I know you've all been waiting a while for this, so here it is. Finally a chapter from Robin's POV, maybe we'll see why Robin has been avoiding Regina.

Robin slammed the front door, ignoring his mother who yelled at him from the kitchen as he ran up the stairs to his room. Once inside her dropped his stuff on the chair before flopping down on the bed and staring at the ceiling. He was angry and upset and he had no idea what the hell he was going to do. She had looked so heartbroken and it had physically torn him apart to see her so sad.

It had been absolute torture for him to ignore her, he'd received all her messages, listened to the voicemails and with each one he'd felt increasingly cut up about what he was doing. He was also furious at his mother and refused to talk to her after Poppy told him what she had done to Regina the night before. He couldn't believe that she had just left her to walk home alone, anything could have happened to her. Though he couldn't really talk because he had been the one who had asked his mother to go instead of him in the first place.

His head was a mess and he didn't know what to think, sitting up he glanced at his laptop and remembered that he had a chapter of his story written and ready to be posted. It was the only way he could think of to contact Regina without actually contacting her. He stood up and perched at his desk, flipping the computer open and finding the chapter before copying it onto the website, adding an author's note at the beginning. Sure, she didn't know he was the writer, but maybe it would get through to her.

This chapter is dedicated to someone who is extremely special to me. I know that in the past couple of days I have let you down, but I just wanted to make sure that you know how amazing you are. You're so smart and anyone who has ever made you feel less than worthy is an idiot. I apologise for treating the way I have done; you deserve better than me. I know you are going to do well in life, I just wish I could be there to see you flourish.

I know you're probably reading this now and if you are, I'm sorry, so fucking sorry. I know you probably won't forgive me for what I have done, but I just wanted you to know that I had a reason to do it. I just can't tell you why. All my love. RL.

As soon as he finished writing the note, he considered deleting it, maybe it was a bad idea. He didn't want to make the situation any worse, not that he thought it could get any worse than it currently was. She probably hated him. Taking a deep breath, he shook his head, saved the chapter and pressed post. He didn't want to think about it anymore, he just wanted it out there.

He shut the lid of his laptop before moving back over to the bed and lying down, this time staring at the wall. He wondered what she might do when she read it, would she realise that it was him, that he was the author or would she maybe ignore the author's note altogether? What he was feeling felt like what it was like to wait for the reviews to come through but much worse. He had tension in his stomach.

That was what it was like when he posted a new chapter of his story, he would be nervous, eager to find out what his readers made of his work, what they thought about the different twists his writing was taking. Right now though, it felt like that but a million times worse.

He knew her username on the fanfiction website, HerRoyalHighnessTheEQ, that was her alright. He'd also been there whilst she wrote a review for his own story, telling him exactly what she was going to write. It was such a buzz to hear her compliment his work and he just wondered what she might think this time.

There was a knock at the door and Robin turned over in bed to look at the opposite side of the room. He didn't want a lecture from his mother, he wasn't in the mood to talk to her. Not right now, he knew how she felt about Regina and it annoyed him, now because of what was going on she was probably going to think that she had been right the entire time.

"Robin, can I come in please?"

He groaned and buried his face against his pillow, he didn't want to talk, he just wanted to be left alone, was that too much to ask? He didn't reply, couldn't bring himself to speak.

"Robin, I'm coming in, I hope you're decent," she sighed, pushing the door open and coming inside. He felt the bed dip at the bottom and knew that his mother had sat down there. "So would you like to tell me why you are wallowing yet or are you going to carry on keeping it to yourself and shutting everyone out?"

"I'd rather not thanks."

"It's about Regina isn't it."

"Why does it matter? You wouldn't care anyway; you don't like her, you've made that perfectly clear, even she knows it! Do you know how hurtful that is mum? She knows how much you hate her and its awful."

"You don't hate her though Robin and something is clearly wrong."

"Yeah well, whatever we had is over so…"

"She broke up with you? I told you that girl would be trouble, but did you listen to me? Of course, you didn't, because you think you know best and now you've gone and got yourself hurt. See I told you this would happen, I warned you that she was a heartbreaker!"

"She didn't break up with me! I stopped things between us, I'm the one who broke things off. We weren't even together anyway."

"What?" his mother asked, and he glanced up at her, seeing the shock on the woman's face, clearly she hadn't been expecting that answer. "Why? What did she do?"

