Chapter 2: - Barrier of Oreichalcos
I wasn't entirely sure how much worse the situation could get at the moment, Yami was trapped behind some strange power that allowed access to the Shadow Games, meaning the result of losing the Duel was probably the same. A barrier that we couldn't penetrate had appeared and Kylie's bracelet was pulsing and glowing as if it was mimicking the freaking sun… a catchphrase to describe our bad luck might be useful right around now.
"Even though ye have Magnet Valkyrion, ye shall be unable to beat a God Card!" Gurimo declared. Yami had defeated the Gods before, he could damned well do it again; also could this guy stop speaking as if he was from the Middle Ages! "Dark Obelisk, attack! Begone Magnet Valkyrion!" Gurimo commanded. Obelisk let out a cry and raised his fists into the air, I saw the fists start to shake, as if he was attempting to fight the command, but eventually God Hand Crusher was unleashed and Valkyrion shattered as a result of the attack.
Yugi – LP: 3000 – LP: 2000
"Isn't there a way to beat the powered-up Obelisk?!" Jounouchi wondered. There had to be a way to stop Obelisk and I knew that Yami would be able to figure it out; he'd got out of worse scrapes that the one he was currently stuck in, I was just very concerned about this sodding Oreichalcos card that had been summoned… I'd never even heard of such a card before now.
"Now your key card is gone. I'll end my turn," Gurimo mocked. I swallowed thickly and could only hope that Yami would be able to get whatever method he needed to defeat Obelisk quickly, especially since his Life Points wouldn't be able to take much more damage; Gurimo started to laugh before gasping in pain and staggering as he gripped his face, a moment later he shook his head as if to clear something from his mind.
"Heh, feeling the strain of God's power?!" Kylie yelled. Gurimo looked back at her as my sister continued to smirk at him, clearly enjoying the punishment he was receiving for daring to use a power that wasn't his. "Give up! Obelisk won't obey you for much longer! And when he does… well I certainly wouldn't want to be you," Kylie added on. We'd seen God's fury first hand and I could agree with Kylie's comment, the expressions on our friends' faces showed the same agreement that I felt.
"My turn!" Yami declared. He pulled a card free and looked at it before immediately activating it. "I'll activate a Magic card! Angel's Charity!" Yami declared. A rain of silver light fell down onto Yami's Deck. "With the effect of this card, I can draw three more cards and discard two cards to the Graveyard!" Yami announced. He discarded the cards before selecting another in his hand. "I'll Summon a Monster in Defence Mode! Then, set one card!" Yami decided. Phantom Beast King Gazelle was projected onto the field alongside the card. "My turn is complete," Yami finalised.
Phantom Beast King Gazelle – Attribute: Earth, Type: Beast, Level: 4, ATK/1500, DEF/1200
"It's my turn!" Gurimo announced. He had been groaning in pain and clutching his head moments before making that move, I couldn't believe these people were foolish enough to take our God Cards and even go as far as to use one despite the risks present. "I set one card on the field. Dark Obelisk, attack! God Hand Crusher!" Gurimo declared. Another attack came and Gazelle was shattered into pixels, Jounouchi cursed the event as we continued to watch nervously. "It shall happen very soon, Yugi-dono! Your soul shall be offered up to our god!" Gurimo declared.
"Offered?" Me, Kylie and Yami parroted. I did not like the sound of that word, souls were tormented at the end of a Shadow Game not some kind of offering; Gurimo explained that the loser's soul would be offered up as a sacrifice to a God and the world guided down the path of destruction in order to create a new and pure world. In response my sister threw her head back and let out a loud and angry sounding groan.
"Why do we always have to deal with the crazy people!" Kylie snapped. I could only helplessly shrug my shoulders, this man might have been even crazier than Other Marik was if he really believed the nonsense he was spouting; sure, lots of religions talked about a Judgment Day, perhaps the most famous being Ragnarök, but no one actually seemed to believe in them like this nutbar did.
