on. But she loved him Did loved him and it was a feeling that she might not be able to forget. Might never be.

Ah, let's leave and far away from here, together.

Before we miss the train of our lifetime.

...

Two days later, Vincent fluttered and slowly opened up his eyes through the afternoon's sunlight's hightlights as he tried to move around onto his bed, feeling almost completly numb through any touch. And as he cleared up his through which made him release a grunt. Much as his own hearing heard an annoying background heartbeating monitor machine and IV stuck and taped down onto his uper arm. Oh Crap. He was lying up onto a bed with wires all being hooked up to him and felt something strange holding up through his midsection where his own wound rested up. Bandaged up all around his midsection and to where he could feel the pain at bay. He had surgery and blood transfusion. He groaned back as he pushed his head backward to the cushions, cursing up to himself.

Crap. He found himself into an hospital bed. Which meant he was locked up here into the hospital where the ambulance that Cat hat had called had sent him up here. Into this private room.

And to which he saw Tori being all snuggled with a dark blanket as she was seated up to a chair, waking up from a nap.

But no sign of Catherine, anywhere here. Not if he wished about but still held onto hope but he had known better. Which it did left him disappointed, or more deceived. But he should have known better to think that she had left him, already. But for how long exactly, already? Well, you kinda wished that she still hanged out here and not Tori, man. Too much to hope for, he managed to breathe down when his vision had finally started to clear up here.

"Hey.." Tori's soft voice was heard from a few meters away as he managed to take a few deep breaths back.

"Hey.." Damn. His vocal cords sounded awfull and kinda felt still drunk. Must be from the anesthesia effects.

"How are you feeling?" She asked back as she got rid of the blank and stood up by stretching herself up from having to sit for almost a very longtime here and besides his side.

"Ooph..Like crap.." Ouch as he he winced back at the numbing wound when he almost chuckled up for answer. Damn, he looked vulnerable and helpless lying onto that bed. However, Tori stood up from the chair and walked to his side as she took up the plastic cup with water and gave it up to him.

"However, you're gonna be okay. Doctors had taken you away from ICU after your fever dropped down and shown up no sign of infection." Sign of infection. How? What the hell had happened after he was rushed up here? The last thing he had heard it was a female and familiar voice who had whispered back to his ear, but who? And it wasn't Tori, but a deep female voice.

"Infection? Into ICU? How long I was stuck up, in there?" He claimed he had no memory of any of it. And from the way he got transfired to the closest hospital, he'd had already lost consciousness until he woked up here into this isolated room with the red haired woman.

However, it wasn't Tori's voice he had heard before through his slumber state, but another woman's voice. But Vincent didn't wanted to tell Tori that deep down he had known the woman who had visited him while he still slept. Catherine.

"Two days. They've kept you under mild sedatives in order for you to recover, Vincent. But I'm glad you went through it and just fine." The red haired woman smiled softly. "I've asked them to bring you into a private room, until you'll wake up onto your own accord." Oh boy. It must have been such an rollercoster and to hear that he had been close up into develop an infection, because of the hesitation and the fear of ever getting caught, and exposed out. Nearly to die from it and because of his own stupidity. And onto thinking he could handle as he used to be a doctor and even worse, he almost put J.T. into jail after he did told him to go and to steal blood and meds. Oh Crap. Damn it. What a stupid beast you have come to be.

"Do they know who I am?" If it had been two days he'd been held up here, someone must have taken his identity. Just like he had assumed to believe when he took a a sip from his water cup when Tori nodded back.

"They will..Cops took your fingerprints and they'll-"Pressure charges over him? Stating that he was more than he is despite clinging up onto a name that was barely familiar to him. Or more like Catherine had managed to denounce him to the authorities after all, he made her suffer for choosing a side that she didn't wanted and had costed their relationship.

"Okay. I've gotta go.." He tried to sit back up as he almost dropped down the cup if Tori hadn't sat down onto the bed and pushed him back onto the comformy pillows as she took the cup away. In this state, where would he had gone himself to?

"Hang on. Wait a minute.." Tori stopped him when he tried to sit up straightened onto his bed as he moaned in pain and held up his bandaged wound. With his eyes closed as he breathed deeply."Are you sure, you wanna do this way? Your way, when it almost killed you?" Well, it almost did when he did tried to hide away after Cat had shot him.

"Tori, we've been through this..I can't or won't be exposed..You know that.." He growled back at her face. When she was the very first one who made him chose this unforgiving path along with her. However, Tori tried to remain calm as she kept on talking on more. She did looked like she had done a lot of thinking lately. An idea, mostly.

