I'm a little bit disappointed that people don't see the chapter for what it was. You'll all get it eventually. It will play out in the end. I may have to give a little nudge here though...read on readers...and beware. I'm not even close to done with this story yet.

Shadow hummed to herself while she waited for the toaster. Hearing footsteps behind her, she turned to see Foxy coming into the room staring at his hand. Snickering, Shadow leaned against the counter.

"Enjoying having a full suit again Foxy? I'm not done yet by the way. Still need to make a few minor adjustments and give you a bath. Your spare suit was absolutely covered in dust...that you happen to be trailing around my house."

Foxy chuckled.

"Sorry lass. Wanted to ask ye a question."

Shadow held up her hand when the toaster popped. Grabbing the slices out of it, she quickly slathered them both with honey before sticking them together. Taking a bite, she frowned. Walking over to the garbage can, she spit it out and tossed both slices in the trash. Foxy tilted his head.

"Are ye alright lass?"

Shadow scowled and crossed her arms.

"Fine...I think. Tasted weird and made me realize I'm not actually hungry. Usually I'm starving when I first wake up."

Foxy tapped his hook against the counter.

"Lass, that animatronic of yours...does it turn on by itself?"

Shadow looked at Foxy, trying to hide her nervousness.

"Of course not, why?"

Foxy shrugged.

"Thought I saw it move while ye were sleeping this morning. It twitched a few times."

Shadow frowned.

"That's not possible. The only person who can turn that thing on is me, and I was asleep. You sure you weren't seeing things?"

Foxy twisted his hook a few times.

"Aye lass, it's a possibility. I've seen a few things not true when I'm just started up. Are ye ever gonna show me how it works? I've been in a room with it all week lass, and it's making me curious."

Shadow sighed and leaned back against the counter.

"You gotta promise not to freak out, and promise not to tell the others. Not yet."

Foxy narrowed his eyes.

"I don't like the sounds of this lass. Why would I freak out over an animatronic movin' about when I be one of them meself?"

Shadow sighed again.

"This one's a bit special Foxy. It doesn't have a normal power source. Just...ugh. It's hard to explain. Okay. Um. Well, you know how I have some...abilities, right Foxy? Well, one of the things Nightmare taught me how to do was bind my soul to an object other than my body, which is where that animatronic comes in. It has no power source because I'm the power source."

Foxy stared at Shadow.

"Maybe ye should go back to sleep lass. Are ye feeling alright?"

Shadow scowled.

"Fine, you don't believe me? Catch."

With that, Shadow closed her eyes and Foxy yelped and darted forward to catch her as she went limp. When Foxy noticed she wasn't breathing anymore, he panicked and brought her to the couch, lying her down.

"Lass, can ye hear me? Are ye alright? Shadow!"

"You don't have to yell y'know."

At the sound of Shadow's voice from behind him, Foxy's head swiveled to look down the hallway. There stood the animatronic, golden eyes glowing warmly.

"I'm glad you caught me. Would have had one hell of a headache later otherwise."

Foxy stared at her and blinked. She waved, and he just lifted his eyepatch and blinked again. Shadow rolled her eyes.

"Earth to Foxy, you there? Look, I'm alright. I can go back and forth."

The animatronic slumped, glow leaving its eyes as Shadow opened hers up on the couch, sitting up and taking the shocked fox's paw.

"See? I'm alive, everything's alright. Thanks to some things I can't tell you yet, I'm perfectly safe to be doing that. Here."

She pulled Foxy's paw to her chest, where he could feel her breathing and her heart beating. With a relieved sigh the fox pulled her into a hug, nuzzling her shoulder.

"Don't scare me like that lass. Yer gonna give this old sea dog a critical systems failure. Ye saved me from the scrapyard, but at this rate, yer just gonna send me right back there."

Shadow snickered.

"Don't tell Freddy and the others yet. I want it to be a surprise."

Foxy gestured behind Shadow.

"Speaking of surprises, were ye expecting the black devil?"

Shadow frowned and turned around to see the portal swirling by the TV.

"Uuuhhh...nope. But it's gotta be for a good reason, right?"

When both Nightmare and Fredbear came through, Shadow raised an eyebrow.

"Oookay. I can see Nighmare leaving your realm to come see me, but both of you? Something's really gotta be up for that."

Nightmare chuckled.

"Why, we are coming to work with you tonight little one."

Shadow stared blankly at the two bears.

"You're joking, right?"

Fredbear rolled his eyes.

"Unfortunately not. My brother has gotten it into his head that we must personally meet your..." Fredbear glared at Foxy. "Coworkers."

Shadow frowned.

