A/N: This works in collaboration with my other one that is currently untitled. While it is not like a following up sort of story, it will let you know why Lily's grandmother behaves the way she does (or will) towards those of magical blood.

Disclaimer: you probably know what belongs to who, so why bother?

A/N: * thinks * how to start this out, I guess I'll just start w/ a when she was younger..

When Lily's Grandmother (A/N: let's give her grandmother a name, umm we'll use Dolores) Dolores was younger, about 20 years old, she had fallen in love with a man. Not much of a big deal to most people, how ever, it was this man who changed her life forever. I know this sounds a bit dramatic, but it is the truth, you see, Dolores Rosen (A/N: maiden name) was a muggle, as she still is today.

Dolores fell in love with one of the worst types of people possible, in her opinion today, anyway. He was a wizard, and not just any wizard, but one that hated muggles as much as a person could hate muggles.

No, it was not Moldywart (Voldemort, same difference) that she fell in love with, but Charles Lewis Malfoy. (A/N: Lucius's grandfather and Draco's great grandfather, you get the picture, ok I have way too many notes, I'll try to stop)

Yes, she loved a Malfoy, which wouldn't have been too bad, because at first, he had seemed somewhat normal, but he soon found that Dolores was not a witch, as he had first thought, but a muggle, and so he became distant, torn between someone he loved and hating muggles.

Instead of just breaking off his relationship with her, he began a serious of ruthless mind games, by telling her he loved her, and then doing something to prove otherwise, such as picking up other girls when he knew she was watching.

So after many years of torture (A/N: ok only like a year) Dolores finally decided that she could no longer stand to be treated the way she was being treated by the man she loved, and left him for good. Of course, during the first few months, she had found out that her beloved Charles was a wizard, and when she asked if they were real, he had found out that she was a muggle.

Because of the way Dolores had been treated by Charles, she decided that anyone of magic was up to no good, and that she would shun (or do her best to shun) anyone or anything that had a connection to magic.

So that is why Lily's grandmother hates magical people (sorry if it didn't make sense) and Petunia hates anything not normal through osmosis (probably from living with her grandmother for so long.)

A/N: So maybe it's not Family History, though it is in a way if you read my other fic that I'm working on. But it does have something to do with lily's family, and somewhat her history, so yea... lemme know what you think and once again, I apologize if this didn't make any sense.