"She didn't do anything, she's amazing. I just… I couldn't carry on seeing her."

"Why though? What possible reason could you have for…"

"It doesn't matter, I told you I didn't want to talk about it and I don't. Please can you just leave me alone, you got what you wanted, be happy about it."

"Robin, I'm not happy about this, not in the slightest."

"Why wouldn't you be?! You hated Regina virtually from the moment you met her. No girl will ever be good enough in your eyes, will she?"

"I didn't hate Regina," she sighed with a shake of the head, "I just worry. I was worried about you dating someone who was in the circles that Regina frequents. You must realise that even if Regina isn't that kind of girl, the people she spends time with and calls her friends most likely are. Regina was actually quite nice."

"Mum just leave me alone please."

"Fine, I'll have your sister bring you up some dinner when it's ready. Look, I don't know why you broke things off with Regina, why you ended your friendship, but if it had anything to do with what I thought of her, then maybe you should reconsider. I can see you're hurting and that is the last thing I wanted. Just think about it, Robin."

With that she left the room and closed the door behind her, leaving him alone with his thoughts. He wished that had been the reason, then there would have been a simple solution, he would have grovelled at Regina's feet for a second chance. If only things were so simple.

A couple of hours later and Robin was still moping, the new episode of Outlander was out but he couldn't watch it without her, it was their thing. He didn't think he would be able to ever watch it again. He was lying in bed studying, throwing himself into things that would hopefully distract him from the heartbreak he was feeling.

Suddenly the silence in the room was broken by the ringing of his phone, he darted for his bag and found it, answering without even looking at the caller ID. "Regina?"

"Guess again. I hope you weren't expecting her call."

Robin shuddered and froze to the spot at the voice he heard through the phone. "I'm doing what you wanted alright, just leave me alone!"

"I hope that's true, you see, I think you were expecting her to be calling you, why else would you answer with her name?"

"I'm staying away from her! I broke off our friendship, what more do you want from me?"

"As long as you're doing that, I don't want anything else. You better not break your word; you don't want to find out what will happen to her if you do."

"I promise, I won't have any contact with her. I've been ignoring her."

"I have realised that and she looks marvellously depressed. I love it, great work, keep it up and you have nothing to worry about."

"You really are a piece of shit you know that."

"Why thank you. Have a good night geek boy."

The line went dead and Robin had the urge to fling his phone across the room. He was pissed and absolutely miserable, they were right about one thing, he was feeling emotionally drained and he was pretty sure that Regina felt the same way. He just kept having flashes of her face when he'd bumped into her outside the library and all the other times he'd seen her throughout the day. She looked so distant, almost as though she wasn't even there, her mind was off somewhere else and it was upsetting to see her that way.

He wanted to smash something, felt the need to get out everything that was bubbling inside. He needed to get out of the house. Without another thought, he got out of bed and grabbed his workout gear. He pulled on his sweat pants and sweater before slipping his phone into his pocket and heading downstairs. It was late, he knew that, but he had to find a way to work off the thoughts and the only thing he could think of was to run until his lungs burned.

"Robin, what are you doing?" His mother asked, coming out of her room dressed in her pyjamas and hair rollers.

"I need to get out, don't worry I'll be back soon."

"You can't go out at this time, it isn't safe."

"I'm just going for a run, this is Storybrooke mum, it's fine. I'll stick to the main roads." Before she could even argue again, he had his sneakers on and was out of the door, running down the sidewalk. He started off steady before picking up the pace and running at speed down the street, concentrating on nothing but the wind whipping past him as he went.

He would normally listen to his music, but it was late and he needed to be aware of his surroundings. It just meant that he had to run a little faster to drown out his thoughts. He was reaching Regina's street when he saw her mother's car screech out of the driveway. He furrowed his eyebrows as he slowed to a halt, noticing that Regina's car wasn't there he felt a sense of dread bubble up inside him. Where the hell was she?

Without thinking he flagged down Cora and she pulled up beside him, "Robin?! Have you seen Regina?"

"What do you mean?"

"Oh god, she hasn't come home! I haven't seen her since this morning and every time I try to call her, her phone kicks straight into voicemail. Do you know where she is?"

"I have no idea, we… we haven't really talked today. This really isn't like her," he stated, worry coursing through him. They promised she would be safe if he ignored her, they said that she would be fine. "Can I come with you please?"