"I know we've heard something like this before," Jounouchi admitted. It did actually did sound familiar now that the blonde brought it up and when his eyes widened, I guess that he recalled from where; although I was still drawing a blank. "AH! Haga and Ryuzaki!" Jounouchi exclaimed. My eyes widened as did Kylie's own as we recalled those two had been spouting similar nonsense earlier today.
"Don't tell me! Did you do anything to Haga and Ryuzaki?!" Yami demanded. A different voice confirmed this fact, I twisted my gaze up to look at the source and saw three men and two women, all dressed in dark clothing with blonde, brown and red hair for the men, pink and black for the women and all of them covering their eyes with sunglasses or goggles except for the brown haired man but I couldn't quite see them at the distance.
"You guys?! So, you were up there?!" Jounouchi yelled. He started to run to the side with Honda chasing after him but this resulted in the two nearly tumbling off of the building; in fact Jounouchi did fall which caused Honda to drop to the floor in order to grab a hold of him. "Honda! You trying to kill me?" Jounouchi yelled. I let out a sigh as I pinched the bridge of my nose and massaged it in order to relieve stress.
"Their souls are in our hands at the moment!" The blonde man answered. I spotted him folding two cards in his right hand and I narrowed my eyes into a glared. "They are the offerings for the Ancient God's revival!" He added on. Kylie's head tilted back as she looked at the five – most likely the same five who'd confronted outside the shop – anger clear on her face.
"Do you even understand the consequences of your actions?!" Kylie cried. The five turned to look at her and I saw the black haired woman's lips curl into a sneer. "The dangers associated with unsealing anything let alone a God are astronomical. Stop this insanity before you do something you'll end up regretting," Kylie insisted. Anzu had run over to help Honda get Jounouchi back up, so it left me and Kylie near the creepy barrier to support Yami.
"Enough!" Gurimo yelled. I shook my head whilst Kylie sighed, as if signalling she was done warning these people. "Be it thine turn, Yugi-dono," Gurimo stated. I hoped that Yami would be able to end this Duel on his next turn or at least free Obelisk from the creepy control of this dangerous card. "If thy does not play a Monster Card this turn, thine soul shall forever perish from this world!" Gurimo added on.
"My turn!" Yami declared. He pulled a card free from his Deck and looked at it. "Before you worry about my end, you'd better worry about yourself. I activate the Magic Card, Resurrection of the Dead! The Monster I'll revive is, Magnet Valkyrion!" Yami declared. The magnetic warrior appeared on the field and I pressed my lips together tightly, attempted to puzzle out what Yami was attempting to do by summoning this Monster back to the field.
"Sis, any clue?" I asked. Kylie just shrugged her shoulders as she continued to glare at the green barrier separating us from our friend, her bracelet had continued to pulse since Oreichalcos had descended from the sky and I was confused as to why it acted this way, combined with how it had been freaking out earlier according to Kylie and this entire scenario was the most bizarre we'd ever walked into.
"It's hopeless, hopeless. Magnet Valkyrion does not hold enough Attack Power to defeat Dark Obelisk," Gurimo mocked. Yami was likely to have some other plan up his sleeve in regard to the resurrection of this Monster, it was highly foolish of anyone to doubt any of Yami's moves no matter how strange they might seem to the onlookers.
"It's true that Dark Obelisk has absolute power. But if you hold a strength that surpasses that power… the united power of courage! I'll show you right now! I deactivate the combination of Magnet Valkyrion!" Yami declared. As a result, all three Magnet Monsters returned to the field in Attack Mode. "Next, I activate a Magic Card from my hand! Brave Attack! Go! Magnet Warriors!" Yami commanded. The three warriors were surrounded in a red aura and Alpha led the charge.
