I've been so inspired by the number of stories about the Cooler episode. I've seen the clips and know my story isn't how it turns out, still wanted to share. We started officially dating two years ago, about a year after our forsaken kiss so long ago. It's been amazing—Jess is, well Jess. We are best friends, but with the benefits this time. Soul mates. I will never forget the day Jess told me she was pregnant.

Nick and Jess for the remainder of season 2

Two dates Nick Miller has at the bar with two very different girls lead him to realise he's just not the kind of guy that dates classy girls. Instead, just one girl with blue eyes and paint smudges on her nose. Nick/Jess.

"Is this a terrible mistake?" he whispers into her fruit scented hair.

Set after the episode "Cooler", Nick is left shaken after his hallway encounter with Jessica Day. Bad timing and nick's aim to restore damage he's done lead to an unfortunate, or perhaps fortunate, discovery.

Post cooler story...cuz all the cool kids are doing it. The moments between Nick and Jess that brought them to the kiss. In nicks POV

He may have initiated it...but Jess wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer. His arms roamed all over Jess's back. The kiss was clumsy, graceless and uncoordinated. Yet it was the best kiss he could remember.

So this is based off of a roleplay between nick-holas-miller. and whosthatgirlits-jess. . Slightly tweaked just to make a bit more sense. We thought it'd be a cute idea for a fanfiction - (Yes we do own this plot line) Basically, this is set in the very early stages of Nick and Jess' relationship, taking place around Christmas.
