Hermione's POV:
"So you're a witch." Sam stated.
"So you're a shape shifter." I returned.
We both laughed as we continued walking. We stopped at where I was standing before Billy took me over to hear the stories.
"I wanted to tell you, but I could only tell my blood family and even then I only told my mum, dad, uncle and cousin. Every time I was here it took all my self-control not to tell you. If I had known you were all connected to the magical world I could've told you much sooner. When I found out Billy knew because his cousin was apart of it, I wasn't able to come because I would've been putting everyone here in danger." I ranted.
"It's alright, we can't tell anyone about our secret. I didn't even know witches and wizards existed until today, so they don't know about us." He returned.
"If you can't tell anyone about your secret, why did I find out?" I asked.
"You special." He commented.
"You didn't even know about what I am before the elders told me." I breathed.
"A different special." He clarified.
"In what way?" I wondered.
"The story of the third wife. The tribe leader of the time found his soulmate in her. We call it imprinting. It's like gravity doesn't hold you to the Earth, she does. You'd do anything for her, be anything for her. A brother, friend, shoulder to cry on or... or a lover. If one of us imprints on a person that person cannot come to harm from another of the pack." Sam explained.
"You sound like you've experienced it." I murmured, my heart slightly breaking because I have had a crush on him since I was young.
"I have. It happened to me today in fact." He responded.
"Who is she?" I questioned with a slight quiver in my voice.
"She used to have wild curly hair before it was tamed down, loves to read books, when to a boarding school for really talented people, has warm chocolate brown eye and I have been in love with her since I was thirteen." He told me.
"She sounds very special, you're lucky to have her." I whispered.
"She's incredibly special. Do you know who I'm talking about?" He returned.
"I don't." I breath, willing myself not to cry.
"It's you, Hermione. I have been in love with you since I was thirteen, when you went away after your visits I would cry for a week because I missed you so much. When I changed, I found myself wanting to be with you more than ever." Sam confessed.
For the first time in my life, I was speechless. The person I have been in love with since we were both thirteen felt the same. Not only that but I'm his soulmate and he is mine. I felt the tears leave my eyes but not because I was sad, because I was happy.
"I have been in love with you since we were thirteen, but I never thought you would ever feel the same. When I left after my visits, I would be in a bad mood for a month and cry for half of the month because I was away from you. During the last two years when I couldn't visit, it was torture for me, because all I wanted was a hug from you, to just be near you and I couldn't have it." I shared.
"Why couldn't you visit?" He questioned.
"We will talk about that later." I answered.
"What do you want us to be? You have the choice it's up to you because no matter what I won't be able to love anyone else. And as the alpha our bond is stronger than the others and their possible imprint." He said.
"You're the alpha?" I asked.
"Yes and if you accept the imprint, once I mark you, you will be the alpha female." He replied.
I looked into his eyes and knew he was telling me the truth. I have always been able to tell if he was lying to me by looking into his eyes, same with the others. I wrapped my arms around his neck and brought his face closer to mine.
"I love you and I just want to be with you. I accept the imprint." I murmured.
I closed the distance between us and connected out lips. He pulled me closer if possible and wrapped his arms around my waist. Soon enough oxygen became needed, and our lips parted. He rested his forehead against mine.
"I love you too." He whispered.
"Should we head back?" I inquired.
"I don't want to, but we should." He answered.
"Let's go." I said. I grabbed his hand and pulled him with me as we walked back to the group.
"Already love birds are we?" Paul teased.
"I would like to remind you that I am a witch Paul, and I would also like to tell you that I have been on the front lines of many fights and won them. I could kick your arse in two minutes or less." I said in a deadly tone.
"On the fount line of many fights? What has happened since you became a part of the wizarding world?" Billy wondered.
"Did Sirius tell you anything about the time when he went to school?" I returned.
"He said there was a madman trying to take over the magical and normal world." He answered.
"What he told you was the truth. After he left school, he and some of his friend joined the Order of the Phoenix. They were an organisation formed to stop the madman known as Voldemort. In 1981 he was stopped but a child lost his parents because they were murdered and his godfather because he was wrongfully accused." I started.
"That poor boy." Sue whispered.
"Voldemort was only stopped temporarily. In 1991 Harry Potter found out he was a wizard and the most famous person in our world. He is one of best friends. Every year we face Voldemort in some way or another. In third year we met Sirius and he told us the truth of what really happened when Voldemort killed Harry's parents.