Alpha's sword slashed an attack across Obelisk's chest, a glowing wound appearing on the God as Alpha shattered into pieces with Gurimo shocked by the event; Beta was quick to follow after Alpha and struck its' head close to the slash before breaking apart. Gurimo didn't realise what was happening as he claimed it was foolish whilst turning his back on Obelisk even as a crater appeared close to the slash wound, Gurimo asked if Yami was crazy.
"Let's find out, shall we?" Yami suggested. His head position indicated that he was staring at Obelisk just like me and Kylie currently were. "Look carefully at Dark Obelisk's body!" Yami insisted. Gurimo did and he saw a spiderweb of glowing cracks curving across the God's body, obviously Gurimo was shocked and confused by the event. "I activated Brave Attack, which throws aside all fear and doubt, combining the strength of my Monsters in order to fight against the opposing Monster," Yami explained.
"So, Alpha's Attack Power is one thousand and four hundred, Beta has one thousand and seven hundred Attack Points," Jounouchi realised. Currently Obelisk had taken three thousand and one hundred points of damage with one more Magnet Warrior remaining to unleash its' attack and with Gamma possessing an Attack of one thousand and five hundred; well Obelisk was about to be destroyed.
Gamma flew forward and struck its' fist against the possessed God, a roar of pain came from Obelisk as the spiderwebbing cracks encompassed his entire body and he was promptly shattered into pieces. A wave of relief washed over me, originating from Obelisk who was glad to be freed from that dark power, Gurimo cried out in shock whilst the other three celebrated over the God's defeat.
Gurimo – LP: 2200 – LP: 2100
"It's my turn!" Gurimo declared. His eyes had started to glow a red shade and when I said eyes, I meant the entire organ, not just the pupils; unnerved I looked at Kylie who frowned deeply at the strange sight. "It be true, that Obelisk has disappeared. However, the Barrier of Oreichalcos' power has only just shown itself! Magic Card! Treasure Card of the Heavens!" Gurimo declared. He'd pulled that card from his deck and automatically activated it, allowing their hand size to swell to six cards.
The other three talked about the current situation of the Duel which wasn't a good one for Yami, he had to find a way to get rid of that blasted Barrier in order to take away that absurd power up that it afforded Gurimo's Monsters. Suddenly Yami Summoned a Monster to the field, it was Cotton Pop in Defence Mode, which explained how it had been Summoned, if moved from Deck to hand outside of the Draw Phase then Cotton Pop was automatically Special Summoned.
Cotton Pop – Attribute: Light, Type: Angel, Level: 1, ATK/200, DEF/300
"At least Yami has some protection now," Kylie admitted. I nodded my head in agreement as otherwise Yami would have been in some serious danger if Gurimo got a Monster out to attack. Gurimo wasn't impressed with the Monster due to its' weak stats and I gritted my teeth tightly together; the crazy man proceeded to Summon out Warrior Dai Grepher, who was immediately corrupted and strengthened by that damned Barrier.
Warrior Dai Grepher – Attribute: Earth, Type: Warrior, Level: 4, ATK/1700, DEF/1600
Warrior Dai Grepher – ATK/1700 – ATK/2200
"Reverse card open! Reviving Coffin of Black Magic!" Yami declared. The card rose up and the coffin that would bring out the most loyal Monster in Yami's deck appeared, causing me to grin as Kylie chuckled. "When the opponent Summons a Monster, this card is able to revive a Magician-type Monster in the Graveyard after sacrificing Monsters from both sides," Yami explained. Warrior Dai Grepher and Cotton Pop turned into light and flew towards the coffin, entering its' confines.
The coffin sealed itself up and Yami declared the return of his most loyal friend, the coffin opened once more and the Black Magician leapt forth, he looked around and seemed to be greatly confused and concerned by the seal encircling them. But apart from either of those there was the tell-tale gleam of worry shining clearly in his purple gaze; if a Magician powerful enough to have Hecate's respect was concerned then that made my hackles rise up even more out of near panic.
