Celebrimbor reflects on the fate of the Eldar while facing his own doom.

Celebrimbor returns from the Halls of Mandos, to be greeted by Finrod, Galadriel, Elrond, Celebrían and Orodreth, and travels to Tol Eressëa to meet Maglor, Frodo and Bilbo. And then a long-awaited ship arrives. [Return to Aman series 12 : follows 'Among the Ainur and Other Animals']

There is a downside to everything, Aman is no exception. Once Celebrimbor thought he would be glad to be rid of his fathers family, now he just misses them.

"We are not the same, child of Melian, you were born of love and trust and I? I was born of hate and envy." She is not supposed to exist, she knows this as she knows the darkness that withers within herself. She is not supposed to exist, and yet, her father laughed in the face of Eru and created her anyway. She is not supposed to exist, and she is not sure she wants to.

Man of Steel suggests forged, tempered -like a weapon. But a weapon as much of Morgoth as Feanor. A guardian at the Door of Night.

"He would have her at last, once all he had loved less than her broke and died around him."

Maglor meets Nimloth of Doriath, and is surprised. Elrond and Bilbo go to Valimar, and meet Ingwion, leader of the Vanyar Host from the War of Wrath, Indis and Melian. Nerdanel and Lalwen [Irime] in Tol Eressëa at the start of the Fourth Age, discussing kinslaying, family, art and history, are joined by Galadriel who has recently returned from Middle-earth after the Ban of the Valar that prevented her from returning was finally lifted. They eat cake and discuss Gil-galad's parentage. Later, Nerdanel makes a decision.

Elwing has been caught up in the light of the Silmaril for three days now; Elrond is concerned and Elros, as always, is reckless. Or: Elros cuts his hair on impulse and Elrond doesn't know what to say. Oneshot, no pairings, no Elwing-bashing.
