With Douglas being sent to the Steamworks after a nasty accident, the Fat Controller arranges for Emily to handle Douglas' duties on the Little Western. While covering her No. 10 'brother's' work, Emily gets to work to her other 'big brother', Donald on lots of escapades across the Little Western. Some more exciting and terrifying than others.

The Fat Controller saves an engine from a Mainland Scrapyard, but his restoration seems impossible. *Rewrite in progress*

Henry is annoyed to hear Percy carrying on about how well he performed a rescue despite a flood. Percy wants to go past the forbidden area at the harbor, despite Thomas' warning against it, and ends up sinking into the water, and gets scolded by Sir Topham Hatt/The Fat Controller.

The year is 1923, and the end of the Great War in Europe has resulted in the British Parliament passing the Railway Act of 1923, turning hundreds of small British railways into five main companies. A small island in the Irish Sea named Sodor becomes a part of this as their networks are combined under the North Western Railway. A new era for Sodor has begun.

When James has to collect trucks and take them to Brendam Docks for an important coal delivery, he ignores the Fat Controller's warning of not going up any hills and it comes back to bite him.

It's another lovely and peaceful night where Emily is once again lost in the sadness of her past, and once again, Thomas is ready to comfort and please his angel for as long and as much as she desires. And Emily feels her desire for her lover to be all-consuming. It's often wise to say nothing. As the old saying goes, silence is golden.

Rosie and Stanley have been a couple a while now, but Rosie is still plagued with self doubt about their relationship after what happened with Thomas. Stanley desperately wants to prove to his rose that he will never hurt her the way Thomas did, but the thorns surrounding her heart continue to tighten their grip and pierce through her heart.