"Be nice. They've changed. And how exactly do you two plan on coming to work with me?"

Nightmare tapped the counter.

"Why, little one, you brought us the perfect way just the other day."

Shadow snickered.

"Oh, please tell me you're joking. Or don't. This is hilarious."

Foxy scratched his chin.

"I seem to be missing some context here."

Shadow grinned.

"See, I brought them teddy bears a few days ago."

Foxy snorted.

"I see why yer amused lass."

Fredbear cleared his throat.

"Though it is humiliating, yes, we can use these bears to come with you. For lack of a better description, we will possess the bears."

Shadow raised a hand.

"Okay, hold on a second. Why not just portal in tonight?"

Nightmare and Fredbear exchanged glances.

"Well, we discovered earlier today that there is...a barrier...around the pizzeria. Beings like us cannot get in without help."

Shadow scowled.

"So what you're telling me is the entire time I thought you two had my back in case of something going wrong, you never CHECKED to make sure you could get there? And how old are you two exactly that the thought didn't even cross your minds? Are you going senile?"

Fredbear snarled.

"Do not presume to lecture us, little mortal. Do not forget we are not the mortal fools you deal with on a daily basis. Just because you are my brother's student does not mean I will not punish you for your insolence."

Nightmare placed a paw on Fredbear's shoulder.

"Easy brother. You must remember who her father is. She is not anymore a mortal than we are. By being a halfling, she is one of us."

Nightmare turned to give Shadow a look.

"Though she should remember to respect us as both her elders and her teachers."

Shadow stared at the floor and muttered a quiet sorry.

"What do ye mean, she's one of ye?"

Shadow grimaced.

"That's something I wasn't quite ready to tell you and the others yet Foxy. Basically, my mum was a mortal, and my dad's one of their kind...and no, I'm not telling you what they are. That's up to them."

"So...are ye going to live a normal life or stop aging at some point in time?"

Shadow sighed.

"I have no bloody idea Foxy. I still have a lot to learn from them."

Shadow turned to look at them, only to find the two teddies on the counter with dimly glowing eyes. Shadow just stared as they stared back.

"You do realize I'm not going to work for another 3 hours, right?"

When she didn't get a response, Shadow just threw her hands up in the air.

"Fine. Foxy, we're getting all that dust off your suit. Now where'd I put my cloth..."

A few hours later

Plushtrap climbed up onto Shadow's shoulder, Foxy trailing behind her as she picked up the two teddies off the counter.

"You guys know this is weird, right? And giving me the silent treatment isn't gonna do anything. Maybe I should 'accidentally' drop you both in a puddle."

Shadow snickered at the low growl she heard from Fredbear, carefully putting them both in her shoulder bag.

"C'mon Foxy, we're taking the shortcut again tonight. I am not trekking you through town."

With that, she grabbed his paw and pulled, and next thing he knew he was in Pirate's Cove with his sensors still trying to reorient themselves.

"I'm not listening to whatever bullshit phone call I'm getting tonight. There's no way it's anything that makes sense after last nights."

Foxy flinched.

"Aye...there be nothing on tonight's, just garbled words from whatever the lad on the phone was recording over."

Shadow grinned.

"Not a single word to Freddy and the others, I wanna see their reactions when Nightmare and Fredbear decide to come out of the toys."

Foxy chuckled.

"Can't be any worse than me trying to pick a fight with yer mentor."

Shadow scowled.

"Yeah and waking me up...Oh, hey. The others don't know you're coming back tonight, they just know you have to be back by sometime tomorrow. Wanna give them a shock?"

Foxy chuckled again.

"Lass, they be getting enough of a shock with yer mentor and his brother. I don't think they need more than that."

Shadow sighed.

"Spoilsport."

Walking into the main room, Shadow sat down at one of the tables near the stage, placing the two bears that contained Nightmare and Fredbear on the table, Foxy settling against the wall. Plushtrap jumped onto the table and began poking the Fredbear plush with a snicker. Shadow grinned when she saw the eyes move sideways to glare at the little rabbit. The clock chimed midnight and Shadow turned to look at the stage. Freddy, Chica and Bonnie were slowly moving and stretching out their joints. Chica grinned and jumped off the stage.

"Shadow!"

Chica came towards her to give her a hug, only to stop in shock and back away as black and gold smoke swirled out of the two bears, forming the large shapes of Nightmare and Fredbear, both over either one of Shadow's shoulders. They solidified and flexed their claws with loud growls aimed at the three shocked animatronics by the stage. Chica stepped backwards with a squeak when Nightmare advanced further, towering over the trembling chicken. Shadow sighed and facepalmed.

"I really should have expected something like this."