Black Magician – Attribute: Dark, Type: Magician, Level: 7, ATK/2500, DEF/2100
"Hecate, is there a reason you, Black Magician and the others have been so nervous when that Oreichalcos thing appeared?" I asked. My eyes had drifted to my Magic Goddess who appeared to start sweating bullets upon realising that I had caught onto the strange manner in which she was reacting; meanwhile Gurimo realised that Yami had discarded Black Magician when he activated Angel's Charity.
"Perhaps you should focus on the Duel my lady," Hecate quipped. She then proceeded to fade away and I felt like fuming at her hasty retreat and lack of answers, I focused on the Duel when Yami declared he was going to use Black Magician to defeat him on his next turn; Gurimo let out a scoff and proceeded to set a face down, that was most likely a precaution against the coming attack or a bluff to stop Yami from attacking him.
"My turn!" Yami declared. He pulled a card free and then focused his attention on the mighty magician that stood on his field. "Go! Black Magician! Direct Attack him!" Yami commanded. The Magician fired off his Black Magic attack, but Gurimo possessed superb reflexes as he swiftly activated the Instant MagicShield Wall, summoning four Shield Tokens.
Shield Tokens – Attribute: Earth, Type: Rock/Token, Level: 1, ATK/0, DEF/1000 (X4)
Shield Tokens – ATK/0 – ATK/500
One of the tokens was quickly destroyed by the attack but Yami was shocked by the appearance, it had been a surprise to have his path to victory so suddenly blocked by these Monsters, especially since it gave Gurimo plenty of time to recover. Gurimo claimed that Yami thought too little, causing all of us watching from Yami's side to scoff, before explaining what the card did even thought it was fairly obvious.
"Yugi-dono! The real power of the Oreichalcos Barrier has just been used! Magic Card, Bronze Knights, activate! This card Summons Bronze Knight Tokens for each card I discard from my hand!" Gurimo declared. His remaining face down had risen as he proceeded to get rid of three cards and got three Tokens; but the strangest things were that they appeared behind the Shield Tokens and he now had six Monsters on the field.
Bronze Knight Tokens – Attribute: Earth, Type: Warrior, Level: 1, ATK/500, DEF/500 (X3)
Bronze Knight Tokens – ATK/500 – ATK/1000
"Impossible! There are six Monsters!" Yami exclaimed. I was gaping like a fish as Kylie kept rubbing her eyes, hoping the impossible sight would change if she did it enough times; Jounouchi weighed in his own opinion of disbelief about this fact due to the rule of Duel Monsters only letting you play five Monsters or Magic/Trap cards
"It's possible!" A voice called. I looked upwards towards the five thieves who were watching us. "Within the Barrier of Oreichalcos, that is! This Barrier extends the Monster Spaces into you Magic and Trap Zone!" The blonde man explained. I felt like cursing and I think Kylie was close to it as well, Jounouchi vocalised that this meant Gurimo could have up to ten Monsters on the field at once. "Right. And if the front Monsters are not destroyed, you can't attack the Monsters in the back," The blonde man added on.
"This is a really bad sign," Kylie stated. She had a tight grip on her hair, as if contemplating ripping chunks of it free due to the stress she was feeling along with the rest of us; Yami set two cards face down and then proceeded to Summon out Queen's Knight in Defence Mode, I hoped that the two Monsters would be able to protect the ancient spirit from whatever was likely to be coming for him.
Queen's Knight – Attribute: Light, Type: Warrior, Level: 4, ATK/1500, DEF/1600
"It's my turn!" Gurimo announced. Yami took that opportunity to unleash his Trap Card, Large Dust Tornado, in an attempt to destroy Oreichalcos; the swirling blue winds spread out towards the encircling symbol as the others celebrated the move, but Kylie let out a small grunt as her left hand wrapped around her right wrist as her bracelet pulsed even stronger; suddenly the winds were violently dispersed and the Barrier of Oreichalcos was still present on the field.