"Yes, of course. I was on my way to your house actually," she sighed. Robin climbed into the passenger seat, from there, he could see just how worried Cora actually was, in fact, she was nearly shaking with the anxiety she must be feeling. To be honest he wasn't far off himself.

"Like I said, I've hardly seen her at all today. I was… I."

"Robin? If there is something you need to tell me just say it."

"I was avoiding her today. She'd messaged me and I didn't respond, I feel awful. She was so upset and… this is all my fault! What if something happened to her? It would be my fault! You don't… you don't think she could have hurt herself, do you?"

"No," Cora shook her head, "I don't think so, we'll go to Tink's house first. Maybe she's there."

"Are you not going to get mad at me for…"

"Robin, we need to focus on finding her, not on what happened earlier."

"Yeah, you're right," he whispered, nodding to himself. He was still out of breath from running and the added fact that Regina was now missing just made it even worse. He felt as though he couldn't breathe, like he might have actually blacked out had he not been sat down. He knew what it was he was experiencing, he'd had them before, sudden bursts of anxiety that led to full-blown panic attacks. He'd just managed to keep them in check, hiding them from the people around him.

"Robin, breathe. Hey, breathe Robin," Cora instructed, turning to face him and placing her hands on his shoulders as she tried to get him to focus. "It's going to be fine, we're going to find her. She's probably just at one of the girls' houses."

"Yeah, I know," he agreed, trying to control his breathing and copy her, but it was hard to concentrate on when his mind was moving a million miles a second.

"Are you alright if I start driving?"

"I'll be fine. The sooner we find Regina the better."

"Yes."

When pulling up to Tink's house there was no sign of her, after knocking on her door, the petite blonde had answered ready for bed and joined them in their worry. She was now sat in the back seat, literally wearing her dressing gown and slippers.

"She was at the game after school, we did the cheers and she said she was going to go home. Said she had Chinese takeout waiting for her. I know that the guys were having a party to celebrate the win, but I wasn't interested in going. Some of the other girls went though, I think. It's not Regina's thing, why would she go?"

"Did she tell you that she and Robin had fallen out?" Cora asked.

"No, but now you mention it she did seem very out of sorts today. I could tell that something wasn't right, every time I asked her she would just tell me she was fine, I didn't really know what else to do, I didn't want to annoy her with endless questions."

"Where's the party?" Robin questioned, breaking his silence.

"I think they said it was at Killian's place, his parents are out of town for the weekend."

"The Jones'?" Cora inquired, taking a left onto the next street.

"Yeah."

"Well then, I think we should probably try there. Were Kathryn and Emma going?"

"Killian is Emma's sort of boyfriend, so I would have thought so, they never miss a party," the blonde quipped. "I really don't see why Regina would have wanted to go there, but if she isn't I have no idea where she is."

When the car pulled up outside Killian's house it was clear that there was a party going on, teenagers were sprawled about the front yard, sat on walls with cans of alcohol and bottles of beer. The three of them got out and headed straight for the entrance. They agreed to split up and cover more ground.

Robin weaved his way in and out of the drunken students, shaking his head at the ridiculous scene. Regina would hate it here, so he had no clue why she would actually attend the party. The rooms were packed with people who were dancing and drinking, he could barely even move it was that busy. He spotted Emma in one corner, she was sat on Killian's lap flirting as usual.

"Emma?"

"Oh, it's you. Did Regina invite you or something?"

"Not exactly, actually I'm looking for Regina. Was she here?"

"Yeah she was here, don't know where she's gone though, haven't seen her for a while. Think she snatched a bottle of vodka from the kitchen, crazy girl," Emma laughed with a shake of her head. That only caused Robin to worry more, a sober Regina would be sensible, but a drunk one? He had no clue what she might do if she was drinking. The fact that she never drunk would also make it much worse, he needed to find her.

"When was the last time you saw her?"

"Like I just said, she took the bottle and I think she was with some guy."

"What?!"

"Sorry, don't shoot the messenger," she shrugged, turning her attention back to Killian.

"What the hell are you doing Regina?" Robin sighed, shaking his head as he continued his search.

Once he had covered the sitting room, he made his way into the kitchen, the first thing that caught his eye was a guy with blood streaming from his nose as he held a bag of frozen peas against it. Daniel was stood beside him, shaking his head. "What happened?" Robin asked as the guy turned to look at him.