"I know, but it's like you've said. Everything has changed then why not this too?" Her face sobered up as she tried to understand his fear and mostly, now that he was alone."I know that you're afraid and so am I, but you've got nothing to be ashamed of. And nothing to appolegize for, but you've got a great story to tell." She smiled back softly.

"What are you talking about, Tori?" He was trying to figure out what the female beast was trying to say through her confusing revealation.

"I've been doing a lot of thinking, lately and precisely after I've talked to my father's real lawyer onto selling up the antique store, and I've come with an idea about the whole thing here and about you. You know while you've slept." She sighed back to his not trusting face here as if he didn't wanted to get caught up onto her act like it had happened when she had let him into thinking that killing Reynolds and running away like thieves had been a better idea. What a spoild brat. The only thing that it scared him, it was to be found out as a exposed man with some screwed up DNA.

"Vincent Keller. War hero. Nobody has to know about our secret and they won't. I'm sure we can do this, Vincent. Together and by staying together." What the heck was she trying to prove? To push him into a lion's den? What would happen, if other people than Murfield would have had figured out to track him down? If he went out publically?

"You can't be sure of that..Don't hold onto promises you can't keep Tori. Not everything is certain." He warned her around about that point. If he went out public, he'll have to watch out with whom and to which person he'll have to go and search for. One word, could change everything.

"True, but do you have a better a idea, here? Either, you come on board here and now or you'll could always stay into the dark, Vincent. Do I have to remind you that it almost killed you?" She pushed herself back as she brought up her knee close onto touching his."By staying up with Catherine, and the very first person that almost had gotten you killed, in the first place?" It just startled him as his eyes lifted up onto the red haired woman when Catherine's name was brought up as the person who had almost killed him. Which it almost made his heatbeat stop through the monitor machine. It strucked Vincent a nerve here to hear Tori insult Catherine and even if she wasn't here to defend him, he felt the need to put the woman right back onto her place. Even if he wanted her to shut up here. Hadn't she forgotten that not only Cat had tried to cover up for him but for the red haired woman as well? And especially, when Tori strangled the bomber to death because of an uncontrolling adrenaline?

"Maybe, because she was the first one who told me to be realistic and that siding up with an uncontrolling and avenging beast, had almost gotten myself killed after I did chose up a path with a woman like you was a such bad idea, you know?" Vincent had stated back with a glare that could kill a person as Tori stepped back into disbelief and had almost lost up her footing up here from the bed. He sure as hell was just as angry when he heard her insult Catherine. His blood who ran down into his veins and from the newest ones he had gained from recovering had finally decided to boil him up a bit. Kicking him all the adrenaline into a very waking up alert.

"Why, don't you go and get a doctor to talk up about my chances of ever be able to get me out of here and then, we'll discuss about exposing me up to the public. The kind of a hero figure you want to make profit of. Shall we?" He mocked her back as his eyebrows knotted back together into frustration as the red haired woman stood up brutally and from the sneering coming up from his voice tone. Tori may have had the control onto his beast's vulnerable state but not to his heart. One only one person had managed to come in and this person wasn't no longer here to support him anymore. If Catherine had been right into something it was the fact that he needed to start onto saving himself and protecting himself from predators such like any vicious beasts like Tori who was at loss of words just like she had pretended to be when he had first meet her. And how she messed up things between Cat and himself.

"Vincent-"

"Tori, just go!" He had startled her off when she tried to explain back. She stood up shocked at his reaction and from the way his shoulders were broadening up and with the way his fists had tighten up their hold, it was frightenening. He needed to be alone and away from her in the meantime and before if he wanted to come out to the front. At any cost if he ever wanted to be exposed and for real. When it been almost evelen years he'd been into hiding. It scared him to come out to the front as well when he needed to prepare himself if they were other people who might as well be looikng around for him, this time.

Angered by his own mixed emotions, Vincent shifted up his eyes to the red haired woman who ran back her fingers through her unrolling hair locks and whirled around by walking up to the exit as she opened up the door and left him alone. Alone with his own thoughts as he leaned back down onto the cushions when he tried to slow down his heartbeat which had began to accelerate when he raised up his voice towads Tori. She really tried to make him feel good and tried to find a way to make amends from the way she'd been acting up lately from her selfish actions when she forced him to go beast or wasn't she? Maybe like she wanted to keep him all for herself?

Don't be stupid. After all the circus would be over, people would be focusing up onto other things as for you, you'll soon disappear into dust. Vincent wasn't so sure as he closed up his eyes and tried to take deep breaths in and out. But whatever choices had been left for him, to do or so? He needed to come out to the front, or if he doesn't Catherine's life would be under question. He had noticed the last time when she had walked up into the Club with no badge and no gun. Which meant that she got herself suspended and had probably been caught up lying. All that because, she wanted to protect him from being discovered by anybody. She had known him better than anyone and didn't wanted anybody to find him, because she wanted to keep him safe and far away from any danger. And because, she still loved him and to which a strong feeling like that, just couldn't vanish up away with a snapping of two fingers.