"What!? The Barrier didn't disappear!" Yami exclaimed. One of the nuisances took that moment to explain the something called the Power of Oreichalcos protected the Barrier and prevented it from being destroyed in the manner that Yami had just attempted; I was fairly certain that my brain had decided to shut down any responses I might have upon hearing those words except for the slight faint feeling I had.
"This card is more annoying than Ra!" Kylie snapped. I didn't blame her in the least, Ra's effects were aggravating but this card was on a whole different level; Gurimo took the opportunity to activate a Magic Card, The Warrior Returning Alive thus allowing him to bring Warrior Dai Grepher back to the field who was corrupted once more.
"I'll activate the Continuous Magic, Allied Forces! This card is able to enhance the Attack Power of every Warrior-type by two hundred points for every Warrior and Magician-type face up on my field! There are four Warriors, thus my Monsters will gain eight hundred points!" Gurimo declared. I gritted my teeth together as the Attack Points of the Monsters went up and one managed to outstrip Black Magician's power.
Bronze Knight Tokens – ATK/1000 – ATK/1800
Warrior Dai Grepher – ATK/2200 – ATK/3000
"Be gone! Black Magician! Dai Grepher attack!" Gurimo ordered. The warrior charged forward and slashed his weapon through the Magic user, causing him to shatter into pieces as a breeze washed over Yami from the destruction; Queen's Knight was not the only thing protecting Yami and if those Bronze Knights could attack then the Pharaoh was in deep trouble.
Yugi – LP: 2000 – LP: 1500
"My attack isn't over! Now your other Monster will be killed as well!" Gurimo declared. A Bronze Knight rushed forward and I felt my breathing stop as Kylie practically turned into a statue, however Yami acted quickly as he used Sacrifice Escape to turn Queen's Knight into light and she vanished from the field. "What?!" Gurimo exclaimed. He was stunned by the sudden escape, but as for me, I pressed my lips against each other tightly since Yami was now completely exposed.
"Instant Magic! Magical Academy!" Yami declared. Hats likes those worn by people graduating from institutes of learning, flooded from the card's surface and from them emerged Black Magician Girl, I started to breathe again as Kylie moved to rub her hand over her face; both of us were relieved to see the Magical Girl on the field.
Black Magician Girl – Attribute: Dark, Type: Magician, Level: 6, ATK/2000, DEF/1700
"After the player discards two cards from their hand, this card will Summon a Monster of your choice, while adding two levels and five hundred Attack Points to that Monster!" Yami explained. That meant Black Magician Girl would receive a serious power boost thanks to Magical Academy and the presence of Black Magician in his Graveyard.
Black Magician Girl – Level: 6 – Level: 8, ATK/2000 – ATK/2800
"To think you'd offer your Monster to add Attack Points to another!" Gurimo growled. Yami revealed the other part of Black Magician Girl's power up to the man before moving on with his turn since attacking wasn't an option now, Yami needed to find a way to get rid of all those Monsters so that he could attack the controller and end this Duel; Yami drew a card and looked at it before raising the object high above his head.
"YES!" Yami cried. It must have been just the card he needed to win the Duel as he swiftly slid it into the Magic and Trap Zone. "Magic Card! Diffusing Wave, activate!" Yami declared. I let out a cheer with Kylie and the others also joining in on the celebration, that card definitely sealed Yami's victory, Black Magician Girl gathered the magical power to the tip of her wand.
Yugi – LP: 1500 – LP: 500
"Go, Black Magician Girl!" Yami ordered. The girl leapt into the air and unleashed consecutive waves of magical energy towards the opposing Monsters. "Black Burning Burst!" Yami cried. The waves of Magic washed over the field and caused a Bronze Knight to shatter into pieces, thanks to the destruction of a Monster, Gurimo's other Monsters ended up losing Attack Points as Gurimo lost Life Points too.