"She's one crazy bitch."

"Shut up punk," Daniel's hand collided with the back of the guys head, "you probably deserved all you got."

"All I was doing was flirting, I thought she was interested."

"Why would she be interested in you?"

"I dunno! People say she's interested in anyone."

Robin felt his eyes narrow as he stared at the guy, he hoped to god he wasn't talking about Regina or he was going to end up with more than a broken nose. "Who's he talking about?"

"Regina and he better keep his mouth shut if he wants to keep all his teeth," Daniel spat, pushing the guy again.

"Is she okay? What happened to her? If you did something to her I swear to god," Robin hissed, stepping closer and glaring at the guy.

"Mate I didn't do anything to her! We were just speaking and she lamped me one."

"Where is she now?"

"Graham is with her in the garden."

"Right." He slipped outside and glanced around, spotting an old summer house right at the back he jogged towards it, opening the doors to find Regina slumped in one of the chairs with a bottle in her hands. Graham was sat in another chair shaking his head as he said something to her.

"Regina," Robin snapped, hurrying inside and snatching the drink from her grasp. "Why the hell are you letting her drink? Graham!"

"Mate I'm not her guardian, I'm not gonna tell her what she can or can't drink. Anyway, you're here now so I suppose I'll leave you to it. Take care of her!" he warned before walking out and leaving them alone.

"Hey, that was mine," she huffed, pointing at the bottle.

"You don't even drink," he hissed, pouring the vodka into the grass outside, "how much have you had?"

She looked up, her red eyes trying to focus on his face, once they had she recoiled from him and shook her head, "no way, leave me the fuck alone."

"Regina what the hell are you playing at?! You had your mom going out of her mind with worry! Not to mention me and Tink."

"Why do you even care? You arsehole!"

"Regina, I care about you, of course I do. Now how much have you had to drink?! How much Regina?!"

"None! Like you said, I don't drink, I had one sip and that was enough."

"Why did you hit that guy?"

"Because he thought he was entitled to say what he wanted to me or suggest things. He deserved it. Now just go away because I don't need you here, I'm perfectly fine."

"What are you trying to do to me?" he breathed, slumping down to his knees in front of her, his head resting against her legs. "Shit Regina, I was so fucking scared," before he could even think about stopping it, tears began flowing from his eyes as he cried against her.

"Robin? What the hell is going on?" she whispered, her fingers finding their way into his hair before she slipped out of her chair to join him on the floor, "please tell me what's going on. Did I do something wrong? Something to push you away? How could you just ignore me and walk away from me like you did? I begged you, Robin, I was literally begging you to talk to me and you just left. You couldn't get away fast enough."

"I'm so sorry, I… I'm so sorry Gina."

She wrapped her arms around him, holding him tight against her, "talk to me Robin, please. Tell me what's happening."

"I can't," he breathed, hugging her back just as strongly as though she might disappear should he let go. He just needed to hold her, to feel her against him. "I can't tell you."

"Why?! It's like all of a sudden you hate me and don't want to be around me anymore."

"I don't hate you! I could never hate you," he pulled back his eyes meeting hers as his hand found her cheek. Now she was crying too, there were salty tracks left behind where the tears had fallen. "I promise you this isn't about you, okay?"

"Then why?" she whispered, her fingers gripping his shirt as she shuffled even closer to him if that were even possible. "Why did you run away from me?"

"I'm so sorry."

"You've said that already, but I don't understand why. If I did something can you please tell me so I can fix it, I want to fix us, Robin, I don't want to lose you, you're…" he cut her words off by pressing his lips against hers. He just needed to taste her again, needed the press of her lips against his own, even if he knew that he was playing with fire. It was a lot more passionate than their first kiss and Regina gave in almost instantly, her arms wrapping around his neck as she pressed her body against his, meeting him with just as much force.

"Robin," she moaned against his mouth before pulling back. He did the same and met her eyes, "I don't understand," she whispered, out of breath. He knew that she was confused and he couldn't blame her because he was too. He wanted to be with her so badly but it was too dangerous. "Has someone said something to you?"

"I can't tell you, but just know that I am doing this for you okay."

"I just don't get it, what are you doing for me? Robin if someone has said something we don't have to listen to them! I want us to be friends, more than that maybe if you wanted, I know I was hoping that maybe we meant more to one another than just friends."