In fifth year he was planting visions in Harry's mind through a mind link. These visions caused him a great deal of pain and it hurt to see it. One day one of the visions showed Sirius being tortured and Harry, our other best friend Ron and I along with three others went to rescue him. It was a trap for Harry because Voldemort wanted something, and he didn't want to get it himself. There were Death Eater waiting for us, they are what Voldemort called his followers. We fought for a long time with and without magic. A lot of us were injured, I have a nasty scare that runs across my stomach. Sirius didn't make it, his cousin killed him, and he fell through the veil meaning that we couldn't even bury his body. Harry became depressed, a lot of us did. He made us laugh even in the dark times.
The next year we dealt with a lot of crap and at the end of the year our Headmaster was murdered, and Harry watched it happen. We couldn't return for seventh year because Harry, Ron and I were the most wanted people in the world. We spent a year going around England looking for the abominations Voldemort used to make himself immortal and destroy them so we could kill him. One of the last two was at the school and the other would be coming with its master.
The final battle broke out and lasted days. None of us slept, we lost friends, family, no one was safe because an idiot had a thirst for power and would stop at nothing. In the early morning on May 2nd Harry and Voldemort faced off and Harry won. We were finally safe but at what cost? I lost my parents, Harry lost the last father figure he had, and Ron lost a brother but the brother that died was a twin and George was devastated when he saw Fred amongst the dead. A piece of all of us died that night. Teddy, my godson was left an orphan just like Harry except he was barely six months old. Teddy was lucky where Harry wasn't. He was left with magic hating people, who abused him and used him as a servant. Teddy has his grandma, me and Harry his godfather, he has people who love him. It's been over a year and I still sometimes of nightmares. War is never nice and this one, no both of them, were worse than world war 1 and 2 and the civil war combined." I told them.
"You're a warrior. You stood and fought for the good side, and you won. You will be an amazing alpha female for the tribe and pack." Old Quil stated.
"Thank you." I said.
"No offence, but how are you still alive?" Embry asked.
"Sheer force of will. Knowing that there was someone I wanted to see again after everything was over." I answered.
"If it was over a year ago, how come you didn't visit than?" Jared wondered.
"We had Death Eaters to round up and I wanted to finish school. I didn't want to leave before I finished because I knew I wouldn't want to go back. I mean I'll visit, but something inside me was telling me that I wouldn't want to leave here." I replied.
"I hope it was me you wanted to see." Sam commented.
"Of course it was." I responded.
"Hey!" The others exclaimed.
"I wanted to see the rest of you as well, but mostly I just wanted a hug from Sam." I explained.
"Well, at least she's honest." Jacob stated.
"One of my best quality's you will soon not want to forget, I can be brutal with it sometimes. Just a warning." I shared.
"I'm gonna like having you around. I need another female around." Sue announced.
"Happy I could help." I said.
Sam's POV:
I can't believe Hermione is my imprint, my mate, my soulmate. Towards the end of the bonfire she fell asleep leaning against me. The jetlag must have finally caught up with her.
"I'm gonna take her home." I whispered.
"Drive safe." Billy advised.
I carefully lifted Mione up without waking her and started walking through the patch of forest to reach my car. When I reached the car, I placed her on the back seat of the car and put her seatbelt on somehow without waking her up. I called Charlie to let him know I was bringing her home and appoligised for keeping her out so late. When we arrived Charlie and Bella met us on the porch.
"I'm so sorry we lost track of time and then she fell asleep, and I didn't want to wake her." I appoligised again.
"It's alright." He breathed.
"I'll take her up to her room." I murmured.
"Up the stairs and take a right." Bella told me.
I took her inside and headed up to her room. Bella followed me up to Mione's room and pulled the covers down on her bed. I put her down softly and kissed her forehead before leaving her room.
I was just about out her door when I heard her mumble, "No, stay."
"I can't." I whispered.
"Stay please." She murmured.
"I will ask dad for you." Bella said.
"Okay." I breathed.
Bella quickly went downstairs to ask Charlie and when she came back she told me he was okay with it.
"Okay, I'll stay." I told my half-asleep girlfriend.
"Mm, good." She mumbled.
I walked around to the other side of the bed and pulled the covers down before laying down beside her. As soon as I was comfortable, Hermione turned to face me and snuggled into my chest.
"Goodnight." I whispered.
"Night." She slurred.
I kissed her on the forehead before closing my eyes and drifting into a very peaceful sleep.