Gurimo – LP: 2100 – LP: 1100
Bronze Knight Tokens – ATK/1800 – ATK/1600
Warrior Dai Grepher – ATK/3000 – ATK/2800
The attacks continued to flood out and struck down another Bronze Knight which took even more attack points away from the Monsters, Diffusing Wave would keep going until all of the Monsters had been completely destroyed. At least unlike the last time Yami had used Diffusing Wave, it was necessary to use this card in order to ensure that Yami was victorious in the Duel
Bronze Knight Tokens – ATK/1600 – ATK/1400
Warrior Dai Grepher – ATK/2800 – ATK/2600
Another attack and the last of the Bronze Knights was annihilated, this left only Dai Grepher behind with his weakened stats, he wasn't even a problem for Black Magician Girl to deal with. With all the damage that Gurimo had taken from the consecutive string of attacks, his defeat was inevitable and a sickening feeling opened up in my stomach.
Warrior Dai Grepher – ATK/2600 – ATK/2400
The final attack sliced through Dai Grepher, causing him to be destroyed, Yami collapsed to his knees and Kylie ran up to the Barrier placing her hands against the force separating us from our friend. Whatever this power was, it might have been even more dangerous than the powers that normally activated a Shadow Game and that was never a good thing in my opinion.
Gurimo – LP: 1100 – LP: 0
"Ra…fa…el-sama! Th-the God Card!" Gurimo cried. He was shaking as he turned around and reached into his Duel Disk, he threw a card up to the blonde man who caught it with ease; as if it had waited for that moment, the Barrier of Oreichalcos suddenly shrunk down – allowing Kylie to reach Yami – encircling only Gurimo who started to scream as a green light shot into the sky.
Eventually the light and Barrier faded away, I ran forward and straight passed my sister and friend towards the man, I felt for his heartbeat and found it still worked but a quick scan of his mind proved one thing to me, something that terrified me. His soul was gone… just like in a Shadow Game, I stood to my feet and backed away from the body as I vaguely heard the five above us casually talking about what had transpired before deciding to leave.
"Wait!" Yami cried. This actually stopped the five as Yami and Kylie came to stand beside me. "Give the God Cards back to us!" Yami demanded. The blonde – Rafael I assumed – stated that we would have to defeat the five of them first and promised to come back to claim the soul of the Pharaoh; Jounouchi tried to start a fight with them, but the brunette claimed we'd fight soon enough, as they spoke I felt the eyes of the pink haired woman boring into me
"Enough! We should leave before the Master gets angry," The black haired woman stated. My eyebrows furrowed at that, those words implied a leader, plus they had claimed to be Musketeers earlier; the brunette introduced himself as Valon and they proceeded to leave. I let out a sigh and walked back over to the unconscious man.
"Is he dead?" Jounouchi asked. I shook my head and looked for something I'd sensed on the man; I reached a section of wood as Yami found the soul sealed inside of the Barrier's card, spotting a glow in the wood I reached down and pulled out a black chord with a green stone attached to it. I leaned as far away from the stone as possible as my magical intuition was practically screaming at the bad vibes coming off the rock.
"Uhhh… that thing gives me the creeps," Kylie complained. I nodded my head in agreement, something about this rock was setting all my nerve endings on fire with the warning to get the hell away from it; Anzu claimed it was beautiful. "Be glad you don't have magic, otherwise you wouldn't be thinking that way," Kylie commented. She had actually taken to using the brunette girl as a human shield against the object.
Yami walked over to us and took the rock from my weak grip, I madly smacked my hands against my blue skirt, hoping to wipe away the sickening feeling that stone gave me. We decided to call it a night and Kylie promised to see if she could get information out of the brain dead Haga and Ryuzaki.
*Yu-Gi-Oh*
"It's pointless, their souls are completely gone and they're just babbling nonsense," Kylie admitted. We had met up with her at the park and were currently walking through Domino City, my sister clearly unsettled by the lack of information she'd received. "To make things worse I did some research and found that people have been losing their souls across the globe," Kylie admitted. Worry creased all of our faces as we exchanged looks of concern.