"You mean everything to me and I would give anything to be with you, it's just…"

"Then be with me! Robin, it's not a hard decision, let's be together!" she gushed, smiling at him as her fingers ran through his hair.

"They won't let us be together."

"Who?"

"They won't be happy, we can't."

"Robin who are you talking about?!"

"We can't do this Regina, I'm sorry but it just too risky."

"Are you talking about the boys? Have they said something, was it Nottingham again? You know he's an arsehole, we don't need to listen to anything they say. I'm not afraid of them and you shouldn't be either. So, what if they don't approve, I don't care what anyone else thinks. I want you, Robin." She brought their lips together yet again, kissing him deeply, pressing her entire self into him, pouring her whole soul into his, allowing them to meld together.

This time it was Robin to pull back first, he was dying inside and this was physically impossible to do. It was alright ignoring her when he didn't have to face her, but when she was right in front of him, he simply couldn't bring himself to do it. Sure, he had run away from her at the library before but it was hardly the same situation, here he felt cornered, completely trapped and he had no idea how he was supposed to get out of it, not without them both being hurt.

"Your mother will still be worrying, come on," Robin stood up and offered her his hand. He hadn't realised how chilly it was outside but noticed the goosebumps on her skin. She was only wearing her cheer uniform, a short skirt and sleeveless top, she must be freezing. Her beautiful hair was in disarray, splayed all over her shoulders and down to her waist.

He went to drop her hand but she held on and Robin couldn't help but allow it, he couldn't bear seeing her reaction should he have pulled his hand away from hers. He knew that she would have felt rejected and he really didn't want her to feel that way. Instead of pushing her away he pulled her closer to him, he felt protective of her and wanted to make sure that she felt safe.

They had to walk back through the kitchen and the guy she had hit was still stood there with Daniel and Graham. "Yo, keep that psycho bitch away from me."

"Shut up," Robin hissed as Regina curled into his back, her hand still firmly clinging to his. "Maybe it'll teach you to keep your inappropriate comments to yourself."

They wound in and out of the drunken teenagers before moving out of the front door where Tink was stood by Cora's car as the older woman paced the pavement. "Cora," Robin called, stopping her in her tracks as she turned to look at them.

For a moment she looked relieved before her expression turned angry, "get in the car right now," she demanded, walking around to the driver's seat.

"You two sit together in the back," Tink stated as she slipped into the passenger seat and allowed them to sit together.

As soon as the door was closed Cora turned to her daughter, "what on earth were you thinking?! I thought we had a strong agreement that if you want to go somewhere you tell me. I would have been completely fine with it if you had just let me know where the hell you were! Do you know how worried I was when Robin told me that he hadn't seen you?"

"I'm sorry," she whispered, her finger's playing with Robin's awkwardly. "I was upset, I wasn't thinking straight. I'm so sorry."

"I'm just disappointed that you didn't even consider telling me where you were Regina! That was so irresponsible, anything could have happened to you for all I knew!"

"You weren't home! You were still at work, you told me you'd be late and I just lost track of time," Regina cried, burying her face against Robin's shoulder. He felt so guilty, this was all his fault, though it wasn't really, it was the fault of the blackmailer, the person who was trying to force them to be apart even though he wanted nothing more than to be with her in every sense of the word.

"Regina," Cora sighed, Robin watched as the older woman's anger disappointed, he could tell that the anger had sprouted from the worry she had been feeling. He'd never heard her raise her voice to Regina before and it was strange to see, clearly it had made Regina more upset than she already had been before. "Never do this to me again. You are the only family I have and the thought of losing you tears me apart. Promise me, promise that this won't ever happen again."

"I promise, I'm so sorry mom. I love you so much, I really didn't mean for you to worry."

The car pulled up outside Tink's house and the girl who had been quiet for the entire ride hopped out and let them know that they would see them later, squeezing Regina's hand as she left.

"Robin, would you like me to drop you off at home?"

"No!" Regina protested with a shake of the head, "no, can Robin please stay over tonight, I just... I just want everything to be okay again."

"Regina…" he sighed, it wasn't a good idea, not at all.

"Please Robin, please, I really need you to stay with me."

"Okay, I'll stay over," Robin whispered. He had a horrible feeling that he was going to regret his answer.
