Future fic. Skye, the girl who hacked her way in, becomes SHIELD's newest director. She's a little worried about her new position.

Running. For two years, that's all I've done. I don't want to, but I have to. I can't let them find me, I can't risk the lives of people I care about. So I have to run.

Simmons makes a mistake, then does her best to try and fix it. *Spoilers for episode 2x01*

Skye and Grant spend some time in the snow.

A quick peek inside Leopold Fitz's head. It's quite messy in there at the moment.

"Skye," he murmurs, her name slipping onto his tongue as if it had always been there, waiting. "I've missed you."

Inevitably, they will need him. And when they do, they'll send her. Until then, he'll wait like the good dog he is. *Contains spoilers for 2x01 and mentions of attempted suicide*

"You should have run faster." John certainly agrees. Spoilers for 2x01. Mild language. Potentially triggering themes (suicidal, self-harm).

Quinn finds Skye alone while she's infiltrating his compound in Berlin. He demands she stay with him. She suggests he sees what the inside of a prison cell looks like. One sided Skye/Ian Quinn

Tag to 2x01 "Shadows" A possible explanation for why Simmons would leave Fitz in his time of need.

"Slowly, not wanting to move too fast in case Skye got the wrong impression, she uncoiled from her spot on the bed and shuffled to the door." I am so ready for season two.

Simmons seems to have abandoned Fitz. And that pisses Ward off. Oneshot, ficlet, somewhere in the possible future post 2.01.

But Fitz was unconscious, should have been dead, and completely unable to feel the pain that he should have been in. Instead, Simmons was fully conscious and alert, and she felt every wound they'd received between the pair of them and then some. And she defiantly wasn't coping with it.

After a particularly disturbing nightmare Fitz needs reassurance that Simmons is okay. Spoilers for 1x7 "F.Z.Z.T." And the season 1 finale "Beginning of the End".

'The room is too small, all the air has been sucked from it, and in that moment, Jemma Simmons is convinced that this is where she's going to die.' Potential trigger warning: panic attacks, being trapped in small spaces.

"It's a load of bollocks. The whole notion of a soul mate is preposterous, the very belief that there's this one set person out there who is supposedly just perfect for you," pausing, Simmons looked at the man lying before her, "It's ridiculous. Isn't it?"

The thoughts of Grant Ward while he's in jail. The thoughts of the atheist who ultimately didn't take sides. Who was he really? How he was he really feeling?

Fitz is with her, in their very own lab. But he didn't escape that pod, not truly. Jemma's working right on the other side of the lab, she can see him. But even she is still treading water.

Ward screws up his third mission back with the team. Dissatisfied with Coulson's means of dealing with this infraction, Ward takes matters into his own hands. After all, he disobeyed a direct order and there have to be consequences. Future Fic. Redemption Arc ish.

Skye deals with the choices she's made and the choices that are made for her.

Three years ago Skye and Ward ran in hopes of finding a life together, leaving the team in pieces but circumstances are forcing a broken team back together and a family to ask for the help of some old friends. SEQUEL TO BROKEN DREAMS AND SILENT SCREAMS.

The last time she'd been curled up crying in a bathroom had been under completely different circumstances but just like last time it was all Grant Ward's fault.

This wasn't the first time they'd been here or the second or the third. Skye had lost count by this point. It seemed every month they found themselves here, preparing for yet another round of heartbreak.
