Chapter 4: Camping Activities

One cool first Saturday of June 2022, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri at Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties client Sarah Ching's house in Monroeville. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. Sarah C. was making invitations out of tents for her Camping Sleepover in 2 weeks. We all ate cobb salad for lunch. "Your graduation ceremony last night was very amazing, Sarah," Sarah stated. "I am happy that we got to attend!" "Thanks," Sarah C. replied. "I also got Salutatorian last night!" "How does it feel to be out of high school, Sarah?" James asked. "I guess that it's okay," Sarah C. replied. "I do miss it a little bit." "I remember when Betsy asked me to the dance in high school, but Sarah couldn't go because she was only in middle school," James pointed out. "Well, I enjoyed eating pizza and watching a movie with Angel," Sarah remembered. "And, I enjoyed my Boy Scouts meeting in elementary school," Henri stated. "I was asked out to a school dance as a sophomore in high school before the coronavirus pandemic hit us," Sarah C. pointed out. "Did you know that I was Salutatorian of Taylor Allderdice High School back in 2008?" Sarah asked. "But, that came with a few evil students to deal with, like Nathan cheating off of my history exam. Has something like that ever happened to you?" "I have dealt with that problem several times during my high school career," Sarah C. stated. "Nathan was not only cheating, but blaming me for cheating, as well, and got detention," Sarah continued. "Oh dear!" Sarah C. remarked. "So, have you gotten to do any fun things this summer yet?" "Yes, we have," I replied. "We went to Dave and Andy's for ice cream and to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Oakland last Saturday." "And, we also toured the campsite in Boyce Park where you are going to have your party after our day at the beach in East Liberty," James added. "Cool!" Sarah C. remarked. "I also hope that Sarah, James, and Henri can join me for the picnic at Schenley Park tomorrow, the Three Rivers Arts Festival one day this week, and the Santana concert in July," I stated. "Well, we know we are going to be at the Santana concert because we listen to that every week," Sarah reminded me. "I would also like to have a graduation party the week after my Camping Sleepover is over," Sarah C. told us. "Where at?" Henri asked. "Maybe the Par2Golf course in Monroeville near where I live and the office," Sarah C. replied. "Or, Highland Park, maybe? Depending on what you guys get to do on a random day. Just let me know, okay?" "We will," Sarah replied. "We also may have a camping themed party for my birthday in 2 weeks," James pointed out. "We have gotten a lot of good ideas from our bonfire outing in Bethel Park at the end of April that we may use all this month." We then helped Sarah C. deliver out her invitations to her friends Leighton, Aurora, Mia, and Claire before Sarah, James, and Henri drove me back to my mentor, Jenna and her sister, Jill's apartment in Point Breeze. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Bye, guys!" "Bye!"
