Happy Valentine's Day!
I do not own.
"What about a Valentine card?" Circe showed Beverly the one in her hand.
"No, he'll leave it on the work table." Beverly glanced up briefly.
"So what?" Circe asked.
"Oh, I took all paper out of his lab. He doesn't even have tissues in there. Fire hazard." Beverly replied rummaging through a bin.
"Ooookay." Circe decided not to ask. "How about a nice shirt?"
"No, he has a tendency to burn holes through his clothes. That's why his vest is made of flame retardant fabric." Beverly said.
"I… did not know that." Circe muttered. "Chocolates? Cologne? Tie? Stuff animal?" She suggested.
"He only likes it in mole, allergic to it, only wears clip ons, and he uses them as targets." Beverly answered.
"Okay, I give up. What are we looking for then? It seems like there's nothing that he'd like!" Circe threw her hands up in frustration.
"True." Beverly said calmly. "There is nothing he likes… nothing normal anyway. Aha!"
She pulled out an old mason jar.
"You're going to make him jam?" Circe wrinkled her nose.
"No, silly." Beverly giggled. "I'm just going to use it hold his gift. Now help me find about five more."
"Okay. You guys are strange." Circe sighed.
"I know." Beverly agreed happily.

Caesar knocked on the door to Beverly's room.
"Coming!" He heard her call out.
A second later the door slid opened. Beverly stood in a dusty pink dress with a twinkle in her eye.
"Ready to go?" Caesar asked.
"Sure, but I first have to show you something." She excitedly grabbed his arm and pulled him to his lab.
"But we finished repairing the conduit to the thermal reactor. We don't need to start on the photoconductor till tomorrow." Caesar protested.
"It's not about work." Beverly rolled her eyes. "Close your eyes!"
"You didn't wallpaper the lab, did you?" He asked nervously.
"No, you big doof. Besides, wallpaper is flammable. I would have painted it. Now close your eyes." She demanded amicably.
Caesar reluctantly did as he was told.
Beverly waved a hand in front of his face to make sure they were shut. When she was sure he couldn't see. She opened the door. Then holding his hand, she carefully lead him in.
"Okay. Open your eyes!" She said.
Caesar apprehensively opened his eyes. Then his whole demeanor changed. His mouth dropped open and his eyes widened. The lights in his lab were dimmed. Beautiful eerie lights in blue, green and violet lit up the room in their mason jars placed carefully around the room.
"How?" Caesar muttered.
"Okay, I found this thing online about making fireflies in a jar but it only lasts a few hours so I thought how can I make one that would last longer. So I looked through Becca's chemicals and found Phosphorescence she had extracted from EVOs who lived in the deepest part of the oceans before the Cure and mixed it with diamond glitter." Beverly explained. "Do you like it?"
"Sí, es muy hermosa." Caesar nodded before turning to her. "Pero eres mucho más bonita que estos."
Beverly blushed. "Well, you're not so bad looking yourself."
"Shall we go?" He offered her an arm.
"Sure thing." Beverly took his arm. "I'll put the jars away tomorrow."
"No need. I think it adds a certain elegance to the room." Caesar said.
"Really? I thought you didn't like overly decorative things. You said they were distracting." Beverly said.
"But these are scientifically decorative things and they're from you." Caesar stopped and turned to Beverly. "Thank you. I hope you like your gift." He handed her a velvet box.
"Huh?" Beverly pulled out a pair of keys.
"Let's see where they fit shall we?" Caesar opened the door to the hangar.
Beverly gasped. "Is that a… a 77?"
Caesar nodded. "Sí, recently, a drought dried up the riverbed in the next town over. They found this at the bottom with the keys in the ignition. It was still in relatively good condition except the back is a little dented. But I know how much you like restoring old cars."
"Oh, Caesar! This is perfect! Thank you so much." Beverly ran to check out her new gift. "I love it!" She beamed. "And I love you."
She wrapped her arms around his neck. He held her waist as he lowered his head to give her a kiss. When they parted, they had dreamy smiles on their faces.
"Happy Valentine's Day." He whispered.
"Happy Valentine's Day." She returned before his lips enveloped hers again.
Guess where the car is from? If you're a crazy rabid fan of Generator Rex it should sound slightly familiar. I'll give you a hint… it's from the third season.
I don't know if I'll be able to write a stand alone Valentine's Day story. I only have two days to come up with one. Don't hold your breath.
Sí, es muy hermoso. = Yes, it's very beautiful.
Pero eres mucho más bonita que estos.= But you're much prettier than these.