"Is someone targeting Duelists to kill them or something," Jounouchi wondered. I looked over at Yugi who seemed to be the most concerned by the strange events that had been happening; he didn't deserve to be going through this kind of trouble right after finishing up the business with Other Marik, I started to reach my hand out to the boy, hoping to give him some kind of comfort.
"Hi darling!" A female voice called. I looked up and my eyes bulged out of my skull when I saw a twelve year old girl with long blonde hair and blue eyes running up to us, she wore a light blue button up shirt with a dark blue tie, a pink cardigan over this and a blue-green skirt, white socks and brown shoes. "I wanted to see you darling," The girl cried. She hugged Yugi, causing my hand to jerk back as an annoyed feeling began to bubble up within me, seeing her embracing Yugi who was shocked by the act and couldn't respond.
"Wh-who are you!?" Yugi exclaimed. I looked at the boy with a raised eyebrow before glancing at Kylie who nodded her head to confirm what I already knew from my Mana Sense; she might have looked different, but this was definitely someone that Yugi and the others had encountered before this awkward moment.
"Rebecca, please control yourself," Kylie deadpanned. Rebecca Hopkins, Kylie's protegee and an old friend, detached herself from Yugi and smiled up at my sister before bowing to her and then hugging me, I returned the embrace despite the annoyed feeling that kept pulsing through me; Yugi and the others stared in shock at the blonde as if trying to see the blonde they'd met before Battle City to the one in front of them.
"Rebecca!" They all exclaimed. Rebecca certainly looked differently, especially since she was lacking her signature bear, instead she had a pair of red framed and blue lensed glasses resting on her face, she cheerfully greeted them; Honda brought up the missing bear and Rebecca claimed she outgrew it and went on to claim that she happened to have a boyfriend, whilst hanging off of Yugi's arm; that made my annoyance burn even stronger than before.
"That's hardly the problem!" I growled. Kylie raised an eyebrow at my words or tone, Rebecca turned to look at me as I cleared my throat and hoped I was calm enough to not snap at the blonde girl. "Why are you in Japan Rebecca? I doubt it's just to see us, Arthur certainly wouldn't permit it," I stated. Arthur adored his granddaughter, but he was also protective off her which meant Arthur had to be in Japan as well, but why did he come here?
"My grandfather and Misses Chiharu want to talk to Yugi and the two of you," Rebecca admitted, gesturing to me and Kylie as she spoke. The others were probably confused by the second name that Rebecca had mentioned but my eyes and Kylie's practically dropped out of our skulls upon hearing the name that had been mentioned; that was a bombshell that I hadn't anticipated being dropped.
"Mum's here! Where!?" Me and Kylie exclaimed. Rebecca revealed they were waiting at the Egyptian exhibit at the museum, so we all took off running towards the building where everything had started yesterday, we ran down the corridors and the stairs before eventually coming upon the palette which was frozen in ice and in front of it were three people, the third one being Suguroku.
"Mum! Arthur!" Kylie called out in English. The two turned around and anyone could see me and my mother were related, standing almost as tall as Arthur, my mother had lightly tanned skin from her near continuous work in Egypt with black hair tied in a bun and the same angular brown-black eyes that I possessed, a more willow and mature figure with sharp angles making up her face; a light blue tank top, beige pants secured by a dark brown belt and brown boots made up her outfit; a single and simple band of gold looped around her left ring finger.
"Girls," Mum greeted. She walked up to us and pulled her into her arms, tightly hugging the two of us which we returned before we all pulled back and I saw her eyes immediately zero in on Yugi. "Ah, I finally meet the boy whose soul is bonded to my youngest daughter. A pleasure Muto Yugi, my name is Hope Chiharu. Arthur-san and I have something important to tell you," Mum admitted.
"Yugi-kun… no Nameless Pharaoh," Arthur stated. Yugi's eyes widened in shock at those words and none of us were any better.
