Her power was so strong though that it overtook her at the loss of her family, when she finally regained herself, she escaped to tortall where she made a name for herself by warning people of incoming immortals and training animals. Daine is fifteen and Numair is in his early twenties.

Lianne is the second princess of Tortall. Her father, King Jonathan, has requested that she marry a man from the north, but in a last attempt to escape her impending marriage she heads south where she is kidnapped. What happens to her in the desert will change Lianne, and Tortall itself, forever.