Vincent couldn't possibly be able to erase these strong feelings he still has Catherine and neither would these memories he'd had spent with her from his past life, they wouldn't be able to disappear because of their feeling and the way it brings up emotion to it. He might never will and even if he had the strength, Vincent had known that he wouldn't be able to overcome them. It was just too damn painful to forget them. Her. Catherine. Oh God. Vincent was shaking up his heasd as he tried to drift himself back to sleep when he felt some strange pressure through his closed up palm. He blinked himself shaken as his fist was releasing up the pressure and took a peek from his open up palm. It was a piece of a torn up paper.

Vincent made sure that nobody or Tori were at the door or at the hallway and turned back to the piece of paper as he slowly started to unfold it with shaken fingers. Which had caught up his breath. His heart had almost skipped up a beat as his own eyes looked like they were close to watering up. Maybe, he wasn't such as a cold hearted and beast killer, after all. Maybe, there was a man with a good heart that Cat had often told him a few months away before he was taken away from her father. A man who could feel and express love, despite what he had been going through. It was Catherine and she did left him one last note to him and probably she was saying goodbye to him. A piece of paper onto his hand while she had been there before she fleed away.

Ah, my love, I know..

I know you will come,

There, you will go crazy.

Ah, let's leave and far away from here, together.

Before we miss the train of our lifetime.

"My normal is..It's when I'm with you..Even if it won't be with you, anymore..Goodbye, Vincent. Wish you all the best and to be happy..I would always love you. Catherine." It was written up from Catherine's delicate and messy signature and from the way, it linked him up into her voice when he had thought he had been dreaming when he had heard her voice and to feel her kiss and from the way her tears fell onto his forehead. Not it wasn't a dream. It had been real. He breathed into that realization and close to collapse into shaken sobs. Vincent was no man who dared to show up his feelings or his tears, but for today and only for today, he felt like his own heart was shattering up into pieces much as Catherine's own heart had been breaking into pieces when she told him that everything between them were over. Their own love had been destroyed from the night when he had made up that dreadfull choice.

"Goodbye, Catherine.." He whispered back to himself as he closed up his eyes shut and tight. And laid down alone as he clutchered up the piece of paper onto his fist and held it up to his lips as if he had kissed her one last time or wished he could have had the chance.

Maybe. Maybe, one day.

Knowing you would keep on living, so that I can live onto loving you.

Maybe. Maybe, one day.

...

Alright, there it was. It was a hard oneshot to write and through that episode when VinCat had broken up and for real this time on S2. "Don't die on me." Where you've had reading up Cat when she was struggling up to keep Vincent away from exposure and coming along as she got caught onto lying on record. And even if I didn't liked Gabe as much, I was glad that he stood up for her when she needed help. And kinda had wished he stucked around not as a love interest but as a friend if he hadn't became up to be such an asshole at the end.

Even Tori, was a little bit over off and even when she tried to prove herself at the end, when she was a character that a few people loved to hate. Myself included..Haha! I've kinda made up a few characters like Ciccottelli and Romano who had appeared at the third one-shot here so that Cat would know that she wouldn't be left up alone and coming up from a wrenchfull break-up and mostly, wouldn't want to be mopping around alone by watching up close up at the isolated fire escape, left up alone. So, I've made up the idea that she might get herself invited onto a Christmas party at one of her colleague's party. But knowing Cat and Vincent, they've had found themselves back after a few episodes and went back together in love and far more stronger than they used to be. Which I was glad rto see, before the series had ended after season four.

It was after listening up to a greek song for a very longtime that had got caught up into my mind. It's on youtube, anyways. It's called, Isos.(Maybe) By Giannis Vardis. Which you've must had read up here onto its translation in english and from the way it explained Vincent and Catherine's sad breaking up from the last events coming up from "Man or Beast." episode and from the way it left things up broken. You could almost hear the singer's voice crying out his pain over it. Which it did reminded me of VinCat's breaking up and from the way Cat had sacrificed her freedom to Vincent, even if she could have had walked away from it, and Vincent would have had felt overwhelmed over her choices, her own sacrifices and love which he wouldn't be able to forget anytime soon. Or dared even after she had left him. Somehow, I kinda wished he did expressed some gratitude over her for saving him onto the show.

Thank you again, beasties for supporting and dealing up with my bitchy whining of being alone here. Don't worry, the next one-shot is gonna be way more happy than this one had been here, but I needed to get it out of my chest, or else I would have gone up crazy!

Anyways. Thank you for supporting this chap and love you for sticking up here with me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! See you soon!
